** Your Starcast for February 18 to March 18 **

Get ready for a dynamic, event-filled month! First, it's time to reach for the stars on February 18 as the Sun enters dream-seeking Pisces. Two days later, a lunar eclipse in Virgo amps up your emotional life. Virgo is a health sign, so use this eclipse to get a better handle on your self-care program. You'll be helped in your self-assessment when the Sun opposes Saturn on the 24th and it's time for a reality check. Reach out to others on the 26th when Mercury and Venus, the planets of communication and relating, come together in a sweet conjunction in friendship-based Aquarius. Then get ready for Mars' re-entrance into sensitive Cancer on March 4 when you'll return to family, home and security issues that have been around since last September. This is followed by the third opposition (this aspect has occurred three times because of Mars' recent retrograde) between action-oriented Mars and powerful Pluto on March 6, an aspect that is all about power. Then on the 7th, a new Moon in Pisces next to maverick Uranus shakes things up just to make sure you are awake! Venus' entrance into romantic Pisces on March 12 brings love into the picture. Mercury enters the same sign on March 14, and your mind turns to daydreaming. You'll want to do anything but work, yet make sure to do your homework because taskmaster Saturn opposes Mercury on March 17.

February 18: Mercury turns direct

When Mercury turned retrograde last January 28, it was important to review your plans for the future rather than implementing them. Mercury retrograde periods are great for taking care of unfinished businesses, conversations and paperwork -- as well as cleaning out your closets, drawers and files. Now it is time to move forward with all of those brilliant ideas, so send those emails and make those phone calls!

February 18: Sun enters Pisces

Albert Einstein was a Pisces, as were poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Beatles singer/songwriter George Harrison. Imaginative and sensitive, this is the sign of the artist and the idealist. Each year as the Sun transits this feeling-oriented water sign, it is time to tap into your own muse. Write in your journal, go out and dance, or create an incredible new recipe. Whatever you do, open up your creativity and tune in to the wonders of the universe. Who knows -- you may just be the next Einstein!

February 20: Virgo Lunar Eclipse

Whereas the solar eclipse earlier this month occurred at the north node (the future), this Virgo lunar eclipse is at the south node, reminding you of your past. Lunar eclipses are extra intense full Moons -- already a time known for heightened emotions. Since Virgo is the sign of work, health and service, these themes represent this period. As you look at the past, ask yourself what you can do to take better care of yourself and make your life more secure. Saturn's placement next to the Moon highlights a theme of self-sufficiency. So, before you reach out to others, see what you can do to help yourself first.

This full Moon will most affect those born August 22-26, November 21-25, February 19-23 and May 19-23.

February 24: Sun opposite Saturn

It's time to step back and take a reality check. Carefully assess exactly what it is that you're building into your life. Some of your situations may be too limiting for you. Is someone or something holding you back? At the same time, other parts of your life will feel solid. This opposition marks the midpoint of the Saturn retrograde period -- a turning point for everyone. With the Pisces Sun opposing hardworking Saturn in Virgo, make sure you offer to help others, but also help yourself. Life is all about balance -- especially during an opposition!

February 26: Mercury conjuncts Venus

As communication planet Mercury in friendship-based Aquarius comes together with lovely Venus in Aquarius, you seek out people who share your values. This will provide a fabulous climate for interesting, thought-provoking conversations. This is a perfect day to attend a lecture, throw a party or join a matchmaking service. It's not everyday that the planet of love matches up with the cerebral planet!

March 4: Mars enters Cancer

Finally! Mars re-enters Cancer where Mars transited and turned retrograde last November. You've spent a lot of time in this sign that rules home, family and security. Hopefully you've worked through some of the tasks and family issues that required your attention. It wasn't necessarily easy, so give yourself a pat on the back as you move forward with a renewed sense of purpose.

March 7: Mars opposite Pluto

Mars and Pluto oppose each other for the third time in this series. However, while the last two oppositions were in debate-oriented Gemini and Sagittarius, this final opposition takes place in the cardinal signs Cancer and Capricorn. Action is key now, but this aspect indicates that somebody has an opposite way of getting what they want and won't be shy about telling you! Significant power struggles are possible now. Figure out what you can let go of -- and what's worth fighting for -- so you don't become bogged down in something you'll regret.

March 7: New Moon in Pisces
The new Moon marks a new lunar phase and a fresh beginning in sensitive Pisces, a sign that highlights the importance of your spiritual life. Whether you take a quiet walk in the park, listen to beautiful music or simply set aside time to be more contemplative, make a point to set aside time this month to get in tune with your inner nature. Uranus conjuncts this new Moon, giving you a fresh perspective that inspires important changes. Surprises and sudden events are also a well-known feature of this conjunction. So, be alert!

This new Moon will most affect those born March 5-9, June 6-10, September 8-12 and December 7-11.

March 12: Venus enters Pisces

When the relationship planet Venus enters spiritual Pisces, you're sure to be in the mood to connect with others on a deep soul level. This can be a very romantic time. No involved conversations are needed now -- it's what you feel that counts. Express yourself in a poem, or send a card to that special person in your life. What a great transit to enjoy a stroll on the beach, take a bubble bath in candlelight, or curl up on the couch and watch your favorite movie.

March 14: Mars sextile Saturn

This is such a productive aspect! When Mars, the planet of action, forms an opportunity aspect with serious Saturn, you have everything you need to get your projects moving. People and events help to make whatever you're working on more solid and viable. Look for those in authority positions to be especially helpful.

March 14: Mercury enters Pisces

Can daydreaming be helpful to you? Of course! If we didn't all take some time to turn down the noise and be inspired, we'd never imagine new ideas and paths. So, listen to some beautiful music, take a walk in the park or just sit and gaze at nothing. You'll be amazed at how refreshed you feel afterward!

March 17: Mercury opposite Saturn

You have the right to remain silent! Knowing when to open your mouth and when to think long and hard before you do is the lesson of this opposition. Keep in mind that not everybody is going to agree with you right now. Furthermore, they may even grill you on your ideas. Yet, just like any natural cycle, this transit marks an essential time for you to clarify for yourself what's important.

Enjoy the Sun's transit in Pisces!

Cosmic Calendar, Monday February 18th ~

This may turn into a rather strange and confusing day for many people. First of all, the lunar orb is still meandering through watery Cancer and in a void-of-course placement until 10:52AM PST. At this time, the Moon shifts into fiery, warmhearted and courageous Leo for the next 2+ days. Trying to wield too much personal power in the hours leading up to the Moon change is likely to boomerang with nasty results. On the other hand, you can be more fun-loving and exuberant across the board once the Moon is safely in Leo territory. See the world with the eyes of an innocent child and with a sense of wonder for a change of pace. Tap into your creative artistic talents. A major event is Mercury ceasing its retrograde motion, making a station, and beginning over three months of forward motion at 9 degrees of Aquarius (6:58PM PST). [Mercury remains direct until May 26 when it will once again reverse direction at 22 degrees of Gemini.] All Mercury themes - communication and transportation, information exchange, words and language, the five senses, business and trade, classes and education, literary and journalistic efforts, trickery, sleight of hand and theft - are highlighted now and over the next few days. It is generally more helpful - regarding the above areas of life - that Mercury is turning forward. The evening hours are very potent since Vesta makes a supportive, 60-degree link to Pluto (9:28PM PST) while the Sun enters Pisces (10:51PM PST) and the Sun parallels Juno (10:58PM PST). The overall essence of these sky patterns is that you want to put a lot of energy into exploring your investment options for the near future. In addition, love ties need deeper understanding due to the Sun-Juno linkage and some surprises surfacing from tomorrow morning's Venus-Uranus encounter.

Cosmic Calendar, Tuesday February 19th ~

Today and tomorrow have blockbuster status for many reasons. Certainly, Mercury shifting into forward motion is a positive boost for a large percentage of earthlings looking to put recent communication mistakes behind them and to aim for more fulfilling success on the business front. However, a Venus-Uranus 45-degree connection (11:19AM PST) may equate with some shocks and surprises in love, financial and social matters. Keep an even temperament to avoid losing your cool over a trifle. Helping you stay productive and prolific in your main areas of expertise is a Ceres-Uranus 60-degree rapport (12:25PM PST). The Moon's transit through Leo reminds you to remain child-like and heart-centered in your approach to primary partnerships. Your research skills and investigative work can bear fruit because the Sun sextiles Pluto (2:47PM PST) via a 60-degree association while the Sun also forms a contra-parallel formation with Saturn (5:21PM PST). When the solar orb simultaneously makes contact with Pluto and Saturn, the cosmos is asking you to ferret out secrets, explore mysteries, and get to the root of long-standing dilemmas. Don't allow old worries, self-doubts and fears to overwhelm your psyche right now. Start preparing for a very busy and potentially tumultuous day on Wednesday when the asteroid Vesta (sisterhood; safety and security; home and hearth; insurance and investment) is extremely prominent and a Full Moon/Total Lunar Eclipse brings in enlightening realizations during much of tomorrow evening. You may want to get a jump on all these up-and-coming celestial events through deep meditation, tai chi, affirmations or yoga session.

Weekly Weather February 18, 2008
By Anne Ortelee

The eclipses are here! The eclipses are here!

We can expect another powerful and moving week here on Planet Earth as the heavens above have quite a bit going on. Pay attention. Try NOT to react emotionally. Absorb and watch those around you, especially if THEY ARE EMOTIONAL. Remember to breathe. There isn’t much you can do about the emotional energy flying around except know that it will pass and move into or onto other forms once it culminates after Wednesday‘s full moon. The lunar eclipse energy is a releasing and ending energy as the Virgo Moon is on the south node and near to Saturn. It is volatile, mutable, earth and water eclipse energy as the lunation takes place between Pisces Sun and Virgo Moon.

The eclipse full moon is calling up the story from last September when you got all irritated about something and ALMOST let them have it. Instead you took another action (probably a passive aggressive action but an action nonetheless and it made you feel a bit better) OR you bit your tongue, swallowed your words and feelings. Or, perhaps a new story began in September which is only now being emotionally revealed and processed by the eclipse energy. The emotional reveal under the eclipse isn’t nice or even particularly pretty. However IT IS PART and PARCEL of the story of the moment. Know that this time is a VERY emotional, tender and sensitive transition between two realities ~ Leo and Virgo. Our Leo parts want to be LOVED, ADORED, and PRAISED as a fabulous and beloved child of the Universe. Right now our Virgo parts rule so we are all Cinderella. We have to scoop the cat litter, do the dinner dishes, make our bed and make sure our homework is neatly printed in our very best handwriting. Moving from Fire energy to Earth energy is never easy. Moving from Leo energy to Virgo energy is never easy either.

We are at the emotionally sensitive spot or middle point between September 17~18 and the upcoming April 17~18 and May 17~18 moments when Saturn gets to the point of the lunation and last fall’s Saturn ingress. During the April and May passes of Saturn over the eclipse point, Saturn will reactivate the September and February stories for Chapters 3 and 4. The purpose for the whole business or story will be revealed then. Yes, you DO have to wait. You simply do not have enough information to make a firm or final decision right now. You have to wait until Saturn is ready to tell you why you are in the middle of this particular story right now.

You might find yourself or others you know fluctuating between “I-am-feeling-sorry-for-my-self-especially-after-all-I-have-done,-created,-sacrificed-and-how-I-have-martyred-my-self-for-you” Pisces ego so bruised Solar energy or the “I-am-going-to-be-picky,-critical,-nagging,-counting,-fussy,-list-making-and-go-off-by-myself-to-die-alone-with-my-cats-or-stomp-off-and-take-my- ball/toys-and-go-home” Virgo Lunar emotional energy.

Remember, oppositions make us want to fluctuate between two polar extremes. We take one side while they take the other side. One minute we are Virgo, next we are Pisces. It’s an Opposition ~ a face off, a fight! Fight! Fight! Do you really want to fight? Isn’t a better use of the opposition energy to make a list of all the stuff you are grateful for by reaching out and pulling the Virgo and Pisces parts of your chart together? Make Virgo and Pisces sit in a room and scowl at each other until they start to work together if for no other reason than to get out of the room. Harness those Virgo and Pisces polarities and pull them together. One of my favorite songwriters, John Bucchino, has a lovely song, Grateful, which is perfect for moments such as this eclipse and these energies.

I've got a roof over my head
I've got a warm place to sleep
Some nights I lie awake counting gifts
Instead of counting sheep

I've got a heart that can hold love
I've got a mind that can think
There may be times when I lose the light
And let my spirits sink
But I can't stay depressed
When I remember how I'm blessed

Grateful, grateful
Truly grateful I am
Grateful, grateful
Truly blessed
And duly grateful

In a city of strangers
I've got a family of friends
No matter what rocks and brambles fill the way
I know that they will stay in the end

I feel a hand holding my hand
It's not a hand you can see
But on the road to the promised land
This hand will shepherd me
Through delight and despair
Holding tight and always there

Grateful, grateful
Truly grateful I am
Grateful, grateful
Truly blessed
And duly grateful

It's not that I don't want a lot
Or hope for more, or dream of more
But giving thanks for what I've got
Makes me so much happier than keeping score

In a world that can bring pain
I will still take each chance
For I believe that whatever the terrain
Our feet can learn to dance
Whatever stone life may sling
We can moan or we can sing

Grateful, grateful
Truly grateful I am
Grateful, grateful
Truly blessed
And duly grateful

The rest of the fun energies in the week ahead are 1) Mercury stationing to go direct on Monday; 2) Sun entering Pisces and moving into a powerful working aspect with Pluto the planet of transformation and profound evolution on Tuesday; 3) the above discussed eclipse Wednesday as 4) Neptune and Sun transform your definition of home and hearth; 5) Venus having to make a practical Virgo type of adjustment with Saturn on Thursday and 6) Sun hanging out with pain-/ wound-generating Chiron as he argues, and I mean ARGUES, with Saturn over the weekend.

