It has been 1 year since i know this guy (and in love with him the last 4 months), i still don't know his Ascendant. He's scorpio sun and Mercury, geez, as secretive as the Da Vinci code! I'm so hopeless here. Ladies, how did you learn someone's time of birth so easily? Every one here seems to know the ascendant of their gf/bf... Can you help me guessing his Ascendant by a photo or something?
BTW I'm a newbbie here and this site is great, you guys are so helpful. I've been reading your posts until late every night since i knew it.

Could be a blessing in disguise that he won't tell you. He's keeping you guessing and making sure you're not able to put him conveniently into this box or that. I've sometimes found that when my curiosity is sated regarding someone's full birth chart I prefered it when I didn't know, just because I couldn't apply astrology properly and would have to think more 'normally'.

Though interestingly one guy did give me a false birthchart once, and when I was interpreting it back to him I kept saying "I know this doesn't sound much like you" and then he felt so guilty he gave me his real one, and it fitted him to a T!

PS. Sorry but I don't think a photo would necessarily help.

How did I find out?Well...I just ask both of them!I figure,if I'm having to hide the fact that I'm into astrology,or if he doesn't like me because of it,then the relationsahip won't work anyway. And yea...I know a lot of people think astrology is "mumbo-jumbo",but if you can't be honest with the guy about your interest in it...then that's a bad sign!!Good Luck & keep us informed!! Oh,and a BIG welcome to LindaLand!!

I just asked my boyfriend when he was born. I told him it was out of curiosity, so he asked his mom. Yeppp... it wasn't that hard for me.

You are right Moondreamer, guess i won't able to hide anything from him for long anyway. He does keep me dangling all this time, but i don't know if it is intentional. He seems to have difficulty revealing his deepest emotions: Venus in Cap exactly opposes Saturn in Cancer, both form a T-square with Pluto, plus Sun squares moon (not esxact since i dont know his birth time).
We have all outer planets, plus Mars and Jupiter, conjunct(Saturn with wide orb).
Guess i'll have to gather my courage and ask. I'm getting there, slowly...

Welcome!

I've asked. Lately, I've been doing the online thing. One gave me everything, didn't even bat an eye, called his Mom to find out the time and everything! He was a Sag sun. Still love him, but he lives too far away to make it work. (1700 miles away!) The next was a detective/cop and I asked after we were emailing for a couple of weeks. He refused and scolded me about potential identity theft! Dropped him fast. My current email beau, I haven't met in person, but is like his Aquarius Sun and is interested and gave me his birth info to play with this morning. His Sun conj. my Venus, and I love him already!

That's the funniest thing I heard today!

For getting birth time, it depends on how well I know the person. If we're close, I just ask. If it's more in the acquaintance stage, I usually don't ask (wouldn't want them to think I was trying to steal their identity ). What I've often done is make getting our charts a social thing. Like if we're in a large group and around a computer, I'll go to astro.com, put in my info and see if anyone else wants to do their chart. They always do, I haven't yet had someone not be interested and I've done this many times. Some people would probably be turned off by the idea of being studied astrologically by someone else, so doing it this way, they are the ones learning about themselves, and you just happen to be there to learn their birth data too.

Oh Jane your advice is awesome! Why didn't I think of it before? I'll give it a try the first chance i catch. But then again, he's the most secretive person i've met, Most probably he will just smile at look at others fighting for the comp... seriously! Not mentioning we are both working in a scientific department.
Capnsag, it doesn't have to be a dectective/cop to hate astro. I'll first "investigate" what he thinks about astrology (hmm investigate is a favorite in his vocabulary).

Summer:

This technique has always worked well for me: I strike up a conversation and indicate that I have this theory about someone the time of day someone was born relating to the time of day they enjoy the most (IE a “morning person” or “night person”). I share that I was born in the evening at 5ish and have always identified with that time, and I then turn around and ask what time of day the person I’m chatting with was born.

It works like a charm!

I could probably tell the ascendant if there was a photo.
Do you have any idea of what it could be?

For example, when i'm trying to find someone's ascendant, I go to cafe astrology's charts and put different birthtimes thoughought the day to see what the possible outcomes are. Then I see and look back on the person's traits and I can usually infer, or have a good idea.

My boyfriend doesn't believe/agree with astrology or anything metaphysical, so it was awkward for me to ask at first. But he's a twin. So out of curiosity, I asked his mother one day and she told me.

Thank you all for so much help.
Babeefoxx, I don't know how to post a photo in this forum.
as of guessing, well, i have the hypithesis that he is either cancer rising, because he has thin blonde hair, with fair and soft skin. He also walks like a cancer rising too, with his arms and legs slightly like the crab's legs. Or maybe he's taurus rising because of the dominant eyebrow bone structure, and very low warm voice (which is the first thing that killed my heart). But he doesn't sing well at all.
The more i read into physical features of each sign, the more i am confused though...

I'd say DONT go with physical descriptions, they can be very misleading and often times, they're not accurate enough to guess someone's ascendant.

Basic things like someone being very tall, or having deep eyes, or a very long face might help refine your guesses, but I wouldn't play your guesses by those facts alone.

After all, someone with a Cancer rising, who stands 6 feet 8inches tall could have the Moon in Aquarius conjunct Uranus and Jupiter.

Or they could have some really ...tall...genes!

I'd keep it strictly to personality/mannerisms for now. You said he's secretive but that's common for Scorpio influenced people, and he's got some tough aspects that probably attach his secretiveness to self-protection. He's probably not very open to begin with, with the Saturn aspects added in the mix.

What's he like? What does he do? How does he act amongst others? What kind of habits does he have? What's his personality like?

I agree with Alanabelle: The one I mentioned above, where he asked his mom, his mom didn't know exactly, and the closest time she gave him made him a Pisces Asc. No way! He'a about as direct, go for it, competitive man I've ever met. Now in charts I run for him, I moved his birthdate up 30 minutes, and made him an Aries asc., which fits him perfectly.

He asked me out
My heart's singing and flying high!!!

It's so funny how he did it though. During our conversation, he kind of "blurted" out - casually - that he would like to have a drink with me some time. And then immediately added that it can't be today, nor even soon, because he's leaving in the same day for a conference in Germany, and then on a hiking trip with family. Is it the trade mark of Satrn-Venus opposition? what do you think?

As of his habits and manner, let me see . He's a good researcher, has strong will and passionate in his work, which are all the features of scorpio sun and mercury i guess. He is strongly attached to his home and family, openly admiting that, like going to visit his family a lot in the weekend, adoring his brother and little niece (even though he insists on living at least 3h-drive from them). He has only Saturn in Cancer though. He doesn't care much about his appearance at all, very casually dressed all the time. But somehow he show a lot of appreciation for the finesse and etiquettes. And god help me please, he attracts a lot of girls! I've seen women swooning over him when our department went out together. He said he likes flirting, but as i see it, he definitely loves exciting conversations. Strangely he never flirts with me. He seems always a bit reserved and even too self-restrained around me. I'm always the one who is more animated, quick and responsive. Which sometimes annoys me quite a bit because i do really want to downplay my talkativeness to hear what he would say. But being around him I always feel elated, way too optimistic, and how to say, "expansive"! Oh and he has a way of asking very pressing - even overbearing - questions when he's interested. Like the other day he asked me something about our boss, and i tried to walk around it by asking him back another question. He then leaned over to me and said, still in his warm tone, "But I Am asking you a question". I could feel my blushing and fluttering under his stare. It was really not me. I nevr yielded that easily with anyone (sign).
Anyone helps me with guessingthis riddle?
