I'm a messy person [sag moon] but there is some method to my madness because of my virgo rising. I notice when my things have been moved. Once one of my roommates moved a shampoo bottle. She moved it about 2 inches towards my air conditioner and the shampoo label was facing my bed. It was facing my window before I left. I'm big on cleanliness, I like to get my things as germ free as possible. So I big on lysol, alcohol and clorox. How does your rising sign affect your personality?IP: Logged |

I have a Virgo rising too, and i am messy but i FREAK OUT when people mess with my messiness. I do notice when someone has moved my mess somewhere else.
I have certain habits, small things that are part of my everyday routine, like using alcohol for pharmaceutical applications frequently, olive oil soap, vinegar [it's a domestic wonder], etc.
But i am messy.
Venus + Uranus squaring my Asc.
Merc. in Leo/12th H - don't know if those are to blame for it.

Sag probably is the messiest sign!  My OH is Virgo rising and is a clean freak, lol! My Leo rising manifests in mainly positive ways - I'm a happy, sociable person and a bit of an entertainer amongst my friends I guess. I throw great parties and make a pretty good hostess. And after all that complimenting of myself you can see that vanity is another side-effect!!!  I also have thick, waist length hair - my mane! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!! I'm a Sag rising and I wish I saw more of it. Stress tends to make my rising sign disappear and my Scorpio moon takes over. Generally my rising sign makes me happy and optimistic, talkative, and nothing really bothers me. But over a long period of stress it's hard to be my usual Sag rising self. IP: Logged |

I'm a Scorpio Rising. I get really suspicious when I find out that someone likes me, whether it be a male or female...because I don't see myself as very likeable, nor do I wear an inviting expression on my face,lol. But when a male is interested in me, I tend to get cold and start scrutinizing everything about him, and wonder if there is ever an ulterior motive. *sigh* Can be a real killer when trying to start a nice relationship, lol. When a female is interested in me, as in wants to hang out, I get suspicious too, and I don't even know why! Thoughts like, "Are you serious? You want to hang out with moi? But why? I looks so moody and you're so chippy and inviting, aren't you afraid that I'm gonna eat you later for dinner if you happen to tick me off?" Lol, I am so paranoid! But I have Jupiter at the end of my 1st, so after a round of being paranoid, I ease into a more laid-back mood.IP: Logged |

ciao - As a Scorpio Rising myself, your post cracked me up. I frequently laugh at my own paranoia.I'm pretty guarded and slow to let people into my inner circle. Hell, not only my inner circle, but even around my circumference. I don't like to spend social time with people until I've already decided that they're good people and our relationship would be worthwhile. I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing (I'm sure it's saved me from a lot of drama and heartache and feelings of boredom), but it does make it hard for me to relate to the world more casually.
I've loosened up with age though, and no longer automatically reject a possible experience just b/c it doesn't appear like it will be very meaningful. For instance, in the past I would always turn down a party invitation if of the people attending, I knew I didn't care much for any of them. Now, I'm more likely to attend and appreciate the experience for whatever it does offer. Even with more informal things...a colleague who I haven't yet clicked with inviting me to get a drink with him/her; in the past, I'd always say no, now sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. (My Capricorn Venus likely enhances my reserve. I suppose one way to look at that combo is that my Capricorn Venus + Scorpio Asc = a reservation in developing relationships or experiencing social situations that appear to be more superficial than deep and meaningful. Virgo rising as well.. ^_^ I'm a bit messy and lazy sometimes (my Aries stellium?), but even so, I always know where my stuffs are (ordered mess?), and I always clean the stuffs if they get too messy..
My rising is also my annoying conscience, telling me how I should improve myself, how I should responsible and not lazying around, etc. etc.. *_*; I can be critical to myself, although not too much, as I tolerate myself to have flaws, just not tolerating myself to be lazy and not improving myself after knowing my faults (a person can have flaws, but we can't just sit there and justify ourselves with that, while not trying to improve ourselves)..
And I give lotsa importance to manners, charisma and intelligence.IP: Logged |

My Husband is a Virgo rising (Sun and Moon as well) He's so messy with his things.. but the man showers a few times a day. Constantly washes his hands... he's a germ and dirt freak! LOL
I'm a Scorpio rising and I notice one thing I never give you the entire story.. When I tell you about something I have this need to hold something back. I don't know why but I just hate giving up all the details LOL Yes paranoid as well.. I want to feel you out before I open up to you.

