** Starcast for December 21 to January 19 **

December 21 heralds the Winter Solstice and marks the Sun's entrance into Capricorn. This is a perfect time to take steps toward your goals for the year -- and your life. Two days later, the full Moon in Cancer will likely make you a bit hypersensitive. The Sun opposes retrograde Mars on the 24th, followed by the Mars-Jupiter opposition on the 26th. This dynamic, feisty energy will have everybody running around! Venus enters Sagittarius on December 30 when you'll need breathing room in your closest relationships. Then, as Mars re-enters Gemini on the last day of the year, followed by an opposition to Pluto on January 2, take care of unfinished business and convince someone to stop challenging you. Mercury's entrance into Aquarius on January 7 will help everyone keep a level head, while the new Moon in practical Capricorn on January 8 gives plenty of initiative. When Venus, the love planet, squares independent Uranus on January 12, it's time to get out of your routines and do something different. Then, make some adjustments in your plans as the Sun forms a quincunx to Mars on January 15. Finally, Venus opposes Mars on January 19, giving you a chance to see who or what isn't moving -- and to see where you can achieve more balance in your life and in your relationships.

December 19: Saturn turns retrograde

How can you support yourself more effectively? Saturn, the builder, turns retrograde for the first time since entering Virgo last September 2, initiating a period of review. You've had a chance to put into practice Saturn in Virgo's requirements of hard work and becoming more efficient. Your responsibilities to yourself and others -- particularly as they concerned your work and your health -- have been important areas of focus. This review period will last until May 2, 2008 when Saturn turns direct. Until then, analyze and make necessary changes, as you create a solid foundation for the year ahead.

December 20: Mercury enters Capricorn

Three times a year when the communication planet Mercury transits through earth signs, we are given the opportunity to think sensibly. In Capricorn, the keyword is 'pragmatic.' Setting goals and implementing commonsense changes are the focus now. What do you want to achieve, how will you communicate your desires and with whom will you talk about them? Your career goals can get a boost as you turn your thinking to advancing yourself in this area.

December 21: Sun enters Capricorn

The Winter Solstice occurs each year as the Sun transits into achievement-oriented Capricorn. The mix of the earthy practicality of Capricorn and the drive of the cardinality of this sign presents an opening for you to take your ambitions and really do something with them! Hopefully you explored your sphere of influence while the Sun transited through Sagittarius, and you're ready to make something of yourself. Set your sights high. In the sign of the Goat, it's time to climb to the top of the mountain!

December 23: Full Moon in Cancer

Feeling a bit hypersensitive? The full Moon always marks a time of strong emotions, and in Cancer -- one of the most feeling-oriented signs of the zodiac -- you can't help but feel strongly about everything now. Retrograde Mars sits next to this Moon, heating up your emotions. Make sure you don't act prematurely. This combo is known for people acting in ways they later regret. Mainly, in this sign of the nurturer, see how you can tend to the needs of yourself and your family. What can you do to enhance your security and emotional well being?

This full Moon will most affect those born December 22-26, March 21-25, June 21-25 and September 23-27.

December 24: Sun opposite Mars
Retrograde Mars backs into opposition with the Capricorn Sun, and all of the delays that have postponed your plans are brought to a culmination. The Sun wants to create, and Mars wants to act -- yet they are not cooperating since both are strong in their own agendas. If you know your chart, look to see which houses these two players are straddling. This will give you plenty of information about how to handle yourself at this time.

December 26: Mars opposite Jupiter

When action-oriented Mars is in contact with expansive Jupiter, you may feel like you are in overdrive. If you can downshift, you'll be better able to harness the energy of this dynamic aspect. Remember, Mars is still retrograde. Reviewing your plans and projects is still important and beneficial. All of the energy you're feeling needs an outlet. Watch out for injuries due to moving too quickly without enough warming up!

December 30: Venus enters Sagittarius

Can you be close and free at the same time? As Venus, the relationship planet, enters freewheeling Sagittarius, you'll feel like you need more than a little room to breathe in your closest relationships. If you can take this nomadic energy and travel with your partner, you'll receive great benefits from this transit. Single? Get out a map and make plans to travel somewhere. Or, if that's not possible, sign up for a language class. You never know if the person sitting next to you is your soul mate!

December 31: Mars re-enters Gemini

Since Mars turned retrograde in emotional Cancer on November 15, you've been backtracking through this sensitive sign. Now, retrograde Mars returns to vocal Gemini, and this warrior planet will have plenty to say! This brings to mind the old saying, 'Sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me.' But it turns out that this statement is not as true as you might think. The two faces of Mars in Gemini are the salesperson and the bully. If you have an idea to sell, you can be quite persuasive now. To succeed though, know when to back off.

January 2: Mars opposite Pluto

Think back to last September when Mars, the action planet, opposed powerful Pluto for the first time in this particular series. Because Mars is retrograde, this aspect repeats and we have the chance once again to see what happens when people are on opposite sides of the proverbial fence. Whether on a personal or global level, what people or countries do when opposed is important now. With Mars in opinionated Gemini, and Pluto in ethical Sagittarius, watch what happens when the issues of power and control arise. Instead of becoming embroiled in the rhetoric, sidestep the bullies of the world and use the power of this aspect to better yourself -- and humankind.

January 7: Mercury enters Aquarius

Sometimes it's important to approach everything with a great deal of practicality. But when Mercury, the planet of communication, enters free-spirited Aquarius, inspiration rules! You have truly original ideas and now is the time to stay with them, develop them, and speak about them. If you know which house in your chart Mercury is traveling through, you can apply those ideas to that area of your life.

January 8: New Moon in Capricorn

A new year is often a time when we feel a renewed sense of purpose. A new Moon also marks a time of new beginnings. Capricorn is a sign that loves to build something, so for those of you who haven't made your New Year's resolutions, figure out what you'd like to accomplish this year and use this powerful new Moon to plan, strategize and focus on what you want to achieve. Keep in mind the smaller steps needed to reach your long-term goals, and see what headway you can make by the next full Moon on January 22. Whatever you do, take action to make your life secure through tangible goals. Remember, every journey begins with the first step!

This new Moon will most affect those born January 6-10, April 5-9, July 7-11 and October 8-12.

January 12: Venus square Uranus

In your relationships, can you be close and free at the same time? Events cause you to evaluate your connections with others to see if your needs for freedom and independence are being honored. This is also a social time, and you'll want to connect with like-minded people -- those you know already and those you would like to meet. It's time to shake up your relationships a bit to keep them interesting!

January 15: Sun quincunx Mars

It's time to re-evaluate the course you're on. Get a compass, look for true north and make some smart decisions that will help you get back on track. While you're busy reorienting yourself, watch out for a tendency to get fired-up by challenging people or events. Be smart and sidestep troublemakers, and then simply continue on your merry way!

January 19: Venus opposite Mars

As Mars turns direct later this month, Venus opposes Mars, giving you a chance to see who -- or what -- isn't moving. These are relationship planets, and right now they are coming from two significantly different positions. Yet, although they are on opposite sides of the fence, they are looking at each other. With these planets in the career/family signs, it may be time to get a better sense about where the middle ground is. This aspect is all about finding balance.

Enjoy the Sun's transit in Capricorn!

** Astrolesson: Saturn Transits **

It's easy for astrology students to feel overwhelmed when trying to learn about transits, and how to apply those themes to a natal chart. For instance, transiting Pluto may be trining the natal Sun at the same time that Saturn is squaring the natal Moon and opposing natal Mars. Synthesizing all of that information into something that makes sense can be difficult!

It's important when learning about transits not to skip too far ahead. Laying the foundation for your own thinking process is key. The first thing to take into account is that the planets moving through particular signs are describing the themes that we are all encountering -- both globally and personally.

Transiting Saturn enters a new sign every two-and-a-half years, and takes approximately 28 to 29 years to travel through all 12 signs. Saturn entered Virgo (health, work, service) on September 2, 2007. This means that everybody (governments too!) is analyzing health systems, and will continue to do so for the next two-and-a-half years.

To make the most of this transit, ask yourself how to better take care of yourself. Saturn represents how you build; Virgo is all about high standards and how to take practical steps to reach your goals. If you deepen your knowledge of Virgo, you will have a greater understanding of how to make the most of this transit. Begin with a thorough health analysis, and assess your day-to-day work environment. Your mission over the next two-and-a-half years will be to make sure that you and your environment is in good working order!

Now, that was easy, wasn't it?

Cosmic Calendar, Friday December 21st ~

If you feel somewhat shocked by yesterday's rock-em, sock-em celestial avalanche of alignments, join the club. Most of humanity is experiencing a tumultuous roller-coaster ride of emotions and the next 6 days will continue that trend. There is a slight let-up today - compared to yesterday - although the morning brings a frictional, 135-degree Venus-Mars encounter into the picture (5:00AM PST). Anytime Venus and Mars form one of these powerful alignments, romance can receive a jolt. The question is whether that jolt is positive or negative. Much depends on your current outlook on life and if you can handle the daily pressures that are a natural part of working in harmony with a loved one. Using arm-twisting maneuvers on family members is taboo. Acting in an egocentric manner only contributes to relationship mix-ups and misunderstandings. Keep in mind that the Moon is still in a limbo-like void cycle until 2:15PM PST. Finish odd jobs and old projects before that time. After 2:15PM PST, the lunar orb enters loquacious and often hyper-active Gemini. Reading, writing, classes and research receive the green light. The big news of the day arrives with a thud at 10:09PM PST when the Sun enters Capricorn. This is also a sacred turning point of the year that is known as the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. The Sun entering the final earth sign of the zodiac begins a 30-day cycle when career matters and reaching a worldly pinnacle are top concerns. You may be able to cash in on some of your more important investments in the next 24 hours as the Sun also unites with giant Jupiter by tomorrow evening. However, cool your heels in romance this evening as Venus approaches a square to Neptune (exact at 2:23AM PST tomorrow). Start preparing for Sunday's potent Full Moon.