So I want you to hold on to a few thoughts are you step through the week ahead. First, you are seeing things with a set of new eyes (or perhaps eyeglasses) because of the eclipse. The situation has always existed. You see it now. It was always there. You didn’t see it. That is perfectly okay. No one is perfect. We all have our foibles, flaws and facets. You, me, and the other guy. You’ve done this before, honest now, haven‘t you? And, yes, you will probably do it again. But you are getting closer to spotting it before it gets too big, wild and out of control.

You used to be SO MUCH more accommodating than you are now! You didn’t have a very good set of boundaries in this area ~ because the Pisces part of our charts doesn’t have good boundaries. Go ahead and try to tie the Ocean down or hold the changing tides back! And, truth be told, you tried to fix it, repair it, improve it or mend it. You thought you could fix it. That is that Virgo part of our charts that thinks it can improve on things, edit things, and tweak them into perfection. There is no such thing as perfection. There is very, very, very good. Oh, okay, maybe there is perfection in the moment. But the minute perfect happens, the world continues to spin and suddenly it isn’t so perfect any more. It is over. It is done. The dishes need to be done. The laundry needs to be folded. The grass looks greener. Perfect is a moment. Transcendence is a moment. Then it is time to get back to your life, the daily, regular and routine part of your life. The Virgo parts.

Second, maybe a better solution is to love it as you assess it and see it clearly. Love it. Sniff it. Pinch and poke at it gently. Do make sure to love it. It is something ~ a situation, a problem, an opportunity, a result, an outcome ~ that you get to deal with and grow from. Life is full of stuff like this. Take a positive approach to it. Look at what you received from it. Thank it for what it showed you. Assess it. See what it gave you. See what you gave it. Appreciate it.

Third, if it seems to be leaving you, bless it. If it is you who are leaving it, bless it. Sanctify it. Utter good wishes to it. Preserve it from evil. Honor it. Glorify it. Confer well being or prosperity upon it. Respect it. Maybe even worship it ~ not in a weird guru cult like way but as a profound lesson and experience in your life. Be happy for it. Thank it for what it brought into your life. So often our leave takings are acrimonious or bitter. Instead, listen to the song Grateful again. Understand how truly blessed you are to be who you are and where you are on your path. A new chapter awaits you!

The lunar eclipse is a leaving energy. We humans don’t like the leaving energies so much. We are a bit resistant to change, especially changes we didn’t or don’t want. The solar eclipse two weeks ago was a new beginning energy that preceded the leaving energy. So many facets of your life are changing. The leaving parts make room for the new parts to arrive. Right now, or actually toward the end of the week, it will probably hurt quite a bit. Birth is not an easy process. You are giving birth to a new chapter in your life. Be grateful for where you are. Alive on this glorious planet of blue, green, brown, and all the colors of the rainbow. Exalt in the pain ~ if there is any ~ it proves you are alive, feeling and that you care. Exalt in the joy, fear, happiness, anxiety and evolutionary process before you as they prove you are alive, feeling and that you care. You care deeply. That is why this might hurt so much. And no, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t care again. It means you must honor the role of caring in your life. As the Tin Man said, “I know I have a heart because it is breaking!”

Monday, Mercury stations to go direct and sends a little shot of energy back across the permeable time/space existence to mid-December, around the 20th. when Saturn paused at 8 Virgo. Mercury’s station forms a Virgo style inconjunct to the ghost of Saturn’s station. You have to adjust how you think and what you do. It means a bit of work on your part. Just dig in and do it. No arguing. No bickering. Dig in and do it. This adjustment is a mental one. Later in the week, Venus has to adjust to Saturn and she's not so happy about it. Adjust. Adjust. Adjust.

Tuesday is an exceptionally busy day. Sun moves from Aquarius to Pisces ~ leaving detached air and diving into the profound emotions of water. If you’ve been trying to cry over the past few weeks and not able to, now, starting today, the tears will be able to flow. They WILL stop so let them flow. Your ego and vision of self and life direction works with Pluto in his practical energy to create or at least envision what you want to create. Sun wants to clear out your home and nest energy ~ release the things related to your former life or to the situation leaving your life so you can move freely forward. Perhaps you might plan a release ritual for the full moon and eclipse tomorrow? Sun has an earth based aspect with Saturn suggesting a face off and separation. So why bother doing this any more? Can you close the chapter and move on? Turn off the lights and leave? You can always pick it up down the road if you want to. The Virgo Moon would LOVE a separating ritual to sink its heart into! Venus in Aquarius is quite frisky and very talkative today ~ she’s feeling connected to Mars in a very creative manner. She’s seeing myriad options and all the possibilities opening on the road before her. She’s talking to Uranus about how to move the stress she’s feeling from her new found freedom into a productive action or set of steps. Support Venus by making a list of things to explore or try out. And while you are at it, you might help the Sun make a list of things he wants to release tomorrow on the full Moon.

Wednesday we have our lovely full moon eclipse where the earth’s body casts her shadow on the luminous face of our tidal, satellite, operating energy of the moon. We watch in awe as Moon turns a deep, blood red. Read the Full Moon column on this site for more information about the energy of the Full Moon and eclipse. Neptune, our planet of emotions, tears, fluid, creation, illusion, delusion, addictions, transcendence, and boundary-free cosmic merging is very active. Emotions are freeflowing as we understand our being and our body is all we have. Make a resolve to partner with yourself in a less judgmental and critical way. Bless your being. Sanctify your body. Utter good wishes to your self. Preserve your being from evil. Honor your heart. Glorify your soul. Confer wellbeing or prosperity upon your body. Respect that you are. Maybe even worship or hug yourself? Understand that the being we call you is offering you a profound lesson and experience as you travel with yourself through your life and the world. Be happy. Thank yourself for what you’ve brought into your life to learn, experience and care about.

Thursday do remember that NOT everyone reads this column or follows the stars. Today is a kick the dog kind of day. People are not going to be feeling able to take on their authority figures or deal with their muddle of emotions. SO that means they will be taking it, their swirling mass of emotions, out on those of us who are “weaker” or less powerful than they think they are. Venus, while so perky a few days ago, is getting into an argument with Saturn today. They both need to adjust their approach and neither of them are in the mood to yield or change. They both think they are perfectly correct in their world view. That means either Venus or Saturn (or both) are going to be flying around your world WITHOUT an enormous amount of patience, niceness or gentle kindness. Moon in Virgo means critical words will fly, bosses or authorities will be irritated while love, money or connections feel quite cruel, detached or cold. Do your work. Keep your head down. Don’t argue with them even if they want to pick a fight with you. Let them go and pick a fight with someone else. They want to fight. It doesn’t have to be that they get to fight with you.

Friday Jupiter has an idea that is absolutely brilliant as well as strategic. Jupiter was fueled by all the work you did yesterday while you were ducking and hiding out from cranky Venus or Saturn. Follow up on your ideas. Work hard. Clear out your backlog of stuff. Use the Moon in Virgo to get it off your desk and out the door and into the world.

Saturn’s day we find the emotions of the week building to a stress level that may make us teary, sad or melancholy. While we appreciate that the partnership or relationship is ending or ended, there is a part of us that finds our own soul wound vibrating in sadness in harmony with the ending. Think about it this way ~ you’ve lived in or with the situation that is leaving your life now. It gave you enormous gifts and many hours of joy. It is over. Or it is changing into a new form so that it won’t be like it used to be. Sadness is appropriate and an honest, honorable response to what is going on.

Sunday, Saturn and the Sun oppose each other. Once a year, this aspect arrives to remind us that all things end. The Catholic in me is reminded of Ash Wednesday, when my ex-Jewish boyfriend used to be weirded out by all the people walking around with cross marks of ashes, or dark smudges of Schmutz as he called it, on their foreheads. It actually is a pretty profound experience in New York City at lunchtime and during rush hour! As the priest puts the cross on your forehead of burned ash, he intones, “Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return" (Gen 3:19). Life on earth is mortal, finite, short and has distinct limits. Things cease. The energy of things ceasing combined with the releasing energy of the eclipse earlier this week makes today a profound day in each of our lives as we realize things will never be the same. We are moving on, but with a remembrance in our heart of things dear to us that exist no longer.

Cosmic Calendar, Wednesday February 20th ~

You need to be very focused, grounded and mentally clear today. Early on, you may be tested when Vesta forms a rare parallel with Neptune (6:35AM PST) while the Sun conjuncts this asteroid (7:15AM PST) so strongly associated with the themes of sisterhood, safety and security, home and hearth, insurance rates and coverage, and investments. Know what you are doing with your material assets and money-management. Get a second, third or fourth opinion instead of trusting one fiscal adviser or just relying on your own instinct. Love vibrations increase in frequency later on when Juno forms a supportive 60-degree link with Neptune (12:07PM PST). This can also be a boost for anyone into fashion, shopping, style and beauty interests. However, this alignment takes place during a void lunar cycle that starts at 9:53AM PST and concludes at 4:07PM PST when the Moon enters industrious and meticulous Virgo. During this 6+ hour time-span, it is better to finish old business rather than launch bold ventures. After 4:07PM PST, zero in on the little details and minor concerns that sometimes become so crucial in making major achievements on your life path. The big news is the Full Moon arriving at 7:32PM PST (energizing 2 degrees of Pisces and Virgo) while a Total Lunar Eclipse happens five minutes earlier. Any Full Moon carries a keynote of enlightenment (when positive), but contains a shadow side that relates to tug-of-war scenarios with family members, colleagues, competitors or authority figures. Individual and group meditations are recommended. Send out your healing thoughts and prayers to dear ones, the kingdoms of nature and a struggling humanity searching for answers.

Cosmic Calendar, Thursday February 21st ~

One thing that is always important to consider - on the day after a Full Moon - is what you want to do with all the energy and potential enlightenment you have just received. Should this be held by you alone or should you be sharing it with others? Think about utilizing the two days after every Full Moon as an opportunity to offer your insights, beliefs and illuminating visions to friends, family members, colleagues and the world-at-large. On a more pragmatic level, today's Virgo Moon - and the lunar orb's conjunction with Saturn (1:57AM PST) - is a reminder to be more organized, focused, down to earth, and orderly. Be the efficiency master at your workplace and on the home front. Stop worrying about things you cannot control. Zero in on the nitty-gritty and know you can make everything shine again. This can be a good day to stock up on grains, cereals, vitamins, health foods, fruit and veggies, seeds, nuts, herbal teas and seasonings. Gardeners should be more focused on eliminating pests than planting methods. The business climate is rather paltry and questionable since Venus in Aquarius makes an awkward, 150-degree link to Saturn in Virgo (4:25PM PST). This Venus-Saturn association can also put a damper on romance for the time being. Be more serious about dealing with health concerns. Fortunately, the evening hours look reasonably upbeat since the Moon trines Jupiter in earth signs (6:03PM PST). Research, investigations and library work are back in vogue.

Cosmic Calendar, Friday February 22nd ~

Revelations should be pouring into your mind this morning - courtesy of a mentally-stimulating Pallas-Jupiter 72-degree quintile aspect (7:30AM PST). In mythology, Pallas was said to be the daughter of Jupiter and that she was born full-armored as his brain-child after he experienced a major headache of sorts. All of this actually refers back to the fact that both of these celestial bodies place a great emphasis on intellectual prowess, higher learning, and growth through educational pursuits. Thus, this alignment not only refers to gains that can be made in terms of knowledge accumulation, but to tapping into your innate wisdom and even the treasures that exist on spiritual levels of being. If you are looking for a quick fix or resolution to recent love and money hassles, then you may have to be extra patient. The continuation of Virgo Moon and especially a lunar square to the red planet Mars (6:16PM PST) usually manifests as the necessity to deal with minor problems and hard-to-extinguish, petty annoyances. In addition, this Moon-Mars face-off begins a void lunar cycle that lasts until 11:46PM PST when the Moon enters affable Libra Moon. However, you want to be somewhat cautious and conservative during this 5+ hour twilight-zone time-period. Trying to force others to do your bidding is foolish. Being more hermit-like and studious makes sense. Another reason that romance is probably off-limits during the evening hours is that Juno is approaching a dicey contra-parallel to Saturn (exact at 1:43AM PST tomorrow) while Juno also moves into a frictional, 45-degree link to Venus (exact at 4:13PM PST tomorrow). With two discordant Juno alignments on the verge of happening, count your blessings and appreciate all the good things if life coming your way.

