So, I have become a tad obsessed as of late, but still have some reservations about the whole astrology thing...How did you get into astrology and what would you say to people skeptical of it? Why do you stand by it? Thanks, M. IP: Logged |

How did you get into astrology and what would you say to people skeptical of it? Why do you stand by it?Watching Billy Van on the Canadian TV Show the Hilarious House Of Frightenstein play the Oracle back in the 70s. He always said to look to the stars. Sparked my interest as a child but the actual studying of Astrology didn't hit till March of 1994. (Self taught) Here is a Youtube clip of what I'm talking about... http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=vmuo1BIfdEE In regards to the folks who don't believe and think that astrology is a joke - I don't deal with them much as I am very very selective as to who I discuss what. To each his/her own. I figure out if they like astrology then I get the green light if they don't I simply don't discuss it. ID IP: Logged |

When I was about 8, one of my mom's friends got me a book for girls that had something on sun signs in it. It must have appealed to something, I've been reading about it ever since. Gemini is an appealing sign for a young girl. On here we get slated as flaky, superficial, etc. *pouts* I don't say anything to people who are sceptical about astrology. I just talk about something else. I don't feel like I have to defend my personal beliefs on esoteric subjects. But a standard thing I would say would be: it's symbolic. It's not a real or actual thing. If that is over their head then why bother? My husband isn't really interested in astrology. Or gossip. He tells me to shut up if I gossip too much. But he will just glaze over and pretentd like he is listening if I talk about astrology. He's got a tattoo of his star sign though. IP: Logged |
