what does it mean when ruler of your seventh is sqaured saturn??? means marry late or trouble finding a partner??? i have a friend with this aspect and she is marrying not for love but for money. she is sad and lonely but she is a single mom and feels she has no choice. I noticed this aspect in her chart. her asc is aires and so her ruler is mars, mars in Taurus and Saturn in Leo...a wide square tho...about 9 degrees...is that too wide to be considered? any thoughts???

If she has Aries Ascendant, then Mars is her chart ruler for it rules the Ascendant and Venus is her 7th house ruler because she has Libra Ascendant.

Where is her Venus placed,aspects?

your first post said ascendant in aries

btw...Venus in Taurus in 7th is very security-oriented relationship placement.

Don't need any Saturn aspects to indicate those type of issues.

Venus in Taurus alone can indicate that.

Hi EricaF,

You are correct that a 9 degree orb for a square is extreme to be considered a square. The only way I would consider that is if I had a look at the entire chart because sometimes when you see something like that and the shoe fits (you find that out through discussion with the client), then you wear it.

But in general, 9 degrees is much too wide.

I use 6 degrees with everything and it seems to work well for me. But some astrologers may use tighter orbs. When I started I kept hearing not to go past 6 degrees, but once in a while a person's personality will strongly resemble an aspect that is a little wider, and I go with it.

I feel like a person's chart is like a tree, sometimes it moves and stretches like a tree in the breeze. Sometimes 7 degrees will tell the story, sometimes not.

Sad and lonely are odd words for someone about to get married. Is this what she said?

As for choice, she could choose to struggle on alone. If she is marrying for money she is getting a deal. If she isn't happy with it, and you are worried about her, maybe asking her if this is what she really wants is a good plan. (I did this once, but for the opposite reason, she was about to marry a drunken layabout. She did, they got divorced, she was very bitter, etc.)

Astrologically you need to look at the whole chart, and ideally a synastry chart to get a picture of what is going on. There could be more to it than she is telling you. Maybe she is quite happy with the situation and she is justifying herself by saying she doesn't have any choice so that she doesn't offend your sense of what marriage is about?

Venus in 7th house can very well mean marriage for financial reasons.
Venus is the natural significator of money.

regarding aspects and how we should consider these, I can say I practice to check whether planets in the aspect go out of the aspect or in the aspect. So, it is important to know what planet is quicker or retrograde etc.
So, it is not the same if orb is 7 deg. separating or if it is not.

Lol...I used to think ALL people with Libra asc would marry the first person who asks them.

She is a single mother with a 7 year old. She has been living alone for about five years. He earns a lot of money. She is not attracted to him at all. They are getting married in May.
I also noticed her chiron in the 7th. Pain in relationships???

Yes, ErickaF, but when aspects (conjunction) goes through two signs I am not sure how it influences. the other more clearer example
Someone's Venus 15deg Sag. is stronger conjunction with the other person Jupiter at 22deg Sag then if that person has Jupiter at 8deg Sag.
When both planets are slow, that effect is not so strong.
In any case we look at the planet that is quicker and where it will be few hours or days ahaed in aspect with the other planet. Espec. Moon, Mercury, Venus...Sun if it will be close, then the aspect is stronger...

But if Venus is retrograde, then the other conjunction is perhaeps even stronger. I am sorry I am not sure about that, just thoghts...
