Did they prescribe meds. It is a chemical imbalance. It takes 3 to 6 weeks for the meds to kick in and you need to be monitered on them. If your feeling edgy go to the emergency room. This is a condition which can be treated.IP: Logged |

Nattie.. I almost spit out my water reading your response.I almost said "Buckle up because it is going to be one hell of a mental roller coaster ride". But, in the event that language somehow got things mixed up I think I should said "Bipolun.. I have no idea what you should expect. It seems that so many suffer with bipolar / depression these days. I would ask your Dr. about treatment options and go from there". Okay.. that is all I can say IP: Logged |

Here in America, If you go to enough doctors, eventually you'll find one that will give you the diagnosis you desire. Is it the same in Romania? If so, perhaps you should try some other doctors hmm...? ------------------ Sendin' love your way, "your friend in spirit" IP: Logged |

I once had a doctor (one) who said I was bipolar. Many others claimed I was adhd, aspberger's syndrome, and oppositional defiant disorder.I heard on the news it was in 1999 20,000 kids under 19 were diagnosed bipolar and in 2003 it was 200,000. Sounds like an easy way to tell someone who is irritable, wierd, or disagreeable(not saying you are it's whatever people report to the doctor) "they have a disorder" so the drug co.s can make money and in return they pay the doctors. See therapists, not psychiatrists they;ll just prescribe you with pills to "help" your disorder it just makes you hungry, tired, or not hungry usually.

My girlfriend is having the same experience, Jessica. Personally, I'd tribute the way she is to her chart, but she's trying out the medications to see if they help her focus. She hasn't been real happy with any of them, though.IP: Logged |

Use omega3 fats okay? They are fouund in Almonds. I am a psychologist. So I can tell. They will prescribe you lithium carbonate or tegral. If you were here I would have given you "Khamira Gaozoban Ambri Jawahir Dar" of Hamdard Dawakhanna (herbal medicine company. Present in Pakistan and india).

Thank you everybody! I can tell you are all sweet people. Even the people that do not believe me I can tell you are good people. I sense who is good and who is bad. The good thing about me is that I can take critism very well and I enjoy when others try to help me! Thank you very much. I try to enjoy my life each day, as much as I can, I know sometimes I can be a little over the top but my heart is sincere, and I have a good heart believe it or not. I help those who help me, and hate those who hate others. When people are being honestly helpful, I appreciate it. When people are being sarcastic I also appreciate it because they are taking their time just for me. Hugs and kisses to all of you. IP: Logged |

Well I'm a diagnosed bi-polar and I don't take lithium bicarbonate OR tegral. I take a mild mood stabiliser usually used (in MUCH larger doses) for epileptics called sodium valproate or 'epilim'. Its good cos I can concentrate on one thing at a time for the first time ever! I still feel my feelings (very much so) but I can distract myself with art or reading when I need to. No side effects I've noticed other than slight lethargy but coffee takes care of that! Its such a hard thing to diagnose and I think it is most definately over diagnosed. I was 29 when I was diagnosed and so many things fell into place with my past atterns of behaviour. I had been diagnosed with depression off and on for years, but every time they gave me medication for that I'd stop taking it cold turkey (with no side effects- BIG warning sign) when I felt terrific, it'd take me months to slip back down again. The only reason my doctor caught it this time was cos I didn't stop taking the anti-depressants when I felt really good, so I started going manic and ended up losing the plot. Big time. So not fun. My best friend said it was like I was on speed (anger, irrational behaviour, insomnia, delusions). I even lost 15kgs in a few weeks and didn't notice except my pants didn't fit, lol! Someone said that the malefic star algol was placed in a nasty spot in my chart, but also that my bi-polar wasn't going to be a lifelong battle. There's been a few threads about this over at astro.com forum lately, go check them out they're great. IP: Logged |

Bipolun I wasn't trying to be mean. but when you said you are bipolor i took it seriously. My husband is bipolor and it took 3 years to adjust his meds to the right combo. As a person who lives with this it is no joke. The manic episodes are usually always fun for the person having them but not for the person living with them, Being up and manic for more than 3 days straight. Then crashing for 4 or more days. Not to mention the anger mood swings, If you have this condition i am truly sorry for being sarcastic. IP: Logged |

Yep.. if you are bipolar and have those experiences Nattie mentioned.. .I feel terrible for you. My mother is bipolar but undiagnosed. She has bouts of hysterionics, anger, very manic times then crashes into a well of depression. It was hard growing up with that kind of environment.I think too many drs just automatically call everyone with mood swings bipolar. It's sad for those that are truly having issues. I hope you find a great doctor and an equally great treatment plan. IP: Logged |
