I think if you're gaining weight it is due to eggnog and other festive foods. Not a transit. That is my uneducated response. :-)

Jupiter is expanding the range of foods that you can eat right now... and since it is in your second house, it is expanding what you value, and that could be your hedonistic tendencies. Just speculating.

Do you like food? Does eating serve as a comfort or an addiction, or as a social tool?

You are probably eating more and you just don't know it because there is more food, more parties, more alcohol and you are probably eating without a purpose.

Keep a food diary to see if you're eating more than usual. But, don't worry... winter is a time to gain weight.

The second house is the house of "pay-back" so to speak, where we reap what we sow. So, with Jupiter there, you harvest could be larger, and with the cold of winter, your metabolism being slower, fat is storing itself to keep you warm, and Jupiter is expanding that, in a jolly way.

Just kidding. :-) Or not. Moral of the story... Planets can incline you to do something but Jupiter can not make you do something you do not desire.

I am trying to be light-hearted about the weight thing. It is not worth the worry, but if it worries you... forget the planets and burn more than you are consuming.

It will pass.

My birthday is the day before yours, and I just got off a week's vacation with my family. I'm not gaining weight. The transit and my Sun are in the 8th.
