i have a question about mars retrograde - i have been reading about its effects and i know that it will turn direct on January 30th, and also that new endeavors shouldn't be started during this time as it is more of a reflection period where you reinforce. I am supposed to meet someone knew the weekend of January 18th and this may sound silly - but because nothing new should be started during the mars retrograde period - would it really affect meeting someone new at this time that much? i am new to transits and have never used them to determine a course of action before so i am wondering how to gauge that. Is this totally ridiculous or is there some merit to what should and shouldn't be done during the retrograde?

It doesn't sound silly. Which house in your chart is mars transiting right now? What aspects is it making to your natal planets? Does mars play a prominent role in your chart? IP: Logged |

i am not sure - i am new to transits.
i don't think that mars has a heavy role in my chart but i am not sure - it is in pisces, 8th house at 24 degrees....here is the link for astro.com where i have pulled up my chart with current transits

ok so i pulled up the transits and looked at them and mars is currently transiting my 10th house, venus is transiting my 4th house (i don't know if that is relevant). my natal mars is in the 8th house, ruler of scorpio - so would that affect this retrograde even more? i apologoize for all the questions - just trying to learn so i could start figuring these things out for myself more or less i did unexpectedly meet someone in December and seemingly things were going well, and it just completely fizzled out which is what i read happens during a mars retrograde. so i am seriously considering meeting this person on Feb. 1 instead of Jan. 18 - my roomate told me this is a crazy thing to do (in a nice way) and i've never looked at transits before so this is the first time i would plan something around them. comments and opinions are welcome and needed!
