From Lisa Dale Miller:
quote:
New Moon in Capricorn
Tuesday, January 8, 2008
3:37am PST, 6:37am EST, 11:37 GMT/UT
17º Capricorn 33’

Let’s begin by celebrating Capricorn’s wonderful qualities: focused, driven, hard-working, responsible, goal-oriented. And here’s a list you might not automatically come up with: loyal, courageous, committed, a huge heart, deep caring for others, and a desire to teach, uplift and inspire? Now you’ve got the totality of Capricorn.

This is the best New Moon for setting goals, initiating projects, and making serious commitments for successful achievement. And how fortunate for us that this year the Moon and Sun in Capricorn are joined by blissful and expansive Jupiter in Capricorn! Retrograde Mars (action) in Gemini slows down and internalizes the normally hyper-diverse energy of this placement, and retrograde Saturn in Virgo lends a sense of careful, considered thoughtfulness. Mercury at 0º Aquarius (visionary mind,) Uranus in Pisces (awakening global peacemaking,) Venus in Sagittarius (the heart of generosity) and Pluto at 29º Sagittarius will call our attention to how our own personal goals have a profound impact upon the evolution and quality of life for our species.

From Jan Spiller:
quote:
NEW MOON REMINDER...
Tuesday, January 8, 6:38 am EST, is the New Moon Power Day in January! Don’t miss this opportunity to make wishes for goals you’d like to reach and experiences you’d like to have.

Because this New Moon is in the sign of Capricorn, it’s a powerful time for new beginnings in reaching goals that are important to you. Things you may have wanted to happen in your life for a long time can begin easily manifesting through using the boost of this powerful and organized New Moon!

For success, your wishes must be handwritten on paper and ten wishes maximum are allowed on each power day. The most potent time is the first 8 hours AFTER the exact time of the New Moon; within the first 48 hours will still work. The potency continues to exist for another twelve hours, but is weaker. For clear success, it’s best to avoid wishing during those hours when the Moon is Void of Course.

Therefore in JANUARY 2008, your most potent times for wishing are: Wednesday, January 9: Clear for wishing after 6:12 am - Thursday, January 10: clear all day and night. These times are in Eastern Standard Time and need to be converted to your local time zone.

JANUARY marks the beginning of a new year and it is a time when many of us reevaluate goals that are important to us in the upcoming year. If you made a list of New Year’s resolutions on January 1, by all means re-copy your list during a power time on January 9th or 10th to give your intentions an extra boost in coming true and manifesting in your life!

Among other things, Capricorn rules the ability to reach goals through awareness of – and using - current opportunities. Because the New Moon of January is in the sign of Capricorn it is an especially auspicious time for wishing to reach goals that are important to you - professional or personal. Improve your reputation or public image, cultivate more maturity, create successes, and accept responsibility in a way that increases personal power.

I'm confused, the void of course charts I have looked over put the Moon in Aquarius after it goes v/c at 6:37 am on the 8th http://www.astroprofile.com/2008moonvoid.htm#January%202008

and Jan Spiller writes

"The most potent time is the first 8 hours AFTER the exact time of the New Moon"

"For clear success, it’s best to avoid wishing during those hours when the Moon is Void of Course."

So wouldn't this be an Aquarian Moon?

Thanks Zala for the moon updates! Here is a tip, probably very well known but nonetheless...! It might as well go with new moon wishes and beginnings...

------------------------------
To Grow Your Hair Faster

Trim ends during the New Moon or during the First Phase of the Moon when the light of the moon is increasing.

The best astrological signs for faster, longer and healthier hair is the New Moon in Taurus, Cancer, Scorpio, Capricorn or Pisces.

When possible start a hair growth program with the New Moon in one of the most beneficial signs. Start by trimming a tiny bit of hair from your ends during the New Moon or First Phase of the Waxing (increasing) Moon.

These dates are also helpful if you are starting a specific hair growth program and want faster results. This would include starting a hair vitamin program or a new hair healthy diet, exercise, scalp or other hair care program designed to get your hair stronger and longer as quickly as possible.

Trim or cut your hair during the New Moon Phase

To Grow Your Hair Thicker & Fuller

Trim ends during the Full Moon especially when the Full Moon is in Taurus, Cancer, Scorpio, Capricorn or Pisces. The Full Moon in Leo is especially beneficial since Leo is the sign of the Lion which is born with a full lush mane.

Trim or cut your hair during the Full Moon Phase

To Grow Your Hair Slower

Trim ends after the Full Moon when the light is decreasing. This is true during the 3rd and 4th quarters of the Waning Moon. This is especially true when the Moon is in Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius or Aquarius, which also slows growth.

