the fog on the Tyne is all mine, all mine, the fog on the Tyne is all mine

My bed it was made wide yestreen,
The nicht it sall be narrow;
There's neer a man lle by my side
Since Willie's drowned in Yarrow.'

We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic
Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic

You have to hear this song, its actually one of my favourite songs. The lyrics and music are sooooo neptunian. Its "For Your Pleasure" by Roxy Music:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PokKVDhjjo

For your pleasure
In our present state
Part false part true
Like anything
We present ourselves
The words we use tumble
All over your shoulder
Gravel hard and loose
There all night lying
With your dark horse hiding
Abhorring such extremes
You're rubbing shoulders
With the stars at night
Shining so bright
Getting older
But you'll wake up soon
And fight
In the morning
Things you worried about
Last night
Will seem lighter
I hope things
Will turn out right
Old man
Through every step a change
You watch me walk away
Tara tara...

The Titanic's huge hit: My heart will go on.

It was the soundtrack of a drama that unfolded at sea; Neptune rules the sea.

Everything about that song is dreamy and has a bigger than life, otherwordly quality. It spoke of sacrifice, of loss and never ending love. So Neptunian.

Of course, it became a hit when Jupiter was in Pisces. Surprise? Nope The combo of Jupiter and Neptune made it one of the biggest hit ever.

Anything Mariah Carey - especially songs like Underneath the stars, I find her songs very neptune influenced

This is a great thread, a good idea. We could work through the planets and then attack the zodiac signs. Stimulation for music lovers and work slackers across the globe!

I think "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane really screams neptunian!

Has anyone bothered to listen to my song yet?? (apologies for the poor sound quality of it, it doesn't pick up the neptune too well)

Sounds like a good opportunity to plug my favorite Neptune-Sun singer's latest:

Elbow - Grounds For Divorce

This band is generally a bit more delicate than this number, so if you want to truly be transported to a more Neptunian world try their song Any Day Now. Very trippy.

Dream A Little Dream Of Me
Mama's and Papa's

Stars shining bright above you;
Night breezes seem to whisper I love you?
Birds singing in the sycamore tree.
Dream a little dream of me.

Say nighty-night and kiss me;
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me.
While I'm alone, blue as can be,
Dream a little dream of me.

Stars fading but I linger on, dear---
Still craving your kiss.
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear,
Just saying this...

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you---
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you.
But in your dreams, whatever they be,
Dream a little dream of me.

Stars fading but I linger on, dear---
Still craving your kiss.
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear,
Just saying this...

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you---
Sweet dreams that leave all worries far behind you.
But in your dreams, whatever they be,
Dream a little dream of me.

Dream weaver - 1970s song

California Dreaming - Mama's and the Papa's

Sweet Dreams Are Made of These - Eurythmics

Echo Beach - Martha and the Muffins

Addicted to Love - Robert Palmer (A good Venus in Pisces tune)

Your lights are on, but you're not home
Your mind is not your own
Your heart sweats, your body shakes
Another kiss is what it takes
You can't sleep, you can't eat
There's no doubt, you're in deep
Your throat is tight, you can't breathe
Another kiss is all you need

Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff, oh yeah
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough, you know you're
Gonna have to face it, you're addicted to love

You see the signs, but you can't read
You're runnin' at a different speed
You heart beats in double time
Another kiss and you'll be mine, a one track mind

You can't be saved
Oblivion is all you crave
If there's some left for you
You don't mind if you do

Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff, oh yeah
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough, you know you're
Gonna have to face it, you're addicted to love

Your lights are on, but you're not home
Your will is not your own
You're heart sweats and teeth grind
Another kiss and you'll be mine

Love is the Drug - Roxy Music

Dancer in a Daydream - Ace Of Base

Go your own way - Fleetwood Mac
(Loving the wrong person)

Bakers Street - Gerry Rafferty
(Unrealistic dreams in relationships. She gonna shack up with a rolling stone and is hooked on the drink.)

Living in a Dream - Pseudo Echo
(Illusions or hallucinations of Authority figures secretly watching a person)

Drinkin Thinkin - George Canyon
(Drinking it up at the local bar and seeing watch funny stuff comes up.....love this tune!)

I've got to use my imagination - Gladys Knight and the Pips

Dreamer - Supertramp (I love this band)

Dream on - Aerosmith

Okay so I am one huge music junkie and this is my passion. I can't seem to live with my music but these are just a few tunes that come to mind here.....

