I have a friend who has always had a low sex drive. She says she isn't really interested in sex, and sees this as a problem. She doesn't know why, if it's due to repression, or simply because... She has had several boyfriends and has always been in a relationship, and has felt like this with all of them.
What aspects could indicate a low sex drive?
Can you take look at her chart and tell me if you see anything that might explain this? Thanks!!

Hi TripleCancer,

I need to state this up front. Please confirm as much of this information as you possibly can, this takes a lot of time and effort. If you don't want to confirm on this site, you may email me privately, I'll include my email address at the bottom of this entry.

Second, althought I believe there needs to be MUCH more explaination of her personal definition of what "low sex drive" means to her, I'll take a look at the chart, but I must emphasize that this in NO WAY PAINTS THE PICTURE OF WHAT'S GOING ON without actual real discussion with her. These are just considerations. With that being said, I'll move on.

Venus rules her 5th house, which is one of the 2 sexuality houses. Venus also rules her 12th house which is one of the major health center houses. Saturn rules her 8th house, the other major sexuality house.

At first glance I thought the chart suggested that her sex drive would be in overdrive because her Venus is squared by the Mars-Uranus conjunction in Scorpio right from the 5th and 6th house. And since her Venus rules the 5th house, I thought it would automatically make her hypersexual.

But then I considered her Saturn which is located right on her 4th house cusp in Libra and it rules her 8th house which is the other major sexuality house. Saturn symbolism can suggests limits, blocks, dryness, cold, bones, skin, death, etc. Saturn makes a sextile to the Moon, but a sextile is not always strongly considered, at least I won't for the moment.

As I consider all of these measurements, I look to her 4th house which is also ruled by Venus. The 4th house suggests the early childhood home life and one of the parents, most likely the mother. With Saturn conjunct the 4th house cusp it can suggest that her mother ran the household, she wore the pants in the family. There are several measurements in her chart suggesting that her Mother looms large in her life and in her mind.

Her Sun is peregrine, meaning it makes no aspects to any other planets in her chart, therefore, it runs away with the chart from the 4th house, more maternal issues. And since the Sun rules the 3rd house, these issues are dramatically on her mind.

I'm trying to get to that square of Mars-Uranus to Venus. There is much aggression and attack suggested by this measurement in reference to the mother and early home life. When I look at this measurement I ask myself if her mother was abusive to her? Was her mother abused? With Uranus and Mars involved, especially from Scorpio it makes me ask if this abuse was of a sexual nature and did it affect your friends health, especially since Mars and Uranus hug the 6th house health center, and Mars is located in the 6th house. Not only that, Venus rules her 12th house health center as well.

Even if none of what I mentioned about abuse is true, that would be the worst case scenario, I would ask her if she has any of the following health issues that could contribute to discomfort during sexual intimacy. Does she have hemmorhoids, kidney problems, thyroid problems? Is she a person who needs to be taken care of because of certain health problems? Does she often chose partners who need more assistance and support than usual whether they are substance abusers, have big health issues that require assistance anywhere from being blind, being in a wheel chair, things of that nature, etc.?

If that is the case, it can mentally interfere with her idea of what is sexy to her or what turns her on or continues to turn her on sexually. There are SO MANY issues that can contribute to low sex drive or sexual impotence, etc. A cursory look at someone's chart without that person to confirm or deny certain suggestions can't really begin to crack the surface.

I purposely looked for what I thought could be the worse case scenario, because I was directed to look for it, and I could be way off. But just maybe, I might have hit upon something.

Please let me know, that's how we learn here. Thanks in advance.

seems like her sex drive is suppressed, it is somehow connected with Saturn R8 in the 4th, I think.

Thank you Geocosmic for the thorough report.
Well, actually my friend had a harmonic childhood. She has a good relationship with both her parents and I know that her mom is very affectionate and caring. She never mentioned her mom being aggressive. She's not a person who has had difficulties, things have mostly been easy and harmonic for her. Her parents are very catholic and basically was told that one had to be married to have sex. She isn't married and isn't a virgin. Maybe it has to do with that, but I have other friends who were also brought up with this education and don't have a low sex drive. I´m guessing it has a lot to do with the saturn ruling her 8th house.

Hi TripleCancer,

Thanks for your response. This is why it's very important to speak directly to the client who has the question.

For example, do you share every single detail of your sexual experiences with your friends including your your frame of mind, fantasies, everything your boyfriend likes, everything you like? It's extremely personal. Also, it makes tremendous sense what you say about her religion possibly being involved as well.

Another factor could be, does she actually enjoy sex, meaning that she rises to the occasion for her boyfriend just to please him, but she may feel guilty enjoying it.

