Hello everyone, I'm new!
I want to start with my favorite topic, if I may - Venus in Pisces.
If I believe correctly, Venus is exalted in Pisces. I guess that means that Venus is at its best in Pisces??
So I'm wondering if any other Venus Pisces people here can comment on what it's like to have this sign.

Venus in Pisces is very idealistic & romantic position.

I can sacrifice everything for love. When I am in love, nothing matters but the object of my affection. I need to be in love to be happy.

Its very romantic to a point of trouble

I see it this way (please comment, Knowflakes):

Venus in Pisces is not at its best, but exalted - the energy of Venus is best expressed in Taurus and Libra (meaning also in the most balanced way).

Exaltation means that the energy is emphasized (more than it ideally should).

To overemphasize the energy of any planet is not good or bad in in itself, just as detriment (Venus in Aries or Scorpio) is not bad in itself. This applies to all planets, their exaltations and detriments.

In astrology we shouldn't talk about the best or worst placements for any planets, just the most natural or the least natural.

This is how I see it, anyway...

I dated a guy with Venus in Pisces. He was romantically idealistic to the point of destructiveness... then again, he had an Aries sun, Gemini moon and Aqua rising which pretty much makes for a psycho...

He had romantic ideals about everything. He was so emotionally indulgent, and indulgent in every other way possible too... sex... and then drugs... which ended up getting the best of him...

To Lana: Thanks for clarifying everything. I am a little disappointed though... All this time I was thinking I had the greatest Venus sign, and I compiled a list of celebrities with this sign. After I did, I knew what gave Celine Dion the haunting depth of emotion she puts forth in every song; I knew why both she and Barbara Streisand created a duet CD together... their Venus sign was the trademark of it; I adored Selena even more; began to love actors like Claire Danes, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ewan McGregor. I would get the astrological profile on any person that interested me, and finding out they had Venus in Pisces, regarded them as being ethereal and divinely sensitive. Call me...delusional Lol.

Lana, but I still don't see how Venus in Libra or Taurus would be best? I remember reading that Venus in a water sign makes the sweetest lover. Venus in an air and earth sign? Hmm.

Btw - in case anyone hasn't read Jeff Green's Pluto: The soul's evolution through relationships, I'll write a brief summary of what he analyzed with Venus in Pisces:
He wrote that a Venus in Pisces person has a childlike, pure, and innocent core. However, they find it easier to hide behind the different masks they create, which make it hard for people close to them to get to know the real, beautiful person behind that mask. It's only through somehow shedding the mask, that we can expose ourselves and grow. Something like that!

------------------
(: Sun in Aquarius,
Moon, Ascendant in Leo
Venus in Pisces
Mars, Jupiter, Saturn in Virgo :)

Hi Aquafaery,

I wouldn't be disappointed. I'm not!
Yes there is a flaw to loving too much. But there is a flaw to every sign regardless.

Loving the way we do is really a good thing if you fall in love with the right person. The key is to find a good person to fall in love with. Then, it's nothing less than Perfect!

Cheers,

MM

Hello
At http://www.soulfoodastrology.com/articles/teenstwo2.html I found this:
Venus in Pisces
You are oh so sweet and usually very kind. You love for love's sake, not for popularity, money, security, or any other reason. Since you are so caring, you are almost never as concerned with what people can do for you as with what you can do for them. You can easily put yourself in other people's shoes and feel what their lives must be like. You enjoy giving and receiving romantic expressions of affection, such as flowers, poetry, and music, especially if you have created these yourself. You daydream a lot and may need to make sure you see the people you love realistically. Sometimes you would rather dream about love than make it happen! You also need to watch a tendency to be taken advantage of by people who aren't as nice as you are. Some of you may be the more sneaky Pisces types, who need to learn to be direct and honest. You like quiet, soothing places, and being near water can be enjoyable for you. What you have to give: Peace. What you need to learn most: Persistence. Famous Persons with Venus in Pisces: Felicity's Keri Russell, Back Street Boys Nick Carter and Brian Littrell

I have Venus in Pisces (besides Mercury and Ascendant as well) and I really agree with it. And oddly, many times people have told me that I "give" peace... I don't know...

More Info: http://www.astrology-numerology.com/insigns-venus.html#Pisces

If Venus is in Pisces in your chart it may show a very compassionate and tender-hearted nature. You have a strong need for love and understanding, and without this you can feel lost. Thus, you may much of your time falling into and out of love. No one can experience the extreme highs and low lows faced in the love life of the Venus in Pisces.

This sensitivity marks you as a most understanding person, but one who is highly dependent and in need of a caring partner. This vulnerability is a very attractive and attracting trait. With your warmth and graciousness, you have little trouble establishing close relationships. You are inclined to become somewhat dependent in a relationship.

If this is not the case, then you may attract a partner who becomes dependent on you. This sign, more than any other, is called on to make sacrifices for the sake of loved ones. You are more likely than most to be attracted to people who take advantage of you. Your heart rules your head, and there is little that can be done about this. You have a talent for collecting those who are downtrodden, unfortunate, or in some sort of need. Using good judgment in matters of the heart will have to be a learned trait, as it doesn't come naturally.

Extreme sensitivity can leave you open to hurt. There is a tendency to suffer in silence and become very reticent. When affairs don't go well for you in a relationship, you act and feel like a martyr, and you may sometimes push this attitude a little too far. You have a fear of rejection that can make it hard to express feeling that are so deep in this placement. Strong feelings sometimes cloud reality. Your intuition is highly developed, and you relate deeply to art, poetry, nature and music. You may have special talents or just a wonderful sense of appreciation.

Dear Aquafaery,

By no means are you to be disappointed with ANY of your birth placements. They are your unique and very own placements.

It's up to you to make the best out of your Venus in Pisces ;-) Like I said, no placement is good or bad in itself; it depends on how we use the energy.

Taurus and Libra are just Venus's own signs as these signs are ruled by Venus. Just like Gemini and Virgo are ruled by Mercury, Cancer is ruled by Moon and Aries by Mars etc. The energy finds an easy way to flow when the planet is in its "own" sign.

Is it true that Venus in Pisces loves their private space to retreat to sometimes as they can pick up on negative energy around them. They make good friends as they will listen to their problems and then they tend to take on board their problems as if they were their own. They like their own company and they love flowers and having a garden. Correct me if I am wrong.