Ahh i thought everyones responses were soo funny especially about virgo rising cause i have a virgo rising and i seem to be the same as everyone else and my dad has scorpio rising also. I can be a very messy person but i hate it if someone contributes to my mess or is messy and dirty i shower ten times a day and have all my antiseptic hand washes all in my bag and carry them around with me everywhere. I worry alot . I even worry about getting sick off other people and even avoid sexual contact because i can be paranoid they might have an STD. I think my virgo asc is at 27 degrees but i have all the negative traits and i hate it. I have gem moon and cancer sun which doesnt make things any better for me. I have weird moments where i can get angry over the towel being moved and not hung back on the hook properly or something being out of place and i always secretly watch other people to see how hygienic they are too. I hate dirty people it will repulse me. But like i said i can be messy too... But its ok if im messy lol------------------

Sag rising here. I think my rising sign makes me far more social that I would be without it. I can strike up a conversation with just about anyone. I also love travel, foreign cultures and foods. I think my rising sign combined with my 8th house Sun and Mercury gives me a deep interest in spiritual and philosophical matters. I think I am also far more honest and open than many stereo typical Cancers. I tend to vocalize what’s going on inside me a lot. If something hurts me, I always try to talk about it before retreating into my shell. I attribute this kind of emotional honesty to my Sag ascendant. On the negative side, I have days I like to call “Sagittarius days” where all my Cancerian tact flies out the window, and I manage to bluntly blurt out all kinds of silly things before properly thinking through what I’m saying. On those days, I realize how my words might be interpreted a split second after opening my mouth and spend the next few minutes feeling horrible, disassembling and trying to make amends. All in all, I love my ascendant and the way it balances my Sun Sign – I’d be a much sadder, more moody little crab without it. IP: Logged |

Same here! As like you, I've also learned to loosen up with age and accept invitations even it might not be my cup of tea. I've got an Earth Venus too, Virgo...and it sextiles my Asc. Definitely reserved as well. SilverFairy, quote:

Well said! I don't like spilling all the beans at once either! Not because I want to seem mysterious or enigmatic, but because I'm not sure if they'll use certain info against me later on down the road...so paranoid, lol. God bless us Scorpio risers. Capricorn rising.
I think it makes me more logical rather than emotional than my Scorpio sun.
And both I think make me very concerned about germs and hygene. I too use lysol and wipes and use it even on grocery carts.
I will not touch a doorknob bare handed or a faucet. I use my cane to flush a toilet.
I also sterilize my toothbrush every day.
I get grossed out easier than most Scorpios too I think.
Also I refuse to consume food prepared without gloves by anyone with long fingernails. I know damn well there is no way to sterilize those things, and like at one get together I noticed the hostess did not wash her hands after using the bathroom..and she was b!tching about her time of the month....
I got grossed out and left before eating anything miss no wash on her monthly long red fingernails had prepared.
Same for at a friend when the cat sat in the pizza box lid after using the litter box.

I have a Cancer rising, there are many times where I will emotional test people that are close to me just to see if they care and how they really feel(check for emotional security). To feel I am loved whether in a friendship or relationship is very important to me. I know that sounds kind of strange and I don't know of anybody else that does this, or if they are aware of doing it. It is something that I have been trying to stop doing since it tends to get on peoples nerves.   ------------------

Fayte.m yes very similar to how you do, but I also will show my distress more to see if there is a sympathetic reaction, because usually I have a hard time showing my emotions(12th house Moon)but it is set free when I am in the company of a person or people I like and want to be close to...I want to try to emotionally bond ------------------

i agree with so much of what everyone said about virgo rising -
some of the more negative traits for me include pessimism, a lot of paranoia, self criticsm and as i get older i get more shy which is strange because i was always a very outgoing person (aquarius sun), i am also a terrible judge of character!IP: Logged |

I totally agree, Aquarius4. I do tend to obsessively think about problems that shouldn't hold my attention for more than a minute. I've learned that as soon as the worrying starts I have to cut it off, pronto! As for judging characters,I was suprised to hear that you're bad at it. I'm kind of good at that but it's taken me years to get to the point that I'm at now. It's probably the result of the infusion of my virgo rising and moon in sag [the psyhic]. IP: Logged |

Mom says when i was a little girl i used to be very outspoken and entertaining [i liked to dance in front of family friends] but now i am almost anti-social and very reserved [and well... nowadays i don't like dancing in front of many people/any people].
I believe that as we Virgo rising people grow up, we "realize" things and situations and begin to develop our self-criticism skills. IP: Logged |
