Hi,

Just humor me please if my question seems lame. Recently I started learning about astrology. I understand the concept about people born on the cusp related to the sun sign. But I'm wondering does this also apply to the Ascendant?

I came across someone whose possesses Taurus/Gemini qualities on the Ascendant.
Some charts show Taurus at 29 48` or Gemini 0 24`. Is this possible? If so, how can someone draw a correct chart?

Gemini shows in one house and some astroids, but zero on Taurus {except the Ascendant in some charts}. I'm a bit confused.

Thanks

Go to astro.com

They are more accurate.

You are either one or the other, but will most likely carry both energies.

I'm born 2 days after the cusp of Pisces/Aries.
I've looked up somewhere that this is still a cusp and the person can carry both traits. Actually, If you know the sign you were ACTUALLY born in and you don't feel like you fit the description or stereotype of the sign, it is because the cusp. I find that happening to me very often. Often times I cannot even understand my sign. I feel different than the average Aries.

I'm just an Aries who's madly in love with a Virgo.

I was born on the cusp of my rising sign. For a long time I had no idea if my rising sign was Aries (like astro.com says) OR Taurus (like astrocenter.com says). Finally I asked here and someone said I was born right on the cusp of them both and carry both qualities and you know, I researched both signs and I am totally Aries/Taurus mixed! So now, instead of reading 2 horoscopes, I read 3! LOL!

My mom was born with her Ascendant on the Virgo/Libra cusp. She looks more Libran than Virgoan and she has character traits from both signs (although Virgoan traits dominate).

Hiya! I was born on the cusp between the Taurus and Gemini Sun sign, and whilst you can only be one sign or the other, I definitely do feel the Gemini vibe up in my head sometimes! Plus, it is also the sign I get most mistaken for when people are trying to guess!!! So there must be something in it....!

However, unlike the Sun Sign boundaries, the Houses are less clear cut and your or your friends ascendant can most DEFINITELY be a bit of both signs, if it's on the cusp. Here are some of the descriptions for cusps - just use them to apply to your ascendant I guess!

I don't know where to find this info, but does anyone know at what degrees a sign/planet has to be to qualify as a "cusp"?

I know my sun is on the cusp of Leo(born 8/24) and for the year I was born, if I had been born 12 hours earlier I would have been a Leo. So I'm at 0 degrees Virgo. But my moon is at 2 degrees Aries and my Ascendant 9 degrees Scorpio.

What is the cut off for being on the "cusp"?

Thank you.

Edited to add - been looking this up and I'm finding answers of 2, 3, and 5 degrees in either direction as being the "cut off."

Re-Edited to add - ok, if 5 degrees is the "cut off" then my Asc. is firmly in Scorpio but I have "cusps" on my Sun(Leo/Virgo), Moon(Pisces/Aries), Venus(Leo/Virgo), Mars(Taurus/Gemini), Uranus(Libra/Scorpio), and "True Node"(Whatever that is - Scorpio/Sag).

No wonder I'm always so darn confused!

Thanks, a Taurus/Gemini Ascendant {Gemini dominance}

Simply, I'm a bullheaded twin, who is also an OCD analytical perfectionist {Virgo moon}. Throw in valuing space, like breathing air...no wonder I've been told my sense of logic is in it's own class.

BTW, I'm a Cancer and been mistaken for a Capricorn many times.
