What in a persons natal chart would indicate some form of insanity or mental illness...would it be afflicted Neptune with heavy Mars, mabe unaspected Moon? GeminiLover75 unregistered	posted October 01, 2007 06:17 AM I think it might depend on what kind of disorder you're looking at... what do you mean by insane - violent psychopath, paranoid schizophrenic? Or the realm of psychological or mental health disorders that are less of a danger to society but regardless, not within the 'norm'? There could be different placements/aspects for specific disorders. IP: Logged
belgz unregistered	posted October 01, 2007 01:08 PM Well i know someone who has schitzophrenia and she has her 8th house ruler 6th house ruler and 12 house ruler all the the 12 house opposing neptune in the 6th. She lived as perfect life till about 30 and then started hearing voices one day. She mentioned that she would hear doors opening and closing all the time mostly at night time. Neptune causes illusions and its opposed her mars saturn and venus all in 12th. So yes she has a mars neptune opposition like mentioned above. I think 12th house planets can effect peoples psychological well being. My close friends whos gay has saturn in 12th and has psychological problems also. Saturn doesnt go well in 12th. Neither does pluto! Saturn conjunct mars causes depression if its badly afflicted. Virgo and gemini can cause anxiety problems. etheric distortion unregistered	posted October 02, 2007 04:00 AM perhaps somethings aren't always shown in the natal chart. for instance...assume that excessive alcohol and/or drug abuse contribute to some forms of mental illness.... What would most likely be shown in a chart..the propensity for alcohol and/or drug abuse, or the potential for mental illness? What came first..the chicken or the egg? I think in ALL charts, their is an element of free will. PERHAPS, one could deduce "tendencies" toward a particular behavior, but, could one honestly claim to deduce the results of that behavior so specifically that they could claim to have located the astrological significators of any sort of specific mental disease? I would tend to doubt that.. BUT, that's just my opinion, and I could be wrong IP: Logged

How about this - the natal chart can indicate tendencies, eg maybe a Neptune aspect that might indicate potential alcohol or drug abuse for example. But as to whether or not a psychological disorder develops later in life, maybe we would look at secondary progressions? Or it could even relate to transits to the secondary progression chart... ?? Melinda unregistered	posted October 02, 2007 08:10 AM i agree that every chart has an element of free will. i would also suggest that the same aspects that can cause mental illness can also be indicative of healing, spirtual awakrning and/or psychic potential. for example, i sometimes hear voices, but have never been treated for mental illness, nor do i consider them a symptom of mental imbalance. rather it is "clairaudience" or "third ear activity". i would say the difference between me and a schizophrenic is how we react to hearing voices and having visions. oh, i have 1st house neptune and moon, they are probably responsible, plus no earth signs and uranus conj scorp asc exact orb...
