I don't know about you guys but these Retro's are killing me. For a long time now it seems that many of my pressure points are getting the whammy. I have 5 Retro Natally, as well as 5 T-squares so I am better able to handle it. [cos I'm used to it!].... but. Venus goes Retro in late July @ 2+ Virgo. She quickly heads right back into Leo. Gonna Post some retro stuff:A planet is described as retrograde when it appears to be moving backwards through the zodiac. This traditional concept arises in the illusory planetary motion created by the orbital rotation of the earth, with relation to other planets in our solar system. Planets are never actually retrograde or stationary, they just seem that way, due to this optical illusion. Click here for more on the science of retrograde planetary motion. Retrograde periods, although often problematic for us earthlings, are not particularly uncommon. Each planet retrogrades, except the Sun and Moon. As a rule, retrograde planets presage a period of seemingly inevitable or fated events, which relate to their sphere of influence. They present us with a series of events over which we seem to have little or no control, relating especially to the sign in which the retrogradation occurs. For example, transiting Uranus retrograde in Pisces presents quite different sets of circumstances from those generated when it retrogrades into Aquarius. Unusual Phenomena in 2007 Normally Venus turns retrograde about every 18 months and Mars every two years or so. This year (2007) is somewhat unusual in that both Venus and Mars turn retrograde, Venus turning on July 27, 2007, and the mighty Warrior on November 15, 2007. Moreover, with Pluto on the Galactic Centre, powerful forces are working to rearrange our human destinies. Pluto on the Galactic Core It is noteworthy that dark Pluto is still hovering around the Galactic Centre (a.k.a. Galactic Core) and will turn retro in that conjunction on March 31, 2007. The core of our Galaxy, the Milky Way, is currently located at Sag 26°56'. This point, discovered in 1932, is thought to contain a massive black hole with the mass of some four million times that of our own Sun. It has a significant effect when aspected, inclining people affected to take a central role in affairs and to have a sense of cosmic destiny. Pluto is not in partile (exact) conjunction with the GC as it was in 2006, but because it is such a slow-moving planet the partile conjunction is reawakened between July 15 and October 29. On September 7 Pluto actually makes his direct station right on the GC, which in some ways is of greater significance than when he turned retro in this position. It gives the opportunity to move forward with regard to the obstructions signalled and may be expected to lead to the restructuring of society on a more spiritual basis. Or let's hope so, anyway. Planetary Stations A retrograde period is best seen as a cycle, which begins when the planet begins to slow to a halt before travelling backwards through the zodiac and ends when the planet returns to the point where it first paused. However, during the cycle, the planet's energy is most powerful (and more likely to generate critical events of universal importance) when the planet makes a station, appearing motionless in the sky. These stationary periods occur at the beginning of the cycle (when the planet first halts as it prepares to move backwards) and midway through the cycle when the retrograde planet slows to a stop before moving forward again. The planetary direct station (when the retrograde planet seems to halt before moving forward through the zodiac again) is a time of significant power when matters to do with the energies of the planet, house and sign can be favourably activated. The few days either side of this time are ideal for making or implementing decisions in the nature of the planet, sign and house concerned. In particular, the stations of Jupiter and Saturn are important with regard to longer term intentions. Remember that the outer planets turn retrograde every year for quite some months, so it is not at all unusual to have one or more of them retrograde in one's own personal chart. This is not necessarily unfortunate and the key issues of destiny in such a case depend largely upon the aspects to the retrograde outer planets from the inner personal planets and points. Current Retrograde Movements Mercury usually turns retro three times a year. Venus retro periods occur every eighteen months or so. Mars turns retro only once every two years. Jupiter from April 6, 2007 until August 7, 2007. Saturn from December 6, 2006 until April 19, 2007 from December 19, 2007 until May 3, 2008 Uranus from June 23, 2007 until November 24, 2007 Neptune from May 25, 2007 until October 31, 2007 Pluto from March 31, 2007 until September 7, 2007 And yea I know all that spiritual stuff about lessons learned/return. But jeeze louise Jupiter is walking retro all over my Saturn too, I could go on ok B-Fest over

