Does anyone have any knowledge they'd like to drop on relocation charts? I did mine for L.A., and I found it interesting. In it, all my angles are on an Aries Point. My ASC is at 0º Libra, which is the same degree as my Jupiter/Pluto midpoint. My Karma asteroid also sits there.

Has anyone moved and noticed that their personality/life matched their relocation chart? Or is this all hogwash?

Lately I've grown tired of my Scorpio ASC, so a Libra one is sounding very appealing to me right now. Not that I can actually move there, but thinking about it entertains me.

You certainly can.

Over at astro.com, it's one of their choices on the "Extended Chart Selection" page. It's the last choice of the "Circular Charts." (Remember to modify the ref. place for whichever location you want to see.)

Maybe we could all find the location that most appeals to us astrologically, and fellow knowflakes who live there can host us. Nothing unreasonable about that.

Thanks Jane.
I'm in process of selling my house to hopefully leave UK and move to NYC!
wow.. gives me gemini ascendant and puts everything in 11th.

So do you feel more in tune with your relocation chart then and how much different is it?
Funnily enough it gave me a MC of 0 deg too.

No, I feel more like my real chart.

It changes it quite a bit. All the planets move forward one house, except for Mars & Jupiter which move forward two houses.

What's the sign of your new MC?

Good luck with your move! NYC is my favorite city, but then I've never been to London (besides Heathrow).

Thank you

My MC is now 0'31 pisces with neptune in scorpio/6th. Must be something to the fact that my descendant is Aquarius and all my inner planets now move into 11th, Aqua's natural house whilst my pluto/uranus conjunct moves into 4th! Could mean 2nd home or freedom from all things to do with my home? That would be wonderful! lol

So l presume that relocation charts can be good for showing how one will handle living in a new place?

Yes, New York is a great place.. the total opposite of London, which is quiet and negative in energy.
I love it there and my b/f lives there.

May l ask why you particularly choose LA as a place to live?

You certainly can't.

Oh, I don't know. Probably residual interest in the place from watching "Beverly Hills 90210" as a kid.

The 11th is also about hopes & wishes, so NYC holds the potential for being a place where you can realize those.
As you alluded to, the link between your current DSC and the occupied 11th house makes a lot of sense since you'll be living with your b/f.

Pluto/Uranus in the 4th...hmm, maybe an unusual but deeply meaningful home life.

From cafeastrology http://www.cafeastrology.com/relocationreport.html

quote:
Horizons: Relocation Report reveals themes that you are likely to encounter when you relocate (or travel) to a new location.

A relocation chart is a natal horoscope moved to a different location. It's a chart cast for the same cosmic instant of birth, but looked at from another location, as if the birth happened there. The planets' sign positions all remain the same, but they will appear in different houses at different locations, thus altering their strengths and areas of influence. So, if you were born in New York, for instance, and then moved to Paris, your relocation chart would have any first house planets shifted about 90 degrees clockwise into the tenth house; tenth house planets would be shifted into the seventh house, and so on, thus giving your natal chart a whole new look for your Parisian adventures. In fact, if it turns out to be a significant improvement, you might even want to move there. Or, perhaps you might just want to visit when you are doing the kind of things that your Paris relocation chart favors -- work, play, health, creativity -- depending on your planets' relocated house positions.

You don't have to actually show up at a strong relocation place to have it affect you. You may well find that areas where you have locality planets, midpoints, transits, or progressions on the angles have a way of waltzing into your life unannounced, or that you'll find yourself dealing with people who live there in a way that is described by your chart in that locality. In the era of electronic world travel, you may not need to go out of your door to find your different relocation charts working for you.

