Nep/Sag/1st house in OP to Mer/Can/7th house, and Ven/Gem/7th house; SQ Jup/Lib/10th house , and Sat/Lib/10th house. Sun in Gem.

Am i destined to dream my life away? What can i do to help break myself from this? What other aspects can i look at for a counteraction?

much appreciated,
Pollie

Hi Pollie ~

Of course you're not "destined to dream your life away" I had a Gemini friend with Neptune in the 1st and she's the most unbelievably motivated go-getter you can imagine!! She has a Cancer Moon to add even more Watery-dreaminess.

Being more "grounded" is something one needs to apply effort to. Instead of thinking it can be "fixed" by "breaking yourself from this," why not work WITH the Neptune energies??

Cancer Mer/Tau Moon

Sun/Mer/Ven in 7th
Moon in 5th

i have a feeling that once i meet the "man" our connection will help deture some of my more negative qualites. thoughts due to the Neptune dreaminess in connection with 7th house prominent planets, maybe, but dang it's something i can't seem to get over easily. i am trying meditation, but Uranus in the 12th house may be my difficulty with that. i think Buddhism philosophies will help, along with some intense creative outlets. thank you for your reply! i'm crossing my fingers for a new beginning, and a life path that will combine my qualities.

First, it is interesting that your personal information says that you're from "Neverland."

Second, you're not providing the degrees of your planets, so it's hard to figure out if your Neptune is really squaring and oppositing so many planets. If these are wide orb aspects, they're not that powerful.

Stop being such a foggy neptunian and give us exact details of your chart so we can help you better.

That's better.

Your Neptune in 1st house Sagg is exactly opposite your Venus in 7th house Gem. I would say that you have a tendency to romanticize marriage and your marriage partner too much, way too much. My advice: Do NOT expect marriage to fix your life because it will not. Do not put your happiness in getting a marriage partner, because you will be disappointed. At least not your first marriage, as the 7th house tends to rule first marriages.

The orbs for the aspects Neptune makes with the other planets are more than 5 degrees each. I consider up to 5 degrees orb to be effective, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

However, because is the most aspected planet in your chart, Neptune takes on a particular focus and importance because it gets a lot of attention so to speak. You could use this to your advantage. Many successful performers have Neptune proeminent in their chart and through it, they are able to project whatever images they want to the public.

You have an interesting conjunction at the top of your chart, of Jupiter and Saturn. Though these 2 planets don't like to be together you could still harness their gifts to have a very successful career in whatever you choose, as the 10th house rules careers.

You have Pluto in 11th house, making a nice sextile with your Neptune. You are very likely to have some powerful friends that could help you actualize your personality.

ETA: Neptune make a quincunx to your Mars. That could give good dancing abilities...

Belage is bang on target when she recommends not counting on marriage/partnership to "fix" your life.....

So many people these days see marriage as *THE* goal in their life, that once they have a partner, they are complete and Life has reached its highest pinnacle of achievement. I don't see it that way. By having an intimate partner act out all your 7th house potentials (planets there, aspects to the ruler, etc), you are giving up the power to another person. You can't control their actions -- you can control your own All those things you look for in another ARE inside you, just dormant and unexpressed. Far better to awaken them yourself and explore their potentials, than link with another person to express them for you, perhaps in a way that you don't like very much.....

There was a thread a while back that started on a different topic but went onto laziness after Geocosmic Valentine correctly guessed that I had Neptune CNJ Jupiter.

It's in the 1st house and part of a T-Square. It's not the easiest (OPP SA, SQ MC) but I don't think I'd quite call it a ball and chain.

Like anything on a chart, you can learn to use it to it's best potential. I'm not saying I've done that, but it's not been left useless. Like I said to G.V, sitting on your @rse thinking about the universe can be productive - I've got a degree in philosophy. I also agree about the comments concerning creativity.

As a child my mother would say, "you are always sitting around with your nose in a book". That's Neptune in the 1st. Escaping into a world of fiction. Now I am a librarian. I do my own bit of scribbling, as well.

But there is another thing that your post has made me think about -:

When I was a small child I recall noticing my father being able to switch off from his surroundings, he would read his paper as if he was in his own zone. Even if my mother and her sisters were sitting next to him moaning and gossiping. I can do the same thing as an adult. It is a very handy skill.

Looking at his chart out of interest, I see Neptune is on the Descendant and trines a stellium of 5 planets. My elder son also has Neptune in the first house, conjunct the Ascendant. Funnily enough, he was a water birth. I can already spot the 'switch off' mechanism in action.

Daydreaming is a good escape mechanism. As long as it isn't overdone. I agree with you about creative outlets and maybe try yoga to help the mediation along.

In summary: I agree with Zala - work with it, not against it.

well, romanticizing my relationship-

yeh, i tend to see the person of my affection to be more like me than he really is. that's ultimately what i'm looking for, i guess. someone like me in more ways than one, but i am very complex. i want someone playful, but intelligent, intellectual, but really spiritual, down to earth, but very dreamy, open, and a little mysterious. i've actually been trying to figure out if i have anything in my chart that suggests that a woman might be more to my liking, or that i might enjoy a female relationship more. i've always been attracted to females more than males; physically, and emotionally, but i'm not sure if it's real. i don't know. is there a way to find that out?

oh, and what if i never marry? does the 7th house represent undocumented commitments?
