Hi

Just because something is "square" or "opposing" does not always mean that it creates conflict. Some of these "tense" aspects can create great energy towards making a union exciting.

For example, these are good to have in a synastry because they either complement one another or offer a dynamic quality to the union:

Sun Opposing Moon
Sun Opposing Vertex
Sun/Moon square one of the Nodes of the Moon
Mercury aspecting Neptune/Pluto in any way is not bad either.
Also when Venus touches something, it is usually not bad too, even if it is opposed or squared accept Saturn.

And there are many other combinations. Look to www.cafeastrology.com to see more.

Sun opposed Uranus is slightly filled with tension but it is not the most stressful aspect out there. These aspects are not black/white like that as to deem them good or bad. Some might be stressful but after over-coming them and handling them well, one could reap great rewards from the most stressful of aspects. it's all about practicing tolerance and patience, with a huge dash of love.

yes - Venus being the lesser benefic between Venus and Jupiter.

winky - I am still learning so I wouldn't be comfortable in making staunch remarks about "the most taxing" aspect unless I am speaking from my personal experiences or from my natal chart.

I am currently just learning basics right now and synastry is not even anywhere near my syllabus. So, I can't be much of help for you. Maybe more experienced astrologers on the site can help you. I wouldn't want to pass on information irresponsibly before i know exactly what I am talking about.

But I will answer/comment where I am knowledgeable.

Hi Winky,

With a Uranus/Sun opposition, a kind of nervous tension will most likely be felt between the two people.

How that aspect will feel to you depends on your own natal chart.

For example, someone I've known for a year has: his Sun/his Uranus/my Uranus/his Pluto/my Pluto opposite my Sun/my Chiron/my Saturn/his Chiron.

We definitely make eachother nervous, but I think that we're now bonding due to persistence, patience, and time (Saturn/Pluto). At first, we kind of avoided eachother because there's a feeling that "electricity is dangerous to play with."

But...we've both kind of showed eachother that we're willing to explore and that we're hanging in there through the tension and I'd attribute it to the familiarity of feeling from our own natal charts. (He has Sun/Uranus/Pluto opposite Chiron natally and I have Sun/Chiron/Saturn opposite Uranus/Pluto natally.)

The beauty is that his Sun is igniting my Uranus/Pluto and kicking my lazy grand water trine into action. My Sun/Saturn/Chiron is giving all of his energy structure and direction and is altering his self image in a positive way.

However, even with this aspect (Sun opp Uran) in my natal, each time we're about to meet up, I think WHY am I so nervous??? It freaks me out that I can't control it. Then, after we're around eachother for a while, it eases up a bit. Strange, but that's what Uranus is known for!

8th tell u what when i dial this guys no to say hello sporadically, as, unfortunately we are not dating anymore, my heart beats FASTER as in the first day my eyes met his!

My uranus trines my conj of venus and mars in 7th, in gemini, so possibly this is it! by the way it is my uranus strongly opposing his personal planets, including sun moon mars and venus, ALL opps... so GO FIGURE! still does this mean only electricity? another thing i keep reading is prominent uranus is very separative as in very intense but suddenly there is nothing left,,......... so dunno really
we suddenly fell apart 2 months ago and we have kept contact but that is it... then again i had so many saturn sq with him it was all a bit too heavy... but as i said i found opps hard to figure out... there u go.. so much uranus opps really caught my eye...

Oh yes, Uranus.

I have strong Uranus-aspects with two guys:

Guy 1:

His Uranus / Pluto opposes his Saturn / Chiron and all of this squares my Sun and MErcury, making this a T-square.

My Uranus sextiles his Sun and opposes his Moon.

Guy 2:

His Uranus trines my Sun and Mercury.
My Uranus opposes his Venus.

With Guy 1 the electricity is unbearable. I can physically feel SPARKS running down my arms for instance, and it`s basically just too much nervous and electric energy.

with Guy 2 the electricity is much more pleasant and bearable, even though I still feel, like my whole being is humming and vibrating, when I am in physical proximity.

Oh and regarding oppositions in synastry:

I consider those oppositions between masculine and femininte planets VERY positive. They are a source of really magnetic attraction.

Sun - Moon
Sun - Venus
Moon - Mars (sometimes)
Venus - Mars

But also
Moon - Moon
Venus - Venus

I`m not so sure about oppositions of personal planets to outer planets; those could be very stressful, despite an undeniable attraction.

But maybe it helps to remember, that opposites always fall in compatible signs; either Water and Earth or Fire and Air.
To me it`s a very complimentary aspect.