I like the White Rabbit tune too - it really fits the Neptune theme and it's one of my music jam songs that I sing with the band....

I'm loving the Elbow song, AG. Thanks for posting the link!

Now I remember where I've heard of them: http://www.rathergood.com/independent_woman

But I didn't check out their original music, so they're still a new find for me.

I think the story behind this song (it being from a peeping tom's pov) makes it even more Neptunian.

Crash Into Me - DMB

You've got your ball
you've got your chain
tied to me tight tie me up again
who's got their claws
in you my friend
Into your heart I'll beat again
Sweet like candy to my soul
Sweet you rock
and sweet you roll
Lost for you I'm so lost for you

You come crash into me
And I come into you
I come into you
In a boys dream
In a boys dream

Touch your lips just so I know
In your eyes, love, it glows so
I'm bare boned and crazy for you
When you come crash
into me, baby
And I come into you
In a boys dream
In a boys dream

If I've gone overboard
Then I'm begging you
to forgive me
in my haste
When I'm holding you so girl
close to me

Oh and you come crash
into me, baby
And I come into you
Hike up your skirt a little more
and show the world to me
Hike up your skirt a little more
and show your world to me
In a boys dream.. In a boys dream

Oh I watch you there
through the window
And I stare at you
You wear nothing but you
wear it so well
tied up and twisted
the way I'd like to be
For you, for me, come crash
into me

Haunted - Poe

Ba da pa pa ba da pa pa...
Come here
Pretty please
Can you tell me where I am
You, won't you say something
I need to get my bearings
I'm lost
And the shadows keep on changing

And I'm haunted
By the lives that I have loved
And actions I have hated
I'm haunted
By the lives that wove the web
Inside my haunted head

Ba da pa pa ba da pa pa...

Don't cry,
There's always a way
Here in November in this house of leaves
We'll pray
Please, I know it's hard to believe
To see a perfect forest
Through so many splintered trees
You and me
And these shadows keep on changing

And I'm haunted
By the lives that I have loved
And actions I have hated
I'm haunted
By the promises I've made
And others I have broken
I'm haunted
By the lives that wove the web
Inside my haunted head

Hallways... always

I'll always want you
I'll always need you
I'll always love you

And I will always miss you

Ba da pa pa ba da pa pa...

Come here
No I won't say please
One more look at the ghost
Before I'm gonna make it leave
Come here
I've got the pieces here
Time to gather up the splinters
Build a casket for my tears

I'm haunted
(By the lives that I have loved)
I'm haunted
(By the promises I've made)
I'm haunted
By the hallways in this tiny room
The echos there of me and you
The voices that are carrying this tune

Ba da pa pa...

Annie's Song - John Denver

You fill up my senses like a night in the forest,
like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain,
like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean.
You fill up my senses, come fill me again.

Come let me love you, let me give my life to you,
let me drown in your laughter, let me die in your arms,
let me lay down beside you, let me always be with you.
Come let me love you, come love me again.

You fill up my senses like a night in the forest,
like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain,
like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean.
You fill up my senses, come fill me again.

Where The Streets Have No Name - U2

I wanna run, I want to hide
I wanna tear down the walls
That hold me inside.
I wanna reach out
And touch the flame
Where the streets have no name.

I wanna feel sunlight on my face.
I see the dust-cloud
Disappear without a trace.
I wanna take shelter
From the poison rain
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name.

We're still building and burning down love
Burning down love.
And when I go there
I go there with you
(It's all I can do).

The city's a flood, and our love turns to rust.
We're beaten and blown by the wind
Trampled in dust.
I'll show you a place
High on a desert plain
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name.

We're still building and burning down love
Burning down love.
And when I go there
I go there with you
(It's all I can do).

The Man Who Sold the World...David Bowie

We passed upon the stair, we spoke of was and when
Although I wasn't there, he said I was his friend
Which came as some surprise I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone, a long long time ago

Oh no, not me
I never lost control
You're face to face
With The Man Who Sold The World

I laughed and shook his hand, and made my way back home
I searched for form and land, for years and years I roamed
I gazed a gazely stare at all the millions here
We must have died along, a long long time ago

Who knows? not me
We never lost control
You're face to face
With the Man who Sold the World
