how would that tend to play out?the guy i just broke it off with (we were seeing eachother, but weren't really together, just testing it out..) has jupiter on my SN (and his moon on my NN). i'm trying to figure out how this plays out with us. he is constantly "assessing" me and trying to understand me, and i know that's all his virgo (moon and rising), but i find it quite uncomfortable since he tends to get me wrong much of the time and yet he's obsessed with understanding me.. so i feel like i keep getting dragged back into this dialogue with him just to try to untangle myself from his inacurate assessments and it just feels goopy and gah.. does this sound like what this aspect could be? or does anyone have any experience with this aspect? i'm curious! aha! i just found this interpretation! so true! he's always assessing me, THEN telling me what i need to do! egads! Jupiter conjunct South Node There's a slight potential for one of you (usually the Jupiter person) to be a bit overbearing toward the other with this conjunction, with the attitude of "I know what's best for you. " While this may at times be true, it can ruffle the other's feathers and cause him or her to do the exact opposite of what you hope. There is also a slight danger that the pair of you will adopt a you-and-me-against-the-world attitude, which can become a self-fulfilling prophesy. IP: Logged |

That's so funny you bring this up. I have this aspect with my "date" tonight. In fact, I think it goes both ways since we have the same NN/SN and our Jupiters are close and in the 12th house.I'll let you know if this same thing comes up IP: Logged |

funny! well, if it goes both ways, it could be mutually beneficial, and since you each have it in your own charts it won't be "foreign" feeling. and if the concern or the desire to help one another is mutual, you could apply it sensitively, since you'd have an inate understanding of eachothers' reservations and such.here is an interpretation i found while searching for synastry. this isn't synastry, but it might shed some insight! Jupiter Conjunct South Node: This person has a karmic lesson to learn regarding faith, trust, beliefs and values. They may have too much faith or too little, or put trust in the wrong place (areas of life that are not infinite) or the wrong people. They could feel phobic or fearful about travel, foreigners, religion, education or expansion and growth. Learning to extend unconditional love, to trust in God, nature and the parts of life that are infinite is key for them.

charlotte,i would think that if it involved the NN, the jupiter person would have a more intrinsic understanding of what is actually helpful to the NN person than would be with the SN. i'm thinking with the SN/jupiter contact, the SN person rebels because it doesn't feel right, or isn't right, and the expansiveness of jupiter brings up old patterns or resolved issues, or just plain irrelevancies (that's just my guess though), whereas if it's expanding on the NN, it would probably be very useful and challenging in a way that helps the NN person evolve. I am the node person. The jupiter person doesn't come across as overbearing but does offer up what is best for me a lot. There is also a you-and-me against the world attitude sometimes. Something else I've noticed is that the stuff the jupiter person brings up stuff from the past that needs to be adressed in order for me to move forward to a better future. The "I know what is best for you" part plays out by the jupiter person being very resoursceful with help offered to deal with the past issues. I never felt the need to rebel against it even with my aqua mars. lol I'm not sure if I see the analyzing, maybe that is the virgo thing? We have no virgo action in our synastry. My sun conjuncts the jupiter person's south node. Not sure how that plays out. IP: Logged |

thanks ms_scorpio! yeah, he was very helpful in many regards in terms of trying to help me deal with my past. maybe it was just too *much* focus on that for me to feel comfortable with it..thank you for you input! it is an interesting aspect to think about in terms of the evolution of the soul..
