If you're comfortable with it,
why don't you post your chart?
there could be a million (ok an exageration) reasons why you're not feeling Scorpio strongly in your chart.

But in short, an answer to your question as Lala said your Sun Sign is mearly one aspect of your astrological picture -YES! Those other planets matter as do where they are placed in the houses of your chart and how they aspect one another.

I too, am a cusp born like you (The first day of Sagittarius) I do have Scorpio influences but they are not due to my sun sign , rather that of other planet(s) or locations...

DO NOT put up a link to your chart like that.
Anyone can get into your astro.com account and manipulate the information in it.
Please read YFIS's DETAILED instructions on how to post an image. First you have to save it to your hard drive then upload it to a host.

I recommend Photobucket.com as it gives you cool options for choosing the size
to display your picture and gives a quick copy/paste code to use at forums
such as this or elsewhere where html codes may be the norm.

The oriental planet also has a strong influence as well
(the planet preceding the Sun in your chart)
As will Jupitar the ancient ruler of Pisces.

I think you have a *lovely* chart. Jupiter in Sag in the 9th house is very beneficial. You do have a stellium - a close connection of planets - in Sagittarius in Sag's "natural" house, the 9th. So you have a lot of Sag energy. Your 1st and 7th houses and 3rd and 9th are very important in your chart, so you may want to look at issues that are associated with them - independence versus relationships, etc.

A chart is read counter-clockwise, so Uranus is the planet that preceeds your Sun.

Basically it's called a guiding planet it's energy is what you need for a spiritual foundation in life, what you need to complete-your purpose-what has to be done this lifetime.