Cosmic Calendar, Saturnday December 22nd ~

Like yesterday's stormy relationship between Venus and Mars, you now have to deal with two dicey contacts in the sky - a turbulent Venus-Neptune square (2:23AM PST) and Mercury making its annual polarity to Mars (10:30AM PST). If these two alignments occurred on different days, they would be a lot easier to handle. However, their occurrence fairly simultaneously makes your mission harder. The key is to avoid an upsurge in confusion and chaos on the romantic horizon. The tendency is to get fogged in by illusions and deceptions or to accuse someone of a negative act without your knowing all the facts. There's no sense in shooting from the hip when you can calmly discuss matters in a civil manner. If you need a time-out from dealing with your primary partnerships, by all means take it. Enjoy a soulful stroll in a favorite nature setting. Ride your bicycle, enjoy a beloved hobby or play games while the Moon travels through airy Gemini. Helping you mellow out and regain your senses are mentally-stimulating 72-degree links from Mercury to Uranus (5:43AM PST) and from Venus to Saturn (1:57PM PST). The former can give you revelatory brainstorms while the latter can bring stable conditions back into storm-tossed relationships. The main event of the day arrives tonight when the Sun unites with Jupiter in Capricorn (9:57PM PST). This is one of the most superlative conjunctions of the year since it connects the two largest bodies in the solar system. You definitely need to examine your most important life themes and issues. See the big picture of why you are here on Earth at this time. What can you do to make the world a better place? Can you spread goodwill and encouragement throughout a weary and exhausted humanity looking for inspired individuals who can bring light into darkened areas of the globe? Evening meditations are welcome as the dynamic Full Moon comes into manifestation on Sunday.

Cosmic Calendar, Sunday December 23rd ~

Think before you act! Flying by the seat of your pants and being impulsive may boomerang. The three main reasons for caution are a frictional, 45-degree link between Mercury and Neptune (10:27AM PST), the Full Moon (5:17PM PST and energizing 2 degrees of Capricorn and Cancer), and the monthly Moon-Mars union in Cancer (7:00PM PST). A Mercury-Neptune caustic relationship warns you against signing on the dotted line - especially regarding big-ticket items. Any Full Moon is a powerhouse of revelation and enlightenment, but it can also represent a tug of war with dear ones or colleagues. Send out your prayers and thoughts to humanity in need of upliftment. The Moon conjunction with the red planet adds an extra note of inflammation and volatility in many areas of life. In addition, we are only a day away from an intense Sun-Mars polarity that clocks in tomorrow morning. Being ego-driven and self-centered won't cut the mustard. There's also a short void-of-course lunar cycle that happens from 12:26PM PST to 2:19PM PST. This is a nearly 3-hour limbo-like time-period to finish old projects on a high note, but not launch bold ventures. The Moon shifts from Gemini to Cancer at 2:19PM PST. The Moon in Cancer places an emphasis on home, domestic and family issues. Nostalgic currents run rampant for the rest of the afternoon and the evening hours. Literary and film classics top the charts tonight under the Cancer Moon aegis. Gear up for a rather provocative day on Monday when Mars becomes hyperactive.

Cosmic Calendar, Moonday December 24th ~

Psychic storm warnings are posted as the red planet is in a take-no-prisoners mood. Mars - still in retrograde motion until January 30, 2008 - opposes the Sun (11:48AM PST). Although computer technology provides us with the exact moment of polarization, the reality is that this major alignment is a profound happening throughout the day. Watch out for mental, emotional and physical burnout. Pushing another person's buttons - with critical remarks, accusations or out-of-character behavior - won't lead to positive results. You particularly want to tone down your rhetoric and be more empathic to dear ones under pressure. Making iron-clad, long-term agreements or signing legal papers is foolish because this solar-martial clash can come back to haunt you in the future. It is hard to sugarcoat this linkage and turn it into something auspicious, but one way may be to return to a favorite sport of exercise routine. The strong presence of Mars right now is calling for some kind of action, so you want to direct your energies into the best available channels. The Moon continues its movement through watery Cancer. Soul-searching and reflection are not escape routes, but realistic ways to discover the origin of your feelings, motives and attitudes. A home-cleaning campaign fits in nicely with the extra Mars dynamism that needs to be poured into a safe mold. Your interest in computers, high technology and scientific advances peaks as the Moon makes a flowing trine to Uranus in water signs (3:04PM PST). This is amplified this evening when the Sun approaches a mentally-stimulating 72-degree link to Uranus (exact at 1:04AM PST tomorrow). Learn more about ancient history, mythology, and the ageless wisdom teachings of many cultures from around the world.

Ever see the Dysfunctional Family classic Home for the Holiday's?
This time of year is incredibly hard on most people. Family that is competitive as opposed to supportive; pushing all of your emotional buttons with the alacrity of a foil armed fencer.
With Mars, and the Moon highlighted this year bubble, bubble, toil and trouble.
If you find yourself at the family event that resembles the dysfunctionality of HFTH Look for the relative that has that gleam in their eye, they see it too, and have the ability to find the wry humor in it. Hang out with the kids, the cat, or someone who just appreciates some company because they are lonely.
Merry Christmas!

Weekly Weather Forecast for December 24 – December 30, 2007
by Anne Ortelee

We continue to process all the emotional and profound changes from last week’s sign changes and the previous week’s Jupiter/ Pluto conjunction as we enter the quiet vacation and dream week between Christmas and New Years. This week, only Venus changes signs ~ out of possessive Scorpio and into free loving Sagittarius on Sunday. Process, process, process. That is the best use of your time as you move from family function to party to family function. Process. Also Ceres stations to go direct in Taurus. She creates a grand earth trine making it a WONDERFUL week to put your stake in the ground for your new future. Set a cornerstone, pour some symbolic concrete or carve a rock with the dates and your dreams. They might take a while to appear but there is creation and magic that happens when mother earth starts to move forward again.

Whenever there are profound planetary changes the universe gives us a chance to integrate them into our consciousness before we move on. Jupiter moved into Capricorn and soon Pluto will enter Capricorn. During this time, we are becoming very aware of how responsible we are for creating our dreams.

There was a very large stellium (line up of planets) in Cancer/ Capricorn on last week’s full Moon. We are going to be working with that lunar exclamation point during the week ahead as the planets separate to go on their respective journeys. Capricorn Jupiter, Sun and Mercury were opposite to Mars and Moon in Cancer. Pluto was involved even as he stands in the last degree of Sagittarius adding a transformation call to the energy of the week. Six planets were having a conversation across the heavens, so we tend to notice!

Mars and Mercury are out of bounds in Cancer and Capricorn adding a wild energy to the holiday week. Out of bounds planets in charge of our actions, movement, anger are in face off with communications, cousins and siblings means we can expect unusual behaviors, words or things taking place around these areas during the week. We can expect things that don’t follow the traditional rules of "how things are supposed to be". Out of bounds planets don’t play by the rules as their guide in the sky, the wise Sun, can’t control them. They’ve thrown off his advice. Whiny and irritated is the norm for Mars in Cancer ~ so when you are feeling whiny or irritated about something, take action to change it. No whining. Step in, take action and help it change. Silence is Mercury in Capricorn’s best strategy. Keep silent. Words are particularly powerful all week long so focus them on what you can change about yourself. No nagging the other guy! Capricorn Mercury creates words that are never forgotten as they can dig a trench in the earth of the soul ~ be VERY careful what you say and silence is suggested. People are very sensitive. And they aren’t sure why (they might not study the sky like you do).

The nodes are very busy this week and have quite a few aspects. Now that the north node is in Aquarius, the community or collective is there for us, IF we look for it or ask it for help. The collective wants to support the changes we need to make to get our dreams to come true. Take time to speak to your various families of choice, of love or of origin about your hopes and dreams for your next 13 years. Get them talking about their hopes and dreams. Point out the December 1994 cycle, November 1981 cycle, October 1968 cycle and September 1956 cycle. Get everyone thinking about the changes that have taken place in their lives over those cycles. Encourage them to dream their dreams for the next 13 years out loud so they can maximize the new cycle before us all. Take advantage of your holiday gatherings to focus your various families on their bigger picture too.

All in all, it will be a pleasant if way too busy week. Take time for yourself. Nurture you. Muse on your future. What do you want to build? Where do you want to go? What is of value to you?

Monday, Sun is opposite to Mars, culminating the full Moon energy from yesterday. Juno joins with the nodes by declination ~ what we partner with, we create. What are you partnering with? Don’t like it? Change. The concept of partnering is not one we often acknowledge. We complain that they won’t change. They need to modify or change to fit our needs. Nope, they are not going to change. You can change! That is all that you control ~ You. You control your choices, reactions, reinforcements and corrections of their behaviors. So, if you don’t like the behavior of the person or people before you ~ stop partnering with it in the same old-fashioned way that you always have. Partner in a new way. It is that easy. Honest .

Tuesday, it’s Christmas! For the most part the aspects are lovely today. One that is not so good is Mars in whiny, cranky, fight with the family Cancer, in an aspect of adjustment with Vesta in detached Aquarius. Get your butt out of the house and go for a walk in the fresh air if you find yourself irritated. Get up and help if you see a situation that needs adjusting or assistance on the home front. We are all looking to change our behaviors in some manner. So help those who always seem to do everything. They are feeling it too. Mercury and the Sun have lovely aspects asking us to be strategic in how we approach things and all will resolve beautifully.