Even throwing out these questions is kind of futile. Each person's sexuality is so individual, it's really not the kind of thing you can ask through a 2nd party to a third party, but maybe that's what we learn through this.

I agree that it could be Saturn's rulership of her 8th house, however, there are millions of people with Saturn ruling the 8th house, including myself (I actually forgot that until you guys mentioned it LLOOLL) and I wouldn't say that I have a low sex drive. As a matter of fact the rulers of my 5th and 8th conjunct each other stressfully and my sex drive is fine (in my opinion), so even that's not enough explain away her low sex drive.

Also about family, the outside appearance of most families is harmonious. Just because abuse appears in a family doesn't mean there is no love or affection. Interesting exercise.

I wonder if she doesn't really feel very "feminine" ?

I notice she has a "planetary eclipse" of mars and uranus...i.e mars conjucting AND paralleling each other. ( in the geocentric chart...

I also see a saturn , juno planetary eclipse, which makes me wonder if she's being very truthful to you (or anyone else for that matter)..about her supposed "condition"..

BUT, on the other hand, if you look at her heliocentric chart..the one thing that stands out aspect wise, concerning your description of her, is the T-square formed by her mars/neptune conj. opposing her venus, with Jupiter at the apex of the T-square..

Perhaps that alignment might best describe her "religious beliefs" (i.e. jupiter) being in conflict with her sex drive.. (the mars /neptune conj. opposing her venus)...

I would still refer back to the saturn/juno eclipse in the geo chart , to indicate that she might not be completely truthful in regards to the acting out of her "sexual fantasies" (Juno.. in the Magi world anyway..although, perhaps Saturn might be acting as a stifling influence on her fantasies , on second thought)

and,, the T-square in the helio chart involving mars ( as well as the afore mentioned mars/uranus planetary eclipse) still leaves me with impression that she perhaps might be somewhat "masculine", meaning that she might act first, and ask questions later concerning her sexuality, and perhaps has concocted an appropriate outward facade ( again with the saturn/juno) to conceal her true "sexual nature"

On a purely theoretical note.. I wonder if she's a closeted ( or NOT closeted) lesbian!

OR..perhaps more likely.. she's a c#ck gobbling H@.. And she LUVS it.. but, you will never, EVER , be able to prove it!!!

EDIT..
I wonder if the Magi symbolism of Juno being the ruler of fantasies and dreams ( mostly sexual, according to them)..And the symbolism of Saturn ( restricting all that is good, expanding all that is negative..it also rules deception) might be the "signpost" of her condition in this case...

Sorry if I didn't edit the above well enough to make a coherent point

Cheers!!!

Hi Etheric Distortion,

I think you expressed your thoughts very well with clarity. You hit on some excellent points, especially about things like fantasy being incredibly important in terms of sexuality and performance and also about her possibly being "closeted" about particular issues. The thing that actually made me stop trying to analyze this is that we may never get a clear answer because we are getting the question from a party who is removed from the situation and it's hard enough to get truthful answers from a "real patient or client" in the actual flesh, about their own sexuality issues.

But I think you did a great job doing the best you can with what we've got here. And I loved hearing from the Heliocentric Chart point of view. I didn't know that the Magi also considered Juno to be the ruler of fantasies, but I'm not a huge fan of Magi-Astrology, but it would make sense in terms of some type of block.

Anyway, I found your analysis very informative.

Someone confided in me about this when I was in my late teens. He didn't mention astrology, though. I said: if you aren't bothered, is it a problem?

If you are in a relationship with someone with an incompatible sex drive and they are getting frustrated then it could be, but there's no rule book says we all have to be rutting like rabbits.

Alma-Noble,
All I've learned about Heliocentric charts can be found here: www.magiastrology.com

As far as aspects are concerned, it seems as though you can interpret the interplanetary aspects the same in both dimensions ( i.e. geocentric/heliocentric)

The thing that is different about Magi astrology is that they don't publicly profess (as of yet anyway)to using a house system. AND.. in the heliocentric chart, aspects to the Earth/moon complex seem to hold more importance, if only because the aspecting planet, is making a contact to both the Earth AND Moon.. ( kind of a 2 for 1 deal

Kindjali.. I agree with your statement.
My interpretation of your words: Size DOES matter!!!

