Just curious on everyones thoughts when it comes to lacking certain elements. I myself lack fire and water. But my main question is, can a planet in a certain house make up for the lack of an element?

For example, my natal lacks fire but does having sun in first house make up for this? (seeing as how 1st house is associated with Aries=fire).

It also lacks water, but i have several planets in a water house... am I off track ?

I know that we attract people who can fill this lack for us. I have no Leo or Virgo in my chart(except in the Placidus) and my best friends usually have Virgo and Leo within theirs.

I think if the Sun were to be in an earth sign in the 1st house, it would accentuate their earthliness more than firey spunk? If you have a connection with Moon, Venus and/or Neptune, then it may grant you to some sensitivity.

The water Houses does not necessarily say the person is "emotional", because I can't think someone with abundant 4th house dwellers could be emotional -- maybe instead, psychic, interested in the familial matters, infant foundations, in a broad, structural sense. The sign has more power, and remember, a House is a house and they have power in terms of Modes: Angular, Succedent and Cadent. The houses are quite different in their purpose, but they might impart some traits from their respected rulers, just not every specific detail about it, only common attributes.

I guess that's true. I lack air elements in my chart. I always seem to attract air signs, specifically Aquarius.

I once knew someone who didn't have any earth...only air, fire & water---she even lived on a house boat. I don't know if her planetary placement compensated, but she did marry a virgo ---can't get much earthier than that....

I have no earth in my chart (except for a fire Moon in the 6th house). I find myself very attracted to Virgos (which is also my Descendant) and Capricorns or people with strong influences from either one of those two signs. So, yeah, I do believe that we subconsciously try to fill this lack.

To answer your question Winged_Feet yes.
A first house Sun will give you a fire quality.

When you lack an element but have planets in houses represented by that element, it kind of evens things out.

I lack fire, doesn't feel good. Mercury/Uranus in Sagittarius conjunction and that's all the fire I've got. BUT, my Moon/Mars conjunction falls into my 5th house so I am at times behave like a drama queen in love department. I guess that's a Leo influence then. AND, Leo males are forever attracted to me ;) and Aries - because Aries is on my DSC :) and Sags - because I have some Sag :)

It's funny, because I do lack fire but attract fire signs.

So, I think the planets in the house can give you the qualities of the sign associated with that house, but there has to be two or more planets in the house for you to feel the effect. For example, my Aqua venus in my 4th house is supposed to give me Cancer quality. I don't feel it does that! Maybe if something else fell in that house, it's be different.

I think it is true that you attract the stuff your chart lacks. My charts doesn't have any fire in it either, but I have a stellium in my first house, and that kinda makes up for it.

I have just one planet in a fire sign(mercury in leo)and I'm surrounded by a lot of Leo's... My father, brother, grandma and my best friend are Leo's and my other best friend is a Sag... The lack of fire in my chart is well compensated for.

I really don't miss the Fire. I'm quite calm, but when I see a wrong or injustice Fire comes from somewhere.

I'm pretty much earth, with one or two signs in the other elements. Often I attract Aries and Gemini, which is pretty good, but I feel like I can't connect with them as well as I can with my best Capricorn friend (he has a lot of earth, too).

Besides my aries ascendant, I have no other fire in my chart. BUT I have sun conjunct mars (think it'd make me more firey?) and pluto in 8th house so I'm passionate, but mellow, and I don't go off and freak out at people lol.

But I do wish I was more feisty (I'd love to have an aries mercury)

I'm a virgo sun
Moon- libra
venus-libra
merc- libra
mars- virgo
jupiter in cancer
saturn, uranus, neptune in cap
Pluto - scorp

Yeahhh I'm prettyy much calm and laid back, until you push at my buttons for too long a time lol then I explode. But it's rare.

In my experience people who lack Fire spend the whole time saying they don't need it, when it's as clear as day they're 'lacking' something they want, need, and others notice they haven't got. I would even say it is a precursor to Superiority / Inferiority Complexes.

If I had needed Fire, I'm sure I would have chosen it when I picked my natal chart/birth time.
