Racism is still a big issue.

DEKALB, Ill.---- Black students attending Northern Illinois University say they feel unsafe after racial slurs and references to shootings earlier this year at Virginia Tech were found scrawled on a bathroom wall.

Of course it's still a problem, and it's foolish to think the U.S. can stop it. Government can't do anything about people's attitudes and ignorance. There is racism spread WORLDWIDE, too.

Yes racism can be a problem but more and more America is becoming bi-racial.

I know too many people to count that are mixed in some way.

The attitudes my children have grown up with are completely unbiased and unprejudiced compared to when I was a kid and there was still some ignorance and blind hatred.

I think we've come a long way
and we're going to go the distance.

Hi Raymond

If you don't recognise racism
it doesn't live in your world

Hi Lalinda

Racism is definitely a problem all over the world and not in USA. That's why I included stuff on European Union and Canada.

As a person of multiethnic Black,White,Hispanic, and Native American born from an interracial relationship and in an interracial relationship,I believe in tolerance of ethnic diversity and really hate racism with a passion. I always wished for everybody to get along and be in harmony which you would expect with my Moon in Pisces square Jupiter-Neptune in Sagittarius, but I feel that I am realistic about racism too which I feel that is reflected by my retrograde Saturn in Gemini in 9th in t-square with my Moon square Jupiter-Neptune.

I have definitely experienced racism including being called racial slurs. In spite of that,I am not a racist. There are racist in all ethnic groups too. I have known black racists, hispanic racists, asian racists, and white racists just like I have known tolerant people of all ethnicities.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's dream is worth believing in and striving for.

multi-racial is the word I should have used.
The more we (US) become multi-racial
the more tolerence and acceptance we should become.
one big mixing bowl

I too believe in Dr. King's dream
You're so cool Raymond

hi there ^_^ haven't been in this forum for some time, but it's good to see that you're back, Glaucus. XD I always admired you.

But well, back to the main theme. Racism actually depends a lot on the education people receives. But racism just proves ignorance - a person's development depends more on the environment/circumstances rather than their genes/blood (under normal health conditions).

forget Racism, here in India people of the same race are intolerant of each other.
why ?
25 states, 50 languages, 10000 dialects.
every state has its own diff culture, religion , dress , etc.
India is not one country, its like 500 countries in one Country

Wow...I had no idea it was that crazy in India! Lol. It's quite sad that despite the fact that we're living in the 21st century that racism and intolerance still plagues every country. Life is hard enough without us hating each other simply because of our beliefs are different.

people of a state who speak one language think they r one group and cannot be understood by others.