I truly appreciate your kind words. I'm glad to have given you "food for thought" as they say

triplecancer,
i think the mars-uranus square venus is really the aspect in highlight here, as mentioned before. if the square is too difficult, she may be repressing the mars-uranus conjunction in scorpio, or distancing it from herself. i can relate to this, as i have strong scorpio in my chart and often feel somewhat sexually inhibited because it is afflicted.

in other words, she is either projecting the mars-uranus conjunction onto others, or channeling her sex drive into other habits.. is she self indulgent? if she finds this to be a problem, just let her know that everything in her chart ensures her that she should have a very strong sex drive, if she just learns how to channel it constructively, creatively(in 5th) and healthily (mars in 6th)

Interesting.

I think it's Mars in Scorpio, itself, that's causing the problem.

"I don't even like sex." I once heard from the lips of a Libra Sun, Leo Venus & Scorpio Mars female.

"Mars is in dignity in Scorpio...this sounds a promising placement for passionate sex, and Mars in Scorpio people are indeed passionate. However, when it comes to relationships they are often so intense and sex is often such a traumatic arena that they never actually do it. Their sexual contacts are likely to be intensely emotional. They may have such huge feelings invested in sex that they seize up when they are attracted to someone and all spontaneous responses fail; things just stop flowing.

For a Mars in Scorpio person sex is all or nothing; it is felt as life and death - which can throw them into dreadful crisis and inner turmoil..."

--Love and Sexuality, Kirby & Stubbs

I know someone with similar issues who has Mars in the 8th house.

Hi Hermes28,

I had a Scorpio boyfriend who has Mars in Scorpio also. I suspect he had some of the same issues that you described because the sexual intimacy ended after about 5 months, even though he fell deeply in love with me.

Although he had 3 planets in Scorpio, all in the 6th house, he wasn't your typical Scorpio at all. He claimed that sex didn't matter to him at all and he channeled those energies into other areas such as holistic health (which I think is the 6th house activation). But my main focus is to suggest and hopefully teach people that just because your Sun is in a particular sign, you can't always judge a book by it's cover, or it's Sun sign.

I think its the conj between Mars and Uranus and Uranus in the 5th means shes just not into sex in the traditional way. The uranian influence makes her cool in her sexuality. Plus chiron is opposing them both. But I think also interesting is the NN is squ mars/ura as well and other NN activity (such as opp the chiron).

I have a general question for everyone here. Do you find it frustrating to continually look for what the answer could be here with no REAL confirmation that you have hit on any part of the answer? Without having any confirmation from the actual human being behind this chart?

My answer to the question is yes.

Sure, we all have some ideas of what it could be, but so far the only answers we're receiving is from a person who is a friend of the person and the friend has asked such a personal question that it can't possibly be answered or confirmed without discussion with the actual querent.

It's funny that I keep finding myself drawn to this thread whenever I see it bumped to the top by a new answer and many of us, I feel, are hitting some definite nails on the head. But the only confirmation we've received so far is that the person belonging to this chart has a harmonious relationship with her parents, that they are religious, that she herself is religious and unmarried but not a virgin.

When I look at this chart, I don't see harmony with the parents, I see some serious aggressive and angry energies with the parents.

If a friend of mine were to present you with my chart you would probably see an extremely difficult father and a partially absent mother and signatures of power and depression mixed with some powerful creative energies, but I know that everyone who has ever met my parents, especially friends, have all found my parents to be friendly, pleasant and affectionate people, yet these friends were never around when my father turned into "Darth Vader" with irrational anger or when he was drinking. They were never privvy to my feelings of how I felt when my mother left our home.

My parents even remained good friends as they raised us for our remaining teenage years and no one saw the underlying tensions.

So, I repeat, this is incredibly frustrating to me to be told that this person's early home life was completely harmonious and that just because there was affection from the mother and father that these considerations we've been throwing out are invalid. I don't want to assume that I'm always correct, but I guess I want to learn something from the charts that are presented here. Perhaps I shouldn't have answered the question.

Now, I'm babbling, sorry. Does anyone else share these same frustrations?

you make a good point with your latest post,
But, besides the lack of honest feedback (i.e. from the actual person whose chart we are referring to, I would like to point out that we don't have ANY info at all pertaining to the synastry between her and all of her boyfriends.

Oh, and BTW, Seeing Stars, I think we all get that you have a big c@ck. Congratulations!!! And I hope that you have many succesful sexual encounters AND.. I hope you will inform us all as to the aspects that make you the "porn star" that we all know you are ( i have my own priorly expressed opinions on this, but , please feel free to add )

I'm sure all the women here will want to know, so they can pick and choose their appropriate sex partners in the future.

So now we know the shadow side of Scorpio. The 40-year-old virgin may very well have Mars in Scorpio.

GV, I know what you mean. At the same time, the speculating is kinda fun. No? I wild guess, but this topic seems very personal to you.

