As promised a while back on the half-sibling thread, here is some info from 'Mapping Your Family Relationships' by Stephanie Jean Clement. On the topic of 'quality of sibling relationships' she suggests looking at the following indicators:
INTIMATE
Ascendant conjunct, trine, sextile the ruler of the 3rd
Ascendant ruler conjunct, trine, sextile 3rd house ruler
Ascendant sextile a planet in 3rd house
Sun conjunct, trine, sextile a planet in 3rd house
CONGENIAL
aspects between Mercury and 3rd house ruler or planets in 3rd house
LOYALTY
Aspects of sun, Jupiter and Saturn to the third house ruler or planets in 3rd
LACK OF INTEREST/CONNECTION
lack of connection to third house from other planets in chart
HOSTILITY
Difficult aspects of Mars, Saturn and Pluto to third house

I have one full-blooded brother.
Saturn is the ruler of my third, trine the Ascendant ruler (Pluto) and the Moon. His 3rd house ruler is the Moon, square Saturn (sitting on the Ascendant), sextile Mercury, sextile Jupiter. We are both Sun Geminis.
We have always got along and remain quite close. He's older, and has always looked out for me.
