I guess a composite chart is supposed to simplify all the drama around aspects between charts.
For instance: In synastry, one person may have Venus Trine Venus, but Venus can also be square Mercury---which isn't that great...how can you tell which aspect will dominate---what determines that, degrees, or position?

Hi BlkFox! I have found that my composite charts have been pretty true to life.

Let's see, how can I explain this... synastry is how your energies interact with one another on the most basic level. It doesn't tell what the relationship will be. It just tells you what your interactions are like. Human relationships are so complex that sometimes the Mars square Saturn will come into play and other times one's Venus conjunct the other's Neptune will make things seem too beautiful to be true between you. Which one comes into play is determined by so many factors, transits, progressions, how strong each planet is in the chart... etc, etc.

A composite, on the other hand, is how the relationship will actually BE. What it will BE. It's created by finding the midpoints between all your planets and positions to create a new chart entirely.

What someone on here told me a long time ago that I have found to be true regarding composites and which aspects are most important is to find the dominant planets in each person's natal chart. So look for the ruling planets, most heavily aspected, singletons, etc.

My rising sign is Libra and Venus is also heavily aspected in my chart, so I always look at what aspects Venus is making in composite charts and, sure enough, those are always the aspects that most resonate with me and ring true to the reality of the relationship.

Of course, I also then take into account the other person's ruling planet and look at that, and again, it usually is the aspect/interp that most resonates with me.

I hope that helps.

IMO, the composite shows the possibilities and restrictions of a relationship, the "frames" of the relationship.

I would also look at the progressed composite, as relationships have enormous development potential depending on the people involved...