Wednesday, there are many separating aspects suggesting we all travel home, or move out into the world in a new way. Mars is opposite to Jupiter in Capricorn. They are in mutual reception so swap the planets. You can either feel way emotionally over the top and completely out of sorts or be incredibly productive and prolific and competent. It’s your choice. Use the energy consciously and wisely.

Thursday has a squabble and kind of stressed out energy to it. Mercury and Pluto and Neptune are mulling around and not being overly clear. Sit with the anxiety or fear or whatever and let it pass. This is one of those days where tears and high emotions can be expected. Things can end today. Or they can become very passionate over something you don’t even get because its been building for a while now. Thank it and move on.

Friday, we have some residual stressful energy as we have semi-sextiles. These are our cosmic blind spots. We don’t like them. We don’t see them coming. Watch for blind spots! Ceres also stations to go direct so it is time to put the holidays behind us and move on to the future. Ceres is in Taurus. She wants to get busy and build things. Mars is moving backwards towards his opposition to Pluto next week. This is a FABULOUS time to wipe out or get rid of or release the stuff that is clogging your life, closets and bureaus.

Saturn’s day finds us with a pile of aspects including a number of aspects to the nodes. Reach out and touch. Connect. Contact. Communicate. Get in touch with the folks you’ve lost touch with and who you want back in your life for the next 13 years. What is important to you? Start to work on it today. Take advantage of the nodes to do so. Life is about our relationships. What relationships in your life need a bit of nodal connection to nurture them for the future? Go do it.

Sunday Venus enters Sagittarius as Sun trines Saturn. We are not taught that we build our lives through our choices and our non-choices. But build them we do. When I sit across the consulting table or on the phone with someone for a reading and the chart unfolds as a master plan of choices and actions taken or avoided, we both can see how masterful it is. Make a resolve on the eve of New Year’s eve to be conscious of your choices ~ or lack of them too.

Just ask for consciousness in the New Year. Conscious makes it much easier ~ even as the magnitude can overwhelm you at times. Settle in and look at the life you’ve built. What do you want to do? What do you want to change? Where do you want to spend the next 13 years of your life? Choose abundance and a belief in your inherent personal worth. That firmly in place, reach out to the folks near you and help them with their stuff. Remember the airline admonition ~ put on YOUR oxygen mask first, then help the children and people around you. What is YOUR oxygen? What makes your breath quicken and heart take a leap? Include more of that in 2008 too!

Cosmic Calendar, Tuesday December 25th ~

The day seems to begin with excitement and ingenious realizations due to the upbeat 72-degree association between the Sun in Capricorn and revolutionary Uranus in Pisces (1:04AM PST). There is also a comforting and nurturing Moon-Venus flowing trine in water signs (5:18AM PST) that can spark erotic interchanges between loving partners. However, a Mars-Vesta awkward, 150-degree link from Cancer to Aquarius (3:30AM PST) can extend yesterday's martial volatility and ratchet up emotional discontent. Worries about family members can exacerbate the situation. Trying to accomplish too much in a short period of time may backfire. Strive for serenity and peace of mind throughout the morning and afternoon hours. This is even more crucial because the Moon-Venus trine at 5:18AM PST begins a void lunar cycle that lasts until 3:53PM PST. While this twilight zone of uncertainty starts with a highly favorable sky pattern, you should still be completing old business and odd jobs during the 10+ hour void time-period. It is during this 10+ hour time-span that Mercury makes a supportive, 60-degree link to Pallas (11:52AM PST) while also making a harmonious trine to Saturn (3:11PM PST). Both of these alignments are mind-enhancing and can provide stunning insights about your current business projects or plans for the future. However, you don't want to act on these revelations until the Moon enters fiery Leo (3:53PM PST). The arrival of Leo Moon can create a convivial and festive atmosphere for the rest of the day and night. Take advantage of the euphoric environment while it has a strong presence because two celestial polarities tomorrow may once again trigger a lot of adversarial conduct and behavior patterns.

Cosmic Calendar, Wednesday December 26th (Happy Boxing Day!!) ~

Hopefully, you soared like an eagle for a few hours last night as the Moon entered affable and fiery Leo. There is some carry-over this morning as the Moon continues its transit through this heart-centered and child-like sign of the zodiac. In addition, some extra euphoria - leading to greater productivity in your main hobbies and work activities - can develop as Mercury forms a flowing trine to Ceres in earth signs (8:39AM PST). However, if we are looking for a new trend, we see it by examining two, disturbing opposition patterns - Pallas in Pisces polarized to Saturn in Virgo (8:51AM PST) and Mars in Cancer polarized to Jupiter in Capricorn (11:53AM PST). The main problem with having two major oppositions like this in one day is that key relationships are often in a bewildering period of distortion, upheaval or frustration. Now the higher possibility is that a new wave of enlightenment engulfs your primary partnerships. Nevertheless, is that likely to occur when the feisty red planet goes up against king of the gods Jupiter or while just, fair and wise Pallas petitions fate-oriented and time-conditioned Saturn? You can go one way or another today - along the exalted path of inspiration and knowledge-absorption or on a steep decline into stormy contentiousness with dear ones. Clarity may be lost in the shuffle since the Sun makes a frictional, 45-degree link to Neptune (10:42PM PST). You are better off playing card, board or word games than debating issues with family members. Pull away from the rat race and meditate for peace of mind. The love boat appears to be sailing toward exotic ports of call as Venus approaches a parallel formation with distant Pluto (exact at 1:06AM PST tomorrow). Watch your step and be a little cautious as they raise anchor and start the journey.

Hurray for euphoria, meditation and love boats!! (**frantically steers away from the jagged rocks of stormy contentiousness with family**)

Cosmic Calendar, Thursday December 27th ~

As mentioned in yesterday's calendar entry, a Venus-Pluto parallel (1:06AM PST) can assist you in patching up recent romantic tiffs and leading you into a new-found level of mutual satisfaction. On the other hand, anytime Pluto is engaged with one of the planets close to Earth and the Sun an underground force can erupt into emotional upheavals that are difficult to control. Mercury moving into an abrasive, 45-degree link to Venus (8:36AM PST) doesn't exactly summon up an image of peace offerings and sudden tranquility. Be extra sensitive during heady conversations with loved ones. One misused phrase or word can set off a disagreement. This is amplified during the afternoon when the Moon in Leo squares off against Venus in Scorpio (2:34PM PST). While a Moon-Venus skirmish like this is short-lived and probably inconsequential for the most part, it shouldn't be completely ignored. You may want to cheer up companions who are on the ropes. A brief void lunar cycle arrives on the scene at 6:55PM PST when the Moon trines Pluto in fire signs. Utilize the void time-span to complete old business matters on a high note. This limbo time-period ends at 8:45PM PST when the lunar orb enters industrious Virgo. You are now poised for a rapid increase in productivity across the board as the largest asteroid Ceres in Taurus nears an important station and shift from retrograde to direct motion tomorrow afternoon. Turn yourself into an efficiency master around your residence and office environment in the next 24 hours.

Hi 'zala

Are you feeling better yet? We do gotta get back to the B'zarre Holidays, and I'd resolved to spring one back up one of these days.. hopefully I'll get to do that, by the 1st.

Cosmic Calendar, Friday December 28th ~

There is some good news waiting in the wings as you approach the last weekend in 2007. There are two main events today - the largest asteroid Ceres stopping at 10 degrees of Taurus and shifting from reverse to forward (3:10PM PST) while the Sun parallels Jupiter (11:28PM PST), a repeat of what occurred back on December 14. Before these celestial happenings take place, the Sun trines the Moon in earth signs (8:52AM PST) followed by the monthly Moon-Saturn union in Virgo (12:27PM PST). The solar-lunar rapport is invigorating across the board while the Moon conjunct to Saturn can help you launch important career plans or business pursuits. However, Saturn reminds you to be somewhat conservative in your approach and attitudes. Meanwhile, all Ceres themes are prominent today and into the weekend - productivity, mother-daughter relationships, labor, food and diet, land and agriculture, gardens and botany, grains and cereals, nurturance, scarcity and strikes by workers. It's a great day to become more prolific in your key areas of expertise and in arts, crafts and hobbies. Reach out to maternal figures and children in your family circle. Your literary abilities can also flourish this evening when the Moon in Virgo trines Mercury in Capricorn (10:32PM PST). This occurs just before the highly expansive and exuberant Sun-Jupiter parallel (11:28PM PST). Think more about becoming involved in special learning programs and educational pursuits. Be ready for a surprise or two popping up on your psychic radar screen overnight as the Moon opposes Uranus (1:16AM PST).

Cosmic Calendar, Saturnday December 29th ~

There's a distinct need to clean up your act right now. This is due to the Moon continuing its transit through earthy Virgo. Let go of old worries, stress and anxiety. Eliminate critical attitudes and viewpoints that prevent you from spreading goodwill in your greater community. Think about ways you can be of greater service to people in real need. Stock up on health foods, vitamins, supplements, herbs, seasonings, nuts and seeds. Return to your exercise regime with greater enthusiasm. You may experience a shock to the system in the early hours as the Moon opposes Uranus (1:16AM PST) and Venus makes a subtle and yet still important 30-degree link to Pluto (3:27AM PST). Love vibrations are a bit off-kilter this weekend since Venus is also approaching an awkward, 150-degree association with Mars (exact tomorrow afternoon). Let your nurturing disposition come out full force when sharing with loved ones. This is magnified following yesterday's Ceres shift from reverse to direct. If you are looking for a night of wild times, inhibition and expressing highly eccentric behavior, the universe is attempting to fulfill your request, but may fall slightly short of success. Mercury makes a supportive, 60-degree link to Uranus (8:11PM PST). Doing things according to the rulebook is temporarily suspended while you trust your intuition for a change of pace. A little rebellion may be good for the soul this evening. It's definitely a wonderful Saturday night for research, advanced studies, doing computer work, hitting the astrology books, and delving into metaphysical secrets.

