My name is Darrell and I am 25-years old. I have been reading astrology for almost two years now and I have only just managed to begin to understand how my natal chart resonates with my being. Despite being a Libra, I am regarded by many as a loner. I haven’t even had any intimate relationships with women. Relationships terrify me for some particular reason, and I believe this is partly because I was intensely smothered by my mother when I was a child. Therefore, I fear the world at large. Furthermore, my family history is littered with dark secrets and episodes of domestic abuse. It’s not that I project my personal issues onto other people and then avoid them for it; it’s just that I genuinely fear the company of other people on an intimate level (perhaps my Chiron in the seventh house opposite Scorpio Moon is an offender in all this). I’ve been like this since I was a child. Nevertheless, I have found great pleasure over the years in writing horror stories. My dream has always been to become a horror writer. However, my ambitions and dreams took a setback when I was 15-years old after I was sexually molested in a public toilet. My friends found out about it shortly afterwards and then proceeded to bully me for being a homosexual, even though I am not one. An intense fear of public places has resulted in me isolating myself from other people. For many years, I have walked around like a soulless carcass with no ambition and no confidence. Nevertheless, psychologists and a very limited number of friends have given me precious support during the past two years. Astrology books concerning twelfth house planetary placements and personal planets aspecting Pluto and Saturn have been a great help (I have always been interested in the occult, so I thought astrology would be the next logical step). My social life has improved substantially and my confidence greatly enhanced; yet I still feel the need to crawl back into the shadows to implement my dream into becoming a horror writer. This is something I have always wanted to do. I am considering enrolling for a writing course to help me along the way. I need to start living life to the full again, but I suppose I still carry nerves in taking this big step. I guess I fear that I might be dragged back into Hades if I were to make any signs of progress. Maybe I fear success. Anyway, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me whether there are any aspects in my natal chart which indicates horror-writing ability. I am guessing that Gemini ruling the eighth house is one aspect. I know I share the same sun and moon sign with Mario Puzzo, writer of The Godfather. However, I am worried that Capricorn in the third house might decelerate my drive. In addition, are there any aspects in my chart which suggest that I can overcome my fear of intimate relationships and hopefully have the experience of being in one some day? Reading descriptions of twelfth house planets and Chiron in the seventh house is so depressing. Please have a look and let me know. I have no idea how to post birth charts so here are my birth details: Birthday - 19th October 1982 Hour - 9:25AM Country - Great Britain Birth Town - Nuneaton (Koch House System) All the best!

Hi Pryceman/DarrellI can recommend these guys: http://www.writersbureau.com/ Distance learning, no standing up reading your stuff out to people. I doubt that would be your cuppa, and I can tell you it's certainly not mine! It will build your confidence, and you can get selling your work whilst you are learning.
How odd - we have rising signs at the same degree of Scorpio.

to LL, Darrell!!Your articulate-ness is really refreshing here I wouldn't necessarily blame Chiron/7th and Moon/1st for your current mood/way of being..... I'd like to take a look at your chart's Saturn contacts and transits, but have to go out for awhile. Be well, ~ Zala Sun: Asc: Moon: IP: Logged |

Hi Darrell,Yes, you can overcome your fear of relationships. Your conjunction of Sun-Saturn-Pluto in Libra is the fear of relationships and also the solution. You may always be in a process of healing your past. That conjunction suggests that you have had incredibly pressure on your core energies of life, issues of loss and hard work, possibly a father who was somewhat tyrannical if your father was in your life. As I'm sure you read all the horror of the 12th house (I'm a 12th house Sun also) you know that we tend to isolate, but we're the only ones who can push ourselves out of that. Stop reading about the 12th house, those explainations are not empowering and you have a tremendous amount of power in your 12th house. I would like to read a 12th house book by YOU when you reach the age of 40. I bet you'll have a fantastic perspective on it that we've never heard before. Start thinking of Saturn as AMBITION. Yes, there are all kinds of limiting explainations for Saturn, but Saturn is a teacher, Saturn is boundaries, but Saturn is also structure, rules, discipline, so when you think of your writing don't think of it as stopping, think of your writing as hard working, fascilitating, administrating your ideas. I don't want to make you think that you might not stop in your tracks from time to time, but that will pass. I have Mercury-Saturn conjunction and it's good for writing but sometimes I have to stop, sometimes journal writing depresses me instead of inspiring me, but I've learned when to stop and fuel myself with something positive before I continue. Sometimes my communication stops, my thinking slows down, etc. But I've learned to understand it as my process and to respect it. Saturn is respect and trust as well. That's some of my insight. I concur with Geocosmic Valentine: Saturn is your friend. Saturn, ruler of Capricorn, is form, structure, and business ability, all useful for a professional writer. So don't think its presence on the cusp of the 3rd house is necessarily a hindrance. It helps put the ideas in your head into solid form - and sell them. I notice you have Venus and Saturn Conjunct on your chart - artistry and structure together. Also I see you have Neptune and Mars Conjunct - imagination and drive. Neptune's house is the 12th, realm of dreams and fantasy. Neptune is associated with film, if you think Sci-Fi channel you know where I am headed with that thought. It's not my personal favourite genre, but I get inflicted with it in this house!

