Ok. Just kidding. But now that I have your attention let me propose an alternative rulership scheme that may make more sense than the current scheme after much thought on this topic. The premise of it is the use of kabbala and the sefirotic tree which goes back thousands of years. On that tree, the energies of neptune, pluto and chiron were posited long before their actual discovery.

I know this will sound very foreign to many but have an open mind. Im curious to hear from people with open minds. Not those who are very emotionally invested in their attachments to the current sign rulerships.

Here goes:

pluto - will - *kesser* - foundational point - most essential point of self - beginning of the beginning - aries

neptune - lens of unity - *daas* - internal perspective on everything - the invisible sefira - awareness of all good and suffering - knowledge of unity in duality - the abyss - pisces

uranus - *chochmah* - flash of intuition - inspiration - something from nothing - creativity - ideas in raw form - "male" intellect - aquarius

chiron - understanding - *binah* - completeness - accumulated wisdom - knowledge - guiding - teaching - being of service to a collective - detailed application of knowledge - coming into one's own - concretization - "female" intellect - capricorn

jupiter - expansion - *chesed* - higher love - tolerance - abundance - saggitarius

saturn - constriction - power - *gevurah* - restraint - fear - discipline - control - determination - scorpio

sun - balance of everything - *tiferet* - truth - fairness - righteousness - libra

mars - action - *netzach* - endurance - virgo

venus - beauty - splendor - *hod* - praise -(lower) romantic love - leo

moon - foundation - *yesod* - sensuality - sexuality - emotional needs and security - cancer and taurus

mercury - final outward manifestation *malchut* - speech - communication - gemini

These rulerships follow the order on the tree which is:

Keter (pluto) aries

Daas (neptune) pisces

Chochmah (uranus) aquarius

Binah (chiron) capricorn

Chesed (jupiter) saggatarius

Gevurah (saturn) scorpio

Tiferet(sun) libra

Netzach (mars) virgo

Hod (venus) leo

Yesod (moon) cancer and taurus

Malchut (mercury) gemini

Thanks, Azalaksh

The assigned rulerships throughout the kabbalistic astrology community were done before the discovery of chiron and its essential place in the planetary scheme. Since saturn came after uranus - it was associated with binah which is understanding. While there is a kind of understanding that emerges from a saturnian experience - chiron is much more obviously the binah archtype. Binah is also associated with the jubilee - the 50th year and the "50 gates of wisdom." Chiron's orbit is 50 years. It also has a much more knowledge and "mental" orientation than saturn. Binah and chochmah represent the fundamental intellectual fucntions. Uranus and chiron both make sense there. The lower 7 sefiras are considered various "emotional modes."

how come Chiron which is one of over 40 centaurs given a rulership but Eris,a kuiper belt object larger than Pluto not given a rulership?

Good question.

We are looking at astrological significance. Chriron and pluto have clearly demonstrated this. The others have not, thus far. Its possible there will be several planetary and minor body associations with each sign two hundred years from now. Also, chiron does seem to have very unique properties that share similarities with gas planets, comets and asteroids. Its coma may extend over 2 million miles. Check out Zane Stein's site for more info on that.

Pluto also has unique properties and its orbit intersects with neptune - suggesting an important relationship between the two. Which is not the case for other kuiper belt objects. In kabbalistic thinking daas (neptune) is a different manifestation of the energy of keter (pluto). Both are profoundly transformational in a way that uranus, chiron and saturn are not, IMO.