Starrym,

Wild, isn't it? Our ascendants oppose each other on the Virgo/Pisces (Karmic) axis. I think we have a past life connection, or something. Sometimes we have similar dreams, other times we're part of the same dream. Spooky.

Get this, she's pregnant, and her due date...wait for it...my birthday. Hhaaa. That's a little too much for this Gemini.

Hi Hermes28,

Yes, it is fun at first. And yes, I think it got personal to me because I then begin to wonder if this person was helped or hindered by the information that is coming forth. I then wonder who "Triplecancer" is to this person. Is "Triplecancer" the sex partner? How is "Triplecancer" using this information. I suppose that I'm now feeling irresponsible or just over sensitive.

But you're right, perhaps I should just lighten up a little.

GV,
I understand what you mean, but even if my friend was the consultant and not me, it's no guarantee she'll open up and "confess" her life isn't what it seems.
When I had my chart done by a professional astrologist, she knew nothing about me and had to "guess" who I was by analysing my chart. When she gave me the feedback she didn't know if I was going to tell her my life story to see if it was all true or not. My point is that most of the time astrologers don't know anything about their clients and just have to say what they see. All I was asking you to do is say what you saw in the chart, even if you don't know my friend or if I "don't know" my friend.
I appreciate all your comments, as well as everyone elses.
I'm not familiar with heliocentric and geocentric charts, nor with juno.

Hi Triplecancer,

I'm glad that you came back to the discussion and I agree with you, that an astrologer really doesn't know everything about you, mainly because they are not supposed to.

When you go to an astrologer, it shouldn't be a performance to prove what they know or can figure out from the chart. It should be a discussion about gaining some insight.

It's kind of funny, when I want to know what the weather is going to be over the next 5 days, I will watch a weather report. We like to pick on the weather man and say that they are wrong all the time. The truth is, they are right most of the time, we just get angry when they get it wrong. With all of the weather reading instruments and technology we've got today, they still can't get the weather report correct 100% of the time.

It's the same with astrology. And that's part of the reason why I started to get irritated at myself for answering or trying to answer your question about your friend. I did mention in one of my posts that I thought the same thing that you mentioned here, that if we actually had your friend to speak to, even SHE might not open up and "confess" her true feelings or issues.

There are so many people who are walking around with sexual dysfunctions and they don't have to, but so many of us have very hidden feelings and shames about sex that we don't go running to our doctors or sex therapists to get help and there has been so much advancement in healing sexual dysfunctions of all kinds. That's another reason why this topic hit me so hard. I started thinking that someone in this situation should probably see a doctor or sex therapist before seeing an astrologer.

But then again, my responsibility as a Professional Astrologer is to look at her chart and see that the significators of her 5th house, 8th house and 11th house are all stressed. But before I see that, I would see that her parental house rulers are also stressed. All of these things would be mentioned to her first which would more than likely, through discussion, bring her to the point where she would say something like: "I don't really enjoy sex" or "I can really do without it." It's not for me to jump out and say, "Your chart says you don't like sex." That is so irresponsible.

Anyway, I could go on and on about this. I suppose it's alright under the auspices of the fact that we are all learning from each other.

I want to leave with one last story, (I'm kinda chatty, huh?). I had a famous client last week who has fallen on some seriously hard times. In the last 4 years he divorced his wife, lost a prominent position at a school and his house has gone into foreclosure. He contacted me just to find out if he was going to be homeless. He has a court date soon and needed to know how it would turn out. But his biggest fear was losing all of his equipment and artwork and mostly being homeless.

When I looked at upcomming transits and Solar Arcs to his chart, I didn't see any geographic relocation for him at all. I was afraid to tell him this in light of the information that he gave me about already having his home go into foreclosure and it looked like all of the court action he had around his home over the last year was very war like and violent energy. But it all looks like it has settled down and he is just left with the horrid memories of these court battles.

When I finally decided to tell him that I didn't see any moving or him losing his home, he was very relieved and began to disclose why he thought that was and it turns out that he has many new supportive friends and service people at his disposal that are helping him now and these people are extremely resourceful.

I had no way of knowing this before he told me. I was mainly afraid to give him good news in light of all the fear he expressed at first, and also, to my own dismay, it was mostly because he was famous.

So, I guess it comes down to trusting myself and what I know, and trusting that I will be properly lead by the symbols that I have studied for so many years.

I don't think a lot of astrologers realize that we are not supposed to paint you with our own brush. Most of the time if we discover something through the chart, it is time to put the chart away and deal with real life solutions, taking actions toward solving our problems or dealing with situations.

Thanks again for your comments as well, Triplecancer and sharing your own experience.