Thanks for the insight, guys. Very much appreciated!Geocosmic Valentine said, “Yes, you can overcome your fear of relationships. That conjunction suggests that you have had incredibly pressure on your core energies of life, issues of loss and hard work, possibly a father who was somewhat tyrannical if your father was in your life.” I can very much relate to this. My father was - for the most part - very withdrawn and rather quiet when I was a child, but he did have a terrifying temper when put under pressure. My mother, on the other hand, was extremely possessive and occasionally tyrannical. She was Demeter in the flesh, but at least she was very protective. In addition, I enjoyed your perspective on the planet Saturn. I just find it incredibly intriguing that I have five planets in Libra and yet I cannot relate to several of the characteristics associated with Libra. I didn’t realise that aspects played such an important part in modifying planetary signs. This was one of the reasons why I shunned astrology for many years because of the fact that I could not relate to every characteristic of a Libra. Blue Moon said, “Also I see you have Neptune and Mars Conjunct - imagination and drive. Neptune's house is the 12th, realm of dreams and fantasy. My Mars/Neptune conjunction lurks in the second house of money and possessions, so maybe I could use my imagination and drive for monetary purposes. I’m not exactly keen on science fiction myself, although I do enjoy the cosmic horror of HP Lovecraft.

What are you waiting for Libra? For some big cosmic finger to point unerringly at your destiny? Make it happen. Write. Open up more. Take risks. Look at it this way: you can go on hiding behind whats happened to you, letting it all walk all over your life, or you can pick yourself up and put it firmly behind you, setting your sights on something better (Fortunaetly for you, you know what that is. I know you can do it. Perhaps this book will help you: http://www.errantdreams.com/reviews/2008/01/04/the-writer-behind-the-words-dara-girard/ Always rememeber: there is no such thing as an astrological effect which denies marriage/love/money [fill in the blank]. There are effects which make it easier and harder to build and maintain certain things, but none that have the power to deny the power of your true will. It is you yourself who holds you back. Now pick up that pen, and write about what scares you. IP: Logged |

Hi LalaLinda,Nope, haven't posted my chart. Won't do it (shaking my head no back and forth with arms crossed like a little kid). Can't make me do it. Not gonna happen. I stay true to my 12th house need for privacy in that regard. I learned my lesson two years ago when I posted my chart on a private astrological network of professional astrologers that I trusted. It was to ask a specific question and only to be used for that question, and one of those trusted astrologers chose to analyze my chart without my permission. But thanks for your interest. Not to be hard on Libra, but Im Scorpio and we feel a kind of sincere sympathy and a deep love for them, but we dont want to coddle them, they are good at doing that for themselves. We want to see them shine out their innate Beauty. Another point came to mind, re: the 12th house - and thank Goddess you guys arent coming from the "Curse of the 12th House" school of thinking! - your description of not actually recognising your own sign in yourself fits like a snug glove on a windy day. Its been my experience that planets in the 12th house represent aspects of ourself we have great difficulty identifying with. It is a kind of blind spot - people dont generally see themselves as embodying those planets principles. If thats your Sun sign (unles the Sun is conjunct the ascendant), you will have great difficulty identifying with things written about your Sun sign. In fact you will actually refuse to believe in some of them. The rep of the 12th house for being a place of curses is mostly down to the fact that such people tend to think they are cursed or being punished for something they did in a past life. But its only something they dont understand about themselves. So planets in the 12th set up situations which physically and emotionally isolate us (hospitals, retreats, prisons, places far from the madding crowd) so that we are forced to introspect into ourselves and discover the hidden potential that these hidden planets offer. The important bit: In every cases where I have given the following advice to people with 12th house stelliums, and they have taken it, life has suddenly changed for the better. Heres the tip: get really deep into some kind of meditation and spiriutal self liberation. By consciously commiting to work with your 12th house materia, you negate the need for those planets to engineer your attention and perception of them. And keep a dream journal. Try to figure out if any 12th house planets are dressing themselves up archetypally in your sleeping hours, and what they are trying to tell you about yourself. Lovecraft did it, and he actually literally dreamed up Nyarlathotep! "Don't fail to see Nyarlathotep if he comes to Providence. He is horrible — horrible beyond anything you can imagine — but wonderful. He haunts one for hours afterward. I am still shuddering at what he showed." - Lovecraft in a letter after his dream. Thanks for the insight dj. I've been thinking about keeping a dream journal for quite some time now but I keep forgetting about it. What you posted is the precise reason why like reading Lovecraft! I've often had terrifying dreams myself, especially ones about death when I was a child.Wild Sheep, thanks for the recommendation! libraschoice7, best wishes to you, too! IP: Logged |

Pryceman, you have been given some wonderful advice here. With scorpio moon in the 1st house, and Saturn and Pluto conjunct sun in the 12th house, you're a natural for horror genre, whether as a writer or as an actor or filmmaker in the genre. IP: Logged |
