Just wondering... I always hear that Jupiter transiting your 12th house means hidden protection. Does that mean you'll always be protected from, say, a real catastrophe while you're having this transit?

I ask because (surprise surprise) Jupiter is transiting my 12th, and this year I had an accident, slow healing, etc. Could it potentially have been worse if Jupiter *wasn't* transiting my 12th?

Incidentally, my sister has Jupiter in 12th natally, and it's as though she's always having narrow escapes... or despite having bad accidents she always comes through ok.

I have this placement natally, and it is true about it feeling like a guardian angel that is hidden and watching to make sure you are protected...I have had instances where I should been a lot worse off than expected, for example I was in a car accident a few years back and the car almost rolled(very close)...but for some unknown reason it didn't, thank goodness and I wasn't that badly hurt. But it's stuff like that I feel I have unusual protection from. But I still wouldn't pretend to be Evil Knievel

Maybe this is a "guardian angel" placement natally...but in my experience with it as a transit, it just sucks! I really noticed it this year when Jupiter kept retrograding into my 11th house, and then going direct back into my 12th house. When it went back into the 11th, I got lots of invitations from friends and had quite a bit of luck. For me, when it goes into the 12th, it's all loneliness and darkness and the feeling of certain people being against me (which is not part of my usual outlook on life.)

I'm excited to have it move into my first house this January.

Yeah I can't say I've felt all that great with it transiting my 12th either.

My sister has had some ridiculously close calls - like when a sheet of metal fell off some scaffolding and sliced the back of her head. Obviously it was a bad accident, with a huge flap of skin coming off from her head and blood everywhere, but the doctors at the hospital said that if the metal had hit a fraction closer she could have been brain damaged - the actual words they said were "someone was looking out for you!". Now that's Jupiter in 12th!!!

She also got electrocuted twice from an electric fence a year or so ago - I'm talking about an electric charge so big it threw her whole body backwards. She's very accident prone but has escaped serious injury so far.

Oh my gosh! How does your sister cope with all the near misses...I'd have to say that is Jupiter in 12th working overtime, and than some. Hey is there anyway you could post her chart I am curious to see what she has connected with that Jupiter?

Sure! I'll do it next. I've never analysed her chart in detail except for the obvious things that jump out at me like her T-square in the first house.

Chart is on the way...

Her chart looks pretty normal, but she has Saturn next to her True Node...that could mean difficult lessons to be learned(even dangerous ones)which might be why she is in such situations?

Yessssssssssss. I hadn't noticed that before, but that's very definitely the case, especially being at the apex of that t-square.
