What matters the most on how they deeply love and feel a commitment towards a woman? In what order of importance in the chart? thanks all!

I'm not sure, but I heard that his Venus sign signifies the type of woman he is attracted to. For instance, if he has Venus in Scorpio, he'll be attracted to intense, mysterious and sexual women--the type that he can't really bring home to mom.

The moon sign reflects the type of woman that he would marry. However, for both the venus and moon sign, it's important to also take into account the aspects that are involved.

I read something similar. Venus in a man's chart relates to what he seeks looks wise/physically, moon is more what he feels comfortable with emotionally. But aspects and house placements are also significant. For instance I'm sure a man with venus in aquarius conjunct pluto would have different taste in women than someone with venus conjunct saturn.

Also, i've read somewhere (cant remember where) it's not so much whether the signs etc. match your planets, but whether his venus (or man) actually form any aspects in synastry.

Venus and Moon in a man's chart...

For example...I have a dear friend, we are quite "soul mates"....

His close stellium of of Venus, Mars and Jupiter in Pisces conj my Pisces sun...and he has a Gemini moon...

My close stellium of Merc, Mars and Jup in Aqua conj his sun and my stellium is in the 3rd....Gemini's house!!!

Yup!!! Venus and Moon in a man's chart!

The Moon in a man's chart shows the type of woman that is quite present in his life. It is the way he approaches them and is used to dealing with them. Therefore, it's the type of woman he feels most comfortable around... It doesn't mean it's the type of woman he's necessarily attracted to. (Think of this as the mother...she's the primary feminine figure in a man's life. It's what he first learned about women, how he first experienced them, and how he understands them to be...without any social influence what so ever).

Venus in a man's chart shows the type of woman he's attracted to. This is the type of woman he describes when you ask him the infamous "Who's your dreamgirl" question. This is the type of woman that he may not necessarily feel most comfortable around, but desires and tends to date. She's the one that revvs his "engine".

Not to get too indepth, but I always find looking at the Moon/Venus midpoint to be quite interesting when studying the charts of men because it's where these two major principles in their life meet and find common ground. Basically, it's the woman he desires the most + the woman he's most comfortable with...the makings of the ideal partner.

Hope this helps!

alanabelle,

I liked your thoughts on Venus/Moon midpoint so I checked...

His midpoint is 12 Cancer/Cap, Cancer being his 5th house. My Cancer Moon & Pallas conjunct it, my Pisces Chiron & Scorpio Neptune trine it. My Eros & Cupid are conjunct at 18 Capricorn, I'm sure too wide an orb but still kinda noteworthy. My Sun&Merc are Aries tho, not sure how the square to his mp plays out.

What do you think the best midpoint is for women? I thought of Mars & Saturn for desire & commitment...and interestingly his Moon conjuncts my Mars/Sat mp and his Venus trines it!

Our relationship is, by both of our accounts, the most emotionally expressive connection we've ever experienced. There is a tremendous healing quality present. We are extremely generous with each other in every way.

He fell for me the moment he saw me walk in the room, teases me now how "he chased me down". Hmmm, maybe his Venus conjunct my Pluto <1 deg? We have some really nice synastry and a wonderful composite. It's been 5 months of bliss - his words and mine - and it continues to get better as time moves along.

Love to know your thoughts on a mp for us girls

Well in my opinion you can't completely disregard the moon or venus when it comes to what attracts a man in a woman. I think they're both equally strong in attraction but in different ways.

And also if a man has a planet conj his moon venus Mp should that color his view of the "ideal" woman - as in seeking the traits of that planet?

Edit:

Anyway I see both of them as important, but IMO there can be times where he's more in search of a fling or maybe he's not that committal - I'd read his Venus sign, house, aspects. In search of commitment, at a time in his life where he wants to raise a family, then he'd probably be looking more towards the Moon traits in other women. If he's just been badly hurt in a relationship, probably the Moon, if he left the last one due to boredom and sameness probably Venus. A woman with the looks of venus and the heart/warmth of the moon would probably be the ideal if just strictly looking at these 2 placements in a man's chart. My opinion, but I'm ready to consider others

Did you mean to write "or man" here? and if so what does that mean...? Not being daft here

Hey, I liked that explanation....agreed! Anyways, I too think you can look to others like say if a guy is kind of effemininite or something like the sort than maybe he already expresses his moon and venus but kind of drops his sun and mars and looks for a partner based on his sun or mars?? Not trying to be funny here, just a suggestion.*shrugs*

Or obviously look to the 7th house/8th house combined and whatever's commitment and the 5th house for lighter matters? Nah.....that didn't really sound right.

oops, sorry Arnicka, I was already half asleep when I wrote that. What I meant to say is, it's not so much much whether the signs etc. match your planets, but whether his venus (or moon) actually forms any aspects in synastry with you.So it doestn matter so much that he has capricorn venus and you have planets in venus, but whether there are actually any ASPECTS between his venus and your planets. Better to have stressful aspects than an unaspeccted male venus (or moon.

