The other day I was talking to my college adviser about switching to a Cultural Studies major with a minor in Journalism. I'm making a switch from wanting to be just a Journalist to working for Foreign Aid agencies such as UNICEF, and I don't mean just volunteer work. I want to work my way up to change the failing system of emergency aid. Right now, USAID and the entire UN are failing to improve anything in the world. I can go on and on about how the World Trade, World Bank, the UN, and the European Union are worsening poverty, but I won't.

Well, I told the adviser about this and she just looked at me like I was this ranting maniac. She made me explain my 10-year plan and my financial situation now and what I plan on doing to support myself while I'm still at the bottom of the ladder (volunteer) and tried to convince me to stay a journalism major.

I explained everything to her. I explained wanting to teach English abroad until I was 25 (the age you can volunteer) and then look for an internship opportunity and then apply for a job, etc etc. I poured my heart out talking about how I feel about poverty and how we're failing and wasting money on developing projects that never fully develop. After an hour, she told me to think about changing my major over the weekend and to see her again on Wednesday.

....

I'm pretty sure on Wednesday this woman will make my life a living hell to change my major and will send me a million departments just to waste my time since I'm leaving her beloved department. Soooo I've decided to be witty and make an entire astrological report on why I am destined to change majors during my one hour meeting with her. You know, pictures and charts and everything.

Thoughts?

Kudos to you, MP!! I think you have a fine plan
I don't think telling her that transiting Pluto (transformation) is applying to conjoin your natal Saturn/Uranus conjunction in the 3rd house (Education) will do any good.....

(**Zala imagines her blinking owlishly at you then calling the men in the white coats**)

lol, it's funny because i read this:

quote:
Pluto Transits Through Your Third House: During this transit, when you talk, people are more likely to listen, whether you want them to or not. Pluto makes you come on stronger when you speak, but you are not likely to feel anything different, at least until you notice that people are reacting differently to you. The Third House rules siblings and neighbors as well. Pluto transits brings things up from deep inside. If there are stress aspects from transiting Pluto, watch out for trouble here. Any fight or dispute with siblings or neighbors, that develops during this time, could last a long time. On the other hand, if you handle it right, your relationships here could be totally transformed and strengthened. If you are in an occupation such as sales, writing advertising copy, or even therapist, this transit can help you. Your words seem to have extra power now to influence people.
