I’ve been reading about relocation charts – and it’s fascinating!!
quote:
by travelling and discovering new, exotic places never dreamed of, one can suddenly discover oneself as a new and improved person, much happier than ever... This is what happened to me, as I relocated to London, a place where the Sun is conjunct with the Ascendant of the relocated chart.

A friend of mine travelled to Paris in her honeymoon and got pregnant while there, as promised by the Moon conjunct the Ascendant in her relocated chart for Paris.

Arnold Schwartzenegger, born in Graz, Austria, became famous and enjoyed artistic and political success in California, where his relocation chart has Jupiter in the 10th house of career, conjunct with the Midheaven.

May the grilling begin!

  • Does your asc still stay intact ( my pisces asc ) – is it still the way I see the world, and the world sees me?
  • What does the *new* asc represent? Is it how I see the UK? How folk here see me?
  • what about aspects to the natal planets? For example if I have ASC conj Venus in my natal chart & ASC square Venus in my relocation chart. What aspect is *stronger*?
  • in an old LL string someone said…for clients, I use the relocation chart when considering prog & trans.
    This is shocking to me!!
  • Say for example transit Pluto is passing my 1st house in my natal chart, but is passing my 4th house in my relocation chart. Should I only consider the 4th house? Or only the 1st house? Or both? And if considering both, which is hit more *powerfully*
  • in short, what stays and what goes?

Gotta say I’m disappointed with astrologers for not making a big deal with these charts.
astro.com dumped these at the bottom of their menu! is it they assume we will all live forever in our birth town, or do some astrologer consider this unimportant, insignificant, inaccurate even?

Aqua - I've looked at these too, I think it would be kinda like looking at a synastry chart. Comparing the two to see what effect the reloc chart has on your natal and vice versa, and then eventually reading together.
So far I've lived in UK, Australia and NZ, and I know that I feel different in each place and react differently too, also as I get older the differences are becoming less significant, (I think this is because as we grow older we become more comfortable with who we are and outside influences effect us less), but saying that I've not yet travelled to the places that are supposed to have the biggest effect on me, so maybe I should get the suitcase out again

Hi cat, the synatsy between both charts sounds interesting! especially with my relocated asc changing by 90deg it's squaring my natal asc! the whole thing has shifted.

I love Australia! and considered moving there once. The relocation chart isn't too bad for it either. I'm gonna use this to decide where my next holiday should be

I found a website giving some more info on reloaction

quote:
You never lose your natal chart, but in addition you have a relocation chart which shows somewhat different issues in the new location. Imagine a big tub of water labeled "Natal Chart", where the water represents all the energy invested in the issues described by that chart. By moving away, in effect, you drain about half of the water (energy) into another big tub labeled "Relocation Chart". As long as you live in a particular place, that relocation chart is in effect, but when you move away, it ceases to work -- except when you have to deal with people who still live there. Then the issues shown by the relocation chart will pop up again.

Yeah, I think Australia is the best place to be for many reasons. It has a sense of isolation from the rest of the world, seems to exist in it's own time and space. When I was younger this was frustrating to me, as is to many young Australians which is why, I think, Australians are some of the biggest travellers in the world, they feel the need to see what's going on elsewhere in the planet. But when you get older you truly appreciate it for what it is. The people are great, it has two distinct factions of people, those who really don't give a sh*t about polictical incorrectness and those who are so politically correct they have a vocab of about 10 words in total fear of offending someone
But in my experience, they are the happiest, most relaxed people I have ever come across, and the weather's great most of the time!
WARNING: If you go for a holiday, you won't want to leave
I'm gonna look at that website now

Fascinating - you've pointed me in a new direction Aqua
Previously I've only looked at the map thingy with the coloured lines at Astro.com, I've never used the chart thing before. It changes the ASC/DC and houses yes? Well things look very different in my current location with the new chart, particularly when you add the transits - wow

I've been to Australia quite a while back, and they're pretty laid back and everything is just so cool! I get that vibe when they're over here, just so cool and funny And the homes! huge and a fraction of what I'd have to pay here for something half the size! only down side is the weather, I really can't handle heat, which really sucks as I have this odd attachment to australia, almost like I've lived there before.

You found the relocation chart! I just discovered it yesterday! Amazing right!

Hi AI - did you see this guys take? click on AI's link below
Huge amount of research incl. and the bottom line is that we all know the earth has an energy field. Astrocartography taps into another layer. He uses Picasso and many, many, others to
illustrate his point.
    * this is the best read/link I've had all year btw.

UK weather is miserable cat! My grandpa came a few weeks ago from Sweden and he kept complaining about the weather can you imagine. He was glad when he returned home! Unlike Scandinavia and Germany, the UK just seems to grey and dull. If I could handle heat I would come running to oz

Node that article is very detailed! I'm just getting into it and it's amazing so far!

LAP - does this mean the planet that is least aspected by the other planets, i.e does it include aspects to say asteroids or vertex etc. Does Chiron count as a planet in this explanation?
Would you mind looking at my chart and telling me what is my LAP (sorry to be a dunce ) ignore the transits

'Grey' is the perfect description for the UK Aqua

Cat- Rob Couteau has a huge amount of info on that site. It took days for me to assimilate it all. And I return to it again and again. learning more. Noel Tyl has a quote in there saying something similar. i.e time.

I think my LAP is Venus, and secondary is Mars (my head hurts )
But this is not that helpful if my 'good' hotspots are flipping Iceland - how many people re-locate to Iceland for goodness sakes??
So if you want your career to go off with a bang, would relocating to a DS place help?

It seems from the quotes in the first post that they compare the natal chart of the city to your relocation chart.

Does anyone have a link or website that you can look up the natal charts for places?

I tried to google, but didn't have much luck.

I'm interested in comparing the places that I've lived to see how accurate it comes out!

Thanks!
