CUZ.. i mean, it is IN one house so why pretend it is in the next one? i understand it having a sort of momentum thing and maybe being coloured by the energy of the next house, but why interpret it entirely as if it's in a house it is not in??

could you interpret it as if it is in BOTH houses? is that more accurate? and would it sort of be, then, that you bounce between both sort of ways of being, or maybe even somehow have a uniquely fused sort of energy encompassing both ways of being??

what do you think? and what is the Official explaination? thanks!!

As I've heard it described, the boundaries between houses are less solid. I read about it here.

quote:
Finally, we can address Helena's question about interpreting planets on the cusps of houses. This is mostly a Natal question, actually. In horary and electional astrology, a planet is only ever in one house at a time; any planet applying within 5 degrees of the next house cusp is read as being in the following house. Natal astrology, and natal houses, however, are not nearly as cut and dried. Personally, when interpreting natal houses, I very much take a "blending" approach, particularly because there is a natural transition between the affairs of one house to the affairs of the next. A planet leaving one house and entering another will very much resonate with the affairs of both houses.

And here

quote:
All of that being said, I'll share my approach to the Houses in natal interpretation: I pay attention to the angles, and the quadrants, and give a lot of leeway for the intermediate Houses. I feel that the Houses, much more than the Signs, flow easily into each other. With the Signs, there's no middle ground - 29 degrees of Taurus is still 100% Taurus, and 0 degrees of Gemini is 100% Gemini. But there isn't such a clear distinction between the 2nd and 3rd Houses, for example.

To illustrate, the 2nd House is where we look for (and find) things that will reinforce our sense of self - anything that we can call our own we find in the 2nd House. This includes our talents, skills and abilities, as well as our personal property. Well, at the start of the 2nd House, we can't tell the difference between ourselves and what's ours, but as we move through the 2nd House, we are gradually able to make distinctions and realize that we are separate from the objects around us. By the end of the 2nd House, we understand that we're surrounded by things that aren't a part of us, and we're ready to start to explore, to make sense of our environment and our relationship to it, and by this time, we're in the 3rd House. If a client has a planet near the end of the 2nd House in the Koch system, (which is what I use for natal charts) I'm going to also blend some of the 3rd House influences when I interpret this position.
