I'm just wondering why I am so slow to anger? I have mars in aquarius, and moon in leo. It makes it so people think they can take advantage of me, and as well it's hard to relate to others because I assume they're not going to get mad either. It's a difficult placement having moon opposite mars. I don't know what to do! I haven't gotten into my first physical fight yet either. The only person I've gotten that mad at is my mother! Isn't mars in aquarius's expression/manifestation of anger is to handle it in an intellectual way- with words, etc? Yet I have moon in Leo. It's an odd placement, especially when people get mad at things I'd never get mad over.

1. How old are you?
2. Are you male?
3. Do you find it odd that you haven't yet been in a physical fight? (I don't.. so just asking)

And what's going on with Aries in your chart? Any planets in Aries? What house cusp do you have in Aries?

There isn't anything wrong with being slow to anger. Try to be assertive (and say no) when the situation calls for it. Assertiveness isn't the same as anger, but it fixes the problem you have when it comes to others taking advantage.

Hey, I think thats a great placement to have, and admirable that you're slow to anger! My guy has cancer moon, cappy mars, and he is the same way. He isn't highly reactive, which works bec I'm the exact opposite. He's never been in a physical fight either. I think the placement makes you wonderfully gentle, diplomatic, and levelheaded when things get heated. I think that's more respectable than someone who makes a fool of themselves and throws punches.

I have Mars in Aquarius, and for some reason it's really difficult to feel anger. I think I can express it okay because I have mars in Leo. The thing that sucks is that most things that would make most people angry, don't make me angry... I have moon opposed mars and I think that's why. I haven't gotten into a physical fight. Isn't it true that people with this placement handle anger in an intellectual way, to reason, and use logic? People seem to think it's okay to take advantage of this.

I keep thinking about this one. I'd love to see the rest of the chart to see what is going on.

Do you find it hard to relate to other people's emotions in general, or just when they get wound up over things that don't matter?

It could be that you are a placid, easy-going type of person who will only lose their temper once or twice in a lifetime. I've got a friend like that. I don't know if he feels people tried to take advantage of his nature, I'd guess yes, as I know he has pulled the plug on a couple of people who pushed their luck too far.

Mars opposite Moon is an aspect that is forcing a balance between energy and the emotions.

Aquarius and Leo, in Terry's Lambs book "born to be together" is described as a polarity where we ask if we are being fair and if we can let people see who we really are? It is the balance of the need to be unique with the need to be part of a group.

So you have humanitarian Aquarius in assertive Mars, standing up for what he thinks is right, opposing the emotional instincts of the Moon in Leo, where there is an emotional need to be loyal, and maybe to be part of a group.

The Opposition is a see-saw that needs balancing. Maybe it is leaning towards the Moon more than Mars right now, and needs adjusting. It could be this is about standing up for what you believe, instead of going with the flow for the sake of group interests. I don't know - it's one aspect out of a whole chart - it's hard to say!

Does any of the following help any? The bit about other people feeling the need to needle you was interesting, in light of you saying they seem to think it is O.K to use you as a doormat.

Something you might find interesting:
http://www.achernar.btinternet.co.uk/moonaspects.html

Your unconscious emotional approach to the world is at odds with your more con-
scious desire to act on the basis of your feelings. This is likely to lead
to arguments, for one of two reasons. First you may identify with your own
self-assertion, but find that your methods upset other people, and you then
come across even more forcibly. Secondly you may find that other people just
won't leave you alone emotionally; they appear to provoke you constantly.
The problem really lies in the way you perceive things rather than in other
people. You need to work on yourself to discover what you really need and
how to go about getting it in a more appropriately organised way, then you
can use your considerable emotional energies to better purpose.

This is exactly what I am going through. I don't know how to handle people's aggression/pain/emotions, etc. When people talk alot it bothers me, it's like they aggravate me, wont leave me alone. I don't know how to give them the emotional response they need. I feel awful, because that's not what they mean to do! I have little patience. I just listen, but zone out. I'm more of a loner than one who works/fits into a group, and very peace loving.

Blue moon.

do you think having the moon and mars in opposite signs would count? or do they have to be in opposition aspect to one another.

Great question, you've got me thinking hard.

It's an opposing influence you might feel but not as strongly as if it was an opposition within orb. In a borrowed analogy, I'd say it is the difference standing in a small room with a logfire and sitting next to the fireplace.

BUT it could be that the chart has progressions that are tuning this into a current aspect, maybe one that has long term effect.

Here's something from my chart that can serve as an example, it's a good one as it shows the effect of retrograde Mars and is to do with temper -> at the time of birth my Mercury is 7* 13' from Mars. That's wide as an aspect, but I really identify with it. Why? Just over a month after I was born Mars went retrograde. As a consequence, by progression, it is currently 1' from my natal Mercury. It will be 15 years before it moves over 1* away from natal Mercury. That's a long-term influence. I will be collecting my pension by the time Mars moves back to its natal position.

Alternatively it could be that the progressed chart is making this aspect exact now, and it will move out of orb in due course, making it a more passing influence.

If the opposition resonates with you, then maybe check out your progressed chart on Astro.com and see if it applies. Maybe it has already hit and it sounds like you when you were younger, but the resonance of it you still feel.

I have the same opposition. Moon in Leo opposite Mars in Aquarius.

I wouldn't say I'm "slow" to anger at all. I have a fiery and violent temper. I think I control it well, though. It takes a lot to push me to the point where I explode, but that doesn't mean I'm "slow to anger" that just means that I handle it well. I have very small and frequent passionate bursts of "annoyance". Heated moments, as I call them. My Moon/Mars is exact... '14 degree orb. It's part of a T square with Pluto which is probably where the control/suppression comes from.

Your chart is exactly like mine Xhibitionism. Our Ascendants oppose each other by 1 degree. When's your bday? Mine's 10/26/86

When I first read your post I thought you were likely to have Mars 9H, and you do.
Secondly, 6H placements (Libra 29+ cusp = Air) of Sun, Mercury, Venus. In Fixed Water
6H is part of our "day to day" our "everyday" if you will. With Mercury there in the natural House of Virgo you are likely to be conversant with your darker energies. This includes anger. If utilized and processed daily- with your ego [Sun] desires [Venus] communication [Mercury]- your pressure valve of stored resentments that can lead to outbursts is in constant use. You probably do not sandbag your emotions. Your mutable Air ASC working in tandem with a Mars in brainy fixed Air Aqua, in Jupiter's House, processes all of this with the Virgo style stemming from the 6H Sun, Mercury, Venus. The moon mars opp. has Moon [emotions] in the communication [3rd House] internalizing yes- but communicating, Hope I didn't loose anyone....I almost lost myself there... there is more that backs up your process...just My 2 centavos
bottom line? Rationalization of anger-you said it yourself intellectually

Have noticed in my family that Mars in Cancer/4th have anger issues...
Two members in my family who have this are the only ones who shout and scream in the household from a very young age.

As for your question, I have Mars in Aquarius too, but I have Mars square Pluto and plenty of other nasty squares with Mars.
I tend not to get angry about petty things but do something to hurt me emotionally and I'll definitely show I'm angered.
Look at any aspects from Mars to your Moon as well as your Moon sign.