Cosmic Calendar, Sunday December 30th ~

You will need to be very attentive today in order to take advantage of the opportunities and steer clear of the challenges. There appears to be a favorable tilt to the cosmic spectrum in the early hours as the Moon passes through a quick void cycle (from 5:09AM PST to 5:38AM PST) - leading to a Libra Moon dispensation for the remainder of 2007. The Moon in this seventh sign of the zodiac reminds you to improve the quality of primary partnerships. It can also boost your creative artistic expression and open new doors to social or cultural activities. Giving your professional ambitions a positive jolt is a flowing trine of 120 degrees between the Sun and Saturn in earth signs (5:24AM PST). You may be in the mood to high-five a colleague, friend or family member around the time that Venus enters Sagittarius (10:03AM PST) - a cycle that lasts until January 24, 2008. Any planet emerging from Scorpionic waters and finding sanctuary in fiery Sagittarius carries a note of optimism, hope and faith in the future. Nevertheless, Venus winds up coming against a potential brick wall in the form of Mars hanging out 150 degrees away at the beginning of Cancer (3:10PM PST). The red planet is still in reverse and about to re-enter the end of Gemini tomorrow morning. The Venus-Mars clash right now can coincide with a new round of worries concerning a romantic bond. Don't become your own worst enemy by demeaning a loved one with a sarcastic comment or rude remark. Sensitivity is the name of the game when it comes to fostering a better rapport with your significant other. Don't stumble into a crisis this evening as the Last Quarter Sun-Moon Phase appears on the horizon (11:52PM PST and energizing 10 degrees of Capricorn and Libra). Cut through mental obstacles in your path that may be on the verge of sending you to the back of the class. Get set for a rousing last day of the year tomorrow.

On Christmas eve, my entire professional life went down the toilet-

simply because of burnout- I have been working about 11 hours a day for 3 weeks.

Everyone around me is so bitter, so negative. I came here so happy, so positive.

*sigh*

Well, the Mars bit certainly holds true, my Mars being at about 28 to 29 deg. Gemini. Whoop de do!!

One of the questions I (ex-AriesTiger) have been asking myself is: how does an AriesTiger deal with a poisonous snake (euphemism for a close relative)?

I could strangle it, but the struggle would be hard. I could sit on it, but it might bite me in the backside.

The best thing to do is take a leaf out of the book of my opposite Chinese animal sign, the Monkey - climb right to the tops of the highest trees in the forest and watch the snake winding away on the forest floor below. Where it will always be, due to its own entrenched attitudes.

This is not a time for losing my temper, but for watching the snake die, by degrees, from its own venom. I don't even need to do anything particularly special, just sit and watch.

MK, *apart from professional life*, how are you these days?

(just 'cos I read your posts and like 'em!)

Thanks, Xena..

I have been working an average of 11 hours a day, 6 days a week. Its always like this in the beginnings of my seasons- and its the holidays, too.

I am not feeling very funny lately. Saturn in Virgo has got me all serious and pedantic.

As soon as I can get some sleep, I swear I will post more.

Looking forward to seeing more of you around here, MK

Cosmic Calendar, Monday December 31st ~

The universe is closing down the old year with a bang of sorts since the red planet Mars makes a shift back into the end of Gemini (8:01AM PST). Mars remains in retrograde motion until January 30, 2008 when it makes its next direct station at 25 degrees of Gemini -- on the discovery placement for Uranus from March 13, 1781. Anticipate a lot of fireworks - on many levels of reality - in the latter part of January and the first half of February. In the meantime, a series of favorable alignments offers you plenty of golden opportunities for success. Pallas in Pisces makes a supportive, 60-degree link to Ceres in Taurus (2:02AM PST). This enlightening and wisdom-generating sky pattern becomes the essential building block for the Sun trine to Ceres (10:52AM PST) and sextile to Pallas (1:37PM PST). Toss in a highly charged, exciting and romance-stimulating Venus-Chiron 72-degree tie (9:48AM PST) and you have a really great way to conclude a momentous 2007. Remember that today's double-emphasis on Ceres rekindles that asteroid's recent station and turn forward last Friday. Your productivity quotient is sky high and ready to soar even higher. If you are planning a night out on the town with a dear one, make sure everything is set up carefully since the Moon in Libra squares Mercury in Capricorn (6:12PM PST). The last thing you need is a communication breakdown. Helping you avoid that problem is a flowing trine between the Moon and Neptune in air signs (9:54PM PST). Usher in the New Year with fun, games, a little fantasy magic, and tapping into your visualization skills. Imagine the next 12 months as a time of worldly achievements, relationship fulfillment, and spreading the message of goodwill around the globe.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

What an awesome forecast!!!

Weekly Weather Forecast for December 31 – January 6
by Anne Ortelee

Happy New Year! 2008 will start off with a literal bang or explosion of clear, evolutionary, possibly destructive, transformative, oppositional energy as Mars retrograde, talking trash, talking his head off in out of bounds Gemini is in a nasty dirt and rock throwing contest opposite to Pluto at the last and most powerful degree of Sagittarius! Wee-haw!!! We are going to be rocking and rolling on Planet Earth as the New Year arrives!

Mercury, Gemini Mar’s ruler, is in powerful Capricorn. Pluto is currently ruled by Jupiter in Capricorn. That means Pluto can give it back as fast as Mars can dish it out. Not that we think Pluto is any slouch at giving it back. Pluto will catch the clots of earth and wild words coming his way and throw them right back at Mars! Expect earthquakes and eruptions from situations or relationships where the pressure has built up to intolerable levels. Capricorn responds to Saturn in Virgo (Mercury is in Capricorn) right now so the criticisms or words will be accurate, precise, painful, critical, sharp, analytical and to the point. This Mars Pluto opposition will be pass number 2 ~ bringing up the unfinished story from around September 21, 2007. Back then, the story was a bit more hopeful. Right now, the story can feel overwhelming and irresolvable. It ISN‘T but it WILL FEEL THAT WAY!! Feelings are not reality! The third and final pass of Mars to Pluto will be on March 7, 2008. Most of the week we will all be feeling or dealing with the harsh Mars/ Pluto energy. And back we go to late September to redo or revisit the decisions we made then on their first pass and opposition to each other.

The best thing to do with this kind of over the top energy is to take some sort of physical action to discharge it. REMEMBER TO DISCHARGE IT CAREFULLY!! It is an energy that is much more powerful than it looks. Clean out closets, get rid of old stuff, empty garages, take inventory, or knock down walls to get ready to renovate. Go to the gym or go walking for miles talking on your cell phone. Avoid or be careful around dangerous situations, as they are explosively volatile right now. It is a great set of aspects to let something go ~ so make your resolutions around releasing rather than adding things. The releasing resolutions will take right off! The adding ones will not go well! It is a great aspect to move away from something you don’t want to do any more ~ like smoke or drink or debt. It is a let go kind of New Year.

The other thing we will be working with is Venus’ fiery opening and very Sagittarian square to Saturn in Virgo. Saturn is not doing as well right now as Mars and Pluto are taking his attention and he’s moving backwards, slowly, in Virgo. Think back to the leaving the party energy from last summer when Venus and Saturn danced with each other and Venus flirted with Pluto. Remember those good times. Venus and Saturn joined twice in Leo before agreeing to leave the party together in Virgo on October 13, 2007 and live happily ever after. Well, it isn’t fun right now on the happily ever after front.

Venus is feeling a bit trapped, ugly, old and unloved right now. Money is tight. Debts are big. There is never ending work that feels like it is not going any place any time soon. Venus is not feeling the love from Saturn (or anyone else for that matter). And truth be told, Saturn is taking Venus for granted and being a cranky, rather critical curmudgeon of an old goat. Venus wants to flee or party or play or at least get out more to do more fun stuff. And SATURN! Saturn in Virgo is doing his best but he’s a bit (a lot) depressed plus he’s going retrograde, or backwards, into his bad old bad habits. His knees hurt. His body is old. He’s tired. And he’s very distracted by the argument between Mars and Pluto ~ that is sapping his less than robust energy. Right now Saturn doesn’t have much energy to spare and he‘s not giving any of his extra energy to Venus.

So what to do on a week like this? I am reminded of the India Aria lyrics for Private Party which I always play when I am having a week like the one coming up. I imagine I will be playing her song quite a bit this week.

I'm having a private party
Ain't no body here but me, my angels, and my guitar
singin' baby look how far we've come here
I'm havin' a private party
Learning how to love me
Celebrating the woman I've become, yeah

I tried to call my mother, but
She didn't get where I was going
I called my boyfriend and he said
Call me back a little later baby
I hung up the phone, I felt so alone
Started to feel a little pity
That's when I realized that I
Gotta find the joy inside of me

[Chorus]

I'm gonna take off all my clothes
Look at myself in the mirror
We're gonna have a conversation
We're gonna heal the disconnection
I don't remember when it started
But this is where it's gonna end
My body is beautiful and sacred
And I'm gonna celebrate it

[Chorus]

All my life (all my life)
I've been looking for (I've been looking for)
Somebody else (else)
To make me whole (ooo)
But I had to learn the hard way (ooo)
True love began with me (ooo)
This is not ego or vanity (ooo)
I'm just celebrating me

[Chorus]

Sometimes I'm alone but never lonely
That's what I've come to realize
I've learned to love the quiet moments
The Sunday mornings of life
Where I can reach deep down inside
Or out into the universe
I can laugh until I cry
Or I can cry away the hurt

[Chorus]

Happy birthday to me
Happy birthday to me
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to me
Happy birthday to me
Happy birthday

So, now that you’ve sung happy birthday to yourself, breathe. Breathe deeply. We arrive in this world alone. We leave this world alone. And in between we have the quiet Sunday mornings of our life, when we realize we are alone. Alone is okay. Alone is part of the journey. Alone is part of the process of living. We are not taught how to work with alone very well in our overconnected, continually stimulated environment. Alone is a good place this week. Find your joy within.

