Tom Cruise is an American actor and film producer.
Cruise is known for his criticism of psychiatry, and for his support of Scientology, which has attracted controversy.

He also has a history of Dyslexia.

"When I was seven, I was labeled dyslexic. I'd try to concentrate on what I was reading,and then I'd get to the end of the page and have very little memory of anything I read. I would go blank,feel anxious,nervous,bored,frustrated,dumb.
I don't want people to go through what I went through. I want kids to have the ability to read,to write,to understand what people are saying to them,to be able solve life's problems."

Tom Cruise became a Scientologist and discovered the 'Study Technology' developed by L. Ron Hubbard ,and it helped him realize that he could learn absolutely anything that he wanted to learn. He is the founding member of the Hollywood Education And Literacy Project,a non-profit group that uses Hubbard's teaching techniques in a secular setting.

'Dys' means 'difficulty' and 'lexia' means 'words'. Dyslexia is a disorder that affects millions of people all over the world,influencing their ability to read. A dyslexic learns at his/her own level and pace, and typically excels in one or more areas. Some of their experiences include difficulties with concentration,perception,memory,verbal skills,abstract reasoning,hand-eye co-ordination,social adjustment(low self esteem is a commonly observed behavioral characteristic),poor grades,and underachievement. Often,people with dyslexia are considered to be lazy,rebellious,class clowns,unmotivated,misfits,or of low intelligence. These misconceptions can lead to rejection,isolation,feelings of inferiority,discouragement,and low self esteem.

I checked out Pallas in regards to Dyslexia - I read that Pallas in challenging aspects can be an indicator for Dyslexia in Marcia Starck's Healing For the 21st Century Medical Astrology book and read the same from other astrologers that use asteroids.

I checked out Eris in regards to Dyslexia because its moon,Dysnomia is also the name of a word retrieval condition that is connected to Dyslexia. I also checked Eris for advocacy, stirring stuff up, controversy, and ideology. It's interesting that Tom Cruise's getting into a controversial religion helped him remediate his Dyslexia,and that inspired him to be an education/literacy advocate. His statements about Scientology helping him with his Dyslexia really stirred up stuff with International Dyslexia Association. Of course,he made controversial rants against psychiatry that included talking about the dangers of medications for AD/HD which is a condition that tends to be comorbid with Dyslexia. A lot of thing that he's a fanatic about Scientology and forces his beliefs on others.

“It is absolutely the perfect name,” Brown said, given the continuing discord among astronomers and the public over whether Pluto should have retained its planetary status.
In mythology, Eris ignited discord that led to the Trojan War.
“She causes strife by causing arguments among men, by making them think their opinions are right and everyone else’s is wrong,” Brown said. “It really is just perfect.”

Just a few days ago I was speaking with my aunt on the subject of dyslexia.

She told me that as a child, struggling to work out how to spell words, she would ask her family to help out and they would say: look it up in the dictionary. Not exactly helpful. She says she thinks maybe she is mildly dyslexic, because she still has some problems with reading and writing.

Also, probably fairly standard at this time, she was forced to write using her right hand. As soon as she left school she reverted back to nature - writing with her left hand.

I'm shaky on her birth details, possibly Moon Conjunct Eris, definitely Venus Square Eris.

BTW...Tom Cruise is the first of many golden section charts that I plan to post about. His Golden Section Triangles were very interesting,and so I thought I should post them. I saw some other famous people with golden section triangles and will post them. I noticed one president with Sun,Moon,Eris golden section triangle.

