I'm sure everyone feels misunderstood at some point in their life, but I feel like I'm becoming all too aware that I am generally misunderstood. I read an interpretation that says the same thing, because my Sun is opposite my AC.

From cafe astrology:

quote:
She can face conflicts in life due to a projection of character that doesn't match what is on the inside. Misrepresentation of the self is frequent. She must strive to understand how others perceive her and work on presenting a more accurate persona to the world, or she will rub people the wrong way or feel unrecognized and misunderstood.

Any comments or experiences with this position?

Another sun opposition Asc here: misunderstood is the story of my life.

I've got sun opp ASC too in the 7th. We tend to project parts of our identity onto others, so I've learned to try and own my projections and all parts of myself - I think this is what causes the "misunderstood" part, because when you are projecting you are not owning all parts of yourself, and this causes confusion for other people, and in turn for us.

Yeah, I've got my Mercury and Neptune in 7th, and Jupiter, Sun, and Psyche conjunct DC. I definitely look to experience those energies through other. Hehe, if I could only find another Sun opp AC, maybe we could force these energies out of each other =P

I know what you mean. I have Sun Opposite Asc (even though it's not quite dead-on) and Mercury on the cusp of 7/8 (some interpret it as in the seventh, some in the eighth, and some in both). It's like it's bad enough sending and receiving warped messages about my intentions already, but I must rectify myself through those I associate with. Its weird.

Yeah, my sun's also in the seventh conjunct the DC. What happens is that I use the tough Cappy rising to cover-up (or 'compensate' for ) the sensitive and vulnerable Cancer sun, unfortuantely it backfires ALOT. I think it depends largely on the signs involved coz I could see a Libra-Aries or Gem-sag having a wayyyy easier time with this but don't quote me on that.

Dulce Luna, I'm definitely with you on compensating with my AC. But I actually do feel that compensating for Sag with my Gem AC is inadequate and unfulfilling. I think Gem and Sag are hard to differentiate on the surface, but Sag energy is more sensitive, naive, and trusting than Gem energy. We Sag's make ourselves more vulnerable than Gem's. Plus, I only have my N. node there, no planets (and it's 25 deg. Gem, so maybe my Gem energy isn't so solid). I do have planets in air signs, but they're in Libra and Aquarius - vastly different from Gem.

Kat, I have always attracted unusual partners, rich in mind but funny enough usually poor. Though I think that's my Neptune on DC needing to find people I can rescue and idealizing them to boot.

Yeah, same here re: my Cap Asc/ Cancer sun kind of because Cap kind of represses emotional expression and is paternal while the cancer is maternal and wears emotions on sleeves. So when I only portray Cap, I feel unsatisfied with the world and everyone as a result. But then when I loose control emotionally during something tragic and the emotional cancer sun shows itself, I feel like a moron afterwards and become Cap again. I mean, I am pretty moody but definitely NOT that emotionally expressive to the point that I cry at the drop of a hat....even when I want to.

Goshhh, when will this unbalance end?!!!!

Not married, even though it feels like it. (in a relationship)

I'm a gemini sun with sag asc with neptune there, I really don't find this any "easier" because I have a pisces moon on the ic squaring both - so I have a nice war going on there in a tsquare - but I've had to develop a lot to overcome it, so I guess it works out in the end.

Hi PaidVacation, I have this too-It does not really help at first with like-minded people as my mother has this aspect and we did not speak for many years. We both needed to be grounded and find ourselves. What is good is that I had to work through a lot of guilt about other people-without her influence and now I do not feel so taken advantage of (except by a Pisces).

I do notice when my boundaries are crossed, and I have no guilt about making money which was a huge problem when I was younger.

Now I attract tons of people and make money off them with no qualms. Anything I do with people makes me happy and produces, however I have to remember everyday that I am the consumer and I am not there to serve others.

At one point in my life I rewrote myself-rewriting my life plan and cutting everyone I knew out in order to start over.

I've had to do this several times at the end of relationships.

I do not become rich through romantic relationships but then again I don't do well in them as well as friendships. That is because the 7th is ruled by Gemini. I'm not lighthearted by nature so I need to have positive energy all the time.

I did attract wealthy partners at first now I attract those with more friends than money.

As for my mother she had a very tough time of it, and needed to work through many issues with money as she did not benefit in her marriage except through her children.

Which was tough because I left for years.
She did benefit through her parents and friends, and I the same as I will inherit.

My "life" partners do produce wealth for me but they were not necessarily romantic partners. They usually wanted to feel good about themselves.

I feel too much pressure for now to be in a romantic relationship full-time.

I do attract those who want to change me and at one time I changed my hair colour several times. I am much happier when I write my own destiny but it's a struggle. Poeple around me seem to be so down on themselves.

What I tell my mother is what I tell myself is to surround yourself with happy people no matter what, it's critical to be secure about your own identity.

Her sun is in Scorpio opposite her Gemini Ascendant, my Sun is Taurus opposite Sag Ascendant so we are involved in the same things but we fight too.

I do not believe having Sun opposite Ascendant is the same as having many planets in the 7th, it's not partner oriented. It's more losing yourself in a role, what others expect.