As always, the universe offers us a solution for the difficult energy presented to us by the heavens. Creation!

Yes, you read that right. Create. Creation! There is a grand trine in earth forming between Jupiter, Saturn retrograde and Ceres. Create something you’ve been itching to create. It doesn’t matter if it is baking a cake, writing a book chapter, playing a new song, sewing a dress, or painting your walls. Create something that says you were here. Make it legal ~ no graffiti on a storefront wall. Make it something that you can point to and say “I did that! I created that!” Your creation can even be a releasing project where you let a bunch of stuff go out of your life to create new space for something else to come in. The goal is to feel replenished and rebuilt after you create. Do not be sad because you read a bunch of old love letters before you released them.

The second solution the universe offers us is to adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak. Mercury in Capricorn is approaching an inconjunct to Retrograde Mars in Gemini. That means you can either adjust your thinking (Mercury) or your actions (Mars) but regulate, tinker, modify, alter, fiddle with, fine tune, bend, amend, tweak and adjust one of them you must!

Back to my friends Lisa and Bob from the Venus/ Saturn party last summer. Lisa loves opera, ballet, reading and museums. Bob loves tinkering, puttering, repairing, fishing and doing that man alone in his garage/ toolshed thing. When they first got together, Lisa would nag, cajole, or beg Bob to go with her to the ballet or opera. In her happily ever after dreams, her dream man accompanied her to all of the places she wanted to go. However, the opera, theater and ballet were Bob’s idea of hell. Bob did go a few times, to be nice and because he liked Lisa. We often do things we don’t like when we are dating! Now, Bob liked to take off and go fishing on weekends when Lisa wanted to play with him. Over time and many, sometimes heated, discussions, Lisa and Bob figured it out. They both adjusted their behaviors and expectations. Bob goes to one show a year, of Lisa’s choice. She tries to pick a show she thinks he will like. Lisa still buys the series for the ballet, opera and theater but she takes her sisters, nieces or friends to the other shows. Lisa will go and sit with Bob a weekend or two, on his boat, in the middle of the Ohio River. While he is fishing, she reads. Other times Bob goes by himself or with friends and Lisa does her own thing. Do the same with the situation before you. Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak. It isn’t hard to do. You have to Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak. The universe will help you if you ask for help.

The third thing to do is take advantage of the two lovely mutual receptions in the sky this week. Mutual receptions are when a planet finds itself in another planet’s favorite sign. The two planets have a special kind of communication that takes place. They understand each other and what the other wants to do or achieve ~ like when a good friend knows what kind of wine you like and orders it before you get there. Mutual receptions allow you to swap the energy of one planet and replace it with the other planet. The two planets can speak for each other and act on the other‘s behalf. If you think the energy will be easier to work with, feel free to swap the planets. There is a mutual reception between Mercury and Saturn and another between Mars and Mercury.

Swapping the planets means Mercury in Capricorn can take Mars’ place in the difficult opposition to Pluto. Mercury in Capricorn can speak plain, solid truth to Pluto rather than fighting with him. Mercury in Capricorn knows when to keep his mouth shut. Mercury in Capricorn knows when to put in a well-placed set of examples or precise words to calm the situation. While Mars in Gemini gets dust in his eyes and blinded by the flying earth clumps, Mercury in Capricorn doesn’t mind having earth thrown at him as he IS earth ~ more earth in the air makes Mercury’s earth pile bigger. So be precise, solid, concise and crystal clear in your communications! Know when to keep silent and when to step in if the dust starts flying in the Mars/ Pluto face off.

Mercury and Saturn in mutual reception means an enormous amount of cosmic energy is available to you to organize projects and create massive structured to-do lists or systematize your life. Mercury in Capricorn swaps into the grand trine of creation, replacing Saturn in Virgo. You might not be able to get it ALL created right away but you can get it structured and organized. You can start to make or develop a habit to be creating regular and reliable delivery of energy toward your longer-term projects. You can create a map of where you are going. Saturn in Virgo wants to be organized but he feels SO out of control and unorganized when he‘s in Virgo ~ the multitude of tasks can feel overwhelming to him. What can you help Saturn focus on right now? What is the most important thing you can do?

Now, once you give Saturn some of the energy of Mercury’s Capricorn, Saturn has a goal and a direction to head towards, a mountain to climb. Once Saturn is focused, he’s happy as he can be. He’s completely content to stay home and work on things and his projects instead of being so depressed. Have Mercury sit down with Saturn. Encourage the two of them to do some work together. You don’t have to do it all at once. Delegate. Decide. Make lists. You do have to organize it. And visualize it. And start off with a manageable chunk. Have Mercury show Saturn how to Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. Your current life wasn’t built in a day either. While you have a vision for the next 13 years, you are, right now, focused and sitting in the middle of your current life. Just keep that 13 year vision in the background of your mind. Take regular, repeated actions (teeny, tiny baby steps) to move towards it while you do the rest of the stuff in front of you. Long term, short term, middle term ~ think of them as all different kinds of heights for Saturn to reach for and climb towards. Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak.

Conscious living through Astrology! Mars opposite Pluto and Venus square Saturn provide the energy to move mountains. Get your mind set to go and have an enormous willingness to Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak. Make the compromises to get what you want AND be with the folks you love like Lisa and Bob did. Swap the words for the deeds (just for now while Mars is retrograde!) to push the Mars/ Pluto energy to a productive place of vision not into a fighting place of he said/ she said. Get Mercury to replace Saturn in the triangle of creation to organize your bigger picture and draft plans. Help Saturn get his focus while he’s heading backwards to his direct station ~ Saturn’s got time to read up on what you want to do with your life over the next few months. So give him reading materials and a copy of your plans.

You aren’t going to get it all done at once. You can make a teeny tiny change in an area of your life and your choices. Those tiny changes move you towards your future and your vision for the next 13 years. Stay aware of what you want to create and do the work in front of you. There is lots of stuff to do! What is the most important thing for YOU to do? And, it is a NEW YEAR! And we are about to have a new generation of Pluto energy when he shifts into Capricorn in a few weeks. So much more fun ahead of us. Ready? Get set. GO!!!

Monday, New Year’s Eve finds Mars moving backwards into Gemini from Cancer. Finally, we aren’t going to feel so whiny and cranky any more. Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak. Forward to the Next Year! Venus has an aspect of brilliance with Chiron suggesting we see our loves and desires as sourced within from our soul’s deepest wound. We see what we need to do to have healing. I love 5th harmonic aspects as they make it seem that all is possible. While you might not be able to stop your button (or buttons) from being pushed by the folks you meet, you see where and when and how those buttons GET pushed and why you react so much. Quintiles act like large cosmic cotton balls with soothing salve for your wounds and padding for your buttons. Sing Alicia Keys’ song again. Have yourself a Private Party of your own to celebrate all you‘ve learned and become over the many past years of your life.

Tuesday, the New Year is here! It is a 1 year ~ marking a cycle of brand new beginnings as 2,0,0 and 8 add up to 1! Wee-haw! Mars has a biquintile aspect with Vesta ~ find your family hearth and curl up in front of it! Have fun with your home! Give yourself a ritual before a fireplace or candles to welcome in your resolutions. Remember, letting go is easier than adding right now ~ Saturn and Mars are both retrograde and Jupiter is restricted in Capricorn. So don’t resolve to go on a diet, change your life completely and add an hour of exercise each and every day ~ make your resolutions release changes instead of add changes. Let go of that bowl of ice cream every night. Let go of white foods ~ bread, sugar, pasta. Let go of driving around looking for the parking spot closest to the store entrance (unless it is raining!) so you walk more. Once Mars goes direct at the end of the month you can have as many new add on resolutions as you want (if you really want more). Right now, let go of stuff to go with the cosmic flow! Let go resolutions!

Wednesday Moon is in Scorpio as Mars opposing Pluto perfects. This is a nasty energy if it is poorly used. Back to our lives and our same old, same old, with a high level of cranky thrown in for good measure. Jupiter has a quintile aspect to Uranus ~ there but for the Grace of God go you ~ quintiles remind us of the Grace in our lives. Count your blessings. Swap that Mars in Gemini out and put Mercury in Capricorn in his place. When folks are arguing or irritated or exploding around you, calmly and quietly say a soft word. Keep your mouth closed. Show up. Do your work. Smile. Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak. We partner with things for a reason! What is your reason for partnering with this? Do you see why you are there? Do you see what it gives you?

Thursday, as Saturn squares Juno you might want to reconsider that partnership. Mercury has an aspect of brilliance to the South Node. As I’ve grown as an astrologer, I’ve become more aware of the symbolic energy happening around me. The universe is alive and numinous. It continually speaks to us, if we would only be quiet and take a moment to listen to it. Today is one of those days that the universe will SHOUT at you. Will you listen please? Why are you partnering with things that cause you pain? Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak.

Friday is a crabby, cranky, argue and disagree kind of day. Yes, Moon in Sagittarius is optimistic but a bunch of the planets are in semi-squares, semi-sextiles, sesquiquadrates and seeking to Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak. Mercury has a union with Jupiter asking for clarity about what, exactly, is going on. Take what you hear today with a grain of salt ~ it is a bit over the top due to all the frustration in the air. That said, remember to Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak. Come up with a new way (or a modified way) to approach things. Ask for help!!