I was reading Theodor Landscheidt's article on the Planetary Nodes which inspired Zipporah Dobyns to research them and write the Node Book. In his article,he mentioned Golden aspects.
He mentioned that Golden aspects were 85'00 132'30,and 68.8 (68'48). It seems that he uses a 1 degree orb for them. He also mentions 137.5°, 68.8°, 47.5° and 34.4°. as part of golden divisions

The golden section divisions within cycles formed by the rotating earth may be considered a set of astrological aspects. The complete set emerges when we superimpose the two schematic diagrams in Figures 19 and 23, related to minor and major of the golden section, and compare all of those angles we find on the right and on the left of the origin 0°. Imagine that you are standing at the rising point R, or 0°, of the diurnal circle and are looking over to the setting point at 180°. Then the superimposed golden section divisions on your right form the set 21.25°, 42.49°, 47.51°, 68.75°, 111.25°, 132.49°, 137.51° and 158.75°. The angles 338.75°, 317.51°, 312.49° and so forth, on your left repeat the set on your right when subtracted from 360°. If we extend the fractal beyond the semicircle and include the quarter circle, the golden section operation generates the additional angles 34.38°, 55.62°, 124.38° and 145.62°. It is not an arbitrary procedure to divide cycles in halves and quarters. Observation shows that spectral peaks can appear at twice and four times the driving frequency, or at half or a quarter of it (Burroughs, 1992). Statistical tests indicate that the twelve golden aspects in the complete set are reliable.


The "Golden Ratio" is a number that crops up everywhere in nature (it's equal to about 1.618034), and has a certain "fiveness" about it. It seems to be inherently pleasing to the human eye - many public buildings demonstrate this ratio and it just "looks right".

It's tied in with the "Fibonacci sequence" - 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21... - where each number is derived by adding the previous two. The Fibonacci sequence crops up everywhere in nature - count the number of petals on a flower, and it's probably a Fibonacci number. The ratio between one Fibonacci number and the next gets closer and closer to the Golden Ratio.


Bernard Eccles saw them as something potentially very creative, but based this on the symbolism.
Leonardo da Vinci used them in his art and design.

Tom might be my favorite actor.

I empathize with him very much so.

I dont exactly know what scientology is. but I am with him in being against the practice of psychiatry and psychotherapy. I didnt even know of dsylexia.. hahah but i wouldnt be surprised if I have a mild case or had it when i was younger..

I like many of his movies.. the more emotional ones especially.. I wish I could have played some of his roles.. Im actually reading the script for jerry maguire and I just watched born on the fourth of july yesterday! Great Movie!

some idiot girl said I sounded like a mini- tom cruise because of what I was saying about my views on sexuality and the type of girl I want.. but I have no idea what she ment.

Glaucus, thanks for the work and your posts. Tom Cruise doesn't appeal to me at all, but it's really interesting to read your interpretation material regardless of who the person is!

One thing I wanted to mention is I have seen Cruise listed as a Virgo ascendant on various sites. So, I was just curious on how you determined the Scorpio ascendant.

I am with you. I empathize with him as a fellow Dyslexic(Dyspraxic,ADD too) who doesn't trust psychiatry because I was misdiagnosed myself. A lot of mental health professionals can't tell neurodivergent conditions from psychiatric conditions. That's why I created a petition to stop the misdiagnosing of neurodivergents. I share his belief about the drugging of ADHD children.

like him, my uncle was recommended to be medicated for his hyperactivity but his mother refused.


I also hate when neurotypicals judge neurodivergents when they are not in their shoes too. that irritates me the most.

not to mention.....there are people who have controversial beliefs,practices and they point fingers.

I practice Astrology and have Unitarian Universalist,New Age,and Neopagan beliefs. I feel that if I judge him, I will be like throwing stones while I am in a glass house.
I'd be a hypocrite imho.

psychiatrists are quick to medicate people and they do misdiagnose a lot. Many blacks don't trust psychiatrists. I am part black myself. Mental health reform is strongly needed.

Oh, okay. It is astrotheme and about.com's astrology section, plus a few others, that list the time as 12:05pm. It would be interesting to see which his biographers have listed. I like the idea of him having a Scorpio Asc as the grand trine including Sun and Asc plus Jupiter all in water "makes sense" - but that is only based on what little I know about him.

Bravo to his mother for not putting him on medication when he was a child.
