I wondered if any of you had noticed patterns in composites charts with the people you are attracted to, I for example always seem to have a conjunction of Sun/Mercury, not what you'd call a romantic aspect but it crops up far to frequently, more than any other aspect, any one noticed any patterns?

I've noticed a lot of composites that have moon/saturn and venus/uranus aspects.

I have both of these natally as well.

Hey Juno. Well, I did notice that same thing with the sun-mercury aspects in the composites of me and my close friends..or even just people I've been attracted to!

However, I went and tried mix and matching the birthdates in my astrodata of people who do not even know each other, and there still was that sun mercury aspect...or at least the sun and the mercury were PRETTY close to each other (maybe not enough to make an ASPECT sometimes..but they were quite near the proximity of the other).

Now, I SUSPECT that the reason for this is that I have read that the Sun and Mercury never travel too far away from the other. I know that a composite does not show the actual position of the planet, but rather the position where the energy between the same planet in one chart and the one in the other meet halfway, BUT still, this fact should play a role, right?

Have you ever heard that your mercury can only be in the sign of your sun or in the sign coming right after it? For exmaple, A Gemini Sun chart can only have mercury in either Gemini or Cancer..but no other sign. A Cancer sun person, can only have their mercury in Cancer, or in Leo. I'm not positive about this, but it's what I remember reading in CafeAstrology.com about the sign your mercury is in. Perhaps I will look at it later.

Maybe THAT is the reasoning behind your discovery? Let me know what you think!

WOW! (?)

I just checked composites for me+mom, dad, sister, brother, several best friends, an ex boyfriend, and the current love interest and they ALL have very close to exact SUN-MERCURY conjunctions..EXCEPT for me+dad.. My dad and I can communicate but there is something off or weird about it. We definitely do not communicate the way I do with the others.

Also - DainBramaged, my Mercury is in Sag. and my Sun is in Cap...

That's correct. Sun conjunct Mercury & Sun conjunct Venus are some of the most common aspects found in a composite chart (for the aforementioned reason), and one shouldn't really put too much emphasis on them.

Yes, that sounds about right. Except the mercury-sun conjunction comes up WAY far more often than sun-venus aspects. Could you say the reason for that? If you don't know..that's ok, too.

Anyway, I thought that the sen-venus aspects in the composite chart were supposed to indicate "a relationship based on lve...and that even if you annoy each other sometimes, you still love each other in the end"

So was it all--a lie? I mean, is it just not as important as the description for astro-Clik Partner in astro.com makes it seem?

Take care.

I really don't know what other aspect patterns I've found in my composites....hmm I will have to check! (later)

I've noticed a lot of conjunctions with the ASC-DSC axis. The MC-IC too, but not as often.

Also, my composites frequently have an aspect pattern: grand trine, kite, t-square, etc. I have a t-square with my SO, but if I include Juno, it becomes a grand cross. Gulp. (Edit: Did a little more research. The t-square is, by far, my favorite composite pattern apparently. That one came up the most. Some charts even had two of them.)

Probably the most common pattern is stelliums. I just checked several of the composites with the people closest to me, and all of them had at least a 3-planet stellium or several planets in one house (but not all conjunct).

I've noticed the personal planets conjunct AS/Ds too, my merc is 22 degrees away from my sun, so the conjunctions for me aren't as normal as say people with merc/sun conjunctions in natal, and I never seem to have Venus/Sun conjunctions in composites.
