When looking at a synastry chart would you rather have venus/mars contacts or really good sun/moon contacts? I know venus/ mars is awesome for passion but what about sun/moon? They say it's good for marriage but is it good for passion as well? Just wondering....

Hi Ann!

Wow...looking back at synastry with guys I've dated...

I don't think I've ever had a Sun/Moon conjunction OR a Venus/Mars conjunction...not even a connection between the two!

I found lots of Moon/Mars, Venus/Sun, Venus/Venus but none of the others.

Maybe I'm missing out!

BOTH are good for passion, trust me

What would I rather have? honestly I don't mind so long as I'm the Mars person if its Venus/Mars

I've never had any Mars/Venus aspects between me and anyone. Weird, I always thought.

But I have had my Moon conjunct someone's Sun and Venus. Meow.

Not an overall good chart for a long term thing (and the reality bore that out) but let me say again, Meow. From a physical standpoint, it was magic.

I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that if you have Moon conunct Venus then it's transcendant in the bedroom.

I must agree.

Hi 8 Looking back, I've always had venus/ mars contacts with men I've dated {as well as a a lot of other great contacts like you listed} with the exception of two guys....And with both of those relationships the friendship was stronger than the passion which leads into what Love said {eventually it gets boring}. The last guy that I dated shared a venus/ mars square double whammy. Both orbs were between 5 and 6 degrees but it was still HOT!!!! Just not long lasting.

Aqua Inferno- I am really curious as to why you would want to be the mars?

I'm asking the question because I've met someone new and my moon conjuncts his sun at an orb of 01' 08'. We also share a sun/ venus trine at an orb of 01' 35' and a venus/ moon conjunction but the orb is 07' 44' . So I don't know how much it would be felt. The one thing I am looking forward to is experiencing his mars in my fifth house! I'm hoping that will add some sparks.

Thanks for all the input, guys!

Hi

I would compare the Sun-Moon conjunction to (especially if the Sun is the guy). I have this with the boy i love, and its an amazing feeling. We are quite different, but still i can see myself in him.
I would say it as a higher octave of Venus-Mars, less sexual but more spiritual, though also gives a lot physical attraction.

Wait! I found a winner! Ironically enough, the best relationship (at least the man I felt closest to) I ever had has these aspects:

Venus square Mars and Venus square Venus in longitudes
My Venus/Mars parallel his Mars and contraparallel his Moon in declinations

I noticed that most of my relationships also had lots of Pluto connections.

I also found one with his moon trine my sun. We were great friends and dated on and off.

If I had to vote for only one or the other, I'd have to choose the Venus/Mars...although I obviously base relationships on some other synastry!

hi Ann,
why do I prefer to be mars? oddly enough, it's because my venus (in aries) - I'm very mars like in love...so prefer to be Mars. Does that make sense?
oh btw! someone's mars in your 5th is VERY nice

My bf and I have double whammy venus/mars contacts and double whammy moon/sun contacts. 2 years and its still passionate dynamic and exciting and having a ball!

However, an ex of mine we had zero venus/mars contact, but double whammy sun/moon contacts. Felt more like a friendship, a certain spark was missing and I was BORED... Sexual chemistry missing..

My personal favourite is Venus conjunct Pluto.

I know, it's a little shameful, but I can't help myself.

Why shameful?

About the question - it's best to have both.. Sun/Moon and Venus/Mars. The married couples I know have both.

my Pisces boyfriend has his Lbra moon conjunct my Libra sun, and my venus in Scorpio opposes his Mars in Taurus, BOTH AT THE EXACT SAME DEGREES! While my mars in Libra trines his venus in Aquarius.

and i love it. <33

I have sun/ moon aspects, sun/ Venus aspects and venus/ mars aspects with my first love.. Not to mention good house placements, too...Talk about intense!!! I have yet to feel that kind of love and attraction with another so I guess I'm kind of on a quest for those incredible feelings. {aren't we all?!}

I kind of agree with Scorpiofrancesca, without the venus/ mars it gets boring. I find a lot of times I will have aspects between mars and pluto or venus and pluto with men I'm attracted to but it always goes back to venus/ mars. Lately I've been looking into house overlays and hoping that good aspects there might help impact a chart that is otherwise lacking in passion. {That's a whole new subject, lol}

I have both sun/moon and venus/mars contacts with my bf. When I think about it, I don't think I could have one without the other. The sun/moon is a trine while the venus-mars is an opposition. Even though there's spark as a result, the latter (venus-mars) does bring problems. I think sun/moon is essential in its own way as well so that the two people actually like eachother too. Without it, things could become love/hate-ish very quickly.

But then again, even if there was no venus-mars contact, we have moon conjunct mars which IMO is WAY hotter than venus-mars.

Hey Dulce Luna Why do you think moon conjunct mars is hotter? I have that aspect with the last guy I was dating, and yes things were very hot . {We also had a lot of other aspects pointing to sexual attraction.} All I know is I was the moon person and my mars guy frustrated the heck out of me {all though the kisses were the best ever!}

I'd take the Venus/Mars aspect. I need some heat.
I have Sun conjunct Moon with many of my closest friends. I really love them but have no desire to stick my tongue in their mouth.

MM is on the mark -- I would rather have both
But if I had to pick one synastric aspect of the two specified, it would be Sun/Moon -- bodies age.....

ME and my love dont share a moon/sun contact.(moon/moon and sun/sun only).

We share a venus/mars square;mars-mars trine and a moon/venus trine.A venus/pluto sextile and semisextile.

I dont know what its having a sun/moon contact but personally i dont think its essencial for 2 persons to be in love for each other.( it helps a lot on understanding each other though).
SUn/Moon does much for makin 2 people feeling and acting similar ii think:like one reflecting the other in a mirror?

To us doenst lack passion and intimacy or love.
I think it depends on what you want for a relationship: if more intension and passion; or a more friendsip based.

In general,i prefer the venus/mars aspects

Of course, the best if you share both, but if i have to choose, than its Sun/Moon for sure.

LOL@ Jane! {{{Jane}}}

I've been looking over charts from ex's and current romantic interests. The ones that I have the venus/ mars conjunctions with {me being the mars} and up getting weird on me {overly clingy} resulting in me ending things and not looking back. I have a sun/moon conjunction but no venus/mars aspects with my second ex husband {umm...this isn't sounding so good,lol} and while there was never really any passion we are still friends. My first husband {love of my life thus far} & I shared a lot of great placements - sun/moon, sun/venus, venus/mars and cross aspects between the fifth and seventh houses. It really stinks when you have something so special and it doesn't last... Guess that's another topic about aspects, lol. I have another thread going about house placements... I'm starting to see in my current relationships where lack of plantery aspects {promoting attraction and what not} can be altered by house overlays and I'm finding this very interesting.

Thanks, guys, for all of your input! It's helping me to learn a lot!

My boyfriend's Venus is in Libra and my Mars is in Libra.

Not close enough to be Conjunct but the energies are there.

It feels nice.

Whoops! I'm so sorry I missed this question. I honestly for some reason forgot to check back to this thread. My apologies Ann7.

Kissing-wise, its fantastic! Moon/mars to me is like sexy and comfort wrapped into one; what more could a cancer ask for? I don't know, maybe I shoud retract that statement because sometimes the energies are too similar to tell a part. But I know the problems coming from the venus-mars opposition when I see them. Its so obvious, its strange.