Saturn’s day asks us to Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak. Yet again! Move the furniture one more time. No! That doesn’t quite fit there! Do you need it? Do you want it? Take down the Christmas decorations and watch how the colorful, decorated house turns back into the plain old regular house. So what is your 13 year plan for your house and your life? Saturn is asking you to partner with Ceres and create something that is nurturing for your soul, even if it is only a cuddly blanket you can reach for when your toes are cold late at night. Make time to nurture yourself today.

Sunday is a busy day! Venus finishes her square aspect to Saturn. Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak. Sun sextiles Uranus ~ see how the solution was right there in front of you? Be like Lisa and Bob ~ do your own thing, do your partner’s thing (in moderation and to be fun and pleasant) and keep working on your 13 year plan. Rome wasn’t built in a day. But, if you remember to Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak. Then you will find that Pluto and Venus will help you out in creating your dreams.

Often when I do a reading for someone, they will report back that while the reading was technically ‘correct’, the events didn’t turn out quite the way they thought they would based on what I had said. I know I often look at a set of transits in my chart and anticipate a whole different set of events than what appears.

Remember, we bring ourselves, and all of our beliefs, expectations, anxieties, experiences and fears to everything we experience. For today, and maybe tomorrow too, put those things down. Listen to what the universe is trying to tell you. Hear your heart beating. Understand you are here for a purpose. You are a living and breathing incarnation of the heavens as they were at the exact moment at your birth. You are the heavens made live and walking around on earth! That chart of yours was born, with you in the driver seat, to accomplish something! So get working on it! Adjust. Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak. Get to work with the Universe! Have a wonderful New Year!

Cosmic Calendar, Tuesday January 1st ~

If primary partnerships are uppermost in your mind as 2008 dawns, then you are tuning in correctly to the astrological universe. The Moon has been moving through airy Libra since Sunday December 30. Last night's flowing lunar trine of 120 degrees to Neptune in Aquarius could have coincided with inspirations regarding dear ones. Now it may be a little hard to move forward with gusto since the Moon makes a more frictional 45-degree link to Saturn in Virgo (4:15AM PST). However, the planet of dreams, visions and magical acts - Neptune - is back in the news since the Moon makes a parallel to this far-out celestial body (2:10PM PST) while Mercury forms a more subtle and yet still important 30-degree aspect with this ancient ruler of the seas (9:49PM PST). Look toward music, art, photography, film, dance and spiritual studies for revelations. Enhance your leadership credentials during a window of opportunity between 3:53PM PST (when the Moon forms a supportive, 60-degree rapport with Pluto) and 4:34PM PST (when the Moon trines Mars in air signs). However, the latter time starts a void lunar cycle that lasts until 5:33PM PST when the Moon enters intensive Scorpio. The lunar orb summons up mysterious and secretive forces from the vast underworld realm of consciousness every month when it transits through this passionate water sign of the zodiac. Don your Agatha Christie disguise and solve personal or familial enigmas that have escaped resolution for decades. Love vibrations surge (temporarily) this evening as Venus in Sagittarius approaches a 30-degree association with Jupiter in Capricorn (exact at 4:44AM PST tomorrow). Nevertheless, romantic storm warnings are posted for January 2 when Mars opposes Pluto and Juno is roughed up by Saturn.

Zala, Thank you for this Forecast.

"Yee-haw" you say... Is it not more like a whimpering cry for help while hiding under the table?

I am feeling this week badly, or maybe it is a good thing in the end... right? Wishful thinking. I am just sabotaging my life!

Basically, I could not "lie" to save my life this week, meaning that my usual diplomacy is somehow flushed down the toilet and I am just not keeping my mouth shut as I usually do. Instead, everything I feared doing a few weeks ago seems a little trivial right now. And, I seem to be enjoying being the BS Police, meaning that I can smell it a mile away and I will remove it before it festers.

You know, sometimes you keep quiet to avoid discord... well, this week I feel that being quiet will build resentment and that discord is the only way to dig deep into the problem and get rid of it. So, I am scaring myself basically. I feel possessed by a very cheeky, reckless yet honest fool.

I am just being very unusually confrontational and fearless, which is very very unusual for me, especially if I am the "David" angering the "Goliaths" of this world. People have come to me with orthodox behavior of tip-toeing around people, the schmoozing, the "ha ha ha when nothing is funny behaviour" and it is as if I declared myself the "Truth Crusader"... and I can not take it when people waste my time with pleasantries that have no purpose.

I just feel stupid this week.

I feel stupid because I feel like the President would come to me right now, and if he were to say something stupid, I would not tolerate it, and I would tell him to his face that he is not making sense... where normally I would probably just nod and smile, and speak internally that the President is stupid. For example...

May the Universe give me strength to shut up!
I am not being malicious about it. It is just that I am welcoming the storm to clean out the dirt and replenish the earth, so to speak... and I seem unable to control myself. I can NOT hold on to something like anger, confusion or superficiality. If such things come my way, I call them out and disinfect.

I need to duct-tape my mouth until this is over!

Hello Ms Mars Is this really the best idea for your energy??

I think not
It's never easy to be the BS Police, but somebody has to take on the job once in awhile to keep the rest of us in line.....

I am sending you some additional courage and strength to get thru this contentious week, luv

I've still got this damn cold/flu -- IT'S JUST NOT FAIR!!! (#1 Libran lament)

Well, with the letting go theme, The flu is bound to leave now... Get well already!

Let me share my experience today...

Funny thing just happened now...

I was making a casserole, in a clay dish, some Veggies. They were/are cooked to perfection, I must say... and The balsamic vinegar and olive oil "stock" from the veggies had reduced to a lovely consistenvy... perfect for dipping in some bread in the juices...

Basically... everything was perfect!

As I take the bowl out of the oven... it cracks in half, the sauce burns my arm and leg...

This just happened. But I'm ok.

I was going to have this with some vegetarian soya sausages... so I pan fried one. As soon as it got cooked, after cleaning the vegetable mess... I left the sausage on a napkin to absorb the oil... and went to my bedroom, to my computer... to LL...

...only to find that at FFA, it is apparently my birthday. LOL... (Moonie, you're a sweetie-pie for the gesture)

Then I go back to the kitchen and the sausage has disappeared.

LOL...

I ask the people in the house, " Where's my sausage?" which cracked me up just saying it.

Turns out the sausage is in the sink. No one knows how it got there.

I had to make another sausage and finally... I had my dinner.

So, I would like to let go of being clumsy and absent minded... but wait... I am not clumsy and absent minded. so WTF?

So it is duct tape and a straight-jacket now.

You are hilarious, dolly!!! "where's my sausage??"

I'm not sure if I can help about that absent mind, tho.....
Thanks for seeing my flu gone!

Cosmic Calendar, Wednesday January 2nd ~

Even though this could be a very rocky day, you may be able to make progress along many fronts. No matter what temporary difficulties stand before you right now, keep in mind that 2008 will bring the two largest planets - Jupiter and Saturn - into three flowing trine patterns of 120 degrees in earth signs. These alignments take place on January 21, September 8, and November 21. The first of this trio of nurturing sky patterns takes place in a little less than three weeks and will open the gates of potential success in business, professional, educational, publishing and literary fields. The main challenge today is that Mars - in retrograde motion since November 15 and having just re-entered Gemini - opposes distant Pluto (1:29PM PST). Add on a late-evening Juno square to Saturn in mutable signs (11:36PM PST) and there is a tendency toward increasing volatility in romance and partnership matters. You can soften the impact by tapping into upbeat and ingenious energies when Venus makes a 30-degree link to Jupiter (4:44AM PST) and especially in concert with a mentally-stimulating Jupiter-Uranus 72-degree alignment (10:45AM PST). These two encouraging planetary aspects - both involving giant and expansive Jupiter - may not completely neutralize the shadow sides of the Mars-Pluto and Juno-Saturn clashes, but at least they give you a fighting chance to be enterprising and productive for long periods of time today. There are a few other golden nuggets during the course of this second day of 2008 as the Moon parallels Venus (11:06AM PST), the Moon makes a supportive, 60-degree sextile aspect to the Sun (5:58PM PST) and Juno in Sagittarius makes a lively 72-degree liaison with Neptune in Aquarius (8:11PM PST). The Moon-Venus parallel - similar to a conjunction in the zodiac - is rather short-lived in terms of influence, but it can still bring you a boost in love and money matters. The asteroid Juno - so active today via its contacts with Saturn and Neptune - has a lot to do with the themes of empowerment, fair treatment under the law, the need for equality and respect in relationships, and acting diplomatically when it comes to sensitive issues with significant others. Overall, be cautious as you go about your work and tasks as a Mars-Pluto polarity packs an emotional wallop and can always send you reeling to the back of the class if you slip up. Projecting anger onto dear ones and colleagues is a no-no. Keeping the bigger picture of what you want to accomplish in 2008 firmly in focus and perspective will help you to remain on target and reach your higher goals.

Zala... {{{hugs}}}

No worries about the burn. It is healed. Just some red bumps from the oil splatter. It should be gone in two days.

Oh my... *sigh*

I have to apologize for my big mouth now. Great!

Okay... I have slipped already so it is time to dust myself off and try again. I need to humble myself, apologize for being abrupt, and weigh what's important between my 'pride' and angering people who can make my life difficult.

But tomorrow. *sigh*

I hate apologizing.

And weirdly, what has been making me "verbal" is the feeling of superiority from people around me, their "egos" have been irritating me. I feel underestimated and I am bearing my little fangs to show that I am not a doormat.

*Quotation marks around the word 'egos' because it could just be my inferiority complex at work.*

Christ. I am also whining a lot!

You are right... I need to be by myself even more; then I need to get creative and get lost in Neptunian things and leave the real world for a while.

So what if people assume the wrong things about me, right?

