I am wondering if other aqua suns are news junkies. I suspect they may be. My sun is in the 10th(cappy house, with cap on cusp) and I suspect capricorns may be into the news.

I have mecury in cap in the 9th house.

My guesses for obvious news junkies are: aqua, sag, cap, gemini and virgo.
Aqua and sag because they are both nosy and also interested in people and the world a lot.

Gemini and Virgo because they're ruled by mercury.

Caps because they're so responsible.

I don't know about the other signs...

What's your sign and how much do you watch the news?

.. same here .. but would definitely include international news ..
more interested in national and international than local news items ..
as for celeb. news(?) .. couldn't give a toss ..

I'm glad you included your chart because I was going to mention to everyone that all the news junkies I know have the planet Uranus near an important angle like the Ascendant, MC or IC. And there it is for you, Uranus in the 1st house. DING DING DING DING!!!! NEWS JUNKY ALERT!!!

i thought it might be my gemini placements but never did look into it ..
my dad was a news junkie as well .. thought i might have picked up his habit :-)
must admit .. if i don't watch the news .. or television for that matter .. i feel much less stressed

I am like ghanima81, I can not stomach watching the news, it depresses me very much so I make it a point to not watch.

Errr...

My Sun is Virgo
Asc Scorpio and chart ruler and very dignified apparently.
Mercury is in Libra
Uranus in Sagittarius, just a degree or so from being in Scorpio, but in the 1st house too. Also in the first house are Mars and Jupiter.

I am not sure whether I should post my chart to make sense of what I am describing? I am only learning about astrology.

I have two clients with Uranus close to the ASC. One has it in the 1st house at 7 degrees Leo, but his ASC is Cancer 24 degrees. The other is ASC 13 degrees Libra and his Uranus is at 7 degrees Libra, in the 12th house.

The 12th house Uranus client has CNN on from morning til night, the other is a psychologist and will take his lunch breaks in front of CNN or other cable TV new stations.

My father is a news junkie, I don't know his birth time, but my MC is Aquarius, MC suggests the father, so my MC is ruled by Uranus.

I actually don't enjoy the news that much, I guess I didn't inherit that from my Dad, he used to come home from work and turn off our little kid shows, Brady Bunch, Flintstones, etc. so he could watch the news. We hated it.

An observation however:

My Taurus Dad (Sadly, I don't know his ASC & Moon) is very interested in the news - not the gossip-y kind though. Another Taurus friend (Pisces Asc. & Aqua Moon) is also very interested. The both of them love educational news as well.

A Leo friend (Taurus Asc. & Cappy Moon) is VERY interested in news - more of the gossip-y kind though.

The news tends to make me a bit sad too, but I try to stay objective. It really is depressing what's happening all around us, and imagine the things they don't tell us (at least here in the U.S.). My Uranus is in Sagittarius in the 5th house, not sure how that plays out.