You asked so I will give you my 2 cents. In my honest opinion...NO. Why? I lived there for over 10 years and I couldn't wait to leave. I have recently moved...clear across the united states (east coast). My life has never been better. People always ask me why in the hell did I move where I am vs LA? The answer I always give them is b/c it sucks, the people are rude as hell, lairs, fake, & manipulators, etc, etc. Now, I'm sure ur saying, "Geez this gurl must of had some pretty bad experiences". Nothing more than anyone else in life sure. But, I'm telling you this...I would never move back to LA if u paid me. Seriously. My suggestion, go there for a vacation & that's about it. Not trying to sound rude, but you don't know until u have experienced it. I have meet many people from other states that tell me about there friend that they grew up with that moved to LA and they became someone they don't even know anymore. I have met a lot of people that have moved there in the hopes for a better life that became lost souls and a former shell of the person they once where. Again, I'm not trying to offend anyone, just giving my opinion and u know what they say...opinions are like a$$holes and everyone has one.

Thanks, bushidogrl. Since I can't move there, it's nice to hear how much it sucks.

It did always seem like a sad, soulless city to me, with a lit of people who have broken spirits. I may not have lived there, but I have seen Mulholland Drive.

But I have recently become acquainted with someone who lives there. She's managed to remain true to herself and sees lots of benefits to living there, and made it sound pretty attractive actually.

I appreciate your response though. My instinct has always been that LA isn't the place for me.

If you have someone to live with I'd say give it a try. There is so much opportunity there. It's the best and the worst. It was the loneliest most hostile place I've ever been too but I didn't know anybody and I didn't have anywhere to live. Everybody you meet wants to fight. Even the well heeled in dresses. I've never had so many fights over parking places in my life.lol And you can't even swim in the cold a-s water! That's what blew me away. You see all these beach movies and you get there and it's so disappointing. All that said, there are a lot of things there that you won't find anywhere else. They have state of the art in a lot of things. But all in all I'd choose NY over LA any day. I found it to be just the opposite of what I'd heard all my life. People in NY treated me like a long lost friend.

Thank you for that info on relocation charts and 11th house Jane

I agree. LA is very fake and bitchy which is why l asked Jane why she particularly wanted to move there.

I spent 3 weeks in LA and the whole time l was the only brunette with real breasts lol
oh, and a brain that actually worked!

The fact you have to drive everywhere l found really annoying.

Jane, I agree with Bushi, et. al....LA SUCKS!!!!! I moved to Pasadena, a suburb of LA, when I was in my teens...I wasn't used to not having a relationship with, or even KNOWING my neighbors...
We were poor---which is a no-no ANYWHERE in "LA", and we didn't have a car....I didn't have "cute" clothes...we lived on the "poor" side of town...you get the picture! High School was such a downer for me...
More than 40 years later, I still hate LA & the people ARE superficial, & they DO suck!!!!!---Too close to Hollywood, I'm guessing.
So, LA is good for party-ing...that's it!!!!
For balance, peace of mind, & REAL people, go almost anywhere else.

Wow. I just did a relocation chart for a city I spent much of my childhood and young adult years in, and the changes are dead on. My moon moved to oppose my natally unaspected Jupiter, my Mars moved into my 9th house (from 10th), and my Sun-Venus conjunct moved into my 10th house (from 11th). My ascendant would be unquestionably Cancer. And if it matters, my 4th house Pluto which is conjunct my 5th house cusp would be tucked snugly in the 4th.

I checked my current city, and even though it is halfway across the world, the placements haven't changed much from my natal chart. My moon would be square my Saturn (6 deg orb), but many of the cautions/challenges are things I have absorbed and dealt with, and do not affect my life here. Interesting.

Sorry to hijack the thread! It just got me interested.

My boyfriend lives in the LA area, I think, well not in astrological terms, that it's an area where one can never really get bored. There are so many things to do if you like keeping busy and need excitement, much like I do.

Los Angeles is a Virgo, and Hollywood a Leo.
It definitely sticks out, if you can afford the expensive living costs in the city I say go for it! Don't forget to scope out surrounding cities and Orange County. Good luck!

re. Orange County & other cities in So. Cal...there tends to be noticeable racial segregation and, in some instances, a comfort level with overt racism that I don't find as often in the Bay Area...
--Don't even get me started on the lack of culture....

hey, I was bornin LA, lived in OC for undergrad and moved from OC to NY about 2 years ago for law school...

