Does anyone know what afflicted Saturn means?
I have come across many times, this phrase, which does not have an explanation of aspects.

I always had the impression that Saturn afflicts, and is not afflicted.. afterall, what could afflict a heavyweight such as Saturn? Maybe Mars?

Do conjunctions to Saturn count as affliction? especially the luminaries?
anyone with insights would be great!

Hi Atlenta,

Yes, Saturn can be afflicted, although I don't like to use that word. I like to use the word "stressed" or "challenged" or to say that Saturn is in hard aspect with another planet. For example, I have a Mercury-Saturn conjunction and Moon square Saturn. So my Saturn is stressed by Mercury and the Moon or it is stressed by those planets, but really I like to think of Mercury and Moon calling my Saturn into action or using Saturn as a tool. Saturn helps me to organize my thinking, my writing, it helps me to structure my home, to organize my nurturing skills, to administrate my business. It's not easy but the older I get the more I think of Saturn as a hammer, a ruler, an administrator, and expert in business, etc.

I really dislike the word "afflicted", it leaves you feeling doomed when in truth you are not. It's sort of like having an extra helping of Saturn. Saturn's not a sweet heart but you'll be happy to have Saturn around when the big bad wolf comes around and starts trying to blow your house down. Saturn is the brick house in the story of "The Three Pigs". It wasn't easy to build that house over night like a wooden house or the straw house, but once that brick house is up, you'll be mighty happy about it.

So that means that I have a afflicted Saturn. Ok.
Should I kill myself now, or should I wait for two more years, when transiting Saturn will exalt and meet my natal Saturn (who in my 7th house, in Libra, conjunction Pluto, squaring Moon in 5th,sextile Sun, Neptune, Mercuries - the ruler of my 7th house in Sag...). Or maybe I'll wait a year or so when transiting Saturn will walk over my Mars in Virgo, 7th.
I think I'm starting to learn my lessons. And I need help.