To Grow Hair Bushier

Trim or cut your hair with the Moon in Leo

To Treat Your Hair Chemically (Color or Perm)

Have chemical applications (straightening, relaxing, color, perm) applied during the Moon in Aquarius for the absolute best results.

There are other Moon phases that you can use for hair care. However, at this point I only want to cover the very simple process of cutting the hair for faster, thicker or bushier growth. I have thrown in the chemical processing as a general reference point.

Nice to see you back, Neptune's Muse!!

From Yasmin Boland:

"Tuesday January 8 – New Moon in Capricorn

The New Moon takes place today at 10.37pm Sydney time. That's 9.40am
LA time. 11.37am UK time. Click http://www.moonology.com/nmw.htm if
you want to make a New Moon wish but you're not sure how!

This New Moon is an extra important one in some ways as it's the
trigger we need to really get the Jupiter in Capricorn cycle started.
Jupiter in Capricorn means we are all going to find that good luck
comes to us via hard work. The harder we work, the luckier we will
get.

Wherever you have Capricorn or Saturn or both in your chart, you are
in for a gust of celestial support as Jupiter blows his good vibes in
your direction."

I gotta confess, with Mars still retro, I'm not going to be comfortable initiating anything. I mean, I'm kinda excited for this new moon because it's roughly conjunct my natal moon, but still. Mars Rx = no new projects (for me).

Wild ~
quote:
Mars Rx = no new projects (for me).
Why?? Here’s a snippet from astrologer Anne Ortelee:

“So back you go to when Mars entered his shadow, last September 15, right after the Virgo/Pisces eclipses. Dare to dream now. You weren‘t quite ready to take advantage of creating your life because of what was going on back then. There were too many things drawing your attention, distracting you or not clear yet. Now, you are clear-eyed and a bit more ready. Clear-eyed and ready ~ what a great combination! So, forward you go, in a backwards kind of way until the end of the month when Mars goes direct, to clean up, redo, remix, restart, revisit projects or dreams from September. Get it all organized for going forward at the end of the month when Mars turns direct. Vision your big picture and keep it in the back of your mind!!!”

Lots more of Anne (her Weekly Weather Forecasts that come out on Mondays) here: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/015904.html
I think she has fabulous insights and a really empowering attitude

Today I’m home from work with a sick kid. As for “new projects”, what I’m working on is clearing a spot in my basement to locate my business workspace. I started my business several years ago, so it’s not a “new” project. I’m actually REstarting and REvisiting the requirements to get my little business up and going…..

Alma ~

Just because the Moon is VOC doesn’t mean we need to sit on our hands all day ;-))
And if I were you, I would repeat your New Moon Wishes tomorrow..... the way I understand it, the period just before and just after the New Moon is still strong enough or receptive enough (or whatever you want to call it) for your wishes to be expressed.....

The following is from: http://www.khaldea.com/articles/voidofcoursemoon.shtml

“Many users of astrology enthusiasts become overly concerned with “void-of-course”, without realizing potent lunar aspects are often operative during a traditional void-of-course period. So, what is really meant by “void-of-course Moon”? Traditionally, the Moon is void-of-course from its last major aspect before changing signs until its next ingress (change of zodiacal sign). Void-of-course periods last from a few minutes up to two days. But what is a major aspect? Traditionally, the major, or Ptolemaic, aspects are those based on the division of the circle by 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6: the conjunction, opposition, trine, square and sextile. The problem is, there are lots more aspects than just these few . . .”

The following is from: http://www.mysticempowerment.com/voidof.htm

"As the Moon orbits the Earth, it passes through the signs of the zodiac. Every lunar month it travels through all twelve signs, passing through each in more than two, but less than three days. When the Moon gets near the end of each sign, it goes beyond its last major aspect, or connection, with another planet. When this happens, and until it moves into the next sign, the Moon is said to be 'Void-of-Course.' This period is a time when we can really feel unconnected and without direction. It is, therefore, an ideal time for centering ourselves."
"The void-of-course condition may occur for only seconds or minutes of time or it may last for a day or two. It all depends on the locations of the planets and their interactions at the time."
"While the Moon is void-of-course (v/c) it is wise to avoid making important decisions. Judgment at this time is probably faulty. Decisions tend to be unrealistic, subject to factors unknown at the time. New paths are likely to be plagued with false starts, errors and unexpected hassles."
"During Moon void-of-course, actions produce unexpected results. Creative efforts go in unexpected directions. Contracts, promises or new laws bring on difficulties. Purchases prove to be unsatisfactory or the object simply does not fulfill its intention. Routines involving no decisions will usually go well but often require corrections later. Delays and frustrations are common. Moon void-of-course is a time to 'kick back,' let life flow and avoid difficulties."

I was thinking the same to repeat them tomorow ... when is still strong and receptive enough for wishes to be expressed.

Thanks again and all the best to your kid to get well soon!