- Venus Retrograde 2007 On July 27, 2007, Venus reaches her retrograde station, in preparation for a period of retrograde motion which will last until September 8, 2007. On top of that, the effects of the retrograde period will continue to be felt until she returns in direct motion on October 11 to the degree where she first made her station (2° Virgo 56'). Venus turns retrograde only once every eighteen months, but the effects of each period differ, according to the sign in which it happens (see box for Venus Retrograde 2007). A planet is described as retrograde when it appears to be moving backwards through the zodiac. This traditional concept arises in the illusory planetary motion created by the orbital rotation of the earth, with relation to other planets in our solar system. Planets are never actually retrograde or stationary, they just seem that way, due to this optical illusion. Retrograde periods, although often problematic for us earthlings, are not particularly uncommon. Each planet retrogrades, except the Sun and Moon. Fated Events As a rule, retrograde planets presage a period of seemingly inevitable or fated events, which relate to their sphere of influence. They present us with a series of events over which we seem to have little or no control, relating especially to the sign in which the retrogradation occurs. A retrograde period is best seen as a cycle, beginning when the planet begins to slow to a halt before travelling backwards through the zodiac and ending when the planet returns to the point where it first paused. However, during the cycle, the planet's energy is most powerful (and more likely to generate critical events of universal importance) when the planet makes a station, appearing motionless in the sky. These stationary periods occur near the beginning of the cycle (when the planet first halts as it prepares to move backwards) and midway through the cycle when the retrograde planet slows to a stop before moving forward again. The "direct station" (when the planet halts before moving forward again) is the most powerful and can be used for maximum benefit. What does Venus affect? In general, Venus, the goddess of love, rules feelings and emotion, aesthetics and tastes, fashions and all forms of desire, money and wealth. Venus rules social attitudes and behaviour, along with aesthetic tastes and inclinations. Venus symbolises female relationships and social interactions at every level. Venus indicates our values. She governs romance, marriage and other partnerships, capacity for humour, and the pursuit of pleasure. During a retrograde period the things Venus influences will be less apparent, or be of less concern to the world. Visual sensibilities are reduced. People dress with less flair and our colour sense tends to be muted. This is not the time to purchase clothes or jewellery, change one's make-up or hairstyle. Redecorating or refurbishing homes or business should also be avoided, though there is no reason why decisions that have been made earlier should not be allowed to come to fruition during this period. With Venus retrograde, the pace of relationships slows down and this is not the best time to get married or give big parties. Since Venus rules diplomacy, slowdowns in all sorts of negotiations can be expected, including industrial disputes, legal issues and diplomatic endeavours. It is a time when we are called upon to go back and take care of unfinished business. Often we are forced to deal with deep feelings that have their origins in past events. They are activated on an inner level but are often difficult to express to ourselves or others while Venus is retrograde. Venus Retrograde in Virgo When Venus is retrograde, everyone's emotional state is more introspective and we tend to react emotionally to the issues and concerns that relate to the sign involved. With Venus retrograde in Virgo, people with this sign prominent in their charts will be especially prone to such introspection. There is little choice but to reconsider our personal feelings and relationships. There is, however, an opportunity to gain insight into one's own mode of relating, whether sexually, creatively, or financially. Virgo signifies connections with the sick, so this period especially affects nurses, dietitians and therapists. It also affects those who have detailed involvement with financial and creative areas, such as accountants, managers and agents. Relations with fellow workers and employees are subject to undue criticism and you may be somewhat inhibited when it comes to establishing social or sexual relationships. Secret emotional unions and strange experiences are stimulated. Relationships in the military may become strained. Although Venus turns retrograde in Virgo, she does so in the early degrees and soon retrogrades into Leo. When Venus moves back into Leo on August 9, 2007, deep feelings can be awakened, especially for those who have Fixed Signs strong in their charts. Fixed Signs are Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius and Taurus. Creative projects tend to be stifled and a tendency emerges for exaggeration. Dramatics are likely in mannerisms, dress, or some aspect of the personality. Control any inclination to be cold and cruel. This position can bring back problems, so chiropractors, be ready! The most significant aspect awakened is the fortunate trine to Pluto, which is stationary at 26°18' of Sagittarius, in conjunction with the Galactic Core. This aspect is active to one degree or another throughout the retro phase, but is at its peak on August 14 and 15 (retro), then again on October 4 and 5 (direct). A watchful observer will get a clear insight into body language. Pay attention to the subtleties of human interactions, as the knowledge gleaned can be valuable. People will be attracted if you display an aura of self-possession and control. You can turn the tables on the past. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that you will change a failure into a success, but if you keep your wits about you, you can gain something equally valuable to make up for it.