Cosmic Calendar, Saturnday February 23rd ~

As indicated in yesterday's calendar entry, there are definite tensions going on regarding affairs of the heart. The main problem is that the asteroid Juno - so closely related to the issues of empowerment, equality and fairness in primary partnerships - is making an abrasive contra-parallel formation with Saturn (1:43AM PST) while also linking up with Venus via a potentially stormy 45-degree association (4:13PM PST). Be more sensitive to dear ones under pressure and go out of your way to support anyone going through a crisis. The cosmos may be able to come to your rescue since the Moon is now in airy, relationship-oriented Libra, the lunar orb makes a flowing trine of 120 degrees to Venus in Aquarius (2:32PM PST) while Juno bounces back from its adversarial ties by making a mentally-stimulating 72-degree tie to the Sun (5:57PM PST). Just as obstacles appear to be gaining the upper hand in the romantic realm, the universe extends an olive branch of peace and understanding in your direction. Therefore, soak up as much of the good vibrations happening today as possible, and turn your life and key partnerships around in a positive manner. If you are looking for some help on the communication front, it should arrive in concert with a harmonious Moon-Mercury trine in air signs (6:11PM PST). Healing forces are on the march this evening since the Sun parallels Chiron (8:22PM PST). Nevertheless, there is still a psychic cloud that can be hanging over your interactions with loved ones because the Sun is approaching its annual polarity with Saturn (precise at 1:49AM PST tomorrow). Do everything in your power to steer clear of self-doubts, anxiety, irrational fears and a downcast frame of mind. Enjoy an evening of board, card or word games with supportive pals. Listening to inspiring music can also counteract some of Saturn's harsher wavelengths.

Cosmic Calendar, Sunday February 24th ~

Hold Everything! It's always a big deal when the Sun opposes Saturn (1:49AM PST) - a polarity that currently blends Pisces with Virgo, water with earth, pure creativity (Sun) with the right structures and forms (Saturn) in which to encapsulate that solar creativity. All oppositions across the zodiac suggest that answers to problems can be found somewhere in the relationship realm. Under the aegis of a Sun-Saturn encounter like this, the usual manifestation is that roadblocks suddenly appear to block your progress. Your job is to hurdle over those obstacles and vanquish any impediments to your forward progress. Now it is also likely that professional stature or career ambitions may be part of the mix right now as Saturn is the ruling planet of Capricorn - a sign that is strongly associated with reaching worldly pinnacles of success. Overall, you want to be diligent, hard-working and sensible today across the board. Wounding anyone with barbs of criticism is a no-no. Try to build people up with praise and words of support. It may also be important to focus attention on chronic difficulties - whether medical, behavioral or both. Helping you regain a sense of emotional balance and spiritual wellbeing are lunar trines to Chiron (9:01AM PST) and Neptune (6:47PM PST). The Moon's rapport with Chiron can take some of the sting out of the earlier Sun-Saturn altercation. When Chiron comes into the picture, be willing to play a maverick or mediator role. You may be called upon to arbitrate a dispute between loved ones. This is something you might relish or choose to avoid by suggesting the two individuals seek out a professional counselor or therapist. In the meantime, the Moon-Neptune trine points you in the direction of enjoying film and video experimentation, musical improvisation, trying out new artistic mediums or dancing away the moody blues.

Cosmic Calendar, Monday February 25th ~

This can be a successful start to your workweek, but don't be in too much of a hurry. First of all, Sun-Saturn alignments - like yesterday's opposition - are notorious for hanging around for a couple of days. Therefore, remember the old saying this morning that patience is a cardinal virtue. In addition, the Moon in Libra forms a flowing trine of 120 degrees to Mars in Gemini (5:36AM PST) - an alignment that usually signals the need for a gung-ho and pro-active approach to life. However, this Moon-Mars connection begins a void lunar cycle that won't conclude until 10:06AM PST and the arrival of intensive Scorpio Moon. Be more cautious during this 4+ hour limbo time-span and complete old business instead of launching bold ventures. Once the clock strikes 10:06AM PST, you can start a two-day excursion into the realm of mysteries and secrets. Don you Perry Mason disguise and get to the root of core problems. Take a good look at your intimate world and make any adjustments possible to improve romantic bonds. If mood swings are your key concern today, join the club. Millions are feeling the pinch as the Moon parallels Mercury (2:45PM PST), Pluto (4:42PM PST), and Venus (9:35PM PST). A parallel is similar to a conjunction in the zodiac, and the lunar parallels to Mercury (aiding communications) and Venus (aiding love, business and social prospects) are positive in nature. However, the Moon-Pluto parallel can go either way - bringing increased vitality and self-confidence or helping to pour salt on old wounds. Learn valuable lessons this evening from a main mentor or teacher as the Moon makes a supportive, 60-degree link to Saturn (8:06PM PST).

Weekly Weather February 25, 2008
By Anne Ortelee

The eclipses are leaving! The eclipses are leaving! Forward we go towards the next chapter of our lives. Mercury is quite active in the week ahead, as he passes for the third time over the same patch of sky. Carl Jung said, 'Whatever is not conscious will be experienced as fate.' Mercury in the week ahead is going to show you, make you, ask you, and offer you the opportunity to become more conscious in your life and the part of the world that you travel in. He is going to go over the recent eclipse points to highlight your other options, your issues, and your unconscious stuff. Mercury is going to ask you to own your stuff a bit more. Time for Mercury, in his exaltation, to help you become more conscious.

Mercury is going to point out your desire nature, what you value and hold most close to your heart. You know what goes on down deep, in that quiet part of your soul's heart desire place? Mercury will point out your unique version of true or truth, twice in fact! It will happen once by the zodiac union called a conjunction and once by earth union or parallel declination. New cycle starting alert! Mercury is meeting Venus in the sky! Be prepared to ask for what you want, even if you don‘t think you have a snowball‘s chance in hell of getting it. They have been exploring their options and it looks like it is down to you and another. So say what you want! They do not read minds. ASK for it! No Silent Hoping that you will be picked or chosen! Wave your hands in the air! Jump up and down! Shout out ~“Hey, I want that over here!” Ask! If you do not ask, they will not know you want it. Be conscious of your desires!

Mercury is going to direct your attention toward what you collaborate with, or perhaps what you used to partner with, that created a good, so-so or bad result in your life. Mercury’s conversations with Pallas will create a stress that will result in you feeling the need to take some sort of new actions. Be prepared to understand, in a deeper way, that what you choose to partner with, as well as HOW you BEHAVE WHEN you partner with it creates your future story. Choose wisely. Choose consciously! Partner with consciousness!

Mercury in Aquarius might (in fact, probably will, but I am being positive, consciously!) have a fight with Mars in Gemini about the perceived choices or options before you, especially when the “other guy”, either Mars or Mercury, decides or chooses to define the choices or options for YOU. Remember there are ALWAYS MORE than the two or three options being presented to you as an either/or. Be prepared to widen your (or their) vision of options if you don‘t like the choices being offered to you. Ask “Why?” Inquire, “Says who?” Then sit there, quietly, until they answer your question. Remember, whomever talks first loses! Be quiet. Let them answer that “Why” or “Says who” question of yours. Make them say “uncle”. Wait until they give it up. Mercury and Mars have a sibling kind of squabble about the rules of the game they or you are involved in. A fight about the rules they or you used to follow. A disagreement about the rules as they or you would like to exist. Or perhaps a tussle over the rules they or you broke or ignored. It is about the rules of the game between the two of you. Remember those rules do not have to exist any more if you do not want them to. You do not have to play by those rules. You will HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE for your choice of NOT playing by the rules any more. If you are willing to accept your side of the responsibility to ignore the old rules, well, then, go right ahead and ignore the rules. Ignore the rules consciously!

Perhaps a better way to look at Jung’s quote is to make it longer ~ change rules of the words he wrote so to speak. "Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will control your life and you will call it fate." The entire purpose of the situation(s) before you this week is to ask you to make the situation(s) conscious. Understand the rules of the game you are involved in. You are supposed to look and see what you see. Pretend you are an alien who plopped down in the situation you find yourself in. Try to explain the situation before you to another alien who does not know the rules of the game or how the story goes. Pretend you are an alien to the rules before you.

By example, the rules of football become: “Your team has 4 chances to move a ball 10 yards. If you succeed, you get another chance. Your goal is to move the ball to the end of the long green field of lines and get points. Whoever has the most points by the end of the time alloted wins.” All the rest of football is embellishment ~ from the minimally dressed cheerleaders to the cheering, green faced, drunken fans to the matching uniforms, heavy padding and helmets to big guys beating each other up to tackles to passes to future draft picks to injuries to plays called to all the different coaches, trainers, people and line keepers to Gatorade getting dumped on a head to the little tiny guys running around in striped clothes while blowing whistles to the fat cats high above the field making lots and lots of money by charging people to watch the ball move down the field.

You are engaged in a game right now. Pretend you are an alien and describe it to another alien. It is okay to laugh at the game you are in when you describe it. Focus on what YOU want the rules to be. What is the core, most important part of the game ~ what is the move the football down the field 10 yards part? That is what you want to focus on this week. Focus on that and act accordingly. Remember you can also take your ball and go home. Keep your eye on the ball. Moreover, if you LOSE this week, you have only lost a battle, not a war.

You might lose this week. It might hurt a bit. Or you might win this week. You might be happy. Nevertheless, do know, win or lose, you will become MORE conscious. The point and purpose of living is to become more conscious. "Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will control your life and you will call it fate". The actual purpose of your life is for you to become conscious. If you are conscious, you are in control of your life and, to the extent possible, you control your fate. Straightforward rules to the game of your life eh?

'Whatever is not conscious will be experienced as fate.' Fate as defined is 1. force predetermining events: the force or principle believed to predetermine events; 2. outcome: a consequence or final result; 3. destiny: something consequential that inevitably happens to somebody or something; 4. unhappy consequence, a disastrous or ruinous outcome; 5. Make something inevitable: to predetermine something, usually with negative results (usually passive) Fate is Latin from fatum, literally “something spoken (by the gods).”

Monday, Mars is talking to the nodes of destiny. You are going to be asked to move your football in your game down the field 10 yards or so. You have a chance to go for it. So take the risk. Be brave. Go for it. Fate is talking to you. Be conscious. Do not be passive. Be aware. Consciousness can shift the outcome.

Tuesday Mercury is talking to you (and Venus) about your desire and true heartfelt deep inside of your being profound wish. We all have soul level wishes that are deep and true to our beings. This is such a deep and profound wish for something to appear in your life. Maybe you were asking the wrong person to make your deep wish come true? Maybe you had your wish but you didn’t know you had it? Or maybe you were creating that profound wish of yours for them? Were you creating your wish for them because it is what you wanted them to create for you? Do you see that if you could create your profound wish for them, you can create it for yourself? You did it already! You know how to create your wish! All you have to do now is create your wish for yourself. You have to partner with yourself ~ maybe you can adjust a teeny tiny bit how you want to partner with yourself? Can you become conscious so your fate is in your hands? Can you allow Ceres to guide your soul and solar energy to create it?

Wednesday has a sense of restlessness about it. Saturn looks at what you have been sitting with or living with. Saturn examines it with a rather harsh or critical eye. Perhaps what has been going on has been a bit of an illusion? Do remember our illusions serve a purpose! Illusions help us get in touch with our deep and profound wishes. Illusions, or perhaps more importantly, the shedding of our illusions, make us conscious. Illusions make us aware of how deep and important our wishes are. We become aware of how our illusions drive our behaviors. Moon in Scorpio, void most of the day, is in the mood to dig around in the secret places of your being. Moon in Scorpio is in the mood to look at your unconscious. Moon in Scorpio, especially when void and unattached to any planets in the sky, allows our energy being to float free. Void moons are the universe’s way of connecting us to our unconscious. Thus your unconscious will rise. The unconscious will bubble, probably, most likely, unbidden, up to the surface of your conscious mind. Then, once it does, it becomes conscious. And then it will no longer be called fate! It is conscious. You can see it now.

Thursday Venus is none too happy! She is in the mood to argue with Pallas, her strategic partner in creation, and Mars, her go and get it guy. Venus is unhappy because she gets it now! Venus gets it! Venus got conscious! Venus is responsible for what shows up in her life based on what and whom she desires. Venus desires it. Venus chooses to partner with it. Mars, working with Venus, ensures that it will show up. So, well, what THAT means ~ what consciousness means, is that IF Venus does not want that particular version of fate to happen to her any more than she has to consciously choose to partner with things differently! She has to be conscious about what she links up, hooks up, connects with. Venus has to ask Mars to go get her something different. Venus has to partner with Pallas in a different way. Venus has to change her strategy and actions. Yeech! No wonder she is not happy. Venus wants THEM to change! She doesn't want to take responsibility for it, at all!!!

