Stephen arroyo was writing it is of utter importance to well know your suns element + sign+aspects and what it means and what needs it represents, as this the FUEL u need for ur life......My sun is in the 5th house, fairly unaspected, yet i feel more alive than ever when i am in love, but not only with the opposite sex, but with a job,etc.. Also it is in Taurus, and i derive a lot of pleasure from everyday eating, seeing beautiful things (preferably men jeje), or pleasantness as in the sensual realm. I LOVE Arroyo for this!He turned me onto elemental astrology and I have been stuck there for many, many years. SO many people forget about the elements and they speak SO loudly as to the basis for an individual's personality. My Pisces sun is in the 4th, and my fuel is water at my home. To float in my hot tub, on my deck in my beautiful back yard, beneath the Druid flora, with all of my pretty flora all around me....and that is exactly what I am off to do now!!! Good thread! hippi glad to meet, albeit in forumland, a fellow arroyo-admirer... i find him most simple yet deep, simple but to the point...it has helped me a lot, for example, to understand my deep longing for children, my stubborn feelings, and my love of nature, to read him. I am heavily gemini-ladden yet even though i intellectualize most things, my sun in taurus is very much responsible for a lot that i didnt use to understand and i intend to keep nourishing it completely.... I have a Sag sun in 8th almost 9th house. My sun is trine mars and ac. conjunct mercury in 9th. Also sun is Squaring lilith.sports make me happy. thought of being closer to some big goal i almost always have set. it helps to feel purposeful and driven. love to learn about other cultures. Love to think about men & sleeping . Daydreaming/slumber is my happy place in a way. Even when everything else falls apart Good thread I'd love to learn more about this. I'm a Scorpio and it's in the 5th house.I'd say my fuel is music. It's my job, my life, my hobby. I love music basically because it's very physical, it enables you to express and experience all kinds of energies that would remain as hidden treasures otherwise. And it's fun of course. I used to use Love as fuel but I realized that that kind of obsession gives you a rather negative energy and causes massive wreckage as it leaves. IP: Logged |

WinkyI have LOTS of Arroyo books! And his "Astrology, Pyschology and the Four Elememts" is my most fav! Evander Like I said, I do not know why so many people leave this very basic aspect out of their astrological interpretations???  Everytime I come to know someone's sun sign, I think element first: Earth: grounded, earthy, traditional, Air: Intellect, spacey, mind, Water: Emotion, fluid Fire: Drive, putting it out there, passion, Etc. Then one can apply the qualities of the Sun, the aspects, the houses, and go from there! So simple! I LOVE it! IP: Logged |

I agree Hippichick! I also try and distinguish element before distinguishing sign. It makes guessing signs SOOO much easier and more accurate. I think I have Arroyo's book on Love- it deals mainly with the Moon, Mars, and Venus. It's very intriguing, and fairly accurate. Anyway, to answer the question... My Sun is in Virgo in the 10th, conjuncting my MC and Venus. I've always been very career driven and went straight through school (clear through to my MA) so that I might have a chance of doing what I really want to do, which is becoming a counselor. Though I'm not exactly where I want to be yet, just doing something even remotely related to what I do is very refreshing. I notice that when I've had a day where I've really connected to someone and helped them, I come home much happier. ------------------