Would any of the retrogrades affect travel? Should I not travel during this time?

Thanks, Node. Jupiter retro has been really draining me. I feel like I am running in the same place. I didn't know it was retro until after I felt this way, so I feel it's accurate. Most of my planets are in sagittarius. I'm glad it's almost over! Now, venus will retro and that is my chart ruler. How do you think it will affect nurses? I know a lot of nurses and I'd like to let them know. I'm wondering if venus retro will cause a lot of reunions. Or divorces...? The mars and venus retro simultaneously seems bad to me for world affairs, and also for relationships. ------------------ Sun Aqua, Moon Sagg, Asc Taurus IP: Logged |

I'm getting married on October 6th this year... during the Venus retrograde.I try to look at the upside of retrogrades, and other so-called negative planetary behaviors... meaning I try to slide into the groove of whatever is happening and ride it out. That said, any tips (Zala? HD?) on how to not only make a second best of the situation, but to really make something of it? What might be the positives of getting married during this period? How might it affect the marriage itself? On the plus side, there are lots of other good things happening that day... overall looks like a good day for romance, festivity, and some magic-type drama! Thanks for the great insights into the coming Venus rx! Very interesting. Hmmm, didn't realize the Venus rx was occurring at 2 Virgo. With a natal opposition between 12h Uranus 2 Virgo and 6h Venus 2 Pisces conjunct the Asc/Des axis what could be expected with this Venus rx? Would a somewhat private affair be helped or hindered? I just can't get a grip on this aspect. Any clues? IP: Logged |

Congrats, Future Uncertain, but you have to change your name to "Future Certain" now. I don't think any of us know what to make of Venus going rx. I'm taking my cues from the mercury rx rules. I have a question...do you think the rx would help cure typical Venus health conditions - one's you've had prior to the retro? I ask, because I have such a condition and have been thinking of finally doing something about it. My theory is that it could be a good time to get rid of venus health problems, since the sign is rx, i.e., going backwards - reversing venus ruled problems. What do you think? ------------------ Sun Aqua, Moon Sagg, Asc Taurus IP: Logged |

Thank you Mustang! I like the way you're thinking about retrogrades... I know most of us realize that within all "negatives" can be found positives. But I think we need to go beyond that and really embrace those things. I hope you get an answer to your question, and good luck! (I've been thinking of changing my name lately anyway, but I've been "me" for a long time now!) IP: Logged |

You're welcome, Future! I am pretty resolved to do something about my problem. I've had it for so long and it is not going away on its own. I gave my body the time to resolve it and it hasn't happened. I did the conservative thing and now it's time to take action. I've been patient long enough. (I'm not basing this on venus at all.) It's time. PS- Keep your name on the board. It will be a big enough pain in the ass to change it in real life, from what I've heard. ------------------ Sun Aqua, Moon Sagg, Asc Taurus IP: Logged |

Okay, well I asked this question on this forum ealier today but no one responded. So here's hoping that someone will be able to give me a little insight, although I know it's a transit question:"What would the significance be of Venus conjuncting one's Descendant on the day it turns retrograde this July? Specifically, Venus in this particular chart would be in the last degree of the 6th house so it would technically be retrograding through the 6th. As it retrograded, then, what would the additional significance of it be if it was conjuncting natal Saturn? And opposing the natal North Node? And squaring natal Karma asteroid?" Node? Anyone?
