Many astrologers claim that if u dont have the following luminaries (sun,moon,asc) activated with someone in synastry u are not in for the long-term with this person...* Sun and Moon (represents man/woman) * Sun and Sun (natural affinity)
* Sun and Chiron (trustworthy)
* Moon and Moon (Emotionally attuned)
* Moon and Ascendant or Descendant (a soul kinship)
Any experiences?

Great topic, especially because I’ve just been questioning this myself. I get the gist that it’s all very nice to have these aspects with someone but what if they just aren’t there yet you are still drawn together. Does it mean that your heart wont be in it for the long term or is it regardless of how much love you share you are just never going to make it to the long term because you don’t have certain planets in certain configurations. I had a six year relationship which I’d say qualifies for long-term status and we did not have one of those aspects listed. Maybe we would have lasted longer if we had some of them, maybe not, but I have seen instances where those aspects haven’t guaranteed longevity either. We did however have a bit of midpoint action happening with my Sun/Moon midpoint in almost exact opposition to his Sun and his Sun/Moon midpoint in an almost exact opposition to my Moon (both were less than 1 degree) so maybe that made up for the lack Sun and Moon aspects listed. I would be interested to hear from others who know of long-term relationships that had a lack of those listed aspects.

Hi Winky Personally l prefer sun/AC or DC link as moon on my AC or DC is way too close for comfort!!! So l think sun aspecting either is better for long term. My current experience is: * Sun and Moon (represents man/woman) his sun trine my moon my sun sesquiquadrate his moon * Sun and Sun (natural affinity) his sun out of orb square my sun * Sun and Chiron (trustworthy) no aspects haha maybe that is why l have a trust issue with him. * Moon and Moon (Emotionally attuned) his moon trine his moon * Moon and Ascendant or Descendant (a soul kinship) his sun conjunct my AC my moon quincunx his AC IP: Logged |

laaaaaaaaaaara yuhiiiiiiiiiiii good morning!lara how do u see this sun sq sun of urs with ur man? snowflakes, i believe if u dont have these luminaries activated in aspect in synastry u dont have THE MAIN affinity as to leading to something that can work long-term For example i had a lot of beautiful mars-venus-pluto aspects with this bloke but no triad and it didnt last... it was not great, to be honest. More karmic than anything...Remember that his sun also conjuncted my venus/saturn/nn! I think there was too much similatiry as he was born only 15 days before me. Our relationship was fighting, him pushing me to be aggressive and a lot of verbal violence. I find sun/moon conjunct too intense for me personally, because my moon is so tied up in that 8th house stellium IP: Logged |

My husband and I have been together for almost 16 years. We met back in 1992, got married in May 1994 and are still happy with each other. Here are our aspects:Sun/Moon: no aspects. Sun/Sun: our Suns are square (6°42'). Sun/Chiron: his Sun conjuncts my Chiron, but very widely (8 degrees). Too wide to be considered, I guess. Moon/Moon: no aspects. Moon/Asc: his Moon sextiles my ascendant and trines my descendant. I think the most important aspects in our synastry are the Moon/Saturn and Sun/Saturn ones: his Saturn conjuncts my Moon and opposes my Sun, while my Saturn sextiles his Sun. I am convinced that Saturn is indeed the glue that keeps people together. IP: Logged |

there u go teresa, at leat 2 or 3 VERY important triad aspects, yes surely saturn glues u together but affinity is also important in ur case with moon/asc/desc, very telling...saturn is ok if it is harmonic, is it in ur case? i have an example of only squares and i hate it...durable rship but very tough IP: Logged |

Our Saturn aspects are mostly hard, but our relationship is definitely not. There is a very nice affinity between us, we barely discuss about anything. Here they are:My Saturn: - sextiles his Sun (1 degree) - forms a bi-quintile to his Moon (1 degree) - squares his Mercury (6 degrees) - opposes his Jupiter (5 degrees) - sextiles his Pluto (5 degrees) - squares his NN (4 degrees) - trines his Chiron (3 degrees) - conjuncts his Lilith exact - opposes his Juno exact - is inconjunct his MC His Saturn: - opposes my Sun (3 degrees) - conjuncts my Moon (2 degrees) - is inconjunct my Venus exact - squares my Mars (3 degrees) - squares my Uranus (0 degrees) - semisquares my Neptune (1 degree) - squares my Chiron (2 degrees) - semisquares my Ceres (0 degrees) IP: Logged |

teresa usually in synastry u tend to find that the major 90 degree aspects are the most defining between couples, that is conj,sq and opp and u have some in the triad and with saturn, thus the bond probably........... IP: Logged |

i dont necessarily agree with that Triad in order for the relationship to be long-term.Why? Because it´s to simplistic and Life is anything but that,Love relationships included It´s very hadr for two people have all those aspects in soft conections and i´m convinced that what makes a relationship stronger and deeper bonding are the challenging aspects - which makes both to work on and continuasly developing as a couple. And those astrologers dont have in MInd all the other variables and aspects in ASTROLOGY - many times show what is lack in sinastry and yet the couple shows sth indefinible: House rulers and their places and aspects Draconics Antirsticia Points Name Frequencies Sidereal Charts Me and my bf have: Sun/Moon : none;however his Sun ruler planet trine my Moon. Sun/Sun: none;however my sun ruler conj his Sun. Sun/Kiron: a wide skuare and a tight trine Moon/Moon: a skaure in 4ºorb.Ancient ruler of his Moon kikunk my Moon (karmic aspect).The ruler of my Moon sextile his Moon Ruler Moon/ASC or DSC: none.However,his Moon Ruler sextile my ASC.My Moon ruler semisextile his ASC. Ceres(other asteroid conected to my Moon Sign) exact conj his Moon As you see,we have so much to learn and research in Astrology that we cannot simplify. DRACOS MY D.Moon skuare his D.Sun His D.Moon sextile my Sun His D.Moon trine my D.ASC exact

Yup, I also agree that rulers play a big role. My Asc ruler, Mars, is conjunct my husband's Venus and trines his Asc ruler, Uranus, which is conjunct my Venus! Also, my IC ruler, the Moon, squares his IC ruler, Venus, and his Sun ruler, Mars, sextiles my Sun ruler, the Moon. I think these aspects definitely contribute to the overall chemistry between us. Generally I think that there should be basic harmony (including some oppositions btw) between Sun, Moon and ASC (how did Chiron get into the list btw?), but - big BUT, it depends on how your Sun, MOon and ASC are integrated in your own chart.What if you have a Moon squaring Uranus, Saturn and Pluto? Now let`s say someone comes along who activates your Moon, by putting his Sun onto the same place as your Moon. Of course this gives you a nice Sun-Moon-conjunction, but it also adds Saturn, Uranus and Pluto squares to the other one`s Sun; so I doubt this would be a very pleasant interaction. Let`s say your Moon is in Sagittarius, SAturn in Pisces and Uranus and Pluto in Virgo. I guess, most people would prefer a Sun in Leo (for example) to a Sun in Sagittarius in this case (Semisextiles and quinkunxes are still nto easy, but not so "loud" as squares are). But then again you have to take something else into consideration, and that are the aspects of Sun or Moon in the natal chart.
For example: Two people have a Sun in Sagittarius, but one has Sun conjunct Venus and trine Moon, while the other one has Sun conjunct Uranus and square Saturn. Even though both persons have a Sagittarius-Sun they would be very different persons. So, before you look at the synastry, you have to see if the basic natal charts are in harmony (I`d look to signs, houses and aspects for that). DD IP: Logged |