Friday, is one of those decisive moment kind of days. Venus joins with Pluto by declination. What can happen today is we all move consciously forward toward our new lives OR we decide (Venus decides) that we do not want to acknowledge our role in creating it. And, yes, that can happen. Think of how many people you know who are not willing to face or deal with the situations they have created in their lives. Uranus is fast approaching his station degree from last June ~ 18:41. It is the same degree as the eclipse from September. It is the same degree of the Saturn/Uranus opposition on election day next fall. We are at a turning point in our individual and collective consciousness. The gap or crack in the earth that has let us see deeply into our being will begin to close soon. Look! LOOK! What do you see? Do you see how you have partnered with what you have created? It is not bad. It is. Change your approach if you do not like what you have. Conscious change.

Saturn’s day, Venus has had it with the whole “get conscious” business. She is complaining to Jupiter and Pluto today! She‘s taking it up with those who are in charge of things. Unfortunately, they are not able to do anything to change or fix her complaints. The universe is all about cause and effect. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Push-Pull. Black-White. Negative-Positive. Earth/Water- Fire/Air. Duality. Gravity. Resonance. What is the cause and effect going on in your world? Do you see the cause? Can you spot the effect? Do you see how the cause and effect are related, tied to each other and actually spring from the same source? There ~ that’s it ~ that is conscious! You can see how they are related. Becoming conscious is not hard. We aren’t taught how to do it in school. Our culture does not encourage it. Physics majors learn it. But the rest of us, nope, we have to work it out ourselves. But if you look to cause and effect IN ANY SITUATION, you'll find consciousness. So look for cause and effect already!

Sunday is a day of new beginnings. The eclipse energy, whose purpose was to create consciousness in our being, is beginning to fade. We are in a balsamic approach to the next new moon. Mars and Pallas have a crabby conversation with each other after their interaction with Venus earlier this week. Perhaps they will decide to do things differently going forward? Our fate is determined by our choices. Conscious choices or unconscious choices, both kinds of choices work to create our life. Venus and Mercury both look at Ceres across the equator ~ hmmm so if we nurture it, desire it and send it our creative intent, we create it? Wow! The second part of that is acknowledging our role in creation. People spend time on the things they love! Are you spending your life on what you love? If not, why not? Conscious creation. Conscious intent. Conscious use of your life’s days. Time to be conscious about how you spend your hours, minutes and seconds of your life. Sun has an aspect of brilliance to Pluto ~ yes it is that easy. Your chart describes what you want to do. So go do it already. Time is a wasting!

Mundane: Now that I am free to speak my politics completely unedited, this section on Mundane astrology, the astrology of what is going on in the world, is going to get a bit deeper, wider and stronger than it has been before.

Recent news stateside was Michelle Obama said she was “proud of her country”. AP Wire Services, Fox News and the conservative talk shows, all carried an EDITED CLIP of her speech. They didn‘t TELL YOU it was edited! In fact, they told you it was whole and intact. Then they proceeded to pile on her like in a football game.

The net result of the talking heads and the EDITED clip implied that she wasn‘t proud of her country before. What Mrs. Obama ACTUALLY said was she was “REALLY PROUD”. The “REALLY” was edited out. You can read “really” on her lips. You can hear the “re” part of the “really” that was deleted from the tape if you listen to the clip. As a long time watcher and reader of lips on TV ~ especially sports coaches when they are losing or having bad calls made by referees ~ you can see her saying “really” even if you can’t hear the word.

On the other hand, the New York Times published a story about McCain and his cooperative work with lobbyists and the companies/ industries they represent. The story was quite interesting. However, what we heard was the part about an alleged affair McCain had with an attractive lobbyist who looked like his wife. So, instead of an informed, intelligent discussion about the issue of the influence of lobbyists, we were distracted by the Sound and Fury of alleged sex acts that NONE OF US CARE ABOUT! Frankly, unless it is happening in MY bedroom, I do not much care who knocks boots with whom. We need to look and evaluate the important things facing our nation. We need to be informed about our choices regarding our next leader.

I do HATE IT when the extremely conservative, corporate controlled mainstream media spin machine gets going ~ when it gets going on or against either side. Remember, as we get deeper into the election time that only FIVE, count them, FIVE companies, control the entire ‘free’ press in the United States. Ever wonder why it is Britney all the time? Or that poor girl who disappeared in Aruba? Or why we learn where McCain’s private appendages might have been? Or how we are manipulated into being “indignant” by an edited clip of a speech. Get conscious! If we do not, our fate will be to eat cake!

Cosmic Calendar, Tuesday February 26th ~

Overall, this appears to be a very auspicious day in the works. Five upbeat and positive alignments are gracing the Earth and humanity for a change of pace: The Sun in Pisces trines the Moon in Scorpio (12:17AM PST); Mercury conjuncts Venus in Aquarius (9:53AM PST); The Sun makes a mentally-stimulating 72-degree tie with Ceres (11:22AM PST); The Moon forms a supportive, 60-degree link with Jupiter in Capricorn (4:15PM PST) while also making a harmonious trine to Uranus in Pisces (10:14PM PST). It's not every day when the cosmos is in such a compliant and nurturing demeanor. Therefore, you need to take advantage of each opportunity coming your way. The Mercury-Venus conjunction is an enormous boost on the communication, literary, social and artistic fronts. The Sun-Ceres liaison can signal a rise in your productivity quotient. Reach out and nurture maternal figures, children and pets in your family circle. The lunar alignments to Jupiter and Uranus sound a positive note when it comes to scientific, mathematical and metaphysical research projects. Nevertheless, the Moon in Scorpio is also making three square formations to Venus (8:18AM PST), Mercury (8:23AM PST) and Chiron (9:02PM PST) - all three of which are in Aquarius. While lunar, 90-degree sky patterns are short-lived (influential for a couple of hours before and after), these three can still pack a punch since the signs involved are of the fixed, power variety. Therefore, don't overload your schedule or push your personal agenda around these time-periods. In terms of accomplishing everything on your to-do list, you are much better off getting them done today since tomorrow brings a very long void lunar cycle.

Cosmic Calendar, Wednesday February 27th ~

Yesterday's stellar performance by the cosmos is ancient history since you now have to deal with a Vesta-Saturn polarity stretching between Pisces and Virgo (8:11AM PST). Vesta oppositions to Saturn are fairly rare and don't necessarily favor smooth, easy-going relationships with dear ones. There can be rising worries about financial problems, investment boondoggles, and a significant other's safety. It is best to refrain from negotiating business agreements that can put important assets at risk. On the other hand, this alignment can also bring its share of wisdom and deep-seated realizations. If you feel the urge to flee from the maddening crowd and take a vow of silence for the day, go ahead. Meditation, affirmations, and yoga sessions fit into today's celestial dispensation. The Vesta-Saturn clash is not the only concern as the Moon squares Neptune (6:55AM PST) - a potentially confusing aspect that begins a void lunar cycle that lasts until 10:23PM PST (when the Moon finally enters fiery Sagittarius). During this nearly 16-hour marathon of uncertainty, what's the point of making big decisions or buying large-ticket items when you know you're asking for trouble? It's much better to keep a low profile, accept the status-quo across the board, and wait until more opportune moments appear on the horizon during the next few days. You should be able to let out an enormous sigh of relief at 10:23PM PST and during the few hours afterward when the Moon enters ebullient and enthusiastic Sagittarius. Visualize yourself reaching long-sought goals over the next two days.

Catching up after being sick all week.....

Cosmic Calendar, Thursday February 28th ~

Don't be too surprised if you are feeling rather restless today. It's all part of the monthly lunar transit in high-flying, mutable and adventurous Sagittarius. If you have felt confined and restricted in recent days or weeks, this can be a break-out time - when you want to flee constraints and wander in wide-open spaces. Sports, games and outdoor excursions are a blast right now and into Friday. However, all is not smooth sailing since Venus makes an abrasive, 135-degree link to Mars (7:58AM PST), the Last Quarter Sun-Moon Phase occurs (activating 10 degrees of Pisces and Sagittarius at 6:19PM PST), and Venus forms a potent and unpredictable parallel to Pluto (9:45PM PST). The Venus-Mars contact can equate with couples squabbling and emotional spats that could even spill over into the workplace. Think more about bringing your feminine and masculine sides into balance than in winning points during feisty debates. The Last Quarter Sun-Moon Phase reminds you to cut through obstacles on mental and even spiritual levels that are keeping you at the back of the graduating class. Like the Venus-Mars struggle for supremacy in the morning, tonight's Venus-Pluto linkage points to underground currents of discontent that may be causing the big chill to descend into romantic ties. However, the good news is that both Venus alignments can be tweaked and transformed into favorable sky patterns that give your love life a healthy boost in the right direction. Therefore, don't give up hope and faith that improvements can be made in matters of the heart. Utilize the Sagittarian Moon placement to tap into the power of positive thinking.

Cosmic Calendar, Friday February 29th ~

With a little finesse and an extra dose of lunar Sagittarian flexibility, you should be able to close the door on February with a note of triumph. Look back on yesterday's psychic obstacle course and give yourself an honest grade. If you were able to keep your nose to the grindstone and steer clear on self-created snafus, then give yourself several gold stars for meritorious conduct within the school of astrological hard knocks. Meanwhile, the Moon in Sagittarius is on your side today and offering breakthroughs in consciousness throughout the day as the lunar orb forms four supportive, 60-degree sextiles to Mercury (1:06AM PST), Venus (3:49AM PST), Chiron (9:55AM PST), and Neptune (7:32PM PST) - all of which are located in service-oriented and yet eccentric Aquarius. Add on a stimulating Juno-Vesta 72-degree link (8:33PM PST) and the monthly Moon-Juno union in Sagittarius (11:00PM PST), and it looks like you can cruise to the finish line in record timing. All those sextile alignments suggest constructive work, artistic success, and business accolades should be bountiful. The two Juno contacts tonight can bring you out of a loved one's doghouse and offer you the keys to the executive penthouse of romance if you are on your best behavior. However, Mercury, Mars and Pallas may not be going along with all this merriment. Mercury makes a tense, 45-degree tie with Pallas (8:43PM PST) and then moves on to confront Mars via a discordant, 135-degree association (11:14PM PST). What you say and how you say it will determine how well your evening flows. A little humor and goodwill won't hurt since Venus contacts giant Jupiter via a subtle 30-degree rapport (exact at 12:33AM PST on Saturday).

Cosmic Calendar, Saturday March 1st ~

Don't be in too much of a rush to push the envelope in the morning hours. While a subtle Venus-Jupiter 30-degree rapport (12:33AM PST) can tune you into the big picture of success on Planet Earth, a sharper and more frictional Venus-Pluto 45-degree link (4:43AM PST) often coincides with skirmishes in affairs of the heart or rising emotional turbulence. This can be amplified as the Moon in Sagittarius opposes the red planet Mars in Gemini (8:55AM PST). This polarity also begins a void lunar cycle that lasts until 10:34AM PST and the arrival of industrious Capricorn Moon. Hard work and perseverance over the long haul will lead you to the promised land of professional fulfillment. Heavy-duty concentration and incredible focus puts you in the proverbial catbird seat - especially since the Moon conjuncts Pluto (12:19PM PST). Social, cultural and artistic activities are in the offing later on when Mercury parallels Venus (6:00PM PST). You can also utilize this liaison to catapult yourself forward as a business entrepreneur or with an important literary project. Get back into the swing of a favorite sport or exercise regime as Mars squares Pallas (9:15PM PST). Steer clear of mental tension that can undermine your self-confidence and send you to the back of the class. A massage, reflexology session or mineral bath can reduce aches and pains, and soothe your nerves.

Cosmic Calendar Sunday March 2nd ~

For the most part, this is a great day with several astrological alignments that point toward golden opportunities becoming reality. Your job is to be in the right place at the right time and in the right state of consciousness. The first asset arrives at 11:13AM PST when the Moon makes a supportive 60-degree link to the Sun. The continuation of earthy Capricorn Moon all day pulls you like a magnet toward Mother Nature and communing with the elements. Take a compass, maps, binoculars, and enjoy a bird-watching expedition for a change of pace. The scales of fortune may be tilting in your direction as the Moon makes its monthly union with giant Jupiter (5:44PM PST) while Venus conjuncts Chiron in Aquarius (6:07PM PST). Jupiter's power links strongly to the ability to expand your consciousness and make a splash in journalistic circles. The Venus-Chiron encounter often strengthens love bonds or signifies your ability to raise funds for an important business enterprise. Lass than one hour later, the Sun makes a mentally-stimulating 72-degree quintile connection to distant Pluto (6:43PM PST). Research projects with a psychological bent receive the cosmic green light. If you have crucial errands to run or tasks to perform, and the choice is between today and tomorrow, you may want to choose today as Monday has a long void lunar cycle happening. In fact, this lunar twilight-zone begins this evening at 10:17PM PST - lasting until 8:26PM PST Monday evening. Immerse yourself in a bestseller or literary classic tonight in concert with Mercury forming a potent 45-degree tie with Pluto (10:14PM PST).

I love this quote from the article!! “You can’t go back. It isn’t back there any more. There is nothing to go back to. You can only go forward. That is how life works. Appreciate the precious moments of time in your life as they are never repeatable!”

Weekly Weather March 3, 2008
By Anne Ortelee

We have an exceptionally important and very profound week ahead of us. Read that again and breathe deeply.

