This is my chart. When I get the chart reading they've said NEVER EVER gamble because of some placement but I don't know which. Does anyone see anything here?

OK, edited-how do I post a chart or image here, please? I did [img] but it doesn't work. I disabled smilies and that didn't work.

Magic, of course!

(btw: you did the image tags correctly, you just had a java addy which is not valid on a bb code board)

Hope this helps...
Detailed description here
You'll need to upload any pics to a different site that uses html codes to store photos then link from there...

Here, an easier way to know if your picture will post...
The address will end in ".jpg" or ".gif"
(your picture when right clicked gave options to play, loop, fast forward, etc.) it used adobes flash player... Ultimately this sequence is to high a bandwith for use on a ubb board and therefor is not supported.

A good site to use is photobucket.com to store your photos because they give you options to choose the size of picture you wish to post as well as the codes to use on both html or bb boards. It's totally FREE too!
If you have already an account at myspace.com this too is a nice option for picture storage easily linked to. I like it because you can keep your albums private, yet allow someone to veiw just one picture.

Another, entirely different option.. is to provide a html link to your picture. This is called direct linking. I would not suggest you ever do this unless your entire album area is set to "private" and NEVER EVER do this with an account such as astro.com or the like... It gives people entire access to your account and personal information otherwise.

Here is an example of a safe direct link:
Clickity-click, LOL!

You can actually do this from your own site!
*while veiwing your picture, just choose the option underneath that says: veiw original size, then snag the address from the new page as it now ends in .gif http://media.livedigital.com/pictures/2a/57/2a577376ff9b49395c5b27dfa5f7140c.gif
This is the addy!!!, just paste it between your image tags or link tags now.
[img][/img] OR [url][/url], respectively.

I don't really see anything in your chart that says you shouldn't gamble. I expected to see an afflicted planet in your 5th(house of gambling) or even the ruler of your fifth afflicted, but I see no such thing.

Maybe the person who told you this was wrong, or maybe it's over my head.

The ONLY thing I can think of is your loaded 2nd house, but that has nothing to do with gambling. Or it could be because jupiter is opp neptune in the 4th, but that's a stretch.

I do know you have a lot of cancer! and also a lot of virgo.

Hi stillatlarge,

The only thing I can kind of see is that your 5th house is ruled by Scorpio and Pluto is posited in the 2nd house.

Pluto is not really a gambler, not speculative and the energy is very focused.
In the 2nd house, nothing is left up to chance
Pluto has a plan.

But pluto is really nicely aspected. Maybe Pluto's plan for her is to win!

You said:"When I get the chart reading they've said NEVER EVER
gamble because of some placement"

Who does the bold print refer to?

Have you gone to an online pop astrology site,
a professional astrologer, a person at the fair...???

I'm quite curious now myself.

I don't see anything representing these interpretations at all.

The advice to not gamble is based on Saturn in the 8th house opposing Uranus in the 2nd.

Still not feeling it?

Uranian spontaneity and sober Saturnian restriction.

Second House dealing with: Personal money, assetts, value, self-worth, what you have in your pocket

Eighth house dealing with your partners money and assets, death, rebirth, transformation, sex, surgery, and inheritance

The opposition between Saturn and Uranus often indicates a state of discomfort between the old and the new. It can represent a battle between placing security and comfort against excitement and creative challenge. This can often take the form of conflict between a traditional upbringing and modern lifestyles. Attention should be given to finding ways to compromise in disruptive situations, and finding a worthwhile outlet for the tensions that arise. People with this aspect can become effective leaders in provocative actions aimed at disturbing negative apathy.

hmm...

In fact I would LOVE to have Jupitar located in the 11th!!!
I would consider this a lucky placement.
Right there at;
friends, groups, clubs, income from professsion,
hopes, dreams, wishes, and stepchildren.

Of course I'm a Sagi speaking, LOL!

Wow, thanks for all the info. I don't understand it all but I'm going to research it. So the 8th house stuff with Uranus is bad, but the 2nd, pluto and Jupiter stuff is GOOD? I always thought it was pretty boring to have all that in the 2nd. I got the info from the free canned readings you get on the net. They've also said I would be good with other people's money.

I've had fairly good luck with coincidence like running into people at a certain time or just getting something in the nick of time, but I don't feel unusually lucky with scratch-offs, gambling, or contests, especially since I'm always so conservative. I asked now because I'm planning on going to the casino and betting a whole $100.What's happened before is that when I played roulette I won like crazy but walked away with very little at all cuz I had only bet $5 a spin. lol. Could that be the opposition?

Hi Still At Large,

I consider the Uranus-Pluto conjunction to be a stressful aspect. That doesn't mean it's bad, it means that it extremely active, focused and intense. Because Pluto rules the 5th house of speculation, some might consider that's it's not so wise for you to gamble.

I have the Uranus-Pluto conjunction IN the 5th house and I get the same types of warnings with generic COOK BOOK astrology. I'm not attracted to gambling, but I can imagine that Pluto being the ruler of obsession and Uranus ruling shock, surprise and intensity, I might come up with something like...hmmm...you could become intensely obsessed with gambling, but that might not be how YOU use that energy.

The 5th house is also athleticism, teaching, creativity, children, romantic sexuality. You might be a very intensely surprising lover, you might have children who are powerful geniuses, maybe your a great chess player or golfer with intense focus on the game. You could be the greatest teacher alive.

Why don't those astrology reports every interpret that aspect like that?

In my chart, Pluto conjuncts Uranus in the 5th house. Uranus rules my 10th house of father and career. Uranus rules astrology and I am an astrologer. My father has been a research scientist all his life, Uranus rules science.

I also accept that I am a very talented and creative singer/songwriter/musician. All 5th house Uranian intensity and Plutonian Power.

How would you interpret that aspect for yourself?

I'm still thinking about this but I have to say I've done pretty well speculating in general. I think. I got screwed really bad by some people in a lawsuit a few years ago but I'm not sure you'd say I was being speculative. I've very cautious and plan everything pretty well even when I do daring things.

I have Sun square Jupiter, but I don't gamble, but I'm 1000% sure that it brings me good luck. You know how people call up radio stations and say, "I've never won a contest in my life." Well, I have. I don't call them anymore, but I used to win t-shirts, CD's, DVD Players, Tickets to concerts and all kinds of stuff. It might also be due to my Jupiter sextile my Uranus-Pluto conjunction in the 5th.

I guess trying to win contests could be considered gambling in one respect, but I have no desire to go to Vegas or Atlantic City.

I ought to check my derivative houses because my grandmother was a gambling addict to the point where it truly disrupted her family life. She loved to play cards, she even taught me how to play Gin Rummy at 6 years old.

Still At Large,

I think your good planning, discipline and hard work is due to your Sun opposite Saturn. Saturn is the plans, time, discipline, structure.

This is all very interesting.

MarsconjunctMercury,

Do you find yourself to be lucky or excessive in other ways other than gambling, too?

Maybe he/she was referring to Jupiter being traditionally in detriment in Gemini (opposite of Sagittarius). It also makes a lot of squares.. so you might always think you'll win, but be mistaken.

:edit: wait it's in Taurus - nvm that lol

I think you want to gamble, but you want to see if astrologically it's ok.

You shoud've just asked that, because you could've gotten a better answer...we could've looked at transits.

I see cetain transits that would impact gambling, but I am not saying anything because I don't like being duped...if you want to know something ask..don't screw with us

OK, whatever. It couldn't be that you are transit obsessed and want another excuse to discuss them...