Right.
And I wouldn't be so quick to denigrate your fangs there, my lovely
Those people around you DO have large out-of-control egos, tho -- no need to tiptoe (or "quote") around it
And you are NOT whining: you are sharing the events of your day and your perspective on them.

Cosmic Calendar, Thursday January 3rd ~

Easy does it! Many people will experience an emotional hangover following yesterday's Mars-Pluto polarity and Juno-Saturn clash. In addition, the Moon continues to meander through Scorpionic waters - including a void lunar cycle that begins at 4:32PM PST (during a Moon-Mercury supportive 60-degree link) and continues until 6:14AM PST Friday morning. All things considered, you want to focus on key errands and major tasks in the early hours. The good news is coming from a flowing trine between the Moon and Uranus in water signs (12:51AM PST), and a mind-expanding Moon-Jupiter parallel (2:26PM PST). It's a great morning and afternoon for exploring online sources of information, learning software programs, and checking out high-tech devices at a favorite computer or electronics store. If you are into metaphysical pursuits, go for the gold under this auspicious double-dose of high-flying astrological energies. Nevertheless, you should be on your best behavior with dear ones and colleagues since Mercury makes a frictional, 135-degree link to Saturn (6:46PM PST) while Mercury also connects to Juno via a 45-degree aspect (11:47PM PST). Pushing your personal agenda at all cost will probably boomerang with nasty results. Remember that under Scorpio Moon, it may be wise to conduct private research and investigations that you can control from start to finish. Take a break from serious matters this evening and immerse yourself in a rousing film classic or sci-fi thriller from one of the masters of that literary genre. Overnight decision-making gets the axe while the lunar orb is void in late Scorpio territory.

Cosmic Calendar, Friday January 4th ~

Racing ahead at top speed too early in the day may backfire since the Moon remains in void mode in Scorpio until 6:14AM PST. At that moment, the lunar orb switches allegiance from the second water sign of the zodiac to the third and final fire sign - Sagittarius. Of all the lunar shifts - from one sign to another - during the course of the 27+ day Moon cycle, the change from Scorpio to Sagittarius is probably the most severe. You can breathe a sigh of relief once the Moon is safely in enthusiastic and exuberant Sagittarius. Now is a good time to zero in on key goals - particularly if they are related to literary, publishing or educational pursuits. You may also want to focus attention on up-and-coming travel and vacation plans or athletic interests. Learn more about holistic healing techniques and alternative medical practices while the Sun in Capricorn makes a subtle and yet still important 30-degree link to Chiron in Aquarius (2:59AM PST). Golden opportunities are popping up all over the place as two lofty alignments occur close together - the monthly Moon-Venus union (7:21PM PST) and Mercury in parallel formation with Jupiter (8:28PM PST). The cosmos does not always stack up two sensational and inspiring aspects in a little over one hour of time. Love vibrations are increasing in frequency, and communications can be crisper and clearer. Therefore, utilize the afternoon and evening hours to the hilt as you explore the arts, sciences, musical improvisation, social and cultural activities, and almost anything that strikes your fancy. Enjoy a night on the town and kick up your heels for a change of pace. You and a beloved can find plenty of time to rock and roll since the Moon unites with Juno in Sagittarius (reaching exactitude at 12:17AM PST tomorrow).

Cosmic Calendar, Saturday January 5th ~

A big question today is whether you can stay high as a kite during the lunar Sagittarian dispensation or whether some of the cosmic challenges lining up will rain on your parade. Antique hunters should be able to rejoice in their treasure-seeking adventures this morning following the monthly Moon-Juno union (12:17AM PST). Even a Ceres-Saturn parallel - similar to a conjunction in the zodiac - at 10:38AM PST can place a major focus on purchasing valuable items of historical interest. Be on the lookout for family memorabilia, old letters, vintage collectibles and heirlooms. Gear up for some brainstorms, surprises or shocking news as Mercury makes an abrasive, 45-degree link to Pallas (11:37AM PST) while the Moon in Sagittarius squares Uranus in Pisces (1:15PM PST). Despite these two discordant celestial vibrations, this is still an excellent day to pursue a favorite sport. Athletic contests and board, card or word games are highlighted. Weather permitting, enjoy a nature trek or visit to a national landmark. Many people feel more restless and eager to travel when the Moon triggers the fires of lofty Sagittarius. You may want to focus on protecting your assets and investments during the early evening since Vesta in Aquarius makes an awkward, 150-degree connection to Saturn in Virgo (8:17PM PST). Worries about a loved one's safety - warranted or not - may be building up inside. Make sure your own residence and office area are secure. Hit the astrology, astronomy, science or philosophy books late in the evening - courtesy of a dynamic and illuminating Sun-Uranus 60-degree rapport that becomes precise tomorrow morning at 4:20AM PST. Prepare yourself for a turbulent day on Sunday as six potent sky patterns attempt to short-circuit your equilibrium.

Cosmic Calendar, Sunday January 6th ~

This could turn into one of those days - if you are not careful. The good news happens early and is also spread throughout the day. A Sun-Uranus supportive, 60-degree link (4:20AM PST) can coincide with great inspirations lifting up your consciousness in the morning hours. Write down revelations in a special journal. Shortly thereafter, Pallas makes a mentally-stimulating 72-degree association with distant Pluto (6:22AM PST) while Venus connects via a similar aspect with its higher octave planet, Neptune (8:53AM PST). Golden opportunities for growth and evolution abound. Inventive notions can illuminate your mind. The fine and graphic arts appear to be a gold mine ready for excavation. However, Venus in fiery Sagittarius squares Saturn in earthy Virgo (5:40AM PST) followed by an off-kilter Mercury-Mars 150-degree link (1:33PM PST). This is a classic example of two rather caustic cosmic alignments neutralizing the beneficial qualities of three harmonious sky patterns. Add on a Venus-Vesta sextile of 60 degrees at 12:46PM PST and you have somewhat of a stand-off between the themes of success and failure, hopes and fears. The Venus-Saturn clash reminds you to be more careful when it comes to romance and business matters. The Mercury-Mars awkward tie suggests a need to be more conservative on the communication front. Nevertheless, around the time of the Venus-Vesta liaison, you may be able to pad your bank account and fine-tune investment planning for the future. Intensity reigns when the Moon makes its monthly union with Pluto at 4:28PM PST. Pluto is just 19 days away from entering Capricorn in a temporary visit that lasts for approximately 140 days before Pluto re-visits Sagittarius until November 26. The Moon is void for just a little over one hour - entering Capricorn at 5:44PM PST. It's a great night to catch up with studies, literary efforts and educational endeavors as the Moon approaches its monthly union with Jupiter (precisely at 2:28AM PST on Monday).

I love this empowering forecast for the week!!

Weekly Weather Forecast for January 7th – 13th
By Anne Ortelee

Our new year begins in earnest this week! Happy 2008! And it is a ONE year ~ new beginnings all around us. New beginnings abound!! And, for the first time in a fairly long while, we actually have cooperative, productive aspects. So let us all make sure to take advantage of the heavens offering us goodies this week and make sure to get busy!!!

First up, Mercury moves out of Capricorn and into Aquarius on Monday. Expect brilliant ideas and fascinating things to arrive on your doorstep, mail box, inbox, email account and phone message box now that Mercury’s moved into Aquarius. FOLLOW UP!!! Or initiate! Or do something! This is a terrrrriiiiffic week to launch new stuff! Yes, launch even if Mars is retrograde ~ the new stuff is going to evolve like the rest of your life does. Just get it out into the world! ~ Retrogrades are part of life too! At least get a working prototype out to the world. Go for it! Label it a draft so you can revise it down the road when you want to!

Second, Venus joins with Juno, suggesting new partnerships start with things that are profitable, helping you grow, evolve or change. You are not your mother, your father, your family or your past. You are your current YOU ~ whatever you’ve grown to become! What are you? Who are you? I received an interesting email from two very creative friends, Wura and Ana, who wrote of watching a movie where one of the characters asks: why are we so afraid to try new things? Every day when we wake up we experience a new morning, it's never the same, it's always a first, and we're not afraid of morning. So they and two other artists began the year with the creation of a new calendar which complements their project of making art for 366 days ~ a painting or sculpture or writing or whatever new wants to emerge. Each of the four artists is taking the quadrant of the day they Love the most and blogging about their creative process. Read more about their project and the things they create at http://penzitspronouncedpants.blogspot.com/

What you partner with, especially with Venus involved, especially when she is in fiery, changeful, expansive Sagittarius, you create! What do you want to partner with as Juno in Sagittarius invites you to partner with your fire, your spark, your passion, your vision of your life? What do you want to create? As Venus joins with Juno, the asteroid of partnerships, they EACH start a new cycle of creative partnerships! Off you go into your future. What can you commit to Venus and Juno (and maybe ask a friend or three to hold you accountable, laugh and play with) to do each and every day, to partner with, to co-create your future? It doesn’t have to be big ~ it has to be about creation. Creating the new in your life. Creation is about making something. My dictionary says Creation is 1. the bringing of something into existence; 2. earth and its inhabitants: the world and everything on it; 3. something created by somebody: a product of human imagination or invention. You create your life anew every day when the sun rises again in the east! You are part of Creation! Create!

Third, right behind the conjunction of Venus and Juno and the movement of Mercury into the brilliance of Aquarius‘s all seeing detachment, we have a new Moon at 17:33 Capricorn on Tuesday. New Moons are New Beginnings. It is a very amazing New Moon as everything in the chart relates back to exalted Mercury in Aquarius and Saturn in Virgo. Read the New Moon report on this site for more information on the energy. It promises to be a fun, creative, profitable and productive Moon. It has a collection of planets clustered in late Sagittarius, Capricorn, and Aquarius ~ wherever that powerful bundle of energy ends up in YOUR chart is going to be super charged with new beginnings. Begin 525,600 minutes of new beginnings on this New Moon!