First, several very sensitive points from earlier in the year are waking up and being activated by Uranus, the great awakener and cosmic agent of change/ chaos/ creativity. Uranus is rolling over those points this week and shaking them up ~ specifically, the Uranus‘ station from last June at 18:41 Pisces and the New Moon eclipse from last September at 18:25 Virgo. The stories from June and September that have or need extra information or activity to finish them up will come back. They will show up and start to get active in your life again.

Back in June, Uranus stopped moving forward. It was kind of like the film broke or your vision stopped evolving. In September, you figured out how to repair/ replace the film/ vision for your life but maybe you were not quite ready to move towards it. There was too much other stuff on your plate. Or other things were taking your attention. Or maybe you weren’t healed from the changes of Saturn in Leo. Now, this week, the movie and your life are ready to start moving forward again. The film is spliced. You are healed, ripe and ready to go. Life will resume a normal pace after this brief week of flash backs. The flashbacks happen to help you remember. Then the flashbacks will take you back out into the world. There might be a startle response of recognition when the stuff reappears. Using the information you’ve figured out since last June and September, re-approach your life with a fresh sense of “Okay, now what do I want to do about this?!”

Second, we have a New Moon, at 17:31 Pisces, smack dab on Uranus and those June and September points. A New Moon, alone, on those sensitive points can pack a considerable wallop. Adding the New Moon to transiting Uranus piles on extra energy. It will trigger explosions, craziness and turbulence all over our charts (and in the stock and financial markets too). The New Moon means the film break from last June will resume with bigger than usual shocks and excitements as the story that stopped back then moves forward with a creaky start and a major bump or two. You‘ve had nine months to get your act together so to speak. Nine months to get your film spliced and your stuff cleaned up. Uranus and the New Moon both say you are as ready as you will ever be ~ even if you don‘t think you are ready! Drawing boards, drafting tables and delays, obstructions and negotiations are finished! It is time to go out into the real world and get this baby done! It is time to wrap it up and finish it already.

Third, Mars has a major argument with Pluto on the world axis after entering his least favorite sign of zodiac, Cancer, a few hours before the New Moon lunation. This is quite a nasty aspect. Alone, it is quite enough, all by itself, to inspire a knock down and dragged out fight over issues that started earlier and have been building up a head of steam for quite a while. Folks are going to be testy all week, especially in their late Gemini and early Cancer/ Capricorn houses. Depending on your chart, this fight CAN relate to the Uranus station, eclipse story of the broken film OR it can be a completely separate story. If it the stories are combined, watch out! If the stories are separate stories, then two areas of your life are going to be active at the same time, with differing demands on your energy. Do not expect a quiet week!

Also, this is Mars’ third pass opposite Pluto. If Mars hasn’t been able to address his myriad issues with Pluto successfully during the first two passes, every one better stand back and watch out. Watch for the area that you find yourself very impatient in ~ that is the location of Mars or Pluto. Mars is ever so fed up with the not being able to move. Mars is NOT in the mood for Pluto’s manipulations, however minor or well intentioned they might be. Not for a single minute more! Not a single moment more!!! The earlier passes of Mars to Pluto were September 21 and January 2. The earlier oppositions or arguments were in fire and air signs. They were negotiations around vision and communications. Now, Pluto is in earth while Mars is in water. That means the issues are about to go to ground and NOT be so airy-fairy, fire-flare any more. Mars and Pluto are about to have a major mud wrestle in quicksand. The playful, feinting fight of air with fire is going to get serious about solid earth things and high emotions.

Think of two cats fighting. It starts out as a playful tussle. Or a swat and a grab at some body part. Then both backs arch, tails puff up, and they do that side ways dance thing with their heads cocked. Ears go back. And, all of a sudden, they are into it. It suddenly goes from playful batting to rough and tumble. It gets aggressive out of virtually no where. Well not out of virtually nowhere (they knew what was going on even if you didn't) but suddenly there is a MAJOR escalation and the fur is flying.

Now, Mars is not as potent as he might be when he is in water. But Mars in cardinal, fast moving fresh water. Fresh water does soften dirt, or earth up, making it more malleable and able to slide around. Think mud slides or limestone erosions like the Grand Canyon and you get an idea of the energy of water moving over earth. Pluto in Capricorn is ruled by Saturn in moveable earth, Virgo right now. So while we normally think of Capricorn as rock solid mountains, on this particular issue and in this particular fight, Pluto will collapse easily. He’s going to collapse like a house of cards. Mars is going to be rushing strongly against soft, moveable, mutable Pluto in earth. That makes me put my money on Mars in this fight ~ while normally Pluto would get my $5 bet.

Fourth, two days before the New Moon, there are three MINI-eclipses, with Mercury, Venus and Neptune all occulting the Moon between 18 and 22 of Aquarius. When planets join with the Moon by declination degree, we feel it down here on earth, BIG TIME! If you remember the eclipse from February 6, there were changes from it in your life or the lives of the folks you know. Involved in that February New Moon eclipse on the North Node of destiny were Mercury and Neptune. We didn’t necessarily know what or where the eclipse was leading us BUT we knew were moving on! We had our vision of our life change ~ whether we wanted our life to change or not! Change is eclipses!

So this week, two of the three planets involved in the February eclipse, each have their OWN mini-eclipse with the Moon! It is only a month later! It means we get to have additional information revealed to us about the meaning and purpose of the eclipse. Venus managed to insert herself into the mix too ~ getting herself her own eclipse with the Moon in Aquarius. That means there will be at least three more distinct moments of clarity around the energy from last month’s eclipse and what it meant for your life.

The moments of clarity will be around what your desires, thoughts and dreams are. Isn’t it just like nature to resurrect yet another kind (actually three kinds) of understanding about the recent eclipse! You thought you had it all figured out and Voila! The universe comes and reveals something you had not seen AT ALL! All the reveals are for your good and growth. All the reveals are for your evolution and understanding. All the reveals are for your life to change and for you to move forward. That is the story with eclipse energy ~ to take leave or rise up. Or maybe a bit of both! At the same time.

Occultations of planets to the Moon while the Moon is in a balsamic phase screams out KARMA, KARMA, KARMA! Dark of the Moon combined with three mini-eclipses counts ALMOST MORE than a regular eclipse does in the sense of stirring up our emotions and getting our being, body and soul to rock and roll along our path. They certainly stir up big and very powerful emotions as they wake up the eclipse from last month. They wrap things up as they are in the 12th house of the lunation. Think of them as planets dropping into an interior karmic pond of profound emotions and carrying with them our loves/ desires/ money, understandings/ communications/ siblings, and losses/ disillusionments/ dreams, and desire for transcendence, illumination and merger with our true purpose. Remember Karma is the idea that the quality of people’s current and future lives is determined by their behavior in this and in previous lives. Karma is the destiny or fate you’ve created for yourself. So this week what you will see is a major Karma reveal of your purpose. And, yes, you DO have a purpose. You were born into a season to grow and accomplish some purpose here on Mom Earth.

Fifth, there are a few regular, garden-variety aspects, any of which could/ would be worthy of a couple of paragraphs in this column any other week! And, I am going to ignore them! Sun sextile Jupiter, Venus joining Neptune, Sun joining Uranus, and Mercury joining Neptune take place. And last but not least, there are a number of “earth” aspects taking place by declination suggesting we are in for a very big roller coaster ride.

So what to do during a week as important as this one? Well remember to breathe. Don’t over book yourself ~ you are NOT going to have the energy or time to take care of every thing that is going on. You’ll need your rest. You’ll need your space. Make sure to allow for pockets of both time and space in your life. You aren’t going to be able to emotionally process it all. Don’t even try to process it all! Let it wash over you like an incoming ocean wave does. Or perhaps dive head first into the breaking wave to break up the energy slapping against your body to move forward. Pay attention to what your dreams say as Neptune is very active. Pay attention to the side messages coming in from the world around. In a week like this, virtually all of the various kinds of communications you receive, whether direct or overheard are part of the set of data you’ll need to pay attention to. So if someone mentions a book and the next someone you meet mentions the SAME book, GO BUY THE BOOK! Especially note the side messages ~ the side messages are there to help you navigate the energy. The universe is sending you all sorts of signals, life rafts and support to get you through this week safe and sound. Trust the process.

Understand the purpose of the week is to move you towards the next chapter of your life. You are going to be fine. It is time to move on. You are ready. Or you are as ready as you will ever be. All of your life has led you up to this moment in time. It is part of your path. Perhaps even part your karma. You’ll understand what it was all for down the road a bit. So no despair. No sadness. Forward. You will be fine. You just have to get through the week, the day, the hour and at moments the minute. Breathe. Step by step. Process later. Show up now.

Monday, Mercury has cranky aspects with Pluto and Jupiter ~ expect communications to be a bit fraught with too much to do and not enough time to do it. Maybe even some power struggles over who does what. Make a list of your priorities. Encourage them to make a list of their priorities. Compare the lists. Strategy will start to work well very soon as Pallas enters the sign of Aries the warrior goddess. Use the shift in strategic energy to focus, envision and make a master plan to help you navigate the energy and leave the chaos of Pisces behind. Venus is in a blind spot approach, coming out of the 12th house, towards Uranus so make sure to double and triple look or check on things to not miss any thing important or precious to you particularly around money or financial issues. Sudden changes in fortune can take place ~ without a word of warning. The moon is void most of the day in Capricorn so you can work hard on moving projects along but it is best to avoid starting new things.

Tuesday, Mars leaves Gemini and enters Cancer which calms him down and causes him to focus a bit more. He’s not feeling nearly as scattered as he did yesterday. Yes, there is still a lot to do but it feels like there is either more time or more energy to do it in. Vesta, in charge of the nest you work in at home or the office, wants you to move stuff into places that work better for you. Moon in Aquarius is good for vision, leadership and big picture over views.

Wednesday we start to pick up the pace. Mercury joins with Chiron bringing wounding words or thoughts to consciousness and awareness. On days like this, it helps to remember that you are not perfect. You will never be perfect. Perfect is impossible so put perfect down. Focus on the process. Go with the flow. Mercury is in the same closing approach blind spot to Uranus that Venus was in on Monday so today double check all communications, messages, emails and paper work to watch out for problems. Sun joins with Pallas by declination so the strategy you started to work with on Monday actually helps you today. The three profound Mini- eclipses take place today. Watch the energy carefully to see what you see and what you learn about the eclipse from last month. Integrate it with September and June’s story from Uranus to work with creation, chaos, change and sudden revelations!

Thursday is quite hard even if it is productive. The aspects today are stressful and might be quite unpleasant. Or you can push them and help them move to higher versions of their form. Be warned, that might not be so easy to do. These are change aspects. Mars is pushing down on Pluto. You will or might be asked to part with or from something you’ve nurtured. Let it go. Pluto’s square to Pallas says the strategy got you this far, but it might not take you any further. That is okay. Let it go. Try a new strategy. Or just rest. Sun has a working aspect with Jupiter ~ push the energy and ask for what you need ~ you might get it. You might not. But you definitely won‘t get it if you don‘t ask. Venus is joining with Neptune so magic and creation can take place. That aspect can also mean money or love can dissolve and simply disappear like sugar does when stirred into water. Sun joins with Uranus so there are breakthroughs in consciousness ~ hopefully pleasant breakthroughs but if not, pay attention. How have you created the situation before you? What have you learned from it? Tears are a real possibility. Addictions can flare under the aspects of today.

Friday, Mars is opposite Pluto so the fight or flight energy is up and very active. Remember back to the earlier times of their first two oppositions in September and January. Remember everything can collapse like a house of cards if you push on it. Read the New Moon report on this site for more information on how to work with the energy of the lunation. You can’t go back. It isn’t back there any more. There is nothing to go back to. You can only go forward. That is how life works. Appreciate the precious moments of time in your life as they are never repeatable! Neptune squares Ceres so mothers and creative people are in mourning today for children lost, projects ended or things that were created coming to a conclusion. Tears are a real possibility. Addictions can flare up.

Saturn’s day Venus aspects Neptune again ~ bringing even MORE heightened emotions to bear on the situation from Thursday. Some days you have to feel your feelings and know that even if it feels like a part of you is breaking, out of that breaking part a brand new part will grow. It had to break to heal. Again there is a profound parting energy, including extra stuff from last month’s eclipse energy as Pluto pushes away Ceres by declination. There are no guarantees that what we birth, nurture, raise and grow into being will be with us forever. It is about the PROCESS of creation, not the end result of creation. We forget that part some times. Nature doesn’t guarantee us life. It does promise us process. It does promise us evolution. It does promise us experience. Nature does not promise us life. We have only a short time here on Mom Earth. It is a short time which we often fritter away with worry, despair or by not paying attention to what is truly important to us. You know what is important to you today.

Sunday Mercury joins with Neptune and moves us forward, as through a cloud of dreams or stream of tears toward the next part of our life and journey. The worst or hardest part is over now. We are on the other side of the energy. Venus is looking to partner with something new or different ~ inspirational perhaps. Read inspiring words. Meditate. Pray. Understand that after profound changes like the week we have behind us that we are never able to return to where we were before. It is no more. We are. Forward. The evolution of the cycle has spun. A new journey beckons.

