Hi all,I have stumbled across an article by Maritha Pottenger.(http://www.ccrsdodona.org/m_dilemma/1981/sag/aspects.html)
In that article she was writing about aspects and rolling conjunctions, meaning that if you come across a stellium of planets and the outer planets (at either edge of the stellium) are clearly out of orb, the middle planets, which are in orb to at least one of the "edge-planets", pull those in, and they are working like one large conjunction.
I have an example from a synastry (I`m leaving out the asteroids for now):
her Mars: 05° Sagittarius
his Neptune: 06° Sagittarius
her ASC: 07° Sagittarius
his ASC: 09° Sagittarius
her NN: 10° Sagittarius
her Neptune: 10° Sagittarius
his Venus: 13° Sagittarius
So, her Mars and Venus are 8° apart, so usually I wouldn`t call that a conjunction anymore.
According to Pottenger`s theory they would nevertheless be felt like a conjunction, because her Mars conjunct his Neptune; his Neptune conjunct her ASC; her ASC conjunct his ASC; his ASC conjunct her NN; her NN conjunct his Venus - and this rolling conjunction would pull her Mars and his Venus into an aspect.
Furthermore the exact conjunction (0°54) of his ASC and her NN fall onto the midpoint between Mars and Venus, with 4°/ 3° to either side; I guess that could also mean, there is a Venus-Mars-connection connected through / with the help of NN/ ASC.
Another example:
His Mercury: 20° Sagittarius
His Karma: 20° Sagittarius
her: Mercury: 25° Sagittarius
her Sun: 26° Sagittarius
The conjunction Of his Mercury / Karma and her Sun would be VERY wide, too wide for my taste. Would it make a difference, if Uranus was on 23° Libra, sextiling both, Merfcury / Karma and Sun?
Probably in this case both person would depend on Uranus to be active to actually FEEL that connection between Sun and Karma, like it would be dormant most of the times, but might "wake up", whenever Uranus is getting strong Transits?
What do you think of it`? Do you have experiences with such "rolling conjunctions"? Do they actually work this way?
