Does anyone know what in a chart indicates having half-siblings or half-siblings you never met? I'm kind of curious.IP: Logged |

What a great question for a thread. My gut instinct would be to stick with the third house, and its rulers. I did a quick google on this topic and came up with this link: http://www.astrolog.com.au/pages/yourotherhalf.htm The one below shows extracts from a book called "Mapping Your Family Relationships", which looks interesting, the author looks at siblings, half-siblings, step-siblings and the dynamics between them: http://books.go ogle.com/books?id=zm73JTy-Sh8C&pg=PA99&lpg=PA99&dq=astrology+house+%22half+siblings%22&source=web&ots=4sJ68lL1kL&sig=JNqD97wki5O9N_8jm442EV3w5WU There was one being sold on Amazon UK for 13 pence, so I've bought it! I'll get back to you if it's good.

Hmm. My sister is actually my half-sister, and I have:Aquarius on 3rd house cusp Venus in Gemini Mercury conjunct sun Mercury opposite Uranus Mercury in mutual reception with Venus. My bf has several siblings, 3 of them being half-siblings. He has: Gemini on 3rd house cusp Sun, Mercury and Venus in Gemini Mars trine Mercury What these aspects actually mean I'm not sure. It does seem that with so many Gemini and third house placements going on, there seems to be a relationship to him having so many siblings. IP: Logged |

O.K, so looking at the link to the book above:GeminiLover's 3rd House (co)ruler is Uranus, which is in opposition to Mercury. According to the author, that could suggest that you can get along but you're not that close. Mr Gemini has Mercury as ruler of the 3rd house and 3 planets in Gemini (are they in the 3rd house?) which sounds busy. Mercury is trine Mars, which sounds active and lively. Maybe he argues a lot with them but in a constructive way, you know, they set each other straight when needed. Without looking at both charts or knowing ascendant rulers that's my patchy effort.

Thanks, you guys! Perhaps an Aquarius third house cusp or Mercury in aspect to Uranus could mean there are half-siblings. What do you guys think about a third house Moon in Aquarius- might that indicate a sibling relationship that is unusual or distant in some way? Also, what about siblings you never met? Mercury in aspect to Neptune? IP: Logged |

Hey, thanks blue moon! This is a good start. Ok... my sister and I used to have LOTS of fun together, and together we have a crazy (Uranian?) sense of humour. However in the past several years we don't see each other much due to work schedules, distance, etc - and often when we do see each other she gets in a bad mood. So there are often arguments that spring up which I didn't want or really expect (Mercury opposite Uranus?). And yes, Mr Gemini's Gem planets are all in the third house. He is very busy and involved with his siblings - mostly he's involved with his 2 younger brothers (who aren't half-siblings) and mostly he seems to be helpful to them. With his older half-brothers there's less contact, and with one them there are arguments because that brother can be volatile.