Cosmic Calendar, Monday March 3rd ~

As mentioned in yesterday's calendar entry, there is a long void lunar cycle in Capricorn going on today that concludes this evening at 8:26PM PST. The usual rule of thumb during one of these cycles is that you should be much more focused on completing old business than starting any bold, new ventures. You may also want to keep a low profile and avoid making key decisions that could boomerang in the future. Nevertheless, the Moon is still meandering through Capricorn territory and there's no reason why you can't zero in on finishing recently begun projects on a high note. Arts, crafts and hobbies can give you a lift. Asteroid watchers should note that Pallas leaves the last degree of the zodiac (30 degrees of Pisces) as it enters fiery Aries (6:23PM PST) until May 20. Pallas is associated with mental brilliance, inventiveness, strategy sessions, seeing patterns that other people don't see (like Chessmasters), embroidery, quilting, and needlepoint design, the genetic code, DNA and the immune system. Aries - in medical astrology - connects with the head and brain. Therefore, powerful forces are being unleashed tonight that can transform your intellectual prowess and allow you to receive extraordinary insights. By 8:26PM PST, the Moon enters service-oriented Aquarius. Team sports and community events are highlighted during the next two days. Tap into the power of positive thinking in tandem with a Moon-Jupiter parallel (9:26PM PST). Gear up for some big changes on Tuesday as Mars re-enters Cancer(2:02AM PST tomorrow) following its 63-day fling through airy Gemini.

Thanks for the bumpsie, Mel

Cosmic Calendar, Tuesday March 4th ~

Emotional waters are being stirred up again. As indicated in yesterday's remarks for the Cosmic Calendar, the red planet Mars splashes back into Cancer's zodiacal pool of energy following a 63-day excursion in airy Gemini (2:02AM PST). If this seems familiar, it's because Mars was already in watery Cancer from September 28 to December 31 of last year. Therefore, you may want to re-invigorate projects and activities from the closing months of 2007 now and over the next few weeks as Mars will remain in this key sign of home, domestic life, and family matters until May 9. In the meantime, the Moon in Aquarius points you toward investing time and effort in humanitarian causes or global movements that appeal to your idealism. Egocentric attitudes bite the dust right now in favor of joining in group projects of team sports where the whole is more important than the individual. This is amplified by a major alignment this evening when Mercury merges its influence with Chiron in Aquarius (9:37PM PST). This conjunction may also seem familiar since it already happened in January and February when Mercury was going through a temporary tailspin in Aquarius. Tonight's union of these two celestial bodies is their final convergence for almost precisely a year. Not only does this liaison enhance spirited and lively communications, but the entire field of holistic healing is strengthened. Soul-searching, meditation and metaphysical studies are highlighted. Get set for a terrific morning on Wednesday although another long void lunar cycle is waiting in the wings as well.

Cosmic Calendar, Wednesday March 5th ~

Be an eager beaver during the morning hours since a void lunar cycle clocks in by 1:47PM PST (lasting until 2:54AM PST on Thursday). Nevertheless, you can make enormous progress in the early hours as the Moon in Aquarius conjuncts Chiron (5:27AM PST), Mercury (6:08AM PST), and Venus (11:11AM PST). Each one of these unions can be utilized to uplift your spirits and give you a new sense of self-confidence across the board. Love vibrations increase in frequency - courtesy of the monthly Moon-Venus rendezvous. Business negotiations may also seem more promising this morning. Two other gifts from the gods arrive with a flourish at 8:52AM PST (Mercury connecting with Uranus by a 30-degree link) and 10:47AM PST (the Sun parallel to Pallas). The Mercury-Uranus engagement may seem minor, but it still has the capacity to electrify your thinking. The Sun-Pallas encounter - similar to a conjunction in the zodiac - suggests that great benefits can occur through your having a strategy session with a trusted friend or adviser. Ingenious ideas abound. The strange hours begin at 1:47PM PST when the Moon makes its monthly union with far-out Neptune. Normally, this association can ignite your creative imagination and quest for answers to religious and spiritual questions. However, this Moon-Neptune alliance begins a void lunar cycle that won't conclude until the lunar orb enters Pisces at 2:54AM PST on Thursday. You can still enjoy photography, film and video work, poetry, music and dance, but stay reasonably objective and steer clear of making crucial decisions. Enjoy reading or watching a sci-fi classic tonight.

Cosmic Calendar, Thursday March 6th ~

The cosmos is becoming more agitated and volatile as we move toward the next New Moon. This coming solar-lunar embrace does not occur until tomorrow morning. However, all kinds of celestial fireworks are about to go off. Adding to the intensity are a Pallas-Pluto square from Aries to Capricorn (9:20AM PST), a Sun-Uranus parallel (4:18PM PST), and an extremely intense Mars-Pluto polarity (exact at 1:06AM PST on Friday). All three of these alignments can jangle the nerves of millions around the globe. By expecting the unexpected, you put yourself back in the driver's seat and - potentially - out of harm's way. Pushing the envelope in almost any sphere of activity is asking for trouble. On the other hand, there is plenty of good news as well. The Moon enters sensitive, psychic and nurturing Pisces (2:54AM PST) following a lengthy void cycle in Aquarius. Then a trio of favorable influences manifest as the Sun makes a supportive, 60-degree link to Jupiter (11:05AM PST), Venus unites with Neptune in Aquarius (4:04PM PST), and the Moon makes its monthly conjunction with Vesta in Aquarius (6:28PM PST). The Sun-Jupiter rapport can reinforce the power of positive thinking and expand your consciousness into new and exciting vistas. It can also coincide with improving your financial situation as good fortune seeks wider entry into your life. The Venus-Neptune union can strengthen romantic bonds, but you do need crystal clear communication in matters of the heart. The Moon-Vesta tie reminds you to protect your assets and review your investment strategy. You may want to be more of a hermit this evening in concert with the approaching Mars-Pluto joust that arrives early on Friday. A mineral bath, whirlpool treatment or hot-tub session fits in well with the Piscean Moon vibrations tonight.

Cosmic Calendar, Friday March 7th ~

Stop, look and listen! World are colliding as the feisty red planet Mars in Cancer opposes its underworld cousin Pluto in Capricorn (1:06AM PST). Here's another solar systemic encounter that may seem oddly familiar. That's because it also occurred on January 2 - possibly affecting or afflicting the start to your new year's enterprises. It's hard to sugarcoat this volatile opposition in which Mars and Pluto are in a testy tug of war in the heavens while the Earth is caught in the crossfire. The main advice is to simmer down, make sure you stay cool and calm in debates and meetings, and be the picture of human kindness across the board. Projecting anger onto well-meaning friends and family members is taboo. It is possible that you can tweak this alignment to some extent - allowing you to understand the deeper motivations of dear ones and colleagues. Adding to potential confusion and chaos this morning are a Ceres-Neptune square from Taurus to Aquarius (3:25AM PST) and a Vesta-Saturn contra-parallel (9:22AM PST). Maintain a high-level of productivity in your key fields of expertise and say no to sales of the century and pie-in-the-sky business deals offering something for nothing. What can get you back on track is the New Moon - energizing 18 degrees of Pisces at 9:15AM PST. The usual, human response to a New Moon is to develop a gung-ho attitude that can't be stopped - at least for many hours or a couple of days. The problem here is that you reach another peak of excitement and stimulation as the Moon conjuncts Uranus in Pisces (11:05AM PST), but this union starts a void lunar cycle that lasts until 6:24AM PST tomorrow. Pull in the reins somewhat this afternoon and evening. It is still fine to become a computer geek and high-tech explorer, but it's better to go with the flow than starting up costly and time-consuming business ventures.

From Lisa Dale Miller:

New Moon in Pisces
Friday, March 7, 2008
9:14am PST, 12:14pm EST, 17:14 GMT/UT
17º Pisces 31’

This year, the Pisces New Moon features a celestial contest to determine which jam-packed constellation will be most influential:
transcendent, blissful Sun/Moon/Uranus in Pisces or Venus/Neptune/Mercury/Chiron/North Node in “wake up or else” Aquarius. Add the hard-nosed intensity of Pluto and Jupiter in “show me reality” Capricorn, and the compassionate action of Mars in Cancer, and we’ve got ourselves a New Moon ripe for direct revelation of these most basic, yet paradoxically intertwined truths:

We are nothing and everything; full and empty. All dualistic existence is interconnected and sourced in that which abides beyond duality. We can actively awaken to this realization of essential connectedness through the relinquishment of hatred, fear, violence, and greed. This and each successive moment presents an opportunity to choose love and peace.

Can you feel the waves of peace building all around us? People are actually serious about accepting nothing less than peace; nothing less than radical change. Aquarius and Pisces are combining to foster unconditional love, total compassion, and absolute oneness. It is time to break down the walls of separation; walls built with hatred, suspicion, and ignorance. Humans are duty-bound by our awareness of suffering. It is time to lift the Neptunian/Piscean veil of denial from our eyes and see how we are all responsible for the continued violence, hatred and suffering in this world.

This is the New Moon to practice compassion and selflessness by radiating peace and calm through prayer and meditation. Pisces acknowledges our essential connectedness and realizes it through the practice of unconditional love and unwavering compassion. To help you practice, feel free to download my metta (lovingkindness) meditation recordings. Here is the link: www.lisadalemiller.com/metta.htm

So many times clients ask astrology or tarot to reveal their life path; their true reason for being here. The answer is really the same for us all. We are all here to learn to love unconditionally, and to work for the collective enlightenment of all sentient beings, no matter how hard it may be or how long it may take.

The Piscean journey is a homeward bound one; an evolutionary ending of sorts. Ultimately, Pisceans are embodied in order to embrace the letting go of self-identification through learning to love unconditionally. Those who can commit their lives to working for the upliftment of all other souls are our everyday Bodhisattvas. Pisces is Bodhisattva consciousness embodied in self-sacrifice. Pisces’ bottom line is to learn to love unconditionally, and to work for the collective enlightenment of all sentient beings; no matter how hard it may be or how long it may take. This is the New Moon to commit to growing up and out of selfishness and hatred. Transcendence comes in many forms, but the first step is accepting personal responsibility for the condition of your life and the lives of all other sentient beings.

This is the New Moon to look at what you cling to. We come here with nothing and we leave with nothing. Why then do we hold so tight to things that will not last? What can you give away? What can you share? The world needs your generosity, your caring, your compassion, and your love. Since Pisces rules direct experience of transcendence, this is a great New Moon to commit to a daily meditation practice. Think of it as a gift to set aside time each day to meditate and find the source of inner peace that resides within. This is the New Moon for spiritual awakening!

On this New Moon, use some of your ritual time to consider what destructive thoughts, emotions, and actions can be released. Pisces is the sign of endings: of letting go for good. Take a hard look at whatever pain you are holding on to; especially if it involves addiction of any kind. Neptune and Pisces rule confusion, denial, addiction, codependence and an inability to hold good emotional boundaries. This is the New Moon to commit to sobriety. Drugs and alcohol are an easy, but ultimately destructive, veil between you and reality. There is no easy way out of fear and problems. Having the courage to face difficult issues and find solutions can be done, but only with a clear mind. Use the following two weeks as the Moon waxes to full to seek out self-help groups like AA, NA, Smart Revcovery or AL-A-NON/AL-A-TEEN/CODA for families of addicts. This goes for all addictions including food, abuse, overwork, and gambling.

Every emotion you have is sourced in your mind and mediated primarily through the production of neurotransmitters and enzymes in the brain. Thankfully, the human body is wired so we feel our emotions in the heart. But actually the quality of what we feel rests solely with how the brain’s synaptic and neuronal pathways are wired. The good news is the brain is plastic. So mindfully attending to the quality of our thoughts, feelings and interactions activates the medial pre-frontal cortex—the seat of compassion, empathy, morality, calm, and depth of intention—thereby rewiring the brain.

Therefore, this is the New Moon to look within and take care of your anger. If we waste our lives holding onto anger, resentment, and hatred, we will continue to create a world that reflects our own inner violence. The hatred and anger in our hearts is helping to feed the violence all over the world. So what can we do to stop the senseless killing we see all around us? We can all begin by acknowledging our anger and pain, taking it into our arms like a baby, wrapping it in compassion and letting love work its healing magic. Know that none of us are defined solely by our pain.

Find the true self in the compassionate heart and create the conditions for peace to grow within and without. Then look outside of yourself to your partner, your parents, your children, your friends, your co-workers, your supposed enemies. Look at their pain; acknowledge your part in causing them to suffer. Wrap them up like a baby with your compassion, allowing love to work its healing magic. Go to them; tell them how sorry you are. Realize that what is done to one is done to all, and create the conditions for peace to grow all around you.

Commit to changing your behavior. When you are faced with anger, acknowledge your suffering, but don’t act upon it. Look within and breathe, let your breath work its magic upon your anger, giving you time to form an appropriate response. When you do something that makes someone else angry, acknowledge your actions, apologize as quickly as possible, and make room to listen to the other person express how much they suffer. This is the language of selflessness. Give up the label of victim and embrace your own part in continued violence. It is the first step to becoming a peacemaker. If you fearlessly open your heart and let compassion be your guide, you will automatically become an active peacemaker. Love is the language of selflessness. If each of us would practice this language daily, violence would surely end.

