My son has this in the 11th house, I swear he has a fight or two or three everyday at school. I wish he would calm this down..Somehow I think he likes it, it gives him Venus in Aries a thrill..He fights with his friends..He is not doing a sport right now, but in January he will be playing basket ball thats one of my ways to calm his aggression is to put it on the court..

Any one with this placement any advice..

Mars in Scorpio: Let’s say that the President of the United States has Mars in Scorpio, and aliens attack from outer space. The first thing they would do is reach for the thermonuclear weapons. Now let’s say that there is a fly buzzing around their head and disturbing them. The first thing they do is reach for the thermonuclear weapons. Mars is the fighting ability, and in Scorpio, it is either on or off. Nothing in between. People with this placement have to learn moderation in
battle.

Mars in the Eleventh House: gives active, assertive, aggressive friends. Those that are lazy or passive need not apply. There will tend to be arguments with friends, more than what would be considered "normal". When it comes to hopes and wishes, you will most likely charge right in. Train yourself to pause and consider first, to see if the hope or wish is worth pursuing. You will have to do this consciously as pausing and considering don’t come naturally with this placement.

Bob Marks..

It makes sense to me..

Hi Mama Mia,

Just remember, Bobby Kennedy had Mars in Scorpio. Many people described his personality as being somewhat like a pit bull (when they're mean). He was the perfect aggressor for Jack Kennedy because no one wanted to mess him.

Stories abound about attending parties at his house, Hickory Hill. If you attended, no matter what kind of party it was, family barbeque, business lunch or elegant party; and no matter what you were wearing, business suit, elegant gown with jewelry, you would wind up in his pool because he personally pushed you or carried you out there and dumped you in it.

So what if you were Senator Soandso, or Mrs. Congressman, you should expect to wind up in the pool.

As he develops through his teen years you can help him to fight for what's right. My roommate and best friend has Mars in Scorpio and he is a consumer advocate for the State Attorney General, and he fights tooth and nail for the people making sure they don't get ripped off. He'll stand up to anybody. That might be the key, teach him who to fight with and who to fight for, because that energy isn't going away. He's not gonna stop fighting, but he can channel it properly.

Thanks GEO I figured as much..It is stressful though..Because with that Mars aspect and then his Pisces sun he feels bad too..But that Venus in Aries loves it..He is going to be a group man whatever he does in life, I can see that..

Hi.

My Mars is also in Scorpio, but I am not a fighter. Let's put it like this... I will not start a fight or actively go in one. I will try to avoid it, BUT, if you insist, I will sometimes oblige.

Also, my Mars in Scorpio is in nice harmonious aspects with my Sun, Moon, Venus, Jupiter and Asc, so maybe there are hard Mars aspects in his chart.

The thing is: this aspect does require for the intense emotions and aggressions to be directed somewhere constructive, so a sport is good. Also, something introspective like an art might calm him down, or music (maybe play the drums)....

This placement does not make a person aggressive, but it definitely makes a person determined; so a long term project, like a long term goal can distract him from fighting.

I may have a tendency for Mars in scorpio, because my mars is 0 degrees saggitarius. I think I have elements of both.

My sag tendencies are more fighting for causes while my scorpio tendencies are more personal oriented.

I don't get into physical fights, but then again, I'm a woman, so that makes it less likely to occur. I will fight back if attacked though.

I would think with mars in scorpio that you would need to help him control his temper by being firm. (You would need to do this with any child who gets into fights.)

Have him channel that energy into something physically arduous...that could help a lot with all that plutonian intensity.

I've got Mars in Scorpio, and I've never been into physical fighting. The thought of learning martial arts does intrigue me, but only for exercise and defense.

I will intellectually spar with almost anyone. I would probably make a formidable lawyer.

It's like: Once I choose to create something, I will not put my mind off it until I produce it. I don't understand how to give up without exhausting all my options, so if there is a will, there is a way with me.

And Geocosmic Valentine is right, before I understood this placement, I fought with myself mostly, but now if I fight, I fight for a cause, and on a personal note, my fight is usually a fight for harmony. So, again, this vibration can be put to good use.

added: I when I speak of fighting with regards to myself, I am not speaking of physical fights. I am a girl hee.

Hi Mama Mia,

Your son and I have a lot of the same placements. I have a Pisces sun, Mars in Scorpio and Venus in Aries. I am very unlikely to fight...have never been in a physical fight. The only time I "see red" or can lose it is when something is threatening someone I love. Then, something else takes over. (Luckily, at these times someone else has been there to step in, but that only happened 2 or 3 times.)

I wonder how much of it has to do with house placement. My Mars Scorpio is in my first house...

