I had my chart done by an astologer and she told me that my chart would be a "terrible burden" in my life. She said it would make life a huge challenge for me and that she was surprised I'd been able to hold it together so far!!

Are some charts just naturally "bad"?

Such doomsaying astrologers should be shot in the head! Those creeps do not understand the basic Uni-Versal law, and still spread wrong messages like cancer!

geminilibrarising - no charts are good or bad, the charts are a sign posts as to how we should channelise our energy and the power of freewill. Charts and Astrology is a guide - not an end to itself.

So, my suggestion would be concentrate on areas you have possible "weaknesses" work upon it, and focus on the areas of "strengths" so that you can leverage upon - and ACT upon life in general.

Good luck

I agree with Moon....

No birthchart is good nor bad, some more challenging than others, but quite frankly I am SO ready to fill my karma and get on with things...bring on the challenges!!!

I have 3 tsquares in fixed signs in my chart that all contact my asc as well... while my poor little mutable Pisces sun sits alone....uh...challenges??? Yup!!!

My life is full of them, however, I am so grateful for the experiences in my lifetime and I have had some doozies, but they have made the woman I am today at my ripe old age of 45!

Hello geminilibrarising and Welcome to Linda-Land
I'm really glad you found this place.

As my Saggie brother Sattvic Moon has already said this astrologer was very irresponsible. A chart is drawn to show potentials, what could be, and to guide our paths towards positive spiritual growth.

If you have the time I would strongly suggest that you learn to read your own chart. Here is an excellent link to get you started The author "Tim" is a member here as well. or you may choose to join the free astrology class here at Linda-Land...

Good luck to you on the adventures ahead!

note to hippichick, you have a really cute personality. I always enjoy your responses

Oh for heaven's sake
Calling one's natal chart a "terrible burden" is the silliest thing I've heard in awhile
Natal charts are a map of *potentials*, nothing more nor less. You are not destined to do or be anything. You have innate skills, flaws and personality traits -- but your early environment and family have as much (or more) influence than the positions of any cosmic bodies.
If this astrologer was going to focus on negative aspects, at least she could have pointed out specific areas of challenges, instead of pronouncing the Doom and Gloom she did -- she did you a real disservice and probably took your money too, eh?? I would have been staring at her open-mouthed when she announced that she was surprised you had made it this far!!!
Put it behind you and come study here at LL

Are you sure she didn't refer to a particular aspect or quality in your chart as a burden, rather than the chart overall?

While I agree that it's an inappropriate comment that I would never make in a session with a client, I would be interested to hear the remark in the context of the whole session!

Lucia

I don't remember her exact words but she told me that my chart was "very difficult". She also said she was surprised that I seem such a "stable" person with a chart like that (she knew me a little socially). She did tell me that the chart was very unbalanced and was almost all air. That's all I remember, apart from the slightly horrified look on her face, lol

Atleast she was right - she have you unsettled and unbalanced as of now with that statement!

hahahahaha........ don't worry friend, just understand, and make amendments! It is all a WITHIN FACTOR.

Mine IS a terrible burden. Stop being so wishy-washy people. Of course there are positive and negative charts, and charts with 'huge burdens'.
Gem'Librising - it might help to actually post a picture of your chart wheel up so people can make a fair assessment. Otherwise you're relying on a load of drips coming on and saying everything's rosy, when what you want is the truth

**I had my chart done by an astologer and she told me that my chart would be a "terrible burden" in my life **
did she say why ??? ..
i've just looked at your chart .. can't really see why she would say that ..
your sun and mercury are at a wide square aspect to pluto and lillith ..
but why 'a terrible burden' ???

"your sun and mercury are at a wide square aspect to pluto and lillith"

Thanks for looking at my chart. What does that mean about sun and merc being at wide square aspects, if you don't mind me asking?

***What does that mean about sun and merc being at wide square aspects, **

i'm talking about the aspect 'orb' ..
ok .. for a pluto aspect it isn't that 'wide' .. ( - 2.34 degree )
.. that minus sign means it's a 'separating aspect' ..
some astrologers give pluto a fairly wide orb .. maybe 12 degrees or more ..
which means its 'orb' .. ( if at 12 degrees ) .. is 6 degrees either side of its exact position

~ http://www.happydragon.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/jkbx/Intro.to.aspects.html ~

on the other hand .. your sun and mercury are at 'close' aspect ..
the aspect is a 'conjunction' the degrees are ..
29.36 for the sun ..
and 29.54 degrees for mercury ..
so the seperation of that aspect is less than 1 degree ..
therefore making it a 'close' aspect ..

'wide' aspects are not as strong in effect as 'close' aspects ..
but with a wider aspect ... a transiting planet will ..
hit one placement .. then the midpoint between .. then the final placement ..
making it seem like an extended transit ..

so .. to check that out ..
note how you feel between the 20th of sept. thru till the 2nd of oct.
that's when transiting mars will ..
1 .. square natal pluto ... then
2 .. conjoin natal sun and mercury ( 28th sept aprox ) .. then
3 .. square natal lillith ..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
aprox. from mid august till now .. you've experienced transiting saturn squaring your natal saturn ( in 7th house ) ..
did life seem like some sort of 'burden' then ??
is it why you approached an astrolger in the first place ??
she may have been talking of natal saturn being in your 7th
together with its aspects .. opposing neptune and jupiter in 1st house ..
maybe all sorts of relationships might seem like a burden from time to time
on the other hand 'relationships' could be your biggest 'teacher' thru life ..
the sun square pluto aspect might make you feel like needing control of your enviroment .. and feeling a bit too intense from time to time .. when things are not under your control .. it might effect your temper ..
being a 'separating' aspect .. it's effect could lessen as you go thru life ..
anyhow for interpretations of the various aspects ..
try reading interps from various websites .. various books ..
in other words .. seek various opinions ..
you'll probably find a common thread running thru the interps.
~ http://www.happydragon.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/jkbx/audiofls.html ~
any idea why she labled your chart as a 'terrible burden' ??
can you ask her for a clarification regarding that decription ??
suggestion :
ask the same question over at the astro.com forum ..
Thanks Happy Dragon!
The astrologer I consulted told me that I had a "crazy" amount of Air in my chart and "not enough" Fire, Earth or Water. I think that's why she thought my chart was such a mess. The majority of it is Gemini with Mars in Aqua and Ascendent in Libra. She made out that I'd find it very hard to keep my feet on the ground and lead a stable life!