With Venus/Neptune/Mercury/Chiron/North Node in Aquarius we each need to place ourselves on astrological high alert for disconnected behavior within and without. We must learn to mindfully practice loving, caring, and compassionate acts toward ourselves and each other. It is time to bring in the lost ones, the alienated ones and the tired ones with a hug, with a smile, and a gentle touch. This is the way of Pisces, the compassionate healer. These planets also call for a new global (Aquarian) vision of oneness based upon peaceful surrendering of egoic needs. This certainly applies to fundamentalist ideations of all stripes. Violence, grandiosity and hatred in the name of any god are a throwback to the reptilian part of the human brain that lives in fear. It is time we all say NO to the devolved Piscean illusion of god as savior and master, and YES to the evolved Piscean transcendent god within—the higher functioning pre-front lobe—that is calm, thoughtful, joyous and respectful.

The New Moon in Pisces is the time to recognize that boundaries and distinctions are not real. They are the work of Maya; the great illusion of duality. Global healing and peace are not only possible, but can be a reality. What a night to enter powerful states of mind through meditation and trance, in order to heal the massive suffering on our planet. This is not some kind of magical thinking. This New Moon is our chance to begin doing at home what must be done globally.

Heal your life and you will make a great contribution toward healing this world. Open your heart, let compassion be your guide and become an active peacemaker. Don’t be afraid to do the work of loosening your attachment to self-identification. Love yourself by loving others. We are all in this together, and together we can do the impossible. Cosmic Calendar, Saturday March 8th ~

There's no need to be a total early bird this morning as the Moon in Pisces remains void until 6:24AM PST (when the lunar orb switches allegiance and enters fiery Aries). After this moment, the collective mood changes from introspection to extroversion. Now before getting on board a roaring locomotive of Aries-like dynamism and independence, you may want to analyze dreams and visions due to a Venus-Neptune parallel (3:29AM PST). Inspirations can pour in since the Moon is also making its monthly union with Pallas in Aries (9:14AM PST). You can be high up on the learning curve in a wide variety of educational fields and topics. The main alignment of the day arrives at 12:20PM PST when the Sun makes its annual union with Uranus in Pisces. There's an anything-goes type of feeling when the solar life force mixes it up with the planet of revolution, rebellion, and radical change. Surprises and shock waves are pervasive. If you can anticipate the unexpected ahead of time, you will be that much more prepared when it shows up on your doorstep. Uranus so active also means that high technology, computers, the multi-media, science and mathematics, astrology and metaphysics draw you like a magnet. What is occult and arcane can suddenly appear without warning. If you don't like instability and uncertainty, brace yourself for their stronger-than-normal presence across the board. Whether you are excited about the future or fear it, stunning breakthroughs in consciousness often materialize on a day like today. Your psychic sensitivity gains strength tonight as a Mercury-Neptune union in Aquarius approaches (exact at 12:54AM PST on Sunday).

Cosmic Calendar, Sunday March 9th ~

Just prior to a switch to daylight savings time in many places, a Mercury-Neptune conjunction happens in Aquarius (12:54AM PST). Do you recall what occurred in your life on January 22 and February 2? The same celestial configuration appeared on those dates. With this third convergence, you have one more golden opportunity to see the world and events from a more exalted and spiritual perspective. For several hours - at the very least - extraordinary dreams, visions and realizations are more the rule than the exception. However, most mortals on Planet Earth can't live on the refined Neptunian planes of consciousness for very long and the Moon in feisty Aries can coincide with an air of competition while you are fully awake in the morning and afternoon hours. Get back on the exercise track or enjoy the fun and games that are a part of your favorite sport. Fashion, style and beauty interests wax in power - courtesy of a Venus-Juno supportive 60-degree alignment (5:57AM PDT). Keep your productivity moving along at a high level while Mercury squares Ceres (12:23PM PDT). This liaison also functions as a reminder to review and possibly alter your diet. Music and dance can keep you busy tonight as the Moon makes a supportive sextile link of 60 degrees to Neptune (9:16PM PDT). Literary and educational endeavors are in the spotlight later on when the Moon makes the same alignment to Mercury (11:02PM PDT). Get ready to put some ambitious plans into action Monday and Tuesday as the Moon enters earthy Taurus.

Weekly Weather March 10, 2008
By Anne Ortelee

It is time to follow our desires and thoughts to where they lead us. It is time to move towards creating our future! This week Venus and Mercury both join up with the North Node in Aquarius. They enter into a marriage and union with the North Node. As they do that, they will move us along our soul’s path. Both Venus and Mercury recently emerged from their cosmic bath and immersion into divine and heavenly union with Neptune. Joining Neptune helped to ignite both Venus’ and Mercury’s dreams of their future and their possibilities. Neptune does that to a planet!

Neptune always puts a soft, luminous glow on everything~ kind of a cosmic airbrush of sorts that makes every thing glowie and gorgeous. When Neptune is around, there are No Problems. No Flaws. No Troubles. No Issues. Pure Potential. The Dream. The Beauty. The Desire. The Yearning. The soul‘s possibilities are limitless. Flaws are absent. Crystal clear and luminous, Neptune glosses up everything it touches with sparkle and magic.

Venus with Neptune allows us to the see the gorgeous and glorious possibilities, without the flaws, problems or nicks in the surface. No dents in the new car door of our life so to speak. Mercury with Neptune allows us to believe that all things are possible, probable even, disagreements will dissolve like sugar does in hot water, and our minds will meld, blend and find unity in thoughts. That sort of stuff is Neptune’s normal!

Now, we ALL know we live down here on Planet Earth, complete with flaws, problems, arguments and pimples. However, FOR A BRIEF TIME, maybe only a day or so, we are all going to be basking in the possibilities of what can happen if we desire it and wish for it fervently. The dream or idea is what inspires us to move towards things we desire. We want a true and lasting love. We desire a higher or more connected form of community. We wish our job was more interesting each and every minute. We crave a partner who is fascinating all the time. We want to transcend ourselves. We want to transcend our lives. We seek transcendence in and from our mundane world. This week, for a very brief and shining moment, we may actually be able to do so…. Venus and Mercury are carrying Neptune’s energy, like perfume wafting behind them, transcending you into the North Node of your soul’s destiny. Pretty cool eh? Enjoy as it doesn’t last long…. And Saturn will be knocking on your door soon!

And, Pallas Athena has a bi-quintile aspect to the South Node to show us a smart and strategic way to LET GO of what ever is holding us back from achieving our dreams, finding and evolving us towards our purpose or meeting up with our destiny. We often hang onto things past their expiration date ~ relationships, clothes, jobs, partners, friends. They served a purpose. They were an important part of our lives. But now, we are somehow different and desire or need different things for the next part of our journey. We are grateful for them yet ready to release them and move on. We want to free our arms to embrace our future.

We forget in the hustle and bustle of our daily days that we incarnated to do a particular job. We are literally a bit of the heavens, star dust so to speak, traveling around on earth. We are in form and body here, on earth, carrying our cosmic snapshot, or horo-scope, a picture of the hour we were born, around with us. We interact with other cosmic incarnations that carry THEIR horo-scopes and cosmic purpose in their beings. We enact and live our horoscope every minute of our life. We are our charts. We have a purpose. We are born into a season of life ~ based on our Sun’s sign ~ to help the universe create. We are creation. We are co-creators. We carry our personal version of the solar system around with us, doing, living, breathing, working, loving, crying and hoping. We are the hands, hearts, hopes, minds and bodies, so to speak, of the stars. We act out their descriptions of universal intent each and every day as we live our chart.

So it is a Venus and, to a lesser extent, Mercury kind of week. Venus has a bunch of aspects after she dives into the North Node of destiny. Mercury follows her lead and he has quite a few aspects too. So focus on communicating your desires, dreams, wishes, loves, hopes and values.

Monday Venus immerses herself into the North Node as the crescent moon moving through late Aries and early Taurus forms flowing, productive, positive and creative aspects with 6 of the 9 planets in the sky. There are not many days nicer than today all year, (except maybe tomorrow.) Use today to start or move to the next step on all the dreams you’ve got in your heart and head. You may not be able to build your dream solarium ~ but sketch it out. Start it. Get a notebook for your screenplay. Type the title page and maybe the acknowledgement section of your book. Write your dream down and make a plan for the first step of it. Use the energy of the heavens to move things forward.

Tuesday Mercury is working with Juno and Neptune to talk to you about partnerships and relationships ~ what do you feel about them? How do you work in them? What is your preferred role? Their usual role? What skills do both of you have to offer? What part of the partnership needs to shift or change to accommodate the growing or declining needs of the relationship between you and your partner? Part of Juno’s job is to ensure that partnerships have a clear and concise path, know focus, and solid understanding as well as to preserve and protect the existing relationships from external forces. Neptune with Mercury suggests you need some clearer boundaries with the ideas you are doing with partners. Remember partners can be any one you are engaged in a face to face relationship with ~ even your accountant counts! It is any one you sit across from a table with and work as an equal with to tackle a situation, solve a problem or accomplish something. We often think romantic but this can be ANY kind of partner.

Wednesday Venus enters Pisces and immediately softens her focus, lowers her voice to a whisper and smiles seductively at the world. In the sign of her exaltation, Venus is able to get the other guy or gal to do just about anything she asks them to do. She makes it seem so easy, desirable and wonderful. Why would you even consider doing something else? Heck you’d volunteer as it looks like such fun. Know that Sun is in a blind spot approach to Neptune. So even if it LOOKS like a wonderful opportunity ~ and it may very well be the best you‘ve seen to date ~ recognize you are not seeing some part of the deal very clearly at all. Venus is seducing you while Sun is in a blind spot to Neptune. Mercury enters into the realm of the North Node saying it is time to move on with your communications and resolve the matter to the best possible version available. I encourage you to take the deal offered today as it probably won’t get any better. And, part of the reason to take the deal is to get you moving down your path towards your next experience. So say yes ~ with an open heart ~ and trust that Venus has your back even as Sun says there is a trick or blind spot you are not seeing.

Thursday, Venus has an earth aspect with the North Node, joining it by declination. Pallas, the strategic energy, is focusing on a bi-quintile with the South Node. That aspect says whatever the sweetener in the deal is ~ you probably aren’t going to get much use out of it. But the sweetener brought you to the table. You want the sweetener ~ or think you do any way. The sweetener got you here. So sign already! Forward. Time is wasting, passing you by. Oh that last part threw you eh? Saturn is in a hard aspect to Pallas ~ requiring adjustment to your strategy. You THINK you need it! You think you need the sweetener to go forward. Actually, you have everything you need WITHOUT the sweetener. You don’t believe it or know it yet. You aren’t there yet. So take the sweetener. Say yes to it. Own your desire for it. Often we are tempted or lured by something that we don‘t actually end up wanting or needing. But it is there and who among us says no to “free gift” even if we don’t need the “free gift” or could buy our own if we really wanted it. You don’t believe you can give yourself the sweetener yet. You can. But you don’t believe it. So take their sweetener instead.

Friday, Venus is arguing with Saturn in an earth aspect. Finances and how you are valued comes front and center as Venus builds to her opposition to Saturn tomorrow. It might not be as valuable as you want. It might cost more than you thought it would. It might be more expensive than you anticipated. Remember back to fall when Venus and Saturn couldn’t get enough of each other. Well, now they are seeing each other clearly. Neither version is wrong. Both versions are correct. The world is multi-dimensional. You can see the flaws and problems now, based on what you’ve learned and experienced since last fall. All part of the energy of today and tomorrow. Mars has a working aspect with Saturn so he’s pushing on Saturn to DO SOMETHING already. Take the chance. Try it out. Do keep in mind that Mars is still in his shadow from his retrograde journey and still out of bounds. He also is in kind of whiny and needy mode. I know, I don’t like it when he is like that either but some times the warrior god has a heartfelt and sentimental moment. Do you actually have to kill it off? Maybe you could learn to work with it in a different way? It isn’t all black and white after all ~ just various shades of gray. Mercury enters Pisces and loses a bit of his edgy sharpness of thought as diving from 20,000 feet into the ocean can be a bit disorienting. Listen to your feelings. It is hard to put into words what your thoughts are today.

Saturn’s day, Pluto reminds us that he helps Ceres create everything on the earth with recycled goods. We grow, we bloom. We wither. And then we return to his world to be recycled. He’s got an aspect pointing out the loss, wither and return to him part of the story today! Well, maybe that is overstating it a bit. But it is that circle of life story. You know, that song from the Lion King? Emotions can be rather high and tears may flow today. Moon in Cancer is feeling quite sensitive as she opposed Jupiter. Might be a good day to pore through old documents and papers. Or perhaps to write a letter to an old friend or family member. Your feelings are going to be profound and deep. Poetry is called for ~ so here is some from Elton John.

From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done

Some say eat or be eaten
Some say live and let live
But all are agreed as they join the stampede
You should never take more than you give

In the Circle of Life
It's the wheel of fortune
It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle, the Circle of Life

Some of us fall by the wayside
And some of us soar to the stars
And some of us sail through our troubles
And some have to live with the scars
There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps the great and small on the endless round

In the Circle of Life
It's the wheel of fortune
It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle, the Circle of Life
On the path unwinding
In the Circle, the Circle of Life.

