Can someone fix the search tool on the website? It works for certain forums, but it will not work when I try to do a search for subjects in the astrology forum. It works for soul unions and a few other forums, but there are so many others that will not work. I do not know who to go to to try to address the issue, so I am trying to just post a comment on it.**The only reason is that I have numerous questions and I hope to knock out most of them by finding old posts. That way people won't get bored of my constant repeating of questions that have already been answered somewhere on the website. You could always write to Randall, webmaster@linda-goodman.com.....
It was fabulous when the Search function DID work in this forum a couple years ago -- what an asset to noobs such as I!!!
I'm not sure if it's a money issue, but one of the Knowflakes has even volunteered her programming skills for free -- don't know what has become of that offer.....~ Zala IP: Logged |

It's a glitch with this form of UBB. The site is just too huge. There are three solutions: A mass pruning (not something I want to lose), upgrading the UBB to a later version (all the smilies currently posted will show as broken links), or have no search function on the large Forums. Sadly, the last one is the lesser of two evils. I was thinking of removing it completely, and then the issue may not come up as much.  ------------------

Thank you for your prompt response Randall. Oh well, I guess I'll have to just do it the old fashion way...by reading every post on here...LOL. I have already went through hundreds of pages on the website, I was only hoping to cut out half the work. I'm always looking for shortcuts.

It's getting more and more cluttered each day because new posts repeating the same issues, questions and ideas are formed. You will surely need to prune to fix all the clutter sooner or later, why not reduce it's happening to begin with? Please see this quick example: Click here *please read my comment to this page... There are literely 100's of subjects like this! We all love this place!!! Information is getting deeper and deeper burried because of this lack of organization. This can be fixed? Let's do it. I too, vollunteer to participate in whatever capacity I may be of use. PLEASE...  ------------------

Agree. Please, we need that search function! I don't see how smilies can be that important... I, for example, disable smilies in all my posts.I use this :)instead IP: Logged |

I agree with YFIS & Vintry, Randall. Smilies are a small price to pay. Yes, I know they're your favorite smilies and each and every one of them is an old friend, but the Search function is important here. Google just doesn't do it as well.....Would you concur that Crucial astrological information that's buried in 295 topics pages worth of threads could be more important to the large group of people here than just the available smilies?? Many people use smilies from other smilies-sites anyway..... Please consider the upgrade. If it means an uptick in web-host charges, then we can start a donations-drive again  IP: Logged |

My 2 Cents The current Astrology page of 50 post's contains 26 strings that really belong in Soul Unions, or at the very least Free For All. Of those we have scintillating topics such as: What Sun sign are you? And what attracts you My Boyfriend is Gay Are Pisces attracted to Leo? get me an answer Do the Mods have the ability to move threads? And if they don't could that option be entertained as well? The archives could feasibly be cut by 50% with no harm done.  ~NIP: Logged |
