I totally understand where you're coming from. I'm obsessed with asking people about their horoscopes as well.. "Hi, what's your name? blah blah.. You don't happen to be a Leo by any chance?"".. I don't see anything wrong with what you're doing, and anyway whatever happened to freedom of speech?! I'm sorry about your boss, I hope he gets over himself..SO what's your sign? IP: Logged |

Sorry to hear that happened to you! Aquarius sun combined with a lot of fixed signs in the chart can produce someone who is rigid in their own beliefs. Or maybe he was raised by parents who believed astrology was a rollercoaster ticket to a very hot land? Be careful and follow any guidelines set by the HR department. You could get into big legal trouble for discussing it on company time, even if there is nothing set in the HR current policies. If you want to chat about it with people, or if they approach you - have lunch off-grounds and talk about it then. Maybe you could be the person in charge of the bday list? In my jobs, I've annointed myself the birthday-keeper, thereby knowing everyone's astrology info (usually not ascendant, though, sadly) by default. I love being the present-buyer, desk-decorator, party-thrower person! And thankfully I've never had any trouble talking about it, but I've worked in art where things are a bit more quirky than standard big corporate environments. IP: Logged |

what? why would i get in legal trouble for asking people their signs? its just my way of getting to know people, i dont sit there and just talk about it...to tell me im going to get fired FOR ASKING SOMEONE their sign is WRONG. If anyone can get in legal trouble its him/them. IP: Logged |

Maybe he was only joking?! I mean, what a nonsense! Really, cannot believe he said it and actually meant it )) It seems like you're out of luck with those Aquarians (meaning other thread about ignoring one of them). :( IP: Logged |

Honestly, I don't understand why this Aquarian boss of yours is so unreasonable. He does seem VERY stuck in his own ways. But it probably has less to do with what his chart says than how he was raised. If it DOES have to do with his chart, however, he probably has quite a bit of earth in it to be affecting how he runs things around there. (Cappy or Virgo influence, perhaps?) If I were in your position, I'd either try and talk things out directly... or be incredibly light-hearted around him. Or you simply try to find loopholes in his 'restrictions'. Like: "You only said I couldn't ask other people's zodiac signs, not their BIRTHDAYS." I'd only take it higher up if it really starts to get much worse. It's situations like these that I really wish I WAS in your position. In my opinion, I think a problem like that would be fun to handle. :] ------------------ [as-tuh-risk]. -noun 1. the figure of a star (*) used to mark utterance that would be considered ungrammatical or otherwise unacceptable by native speakers of a language IP: Logged |

Because, if your boss was correct when he said "It makes people uncomfortable," then a continuance would be legally termed harassment. And no, I don't think what you are doing is harassment, and I don't agree with the stomp-down of it... but you would be wise to protect yourself legally and be aware of your rights as well as the rights of others. You'll sound like a fluff if you ask for signs. Just ask for birthdays instead. If the boss called you on it, most likely someone has a problem with it. IP: Logged |