[theme song from The Lion King]

Sunday will be a lovely day. Venus trines Mars as Mercury has an earth aspect with the Nodes of destiny. Venus is in the blind spot of seeing how what she partners with is what she creates but that is perfectly okay. Venus is moving forward. She’s charming. She’s happy. Contentment for the time being. Venus is talking Mars into doing her bidding. And Mars are happy to do it. He’s been so bogged down since last fall with all the stuff he had to redo, revisit or revise that he wasn’t moving forward. Now, while he doesn’t much like having to take care of things, he is, at least, moving forward again. Soon he’ll be free of all this family and emotional drama and be creative again. Mercury is off swimming in the North Node ~ not saying much but maybe humming a tune and working on envisioning his dreams. Chipper. Humming. Spring is coming in a few days. Partner with cleaning your home to get ready.

Mundane: People keep asking me who I think will be President. I am looking for a Capricorn/Aquarian mix. We are entering hard times ahead and we need a steady hand on the steering wheel of state. There is a huge, huge, HUGE aspect on Election Day in the states ~ Saturn opposite Uranus to the minute ~ 18:57 Virgo/Pisces.

The opposition in the sky wakes up the babies born in the 60s and the time when the aspect was exactly reversed ~ Uranus in Virgo and Saturn in Pisces. Back then, there were race, gender and sexual revolutions that changed the fabric of life here in the states. We now have two out of the three groups from the 1960s running for President ~ a black and a female. And, if you count the Republicans, there probably was a ‘closeted’ gay man among them ~ Romney perhaps? Rudy does like to cross dress and the drag queens were the initiators of the Stonewall riots on the evening of Judy Garland’s death.

I am not sure how to explain it, but I think the next President will not be any of the folks we are looking at right now. Or at least not for long. McCain, or Grampa, is about to have Saturn go over his Virgo planets. He’s looking a bit weary lately. Hillary has decent enough aspects but she is polarizing, coming off as shrewish lately around Obama’s efforts and doesn‘t have enough Capricorn or Aquarian planets to match what the country will be looking for. Obama declared for the President on a void moon so unless he has a void moon natally (which is possible); nothing should come of his Presidential bid.

I keep coming back to Michael Bloomberg in my head. Perhaps as Vice? And Bloomy then assumes the Presidency due to a problem or issue with the lead person on the ticket? Bloomberg does profit from the misfortunes of others with his 8th house Sun. His chart was active last June when I was looking for an indicator of who we might be getting as President. He changed from Republican to Independent. He changed from Democrat to Republican before running for and winning Mayor of New York. He recently said he was NOT a candidate for President. Might he be a candidate for Vice?

An Obama - Bloomberg ticket would address many of the issues that are “problematic” for Obama around the “experience” issue. Set it up as Obama the vision guy and Bloomberg the get it done guy. We are repeating the 1968 aspects when the assassinations of Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King took place.

Cosmic Calendar, Monday March 10th ~

There's a positive glow about this day that can give you that extra lift and oomph. The Moon in Aries forges a supportive 60-degree tie to Venus in Aquarius (4:10AM PDT). However, this begins a 5+ hour void lunar cycle that concludes at 9:15AM PDT when the Moon arrives in Taurus - the zodiacal sign of its exaltation. During the void time-period, you want to finish old business on a high note. After 9:15AM PDT, everything is coming up roses for a change of pace. A subtle and yet still very helpful, nurturing and success-oriented 40-degree link between Venus and Jupiter happens at 9:59AM PDT. If you want to pursue serious work that can lead to huge rewards down the road, then tap into a deep flow of energy while the Moon in Taurus makes a flowing trine to Pluto in Capricorn (10:55AM PDT) and Saturn in Virgo (3:44PM PDT). This produces a grand triangle in earth signs that can eventually pad your bank account. Discipline and perseverance are the dynamic duo that leads to practical achievements. Weather permitting Mother Nature is sounding a strong call to all outdoor enthusiasts. Even if it's too cold or uncertain to prepare your garden for a new growing season, there's no reason why you can't clean up the tool shed, buy seeds and potting soil, and look over planting guides. Don't allow stubborn attitudes and outmoded beliefs to downgrade your ability to make financial gains today and tomorrow. Hobbies, arts and crafts pull you into their orbit this evening.

Cosmic Calendar, Tuesday March 11th ~

In many ways, today is a carry-over from some of yesterday's terrific alignments. The Moon keeps plodding along in the sign of its exaltation - Taurus. This can translate into financial and business benefits showing up in your checking and savings accounts. Even though stock, bond and commodity markets may be extremely volatile, there are always techniques to stay out of the poorhouse. Learn more about national and international economics by reading newspapers and magazines that focus on strategies for making more money. Today's Moon-Jupiter harmonious trine in earth signs (2:00PM PDT) is the stellar counterpart to what has just been articulated. Gear up for a few surprises around the time of a Moon-Uranus 60-degree connection (4:21PM PDT). Later on, social and cultural activities are highlighted when Mercury in Aquarius sextiles Juno in Sagittarius (8:32PM PDT) and Mercury forms a parallel to Neptune (10:04PM PDT). The Mercury-Juno association can spark your interest in being more fashion-oriented and style-conscious. The Mercury-Neptune parallel magnifies the spiritual message that occurred early on Sunday when these two planets formed their third conjunction in the last two months. Meditation, yoga, tai chi and metaphysical studies are recommended. You can also be incredibly prolific in a beloved hobby, craft or art medium since the Moon is nearing its monthly union with Ceres (exact at 1:05AM PDT tomorrow). You may want to burn the midnight oil to take advantage of this surge in productivity.

Cosmic Calendar, Wednesday March 12th ~

While the monthly Moon-Ceres union in Taurus (1:05AM PDT) gives everyone a boost concerning productive output, this aspect dissipates fairly soon. Replacing it are lunar squares to Mercury (5:28AM PDT) and Venus (10:27AM PDT) - both sky patterns that can temporarily delay, frustrate or block business matters. In addition, the Moon-Venus face-off at 10:27AM PDT starts a short void lunar cycle that lasts until 10:55AM PDT and the beginning of Gemini Moon. Try to steer clear of initiating bold moves during the 28-minute void time-span. After 10:55AM PDT, you can be off and running in terms of classes, learning programs, communications, and travel plans. The main news of the day concerns Venus moving from airy Aquarius to watery Pisces (3:52PM PDT). Venus will remain in Pisces - where it has exalted qualities in terms of love, empathy and compassion - until April 5. Reach out to dear ones who are on the skids. Your goodwill, kindness and sensitivity can make all the difference in the world. Another in a string of Neptune alignments pops up this evening when the Sun makes a subtle and yet still important 30-degree rapport (6:29PM PDT) with the ancient ruler of the seas. Your creative imagination is triggered with fantastic stories, artistry and scientific projects starting to take shape in your mind's-eye. Prepare yourself for several days in a row when prominent celestial alignments will keep you on your toes.

Cosmic Calendar, Thursday March 13th ~

There's a need for you to stay focused on the work, tasks and assignments right in front of you. That's one of the cornerstones regarding the zodiacal sign Gemini and now the Moon is illuminating this segment of the zodiac. Helping enrich your intellect and five senses this morning is a highly stimulating Pallas-Uranus parallel (8:11AM PDT). These two celestial bodies were very close together for much of 2007 and now they are reunited in electrifying your thought process. Games like chess and backgammon can help to sharpen your mental skills. Embroidery, sewing and quilt-making are other hobbies that connect with the power of Pallas. Romantic bonds receive a deep and potentially transformative boost as Venus links with distant Pluto via a supportive 60-degree alignment (12:08PM PDT). You can also utilize this time-period to tap into your artistic talents - some of which may still be lurking around, undiscovered, in your subconscious reservoir of creativity. The realms of holistic healing and alternative medicine are highlighted by the Moon's flowing trine to Chiron (6:05PM PDT) in air signs. Watch out for burnout and exhaustion this evening when Pallas in Aries makes an awkward, 150-degree contact with Saturn in Virgo (8:55PM PDT). Learn more about foods, juices, minerals and supplements that can strengthen your immune system. Get set for an emotional roller-coaster ride on Friday when many alignments and planets vie for supremacy.

Cosmic Calendar, Friday March 14th ~

Before you can enjoy a weekend that will be dominated by the Moon's presence in Cancer and strong alignments by Venus (to Saturn on Saturday and Mars on Sunday), you need to carefully maneuver through several upheaval-like sky patterns today. First of all, Venus forms an abrasive contra-parallel to Saturn (1:50AM PDT). This acts as a harbinger of tomorrow's more frictional Venus-Saturn opposition in the zodiac. Challenges can arise on the love and business fronts - forcing you to be more careful and cautious. A crisis atmosphere can surround the First Quarter Sun-Moon Phase (3:47AM PDT) - energizing 25 degrees of Pisces and Gemini. Hopefully, you can steer clear of sticky problems and manage your life and relationships with greater finesse. A woman's kindness and expertise may get you out a jam and point you in the right direction as Ceres makes a mentally-stimulating 72-degree aspect to Vesta (10:42AM PDT). A 14-minute void lunar cycle strikes from 1:25PM PDT to 1:39PM PDT. At the latter time, the Moon enters its natural abode of Cancer. You should now shift your main focus to handling domestic issues and family concerns. Hard work and determination are the winning combination when it comes to reaching professional aims as Mars in Cancer makes a supportive, 60-degree link to Saturn in Virgo (2:25PM PDT). When the two traditional malefic planets call a truce and behave with cordiality, you want to sit up and take notice. Mercury glides into Piscean waters starting at 3:47PM PDT and this cycle lasts until April 2. Your psychic powers are ready to skyrocket, so be more attentive to hunches and premonitions over the next few weeks. Keep your distance from people prone to bouts of temper this evening as the Moon unites with Mars (8:04PM PDT). If you can stay on track in your main fields of expertise, the universe will reward you as the Sun forms a 60-degree rapport with productive and nurturing Ceres (11:49PM PDT).

Cosmic Calendar, Saturday March 15th ~

If a wave of nostalgia strikes you this weekend, you are in good company. Millions of your fellow human souls are pining for the past, the good old days, and lost love or childlike innocence. The reason is that every 28 days, the Moon transits through its natural sign of Cancer. This zodiacal placement emphasizes the glories of decades past and forgotten periods of history. You can seize the initiative early on by visiting estate sales, flea markets or antique dealers. A Mercury-Pluto 60-degree alignment (10:10AM PDT) offers you stunning insights about a wide variety of subjects and it also sharpens your intellectual prowess. The main cosmic challenge clocks in at 1:18PM PDT when Venus in Pisces opposes Saturn in Virgo. The usual manifestation is that a loved one, friend or family member suddenly gives you the cold shoulder. Another possibility is that what you had hoped for in a primary partnership doesn't come to fruition or is falling flat rather than giving you pleasure. Of course, any celestial aspect can be tweaked into being more favorable and less harmful. One approach here is to cut down - temporarily - on spending. Another approach is to be more careful and cautious regarding a romantic liaison - at least until this Venus-Saturn polarity dissipates (within about a 24-hour time-period). In the meantime, you can still enjoy fun, games and possibly water sports for a change of pace. Movie madness, playing cards or cooking up a feast can all be antidotes for the moody blues this evening as the Moon in Cancer makes a flowing trine to stimulating Uranus in Pisces (10:45PM PDT). The love boat may be sailing into exotic waters late tonight - despite the earlier problems generated by Venus opposite Saturn. The reason for the shift is that Venus is approaching a harmonious trine to Mars (exactly occurring at 1:22AM PDT). Be more generous with hugs and kisses.

Cosmic Calendar, Sunday March 16th ~

Don't be too surprised if you wake up in a better mood than yesterday. Why? The Venus-Saturn polarity is behind you and a much more nurturing Venus-Mars trine in water signs has taken its place. One cannot overestimate the importance of positive and upbeat Venus-Mars alignments. That's because Venus is the key planet of feminine interests while Mars is the main celestial body designating masculine concerns. Together - and in a good, working relationship - their rapport can be a godsend for enhancing your creative artistic talents and establishing a firmer foundation for an important romantic bond. Your psychic sensitivity can be as high as a kite during a Sun-Moon flowing trine (11:59AM PDT). However, the bloom may be off the rose for several hours thereafter due to a void lunar cycle lasting until 6:05PM PDT and the arrival of fiery Leo Moon. Now the 6+ hour void time-span should be spent finishing old business instead of launching bold ventures. Once you reach 6:05PM PDT, come from the heart in vital sharings. Take a good look at your investments since Vesta parallels Juno (9:17PM PDT), Mercury makes a frictional, 45-degree link to giant Jupiter (10:41PM PDT), and Mercury also nears its annual opposition to Saturn (happening exactly at 2:48AM PDT on Monday). Therefore, all things considered, you need to be very conservative during the evening hours and form a realistic game-plan for dealing with key business matters as Sunday morphs into Monday and the start of a new workweek.