The lunation trines the Virgo eclipse from last September bringing up solutions to problems which surfaced back then. Mars meanders backwards, still out of bounds, still retrograde but NOW, because Mars is in Gemini until the end of the month, he’s in a much better frame of mind! Mars is ruled by that brilliant Mercury in Aquarius instead of crabby Moon based Cancer! Mars is not feeling so whiny, scared or needy. Mars is feeling visionary, brilliant, wild, wily, smart, creative and clear eyed. And so Mars is!

So back you go to when Mars entered his shadow, last September 15, right after the Virgo/Pisces eclipses. Dare to dream now. You weren‘t quite ready to take advantage of creating your life because of what was going on back then. There were too many things drawing your attention, distracting you or not clear yet. Now, you are clear-eyed and a bit more ready. Clear-eyed and ready ~ what a great combination! So, forward you go, in a backwards kind of way until the end of the month when Mars goes direct, to clean up, redo, remix, restart, revisit projects or dreams from September. Get it all organized for going forward at the end of the month when Mars turns direct. Vision your big picture and keep it in the back of your mind!!!

And do a bit, each and every day, like my friends Wura and Ana are doing to create your future. They are wonderful artists so creation of art IS their work. But, truth be told, we are all wonderful artists who create, consciously or unconsciously, our own lives by our choices and actions. We each are the artists of our lives. Start to take a little creative action each and every day to move toward your 13-year plan from the Jupiter/ Pluto conjunction a few weeks back. What you partner with, you create. It is as easy as that!

And, just to prove you ARE your mother’s child ~ even as you are your own self too ~ remember what she used to say when she didn’t like one of your friends? Do you have a friend (and your ‘friend’ can be your cigarettes, drugs, drink, food or playing endless games of solitaire on your computer) you are wishing you could separate from and maybe not spend so much time with? You are about to be judged by what and where you choose to spend your time! Pluto is moving into Capricorn. We are all going to be much more accountable ~ for everything ~ once THAT transition happens.

People spend time with and on the things they Love. What do you Love? Can you spend more time with what you Love? Can you spend less time with the difficult or not such great friend of yours? Can you spend less time with the not Loved parts of your life? I’d put any negative self talk or friends who talk harshly toward you in that pile. And maybe any harshness towards your soul’s purpose too! You incarnated to be the best version of the heavens you could be. What is it? What is the best version of you that you can be?

Remember the issue with Saturn in Virgo is that we can be very, very critical of who, where, how, when and what we are. We are who we are. If we don’t like who we are, every Virgo worth her salt can tell you, it only takes a moment to make a teeny, tiny change. Change a bit here and voila!, it gets the ball rolling. And the rest of the change will often take care of itself.

The positive version of Virgo assesses how ripe her tomatoes are. The positive version of Virgo knows what to do with the different versions of tomato ripeness before her ~ eat them, cook them, can them or let them sit on the vine a bit more. The negative version of Virgo yells at the tomatoes to ripen already and stop being so darned green! Are you yelling at your unripe tomatoes? Do you think that helps your tomato to ripen? What do you Love? Can you spend more time with what you Love today instead of shouting at your tomatoes?

Monday: Are you yelling at your unripe tomatoes? Do you think that helps the tomato ripen? Mercury enters Aquarius today ~ shifting out of rule and earth bound Capricorn to flying high, brilliant air Aquarius where he can conjure, plan, create and plot to his heart’s content. There are a number of very stressful yet interesting aspects with Mercury today as he leaves Capricorn. He’s having conversations with his brother the Sun by declination about how he wants to shine and with Pluto about his skills and talents that he wants to take out into the world. Listen to Mercury’s messages today.

Tuesday: Read the New Moon column on this site for extra insight on how to work with the energy of the New Moon. Begin 1, 30, 300, 1001, or 525,600 things today. Begin! What do you Love? Can you spend more time with that today instead of shouting at your unripe tomatoes? Mercury’s aspect of brilliance with Uranus might look like a mistake but it is actually a profound revelation! Watch for all things that appear to be mistakes and transform them into miracles!

Wednesday: Are you STILL yelling at your unripe tomatoes? Why do you think that helps the tomato to ripen? What do you Love? Can you spend more time doing what you Love today instead of shouting at your tomatoes? Venus has rather harsh aspects. Are you being your own worst critic? What does that get you? Mercury has a gift of brilliance to Saturn and Mars. As Ana and Wura noted we are so afraid to try new things. Every day when we wake up we experience a new morning, it's never the same, it's always a first, and we're not afraid of morning. Move past your fears to your hopes. Move to your Loves. Act from the place that you Love to be. It is that easy. That said, Mercury has a message for you about the ease of creation when you are in your center, especially when you are in your soul’s creative center. Create. Create. Create! CREATE! C-R-E-A-T-E!!!!

Thursday: Are you yelling at your unripe tomatoes again? What do you Love? Can you spend more time with what you Love today instead of shouting at your tomatoes? Not much in the way of aspects except the Aquarius Moon has an eclipse with Neptune. If you didn’t sleep too well last night, can you act on your dreams’ messages to you? If you did sleep well, watch what happens around your creative ideas today. The Moon is pushing you forward. Leave those unripe tomatoes alone!

Friday: Yelling at tomatoes? Do you think that helps ANY tomato to ripen? What do you Love? Actually, today IS a day when we might want to shout at our tomatoes, Or maybe we can come to understand that ripe tomatoes take time, Sun, soil, water and a good patch of earth. Venus has sextile aspects with Chiron while Vesta sextiles Juno. And Venus and Vesta are talking to each other as are Juno and Chiron. These four energies in Aquarius and Sagittarius are chatting back and forth, planning and creating. Can you give yourself some time today to listen to their advice? Can you create a space of time to Love yourself, right where you are? At the level of ripeness you are at? Can you settle down for a moment and let the creative forces of the universe wash over you? Light a candle, or look at light and take a deep breath. Mercury has an aspect to Venus sending all his brilliance into her being and thus spreading it among Chiron, Juno, and Vesta. Mercury and the Sun are involved with magnifying energies today ~ good or bad they are active.

Saturn’s day: ~ so what do you Love? Can you spend more time with that today? Venus squares Uranus causing a break in the energy of creation. Or perhaps a breakthrough. There is a somewhat cranky energy between Mars and the way we’ve always done It gal Vesta. Gotta remember ~ Vesta is charged with keeping the hearth. She has to bank the coals properly, in the traditional way, or the fire goes out. She’s not big on changes. She doesn’t want the fire she tends to go out. Everything changes. You can too. Sun has a fabulous aspect for letting go of a bad old behavior you want to release ~ it will drift out of your life like it never existed. It will burn out and be a dead ember in the fireplace. You know it existed. But today is a day to let things leave your life forever, if you’d like them to. It is a day to let the fire go out. And if you do, it will be gone~ the combination is like magic. Or like water on a hot ember ~ and then the fire is gone.

Sunday: Mercury needs to adjust. Right after bi-quintiles, the inconjunct appears in aspect order. I always think of it as being an interesting concept ~ first the gift and then the anxiety from the gift appears asking us to deal with the other guy’s reaction or maybe our own reaction to having the previously unnoticed skill. Adjust. Adjust. Adjust! Regulate. Tinker. Modify. Alter. Fiddle with. Fine tune. Bend. Amend. Tweak. Tinker. Tweak. And don’t yell at your unripe tomatoes, Love them instead! When I was in my first ever astrology class, I would go home and read, rather obsessively, on the topic(s) we‘d covered. I’d return to class the next week, loaded with zillions of questions. Astrology was my Mozart, my bi-quintiles, my passion, my obsession and ultimately an enormous gift and now my career!

However, there was Another Student, a bit of a curmudgeon, who sat on the couch with me. She would bark at me “Now WHERE did you get THAT from?” whenever I asked a question, especially the ones that came from my readings. She was a Triple Virgo ~ trust me, they can shout at their tomatoes or at least their fellow students! In a quiet moment with my teacher, he gently pointed out that Triple Virgo did that barking/ shouting thing with every one in the class, not only to me. So I watched Triple Virgo bark and shout for a bit. And, sure enough, my teacher was right. Triple Virgo did bark and shout at lots of other people in our class. I’d only noticed her doing it to me! So I learned to not let people, particularly Triple, Double or Single Virgos, barking and shouting at me about my astrology bother me. I share this story because that might happen to you today. So if someone shouts at you today as you do something you Love, smile at them and go on doing what you Love. Saturn is very active today. Maybe that shouting and rather cranky curmudgeon before you is working out their own stuff which has absolutely nothing to do with you at all! Or maybe they like to shout at their tomatoes. You are doing what you Love. Ignore them.

Mundane: A few weeks back, our number two in the USA State Department, John Negroponte, went to Pakistan for a visit with the powers that be. I joked to a friend, “Oh, great, NOW we’ll have death squads in Pakistan! Wherever dear old “black bridge” goes death squads appear!” Well, it feels like the world wide chess game got a bit wilder with Benazir Bhutto‘s assassination! These folks don’t mess around. Better a crazy guy we control with nukes and a mustache than a woman returning from exile to lead her country out of the darkness and the wildness of military rule. As the south node entered Leo, the sign of kings, queens and leaders, we lost her.

I think it is fascinating that Bhutto’s 19 year old son, or Sun, will be taking over the political party of the family. Her son, of course, was profoundly affected by the recent eclipses. They are the same eclipses that took place when he was in the uterus of his Mother. Any pre-natal eclipses activated mark major turning points in our lives! And, now, at the return of the eclipses 19 years later, he lost his mother. And the upcoming series of eclipses? Well, the Sun and Moon are on the Sabian Image of “A Man Unmasked.” We live in interesting times.