In my case, I am NOT great at long term goals. I can get distracted VERY easily. However, if it's something I reeeeaallllyyy want and become emotionally attached to...that's true. There's a determination there that hangs on and won't give up.

i know several people with mars in scorpio and while they are aggressive, it's more of a brooding inward aggression that they only unleash if absolutely provoked..

i have a friend who is in prison for a violent crime and he has mars in scorpio. but he also has moon & saturn in scorpio (venus sun and cancer) so maybe all the scorp action got him in trouble...

i am aggressive and often result to physical violence if my biting words aren't enough - and my mars is in pisces LOL

Mama Mia ~

Here's a spiritual meditation of Mars in Scorpio from one of my recently unearthed books. It's by J Davis.

quote:
Mars in Scorpio

This position is a primary symbol of testing. It attracts difficulties, these being opportunities to exercise the powers of the soul. Its keynote is conflict and struggle - in the higher sense, a symbol of the battle for light and triumph over the lower self. Success in this battle leads to transformation, to radical ascent, and to the death of that which hinders the evolution of the soul.

Mars is in deep resonance with the soul of Scorpio. For those who live up to it, this placement stimulates expression of the spiritual potentials of the sign.

"The 'great Holy War' is that which liberates man from the enemies within."
- Dictionary of Symbols, Cirlot

"We are fighting for noble courage, for high strivings, for the highest wisdom. Therefore, we call ourselves warriors."
- Letters of Helena Roerich, Vol 2

Mars here, in the higher sense, symbolizes subtle transcendence, an uplifting of energy. It is the shift from personality to soul - a new desire is born, yet, this "desire," being of the soul, is unlike its lower correspondence. This higher desire is like the flight of an eagle. Perception of this higher correspondence gives life to the higher center. Attention reveals a new dimension. Thus energy leaps upward, yielding its secret surprise; and the transcendental perception kindles a new fire.

In the lower sense, this position stimulates pain, difficulty, and emotional conflicts. The challenge is to triumph over the exaggerating and distorting effects of the emotional nature, and consciously cultivate inner peace and harmony in the midst of difficulties. The battle is not abstract, but should be thought of as an achievement of a state of harmlessness.

Events: "Then suddenly my light was shattered. The cause seemed simple enough. A blow to my self-love!"
- Splendor in the Night, Adele Fort

The higher symbol of this sign, the eagle of phoenix, represents freedom from earth and water, that is, the soul unhampered by the physical and emotional nature. The element of air, that which is above earth and water, is the symbol of this freedom. The freedom of the air is the place of liberation and revelation.

"He... letteth his soul forth as a young eagle in the early morn, with the sun upon its wings, And the rose kiss of morn upon its crest, Unfettered of the day, Freed for the heights."
- The Case of Patience Worth Prince, Walter Franklin

Symbol: A hero battles a monster.

------------------
`Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.'
~Lewis Carroll

Mama Mia: I don't view this placement is a "thermonuclear weapons"-user. Mahatma Gandhi had it - even conjunct a Venus in Scorpio! The pure nature of a Scorpionic Mars when angry is not outright aggression. It's more of a slow burn that is channeled into quiet determination. It is a very powerful, passionate part of a chart. I don't think there is anything beyond reach of a Scorpio Mars.

With it in the 11th house, if something is unfair, he's really going to be a social activist without fear. Other kids probably don't appreciate that much at their age - maybe an underlying source of the fighting? Oprah Winfrey has Scorpio Mars in the 11th and she has dedicated her life to social causes and issues of the 11th house.

Mars in Scorpio is an activist for a greater cause in some form. Hello, Martin Luther. And no wonder Susan Sarandon speaks up on award shows and in interviews on current issues she believes are vitally important to everyone.

Also, martial arts is a good outlet for Martian energy in general. Bruce Lee: yup, had Mars in Scorpio. And if he reads, maybe introduce him to mystery/detective stories. I spoke to a mystery writer once who has Mars in Scorpio and she told me that mystery is an honorable genre as the good guy wins out in the end every time with hard work and intelligence. Now, that's *really* general, but I think she had a lovely point.

Do you have any astrology books by Stephen Arroyo? He has Mars in Scorpio. I'll see if I can find anything he's written about it.

I know two guys with Mars in Scorpio and neither of them are aggressive types. It is more of a slow burning passion, and both of them seem particularly interested in 'fighting' for causes that involve a positive transformation of society.

Excellent post, Hexxie. That really describes my experience with Mars in Scorpio. It's almost like it brings on painful lessons unless you ACTIVELy choose to learn and grow.

And I read somewhere long ago, that it not only relates to martial arts, but also to weight lifting. I love to work out at a gym with machines and free weights, although I hate aerobics and getting me to do any other form of exercise feels like punishment to me. Not because of the physical part, but I get bored. Weights, though, I love.

Oh Astralmuse good stuff..Yes I can see where things are unfair and he speaks up about it. He is misunderstood but not a angel and I check him about his behavior or contributing to the drama, which I do believe is entertaining to his Venus in Aries..We all would all like to believe that our children are going to grow up and be the best ever, but for real I know that he is going to be something great I can sense it, he's a old soul the things he says and knows blows me away..He is gonna be a group man whatever he does..

Thanks to you all for your advice and comments..