My Opinion --- I would not move to LA
OC is great, still has fakes, but not as bad as LA...

NY is better than both, but OC is more relaxed.

If you want to hustle / not sleep, NY is for yu

If you like the more relaxed life, OC is the way to go

Stay away from LA

; )

Thanks for your responses. I enjoyed reading your individual takes on LA.

Lara - "LA is very fake and bitchy which is why l asked Jane why she particularly wanted to move there."
Oooh! I'd fit right in.

What made my jaw drop about this chart is how my ASC is at 0º Libra, which is where my Jupiter/Pluto midpoint falls. I've read that Aries Point = Ju/Plu could indicate wealth. That certainly hasn't been my experience in life, but maybe having my ASC there too would kick-start the midpoint.

But I have commitments and responsibilities where I am now, so reality is in the way of testing the chart. *angrily shakes fist at reality*

artemisss - Very close. I'm not a Pisces but I do have a strong Neptune. Only a Neptunian would angrily shake her fist at reality.
Sometimes I feel like a Pisces in disguise as a Sag.

berryberry - Hijack all you want. I'm curious if people have found their relocation chart accurate, so I found what you had to say very interesting.

If anyone else has info to share about their experience with relocation charts, I'd love to hear it.

Oh my gooooodness.

So there's a certain city in Spain that my SO and I had an interesting experience in, something neither of us had experienced before. (No, not a dirty sanchez.) I'm too protective of the experience and my SO to describe it, but our relocation charts for that city are very revealing. (So I guess you can use your imaginations. )

The most significant placements in the relocation charts...
--We both have our Suns in our 12th house
--We both have our Moons in our 8th house (I also have my Mars, Jupiter, and NN there).
And I checked what the Composite ASC is -- 0º Aries. !!!

Wow. Things like this make me believe in astrology all over again.

Sorry to be so vague.

Hiya, Jane. I lived in Pasadena, LA, and the OC and I had a great time! I moved out there on a whim and didn't know anyone beforehand. In my relocation chart, I had a Pisces ascendant and the Sun in the 11th and Moon in the 5th. I was able to find plenty of culture because I was out and about constantly, and my friends were artists and musicians so they always knew what was going on. I loved Hollywood. Loved it! But I do have a Leo moon, so we have a bond, ya' know.

Was it perfect? Nope, but no place ever is. If you hang out at the shopping malls, you'll see plenty of fakes with plastic surgery and platinum cards. But, you can see those same types in shopping malls in every city if that's what you pay attention to. There is a lot more to that area than shopping malls, and it's a great place to be if you love live music or visual arts.

I hope you get the chance to check it out sometime on a vacation!

In my opinion all cities are potentially sh*tty places. Its also based on what you notice. perhaps you only remember bad things. You will always find more generous serene people in the country. but take it from me there is some crazy mofos in rural areas. and in the city you always get slighted.. I see it more racial then anything. I treat everyone equally. hell I might even act nicer to minorities but there is always a few who will give me sh*t because Im a different color. but god bless all the nicer people. another thing thats mildly annoying but funny is that everytime I go to a gas station the attendant happens to be middle eastern and doesnt have any clue on directions to anywhere.

I might move to Los Angeles someday. my relocation puts my ASC on Leo , MC in Taurus .. Jupiter 10th, Venus llth. Saturn, Uranus, Neptune Trine the MC which doesnt sound bad considering the reason I would move to LA.

Not to mention weather factors in alot.

for me I just dont want to be anywhere near cold weather.. it doesnt work for me at all.. its so inconvenient, hazardous uncomfortable, expensive and annoying.. gahh. i used to love snow when I was a kid and now I hate it. not to mention the weather prolly also factors in to people as a whole.. think of LA and the hotness.. all that hot blood stirring hahah you know people arent going to get along.. but New Yorks got the cooling effect. I guess that might be good for statistical social behavior among the melting pot.