Hiya Dulce! You know, you did make a good point with that last bit about the seventh/ eighth and fifth house for committal and noncommittal, lighthearted matters. Those houses should certainly be considered when it comes to these things, especially the fifth (although I reckon that it's probably not as promising or as serious as the seventh) because it can also describe potential dating candidates and types that appeal to you in times of romance, passion, and whatnot. I don't know why it's often overlooked. It doesn't necessarily revolve around children.
For instance, my sister has Cap on her fifth cusp and she tends to attract a lot of male Cappies though the attraction is not always mutual. And she certainly has many female friends who possess the sign.

She draws in quite a bit of earth for a double Aries but her Virgo Asc has an influence.

Mine is Sag and I've haphazardly found that celebrities I tend to find attractive have that ascendant. And I think I am highly intrigued by the wild, untamed, adventurous male image (I dunno- that kind of fits my sag schema...sorry). Add another four planets occupying that house to the bunch and I suppose you could concur my preference.

And I was thinking that my uncle's ex-wife Sun in Cap kinda works with that...

Seeing Stars, that's interesting, I'm curious, what are your sun, moon and venus placements and does your mars form any aspects to moon or venus?

VERY important IMO. Infact its my Venus/Mars Combo description that nailed my preferences in a relaitonship head on (so accurate its plain scary.)

quote:
Venus in Air, Mars in Fire (Romantic Air, Fiery Desires): You are a youthful, spirited, intelligent, and passionate lover, and you tend to be attracted to partners with similarly lively natures. It is vital that your mind is stimulated in matters of the heart, but you also feed on romantic excitement. You need a certain amount of space—freedom of movement, both physically and mentally—in any relationship, and you don't care for restrictive or possessive partners. You offer your partners a certain level of freedom to be who they are, and you appreciate the same in return. You value being friends with your partners as well as lovers. You respond most lovingly to verbal expressions of interest and affection, and you are a playful and spontaneous lover. You are turned off by partners (or potential partners) who are uncommunicative, lacking in spontaneity, or otherwise dull. You can be a real flirt, but you usually are able to deliver on your promises! Your partners find you lively, intelligent, and fun. Sexually, you are almost innocently enthusiastic and you sometimes need to be encouraged to slow down! You are able to rationalize love and feelings to a certain degree, but when your passion is aroused, you really get going.

Venus and Mars in compatible signs: Your romantic and sexual natures are similar, but varied enough to make your love life quite exciting. For the most part, you know what you want in love relationships. Your charm is subtle and natural. While you don't generally come on strong, you don't need to. There is a buzz of understated sexual and romantic energy about you that promises a good time.

Didn't I tell ya ppl that I was an individualist? Lol!

Heya Broodling! (nice name btw)

That's funny and great that you mention that it does work! Now I remember that I have taurus on the 5th house cusp and alot celebrities that appeal to me are tauruses. And with the ruler of my fifth in gemini I usually find gemini men appealing too. And then with my seventh house cusp in cancer and the ruler of the 7th in virgo/8th house I usually find virgo risings tp be very good looking and look to watery types for commitment along with alot of other traits.

I still don't think mars plays a big role in a man's chart in attraction unless its involved in his fifth, seventh, or eighth or he expresses himself through his moon or venus ONLY and completely diregards his sun or mars as a part of him (in other words, effeminite). But that's just my opinion.....don't mind me.

Is anyone actually turned on by people like that? "Baby, you're so dull, I've gotta have you right now!"
"Um, sorry, I've schedule our next lovemaking session for Thursday afternoon."
"Ooh, you know what I like!"
"...."
"Stop teasing, you know how turned on I get when you're uncommunicative."

alanabelle - thanks for the Moon/Venus suggestion, I never heard that before. So for women, would we look at the Sun/Mars midpoint for who she's both attracted to and comfortable with?

I think a man's (or woman's) Eros placement would also reveal the type of partner he's attracted to. (For those who haven't checked that asteroid yet, it's 433 at astro.com.)

Sure... Scorpios . The more you don't go prying in the happier they are .

Lol! I jest Scorpios. I think it means on a broader sense . Simply being; A person with a sense of adventure is needed in this case; Someone who is willing to explore new heights and not just planning on sitting at home and becomming a house wife (not that its a bad thing; I however am not looking for that in a partner.)

Hmmm... All of a sudden my relationship choices make so much sense LOL!

Dulce Luna and Xodian - My Venus, Mars, and descendant are all in earth signs, so I guess the description for the kind of guy I'm supposed to be attracted to is basically the kind of person you two aren't attracted to. Fine, you can enjoy your adventurous, spontaneous, witty partners and I'll take Mr. Dull. I think I'll just steal his organizer and write in dirty plans as part of his schedule.

lol, I was kidding! My bf's not dull in the least (even if he is a Taurus ), but I'm sure if he were to get a head wound and a suffer a massive personality shift that made him boring, I'd still find ways to have fun with him.
I completely agree with you about how important it is to make your own choices. In fact, that reminds me of some thoughts I've been having about karmic astrology. It's probably not a good idea to try to share my thoughts at 5am but I think I'll give it a go and start a thread.
oh and saw your post about Brad Pitt...lol! I agree, that man is beautiful. Strangely I've never found him sexy, but I do think he's gorgeous.
