How do you guys feel about Mercury/Moon, and Merc/Venus interconnections in synastry?

I feel they are VERY important, especially Merc and moon connections. Like for example, if a person has a Aqua moon and the other person has a cancer Merc, wouldn't this be a MAJOR clash just looking at this aspect alone? Wouldn't the Aqau person have "Aqau needs" in a relationship whereas the Cancer Merc would "think" like a Cancer in responding to the Aqua's emotional needs? This would be a BIG clash right? Then throw a squared Venus in there and it can really get ugly am I right?

But why would you look at that one aspect alone?

What if the Aqua Moon person has a Pisces Mercury which trines the Cancer Mercury? The communication scenario would start to look a whole lot different.

You are right, I was just looking at it from the angle that the other planets wern't so harmonious either.

I think it adds to sympathy but it not fatal to have a negative aspect between these. What I find important is maybe a square between mercuries themselves or even oppositions. I've met a couple of people who have this with me and I just want to butt heads with them

I see Merc-Moon conjunctions over and over again between me and those with whom I enjoy my closest relationships. WRT my favorite person in the world, my Moon is conjunct his Mercury, which makes for a tight, even psychic, bond between us. I understand his mentality on an emotional level. It's quite an intimate connection at times.

As for Merc-Venus—I haven't seen that often, so I wouldn't know. I would think it would be a desireable aspect in synastry, though, as long as the parties involved didn't give in to a tendency to intellectualize their affections too much.
