I'm looking into these aspects of mine to figure out how they may be playing out for me. I have Aquarius on the third house cusp, and Mercury (5th house) opposite Uranus (11th house). So it looks as though my communication style is very Uranian - though I'm not sure how?!

So I'm wondering if anyone else here has these aspects? I'm curious to know how they manifest for you, so maybe it'll give me a handle on it's working for me too.

I have an Aquarius 3rd house cusp with a cross-sign Mercury/Uranus conjunction. My Mercury is in Capricorn and my Uranus is in Sagittarius. My Mercury is also conjunct my Sag Saturn and my Sun and Neptune in Capricorn. Finally, I have the Moon in Aquarius in the third house. I find that the third house/Uranus/Mercury/Aquarius influence makes me very intellectually curious and pretty quick in jumping to conclusions (though the Saturn influence stops me from actually speaking my mind before I have all the facts). It also enhances creativity and gives a "lightning intuition." Which is true for me since I usually find solutions to problems when I'm not working hard to find them at all. When I think too hard about something, it seems that my mind is not as quick as it is when I'm just relaxed and doing something else altogther. I also find that learning new languages is usually pretty easy for me (maybe the Sag influence). It can also mean that the person has an alternative learning style/interesting way of retaining info/studying. Astrology is also ruled by Uranus/Aquarius. There's more, but I think I've typed enough for now. Does that help any, GeminiLover?

I have Aqua on the 3rd with Saturn in Aqua close to the hse cusp and a close stellium of Mars, Merc and Jup, all in Aqua opposed closely to Uranus.

I think WAY faster than I speak and I tend to speak fast, too.

When typing, my thoughts get far ahead of the actual speed I am typing, hence lots of typeos and I always have to go back and edit.

With Saturn in Aqua, in the 3rd, however, I often can not say what I am really thinking/feeling.

I prefer writing to communicate rather than speaking.

I, too, have those lightning bolt intuitive flashes, but with a Pisces sun, my intuition is first deep and usually a feeling/knowing form.

I have noticed that when I have too much caffine, my mind operates even faster as does my mouth!

From what I have experienced, Uranus has a big effect on the central nervous system and with Merc/Uranus the native is sometimes predisposed to anxiety and/or nervous disorders.

Ahhh, ahhhhhhhh... thank you! That does give me some insight!

I do think faster than I speak, and that's why I prefer typing to writing by hand. I have a very fast typing speed (I used to be the fastest speed typist at my school! haha) and it's only this that allows me to keep up with the speed of my thoughts, so I pretty much type as I think, but even then my thoughts can still be too fast, coming in flashes and I have to ignore a lot of what pops into my head. It's so cool being able to type fast. Also I say things as soon as I think them. Ahhhhhhh and languages! Yeah! I'm not fluent at anything but whenever I've started to learn a new language I've picked it up fast, and my main talent there is pronunciation. Sag influence for me too. However sometimes I start to learn something and then my mind will be taken by something else so I leave a lot of things unfinished or something to 'get back to later'.

And I have become more prone to nervous activity and anxiety in the last couple of years. Less so before that - I think being a Taurus really helps with this. Oh! I used to get a lot of nerve twitching when I was a kid though.

And I speak fast if I've given the chance! When I'm stressed I speak even faster. Generally though I try to speak slowly because I know it's a better way of getting things across (I trained as a teacher and worked for years as a university tutor, so clarity and giving people time to digest concepts has been an important skill). And now that I think about that whole thing with alternative learning styles, I don't think my own style of learning is particularly different, BUT part of my strength as a teacher and tutor I believe, is that I *strongly* emphasise the importance of individual learning styles and I have always tried to cater to that as much as possible with my students by using a variety of methods of instruction AND allowing freedom of choice.

This is so interesting! Thanks for sharing your experiences with these placements.

How about your experience of siblings and short journeys??

My brother is a Gem, interestingly enough!

We were close as kids, but so different and only keep in touch here and there---VERY different lifestyles.

It is funny, tho, when my spacey, trippy, mystical self says something off the wall to him, he kind of tilts his head, much like a little bird, and analyzes for a moment, then gets it!!!

(I had never looked until now but to no suprise to me, his Sun trines my stellium in Aqua, my Merc within 2 deg and my Mars exact)

Short journeys??? Well, I often travel to the beach, about 3 hrs from where live, but mostly I like to go for drives in the country, I do this ALOT, I suppose you could consider this a short journey. These things clear my mind, but I always find my mind going a mile a minute while engaging in my "short journeys."
